would eventually become the world famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas and the center of history channel said TV series Pawn Stars that debuted in July 2009 sadly Harrison senior affectionately called the old man passed away in June earlier this year and while Rick was left in charge of the pawn shop in his estate youngest son Christopher was completely left out of the will and he may not have been the only one from hurting the business to nearly hurting his boss here are 8 reasons why Pawn Stars fan favorite Chumlee was most likely removed from the old man's will although he is portrayed as a dimwit and pawn stars Chumlee is actually a smart businessman whose company sells his own merch and personal appearances since he is so popular and gets a lot of offers in fact Chumlee was the first of the series gasps - Brad himself and his boss Rick then bought into the business so he could have a share in the profits by selling the Chumlee merchandise in the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in addition to his successful merchandise business and lucrative reality TV gig that sees him pocketing around $25,000 per episode of History Channel's popular reality show Chumlee has also used some of his money to open a candy shop called Chumley's candy on the boulevard right across the plaza from the Gullah Silver Pawn Shop as he said in a guest column for the Las Vegas review-journal he opened the candy business with his brother sage and they will run the day-to-day operations together the shop sells nostalgic candies from the 1950s to the 1990s which is not only great news for candy lovers but also for the thousands of Pawn Stars faz that weighed in front of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop every day and that now have a slightly higher chance of catching a glimpse of Chumlee or even getting a picture with him by simply walking across the street for some sweets the honorary Harris family member has reportedly amassed a fortune of around five million dollars through his different business ventures over the years and with the right investments in the future Chumlee is probably already set for life fans of Pawn Stars loved Chumlee for his supposedly maturity and happy-go-lucky attitude that definitely bring a real entertainment factors of the show and it seems like the Harrises feel the same way which explains why they have stuck with him despite various mistakes Chumlee has made over the years that have cost the gold and silver posh out quite a bit of money in an interview with The Huffington Post Corey revealed the Chumley's biggest error in the shop happened before the show even started after someone pawned their standup basted the shop for 700 bucks Shelley leaned it against the shelf and walked away but the base fell and shattered into pieces however instead of telling his bosses about accidentally breaking the instrument he decided to shove the pieces into a box and put the phone number on the box as if nothing had happened when the owner eventually came back to get the base he obviously freaked out upon discovering it in pieces and the pawn shop had to pay the man the full value for it since it turned out to be a rare instrument the Harrises ended up writing a check for $20,000 and with bad blunders and attempted cover-ups like this one it would be totally understandable if the old man decided to cut Chumlee out of his will [Music] in March 2016 Chumlee was arrested after 12 firearms as well as some illegal substances were found during a raid of his home on account of a sexual assault allegation he took a plea deal that reduced his charges down to a felony weapons charge unlawful possession of a firearm and gross misdemeanor of attempted drug possession according to USA Today and he eventually pled guilty receiving three years of probation and counseling with the possibility of facing two to five years in prison if he violates the terms Chumley's lawyer David chest Knopf confirmed to USA Today that no charges were ever filed in the sexual assault case that originally sparked the investigation that led to the drug and gun charges and that his client had been cleared the TV star had to forfeit the guns and drugs of course but if he makes it through probation without getting into more trouble the felony will be wiped from his permanent record fortunately the whole thing did not interfere with his work on the show and chumlee remains the fan favorite but even while it was unclear whether the show's producers would fire Chumlee from the show the Harrison stuck by his side and supported their co-star and longtime family friend which is something that a lot of people would have done considering that they had a lot at stake the Harrisons in their shop surely could have lost their reputation or even worse lost the show and we are sure that this would definitely have been a pretty good reason to remove someone from their will for most people despite being a pretty smart businessman in real life Shelly still has the reputation as the lovable fool impos'd arse and it sometimes seems like he's trying his best to maintain this reputation more often than not it appears to be Chumlee who is making some bad deals at the shop and one of those was made during an episode of season 15 when he took a pretty unlucky guess on the valley of seven boxes of old comic books the seller had originally asked for $2,000 before striking a deal with Chumlee at 500 after an expert checked the comics out he came to the conclusion that they would sell for about $200 if the Pawn Stars were lucky naturally his bosses were pretty angry about the whole thing as it wasn't the first time he lost their shops and money while it might not have been that much in this case even small amounts add up eventually and knowing the old man he was surely not very happy about that in an episode of the show's very first season that aired back in 2009 Chumlee unfortunately bought a piece of fake art for 300 bucks a purchase which understandably left the old man pretty angry and prompted him to say that Chumlee shouldn't deal in art since he barely knows how to tie his own shoes because Chumlee felt that he had been working in the shop long enough to buy some cool stuff like art Rigg decided to give him a lesson in how to distinguish fake caching from a real one he started by telling Chum how the artist first takes a copper plate and then puts a layer of wax over it which is called a ground after that he takes a metal pen and writes or rather draws through the wax once he has finished the picture he pours acid over the whole thing which etches into copper where there is no wax to protect it hence the name etching in the next step the artist puts ink on the picture that can now be seen in the copper plate and then takes a piece of paper and presses the copper into it so that the picture has transferred to that piece of paper based on this process the first thing Chumlee should be looking for in an etching is whether the picture had been pressed into the paper which will leave a dent in the paper where the copper plate was pressed into it with a great weight and since the etching the Chum had Bob didn't have a dent he should have become skeptical right away but instead of admitting his mistake Chum now decided to claim that he had thought the discoloration on the paper was from the wax but Rick was to point out that this was no excuse says he hadn't found out about the process until that moment rig then showed Chumlee the brown marks the real etchings often have from the copper plates and tell them that nothing else on the paper should be brown because that would point to poor quality paper that is an acid-free to make the whole thing even more attractive to Chum Rick offered him a day off if he could pass Rick's tests and identified the real etching out of a selection of three pictures later on in the episode rig then gave Chumlee three potential Salvador Dali etchings of which le one was real and while Chumlee reminded him of the day off he was promised the old man threatened to give him the rest of his life off without pay if it didn't pass the test but even though Chum probably never made that mistake again he still screwed up plenty of times in the seasons that followed and the old man's anger about Chumley's blunders might have piled up over the years Chumlee doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed on Pawn Stars and he proved why people see him that way in the episode face the music where he was minding the shop by himself when he was offered a vintage Gibson mandolin seller mark had found the instrument of the art sale and didn't know much about it but was hoping to get enough money for it to take his family on a trip thank you unfortunately Chumlee didn't know much about it either but did notice that the sticker inside the mandolin was a newer one which meant that the instrument was in a vintage Gibson after saying that rig didn't like it when he made big deals alone he also pointed out that his boss didn't like losing out on easy money either so Chum decided to take the risk and go 500 bucks over his 1,000 dollar spending limit a friend and music shop owner later estimated the mandolins worth to be just $100 but as we all know the world famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop does not sell forgeries so the elder Harrison Matt have written this group down on the list with the others as well despite his troubles with the law Chumlee is by far the most popular of the Pawn Stars and more tourists buy his merchandise than any of the others but what most people are not aware of is the fact that he wasn't actually cast on the show at first as it was originally supposed to be a family gig until the producers decided to look for a fourth cast member as Chumlee put it there was 10 other employees in the shop and they were looking for a fourth person to put in the show and I thought to myself well I've known these guys my whole life we have good camaraderie and I'm just gonna be funny and joke with them like we would normally do and not get nervous in front of the cameras and it kind of worked out and you know when he says kind of worked out he means that he assists become a celebrity and a multi-millionaire and possibly the most hated person among the other employees of the shop however despite being the fan favorite and helping the show to excuse except Chumlee is still not part of the Harrison family and considering that the old man even removed one of his own sons from as well it couldn't have been a complete surprise if Chum was cut out as well [Music] Chumlee has spent a lot of the money he has made over the years and cars and he actually bought one of his favorite cars and camera while Chumlee immediately fell in love with the car vikas reminded him that you're supposed to pretend like you don't like it when you're buying it he was not impressed by all the stuff the owner had done to the Buick and wasn't willing to pay more than $1,500 one grand less that the seller Nader was looking to get while Corey was ready to walk away Chumlee inator agreed on a deal of $2,000 and the Pawn Stars fan favorite then took the Buick to Danny the count coker to get some custom work done the other three Pawn Stars were not very impressed when Chumlee and Danny presented the car after it was finished as there were no visible changes until Chumlee got into the car and demonstrated the newly installed hydraulic system that allows the driver to bounce around in the car while Corey and Rick couldn't stop laughing the old math simply stated that it was the most stupidest thing I've ever seen in my life he got into the car to have Chumlee give him a ride home and couldn't do anything about being bounced around himself and even though it is pretty unlikely this might have actually been the moment that Richard Harrison decided to cut the Pawn Stars jokester out of his will
