python's gonna hug on me my dogs are constricting snakes that means they squeeze their prey until they can't breathe anymore this wasn't exactly the plan but i'll take it could you please press that button for me [Music] yes i'm a python wait a second no animal eats adult pythons i'm at the top of the food web not so fast chris we're checking something what yup it's right here it almost never happens but big adult pythons are sometimes caught and eaten by a super hungry lion or leopard you mean kind of like that whoa you gotta be pretty hungry to tangle with a python whoa not this time catching food can be dangerous business for predators too prey defends itself and getting a meal isn't always easy so it's official it's rare but leopards and lions will tangle with an adult python if every way this is a tough one how are we going to find a blackjack or before zach when any jaguar black or orange is so hard to find in the first place yeah even though they are so big the biggest cat in the western hemisphere by the way they are so secretive they're harder to see than the camouflage tortuga tortuga where's the tortuga exactly hey our best bet would be to find some jaguar spotting experts and then they could help us you're on jaguar spotting experts like putting spots on the jaguar or do you mean spotting like seeing jaguars you know creatures like spider monkeys pacas white lip peccaries rainforest deer oh i get it animals got a jaguar hunt that's right because these animals have to spot a jaguar before the jaguar spots them for survival so if we can find an animal who is the prey of a jaguar like the spider monkey for example if they spotted jaguar they would make a warning call yeah sort of like that then we would know there's a jaguar around [Music] [Applause] [Laughter] ah yes the spider monkey along maybe they spotted a jag my favorite wildcat absolutely stunning what great camouflage the jaguar's orange and black spotted pattern blends in with the beams of light and shadows of the forest floor and the jaguar can virtually disappear i bet a jaguar could sneak up behind you and you wouldn't even know it was there we would know but we of course we would really hard [Music] wow [Music] that was close oh not so close oh so you were the blur i saw going by you win that one blur and the cretara took a beating it's a great off-road vehicle but no human-made vehicle can handle this rough terrain at cheetah speed hmm we'll see about that let's see cheetah sneaks no cretera no what invention could match cheetah speed racing across the rough and tumble african savannah don't waste your time aviva the cheetah is the fastest land animal on earth for a reason it's the perfect design for running across rough ground you can't outrun a cheetah on the african savanna no way uh yes way no way yes way i'm going to invent an invention that can run faster out here faster than a cheetah faster than anything no way will you stop saying that that wasn't me yes it was wait a minute i recognize that voice of course you do it's the voice of the inventor you wish you could be spying on you from within my spy cloud [Music] you didn't even know i was here i should have rained on you nice oh you're just jealous because i have always been a better inventor than you oh really what about at science camp when my potato clock kept better time than your moldy bread all the time oh forget about that you're only as great as your last invention i want in on this racing contest and this time you're all gonna eat my dust oh yeah okay this is getting very interesting two inventions duking it out in a cheetah race well i'm sticking with the natural speedster nothing can beat the fastest runner on the savannah oh big surprise he who breathes fire that's what we've got to call him he who breathes fire in the local swahili language that translates to anae moto pumula moto he who breathes fire nobody is going to mess with the pride with he who breathes fire as the guardian he must be 180 kilograms and as big as a lion gets yeah and moto looks to be five years old and in his prime and that's his job to guard the lionesses anywhere from two to twenty pluses cubs from danger of the 36 species of wildcat lions are the only ones that live in a big social group a big old family uh then where's he going [Music] all right yeah he's going on patrol every few nights or so he'll patrol the pride's territory to make sure there is no intruder like other lions around he doesn't wait for trouble to come he goes out to stop it yeah but what if trouble finds the pride while he's gone well the lioness are tough but if trouble shows up that they really need help with like a really big clan of hyenas or other male lions the lioness will call for the lion and he'll come charging back saving the pride with the lion powers [Music] um where's he going are you kidding when a lion of a pride trots off to survey the territory what do you think we do have a catnap in the cretara no way we're going on lion patrol naturally take your time [Music] he's marking his territory weird how a lion piece backwards male dogs lift legs male cats spray backwards hey while we track him let's map his territory yes because this termite mound is like a signpost on the edge of his territory and his p is like a message to other lines that says keep out trespassers will be attacked and maimed and in other ways have a very bad day uh something like that engaging map actuator while we track him let's charge his territory and we'll end up with a map of the neighbor moto kingdom looks like he's on the prowl let's move they are so cute hey you want to do something a little different today sure this time why don't we name all the lion cubs yeah why not and we'll surprise martin when he gets back i'll name him lil cubby and that one [Music] [Music] wow he really is the king of beasts hey let's see what other mimics we can find in africa or go bird watching that's no bird that's a cheetah it's so weird to see a big cat chirp that's not just any cheetah that's blurred our cheetah buddy from the last time we were in africa when aviva raced her cheetah racer against the zach terrain vehicle [Music] oh cute i don't believe it when did blair have a cub uh from the looks of might say about seven weeks ago because he still has that black and white coloring on top oh i've gotta come up with a special name for him [Music] what does she see out there i don't know but her black eye stripes are absorbing the sun's glare so she can see when it's bright oh wait i've got just the thing here it is my black baseball grease when i spread it onto my eyes in the cheetah's eye stripes it gives me the cheetah power to look out onto the bright savannah and see oh a lion lions are always trying to take out cheetahs lions see the cheetah is competition and they'll kill a cheetah or even a cheetah cub any chance they get that chirp means hide a special chirp for each command now blur is going out to distract the lion she's trying to leave a line away from little oh what am i gonna call them [Music] now that is one clever way to avoid predators cheetah style [Music] oh i spot speed a light lean running machine oh here's my chance to update and improve my cheat eraser bring up the cheat eraser [Music] hmm blur lures away lions with her cheetah speed to keep her cubs safe because little cubs can't run fast yet check out the racing stripe black fur on his back with a white stripe down the middle i wonder why a cheetah cub has that and his mom doesn't hey where is his mom i'll use my cheetah vision to find her there she is here we go a cheetah hunt she has to catch a gazelle to feed her cub there goes the fastest land animal on the planet at 70 miles per hour [Music] chris what's going on over there he's watching over what's that something's spooking them what you're spooking me [Music] a clouded leopard you didn't say clouded leopard did you yeah she's hunting the monkeys a top monkey predator and guess what martin more good news looks like that's your main job you're the guard of the troop the bales watch out for danger while everyone else eats just use your nose to give the alarm call if you see a predator except for one little problem what i still don't have the nose alarm down well you better get it down fast because that leopard just disappeared i lost track of him okay don't worry nosey i'm on the lookout oh i wish a clouded leopard was easier to see he could be anywhere with that camouflage he'll just blend right in with the shadowy forest better practice the alarm call just in case [Music] what kind of proposes monkey has a squeaky toy for an alarm call [Music] [Music] hmm sorry false alarm [Music] it was there the whole time [Music] if we activate cheetah powers we can really zoom around the savannah looking for blur well what are we waiting for [Music] we can find blur real quick using cheetah speed okay spot swap wait for us right here [Music] what's up necktie oh yeah [Music] zigzagging through a herd of zebras no cheetah in there there nope not there either tell me about it and speaking of cheetahs we'd better check on spot swap you know you can't leave cheetah cubs alone on the savannah for too long let's go [Music] hey sorry spotswat no luck yet i mean we saw a lot of wildlife but no sign of your cheetah mom martin don't you think it's time for us to call the tortuga we could really use their help i know we could but they're gonna say we broke our promise are you really ready for all those i told you so maybe not yet chris lyon let's use our cheetah powers and get out of here i've got spot swat [Music] [Music] cheetahs are fast but they can't run fast for too long yeah they can only sprint at top speed for 45 seconds [Music] now is it time to call the tortuga maybe [Music] that's one way to get away from a lion yeah like a warthog down a hole [Music] we've fallen into some kind of chasm ah not so bad really [Music] what that chitta chirp it's coming from down here blur she must have fallen into the chasm but we found her haha we did it creature mission
