a lie oh not dead you make Matheny's alive uh nice J my brother vmx the dog is responsible for a lot of my success I said nice oh I know Hank is I'm gonna house kissing and stuff nice all is Christian from for real from real is more than fine this is a lot of it's a lot of dope you know talent out there so as always now when they down the five is makes it like a religious a religious conversation but now that's old styles dmx a [ __ ] alright now the man then let me say this you that was that was real that was tough but I need right now I mean five young [ __ ] young [ __ ] i taked Ray J cold meek Kendrick like little baby okay okay that was hard now now longevity I remember it like it was yesterday when I got that mixtape does the store it seemed like it was yesterday kiss it seemed like it was yesterday you know what it was coming out you you know you had so many mixtapes coming I did this when he still just had to take people into their to go record store they go in the back he grabbed it did you know and it came on bad boy bad boy what's she gonna do and y'all came on their bottom and [ __ ] at that moment do you think was was for you was it just a moment that you like I'm just tryin to miss [ __ ] did you think it would last this long no I didn't think it was you know I think we would be able to make a career out of me but I definitely know that that's when it was on like once we once we ain't that deal with that way back then and we use able to link up with big pop no was that wasn't good that was a good set off but right before you need to do you were still traffic he was still wasn't moves I was hustling yeah I was I was actually going to nightclubs gone to college taking some business courses and I was hustling so dee dee from Rough Riders would come pick me up from nice cool and then I would drop me off in the track I wouldn't even go home I just go right that I'm in able to do to the spire we had with my books and all that it I mean I finished school and my half story are going to the spider finished my work but you know what's crazy is a lot of people you know I think you know if you're growing up now that this time was different back in the day like news coming up wasn't like no cool thing that wasn't a coup that wasn't as cool as it is now you know it was like a thing he wasn't like Joe even my mom my pop that was our cousin song Rough Riders at 16 what they was like right ready bill I don't know he going to college this ain't no house 11 I'm that in what we got don't mean nothing was sent out monthly our son and they let me sign it so I had to wait till I was 18 because they was like nah I mean we don't good sympathy when you got young your parents about the sound cool so my friends came to the crib before for the deal my mom was like nah teddy then I always tell him I bought my mom's a house with six hundred thousand fast forward some years ahead of that I know he remember you told me failing out size down oh did you have an order when you signed the first deal definitely we had a lot of down Macmillan and roughriders was our managers at the time so that deal like we always say when we did the radio read this feeling would often you know to publish your situation but for the young up-and-coming artists is really a lawyer this your management your lawyer the people you gotta rally should be very influential in those type of decisions because it's a very you know the publishing and racket contracts could change your life for the good or the bad depending on what kind of deals hold on to you publishing is that very important oh no the publishing is the most important thing you have like you know that's your reign if you wrote something you should get paid you should get the crash you should get the publishing for it and if somebody takes it or tries to take it or pay you for you better think about it very wisely and know that this is not something you just paid for is really they gotta give some astronomical money that I don't think they want to give that's what your publishing is worth it's really not worth no dollar because it can be for you kids and their kids and they can be a former generation wealth and then on the right hand you did I use here but you know they get the young kids that don't really know and they kill them with a flash for pennies a fun woman screw him up for the longer all right now big right what is the greatest moment you have a memory did you have to be my son like a broken record but my 21st birthday he was still really new to the bad boy family and wasn't that tight with Big Mo he was cool with him and I asked him to come to our party I had a party on 175th and Broadway a spot called mold Dennis and I was like damn one hasn't come without he might be like no I really know what to expect well yeah I actually but happy it just tell cease whereas that i'ma come some like that that was that was this big I ain't tellin nobody a while because they would have made it if he ain't show up I still be feeling it to this day twenty thirty years later they still be gigging on me so I made sure I didn't tell nobody and I'm just waiting for him to come the Embassy's pulled off a little excellent hack tinnitus but I really felt yeah just I'm head big at the party while people can't believe it this is some good major yeah I was one I was also there for a lot of the making of own life after death the locks is one of the features that was on that wasn't many features on there so I was another priceless those were many priceless moments I had just stopping in his sessions while he was making light about the deference priceless experience not for me from the more frogs like just being in that studio man just you know how did you like like scene and Creed this year it was because he was coming off a car accident yeah I broke his leg it was hurt and Missy's got in the cars and him seeds of Charlie Baltimore School he was recovered when he was in the Reed rehab stage he also he actually made life after death sitting down on a stool so just to make that kind of word playing song continent literature to be sitting down to record that sit down make self is this isn't from dude standing up I can't do not cut the recordings and maybe sit down his sessions was ill because the music abhi ear piercing loud have different like a bunch of beautiful chicks the whole mafia different some men's friends Frandsen coming in and out with jaws a week and it's still one distract his thinking length he'll be like maybe he's gonna lay the song tomorrow maybe staking us on Mel's but Wow all that partying people walking by about 6:00 7:00 in the morning and he gonna bolting creates on the crush and you like this kind of crap yeah just said from dr. beat I was differ I had my home that I loved the dough I was there I seen Angela wimbush doing a hook to that there was no samples they actually have Angela where Bush come in is saying that over there was crazy home DMC was dead singing the hook home praying pray for my downfall I was in the sample DMC actually came in something just that making an album was a experience of a lifetime like to be a young young artist in the game see one of your favorite all your favorite you know artists creating some beautiful work goes across what was your favorite verse that you ever spit yourself I cannot can't I don't know I can't you know I got so many verses in the favorite of mine will probably be something I never reached never made it to radio or never had a video you know is one of them Oh joint somewhere down the line I like this you just killed it I killed it enough way I love but you know being an artist you do a lot of stuff that people love them that you really don't even like now I could have did better but it's a tricky game but what was your Forster a song let that beat you like the beat bill is you writing as you're going up the top and claim the Profi step into that boom you get a feat that you love though the first comes easy oppose them when it's something you're not really loving a beat but everybody's telling you this is a song that could be um you know possibly a Grammy nominated song low pitch song with some fellow you're working with but do so like Pharrell or Timbaland or somebody that got that history with you permit and you gotta listen to them they already have that problem with me I've never really had that problem with none of them produces that I mean because they usually make me suddenly get easier but you know sometimes you run into a wall for the foot production and but the producer gets you through it and then he make it happen but music is art by hip-hop is off it's the only art form that they put in the Fox I gotta tell you they separate country they don't make East Coast country or East Coast R&B and west coast are down this if you notice hip hop's the only one they put against each other this is West Coast rap this is down south this is Chicago this is and then you gotta be mild for that dude do they do that that we do that they do it the weaken to weaken the culture there's they see how fast is evolving it how much money hip-hop is making nowadays opposed to I was just talking about the NBA Tim Hardaway in his pops he already junior already made more than Tim Hardaway senior with one contract and if your eyes work you know his daddy was much better than so let's just showing you the same way when hip-hop is his dudes that you know making a lot of money matters so you gotta do whatever they can do this weekend the weekend the culture cuz then once take over more than you already don't yeah it's like New York rapper how do you feel about the position of New York right now and it's in this whole thing the hip-hop you know being the birth is New York you you we've had a lot of good points off-camera like you said New York is the method you gotta come to New York when you drop a album you gotta come there to sign your deal unless you really the office of fly in the private jet or take a flight to see you whatever demographic you're in but everything comes to New York believe it or not the deals is there the money is dead meaning the media is dead but it lost a lot of confidence over the years when they say the demographic sort of the face of music isn't a landlords and LA oz in Philly or anywhere else you know whatever you believe in nobody's gonna believe in you if you don't believe in yourself and that's kind of what happened with New York use it like you know me the DJ's have a lot to do with it also because it's just like anything else that we buy house alone from bandwagon oh this with a plane over there this would be playing in the club's then you just start riding the wave and it takes away from the culture book this is something you got to deal with hip hop is a big roller coaster it's a big ferris wheel and the hardest part is staying on the ferris with me and that's how it goes a lot of dudes to make a career out of this is a beautiful day and those them they don't set they mine out to do it and then the labels don't set their mind out to make a career for you either so we're just looking for that one hit thank you [ __ ] body were you looking at like that you you and a wrong you're in the wrong space it's funny you say that why hit because this he might be living in a single world when was the last time you went that it went back it used to be when I came in a game he was singing then it went back to the fold for objects now it came back to sin but that's because the labels then get with the digital when Apple when all I'm told this was a move about to make the labels and get with that and he took a man billions of dollar hits or 500 to millions they lost a lot of money lot of that came rain tone ever they had to try to get that exact 360 deals they trying to get that back so you know if they playing catch-up but the whole streaming game and all did you ever did you have any a quarter in the 360 no I can't even talk to me I won't even I won't even entertain a mean but a 360 deal well that's his foot billions of dollars or because they just happen anything that yeah 360 bills if you ask me it really for younger artists I don't really understand the game up some you know you just got some heat for the moment and they want to get it I don't really own this you know but like I said is the 360 bill is made to get the money back that they lost from way before you even can't get they hold a me try to be cool now even though that hard copy it was good money when he was selling them CDs that physical but even though the physical was gone you got a digital here do you think all the brand bills and everything that comes outside of the music everything that comes outside of just the music big money for them do you think it equal and the show winner do you think equal now versus the loss you know the guns you know the death of the hard copy it's on an individual if you were good staff if you torn consistent leave you if you cranking out merch consistently media presence online is good you'd be able to balance it out or even tip the scale to your advantage more opposed to what the hard copies would how much streaming you won't do or stuff like that now the labels follow you mm-hmm they used to be they developed if you had some upside to you and they seen some potential they'll work with you and hopefully turn you too you know I'm big artist now they have you got some momentum and they playing your music in a certain demographic of the world and people know you would have you from and they see then they'll get behind me like that they don't really want to do the work now so you got to come already you let it come you gotta come home you have to cover the company already and hopefully you know what they do because if you don't they go Charlie they go charters ain't gonna try to rocky you're gonna knock him here we go not yet oh yes oh ha ha how important is management management is very important to a certain extent you know right now we were rod mentioned in a home and bring some good deals to the table they have our only ship they're both not just signing a deal for this short piece of bread make sure you get some actually in the company and things like that so that's always a good that's always a good space to be in but management is really a tough job because everything falls on a management mm-hmm when it goes wrong is on them when it goes right is on but mostly when human die straight so you need stuff then it's the managers for that's the people that gets the runner they get the others you know they all got somebody with tough thick skin somebody with some money somebody with some resources pretty much gonna be jammed up if Vaman young hard is how are you doing I think it's a lot of people a lot of people always tell money Brittany doesn't need this how much do opposed Wi-Fi ok you're young artists you need water father it'd be good to have you know for the most part of you got a desktop in the crib oh you got some everybody got somebody that has a computer you might have your own but somebody your family a girl one of him man's got a laptop that's beneficial to you you got all these you can download iCloud you can get your YouTube page you can put your project on Apple Spotify title all of that you need no company to do that so if you got some driver you really believe in yourself it's not that it's not about the dollar and then once you building yourself up you can start selling t-shirts a scully lesson that back could fit it whatever it is then you can make some money to make that work for that do we just want it to fall out the sky they don't want to you know you got a drill whatever you got to give your Instagram you get your snapchat gave you LinkedIn they gave you Twitter they gave you so many outlets to display whatever it is you want to display but it's not going to happen overnight and if you keep working at it you'll be able to get a little revenue turn that to a little more rather than doing keep working anyway up the ladder you know because a lot of people the reason hates it because a lot of people like I think I'm gonna break I need 200 bands to get in the game I need to tripoli the Jews I need to you know a lot of people foolish dodeca leviair to utilize you know because we live in a world with anything is about style perception and a life succeed I believe so a lot of dudes get caught up with that today is the same thing you hustling not that he was also and as you know determined what are we talking about but anybody can make it if you start off with the key that me in a real hustle you just drugged it you know I mean take especially doing the hustle and grind and come from the mud up you know I mean nobody anybody want to get in the game with a large quantity of something but if you could turn a little bit something and people are respected more when you've thought when you turn the snowball to avalanche the poles are just having an avalanche and create an avalanche and you have the big snowball you can turn a little snowball and make that triple to a big outer lynch it's gonna be more money for you is gonna be more beneficial for you and people respected more cuz they see the word putting me down days is so easy and so then you think it gets mr. screw some time cuz it's so easy and they see you might be scrolling down the gram you see somebody else what they accomplished in a short amount of time but you don't know everybody's you know you don't know what everybody been through so you got to do what you can do Coverley put there what's more important though that the musical look these days but now is if this is about 50 is about 50/50 or maybe 6040 would both cuz now you need the big idea whether you need to dis certain costume to go with the music but I came in a game it was all about you still didn't even give him a certain they even come around big and red man [Music] dumb type of dudes you had that V you know you had to have some skills many care how you what you get was Michael can you gotta roll another line of you was nice he was embraced but now you can slither your way into the circle if you get a watch that looks similar to the dude standing on the couch oh you kind of Mary jeans on Oh whatever it is that to get you closer to the room to the end crap and then you know you solve some relations you might be able to work your way the world is golf for your nuff opposed to what you know and that's only go try out color skin because anything else goes through what you know and then who you know get you to the next level houses who you know and what you know come death that's just something we we not work on you know you know as I see the game I just been looking at a lot of stuff because I'm still listening to uh you know like I ran into q-tipping a couple nights ago I'm still listening to Travis I'm still alive I'm still listen to public getting me I'm still listen to the life so still listen to you know Black Moon and on sound listen all that am i listening stuff who will be somebody that group or artist assume I will be shocked that you pay Lissa tooted from the day I'll listen to Lincoln Park I'll listen to what's like those I listened it at all I listened to mod people I listened the alcoholics I listened est you still listening yes that's not listen it's now I can't believe I forgot business led by that people either you've got open your mind listen a B D because once you put yourself in a bubble that's when you're gonna start going down no I mean I have open my even is your cup of tea it not sometimes you just gotta ride out and listen to some different stuff on me while listen definitely all the Golden Arrows [ __ ] her boutique it was written some kind of classics Ice Cube America's Most Wanted God didn't listen to no kind of [ __ ] just a state failed blame I said balance feels like 20 God listen to them and you think and you get days like it was a movement going on man I was in prison and it was just unbelievable it was so powerful when I seen Jesus see Rockefeller Rough Riders Murder Inc it was just like so this [ __ ] was so powerful it was because they felt you know we had a grasp on a culture and we would do a lot of things together which is which is missing now while we get the power they just keep it in a sector opposed to sometimes when everybody was boiling sleep gone to super higher gold when you do a lot of stuff together in there it was good for the culture I think that's one of the things that's missing now I mean that was it was deep that even even as far as songs like the dissenting knees or the posi cuts with reservoir door lesson what schools are celibate Chelsea seen them inside me shits in them some type of songs no longer exist you just think about what do you think it is it seem like what do you think it is why the wider don't happen it's like a bounce um I got there's some cool over here like what it's me hip hop is a game where when dudes get some bread thing you could see that they getting some bread and they they act they act like they getting some bread come on me with that was one of Lana's things that when people said names controlling [ __ ] are they are controlling it they don't let that interfere with what's going on everybody can get bread and they still show up for each other's video or they still get on songs each other's out there were no problem hosts everywhere else could be doing I he just felt like [ __ ] 90 I'm good support Idol and it hurts everybody when you think you just you know stand on a [ __ ] tight he was doing better than you he how about you so you gonna please hit for tab with him and hurting everybody and all the poses you just taking getting you [ __ ] off I mean and that's that's the whole Atlanta thing for me they never let the outside world see if they didn't [ __ ] with each other or not they always can't do for each other or for the most part and they help they help them as a whole new album with anybody any any i'ma say pick three artists you and three other artists outside of your crew I always say Andre 3000 Stevie Wonder and now you said somebody else no Pig for though I always wanted to work three stacks it's the one one solo project or something of this that combo is just in my head know them to all my favorite hardest his taxes and stacks is definitely legendary man I know when I play his ball first came out it was a whole different [ __ ] going on yeah but then they came up with that benzo of Bheema outcast but that benzo be mild and then New Jersey drop soundtrack I remember one of Ben's RB moly but then the New Jersey Drive soundtrack will see that was annoying with JP drivers tell how is this a movie any soundtrack sorry that's on that under really go by you talk about New Jersey driving that with your [ __ ] now movies give me top five your top five movies man casino oh wow cats will go beyond dang Wow cats for good is one of my favorite continue huh Canyon New York Cody Hans I said that's it that's the frame right there Wildcats see no Wildcats what Elsa said Kenya New York you say casino Kingdom of your Wildcats thrush Rules legendary in he I knew you won't see he he listened he was one of my favorite movies he did seven pound so he listened seven pounds deep he soars it come on it just is like they not planting of the right dude that he helped right popping from Diglett dog man you know from the rip up my man they come over prison he lasted Lloyd in finish him off early the cut wasn't ready they should have stayed to visit he kept cuckoo but the ball was riding the board something something happier pink I'm begging you do this I tell you his boss his boss was on his back so he put me back together again we throw him in the grill said screw it man I go I'm gonna take this chance I I thought she was gonna say colors same way in the owner Bobby thinking anybody colors everything fishes move on CD support that back that was a malicious definitely fish but that wasn't family he definitely was blood and blood out American man out Mary partly goes way see I ain't wanna hit you at all I wanted to switch it up a little is the last drag right oh yeah I know I said that Bruce Lee where he's a legend but that's another story but the whole thing is like if I'm a young kid and I'm right here I'm watching this right now I'm on YouTube or watching this you know I'm trying to I'm trying to do this music dang it ain't panning out for me I'm not getting support from the people that I think I'm supposed to be getting support of using another day a life saying under that which is would you tell me what do you look at what do you tell this guy this right now listen to it and can you get in the game from kissed or a digital make off let me know man you're gonna need that get all you get all your outlets insane you know I mean make sure the visuals is right and keep grinding it's not it's like it's like anything else is like being in school and the teachers put a new math a new math curriculum man you ain't getting in that first you gotta just keep drilling drilling drilling drilling and eventually is what comes like wittily when i you didn't nobody Christmas in your man's demands is pulling two three cars on you well in used to only can make it to the car door you can't even go home call you once you keep practicing you gonna get it and now it's much easy they be looking for you online they be looking for new talent they looking for a movement so I mainly go on and off is with these mocha lattes or whatever they surfing the web and they looking for you so it ain't even we had to go stand outside and be annoying and pass out CDs and get them frisbee in the street right now me going to the office looking for town so it's right there for you each a cloud up each other LinkedIn up beat your Twitter up get everything you need to be all-in-one and drilling just keep drilling you know I mean your power is the more music you got in your hard drive the more knowledge you got about the game I'm in a giving up 360 stills make sure you know what everything about a 360 deal that you can know make sure you know everything about a production tip make sure you know everything that they're gonna try that you can imagine um actually you make sure you got as much knowledge as you can before you sign your life away before you sign yourself into a situation that you don't want to be and you'll be out of it you do a lot of praying have a good staff around you're gonna be I even it was just you some people you grew up with give everybody a job to do make sure everybody executes you can't lose now one last question well you've got that song how long do you write this song before you drop another song you believe in it you write it is really see these dudes with the internet is a double-edged sword cuz it they can it can make you in five minutes it can break you in five minutes but if you if you don't just if you exclude the five minutes and use it to your advantage you can help me Alicia Keys turn it into a superstar if I album that was ten years old so that means she believed in one level told her they say men she didn't let that discourage a single take eight months for real for real he gets heavy weight so if they playing [ __ ] in the first two weeks I don't mean it ain't a billboard where these single hot song you got it you believe in the state send your man to the DJ booths and keep posting and use all your resources on me don't let them tell you this evening that's they decide to tell you that to save them less money and less working less no I mean you got a pump you got a push that's one thing I was spying for he do his rants but he do what he believed in and make the world get on his way you know he made you come into his work you could call him crazy who call him whatever but I bet his all said and done you sitting there looking at Sunday service you sitting in trying to get there no eases you sit in it you want to know what's going on with you spending that money and you spending that money in Iceland you know what he don't gotta drill it if you believe nobody's gonna believe in you if you don't believe in yourself and that's from regulating the iSchool culture you whatever it is your girlfriend if you don't got that self-confidence it's not gonna come from nowhere else that's just the bottom line at the end of the day man this man every time I see you should we love you always support you were one of my best sees in this dude came off from throwing the dog there's no excuse he came home from throwing the dog he came around oops that was just out here deserve disturbers and oxygen wasters he's doing better than them know it's funny but it's real [ __ ] I thought he did it a dog he came out he figured it out he dipped his head in books he however you have to give his information and resources and he's execute from the merge from the podcast from this that he get on the road you see them moving that's what it's about it's not nothing's gonna come sitting down nothing's gonna come you got to go out there get it make the people believe and then it all started that turns in revenue and that's just the bottom line once you when you know some people once you know how to talk you think it happened a little fascinating things you start working for you but other than that you gonna draw a blank you ain't got no motivation no Drive no get go on man you've got too much pride the start something off you mean there's a lot of dude with dudes we talent that they pride is interrupting them from from putting a nice meal on a plate and that's really nice in any good right in Philly we all buy old Callie is some dudes with some talent but they scared of people seeing them going through the bootcamp of it so they don't know it they never approached this situation nothing it's mostly without colored me our color it's most that fact I'll have too much pride way is blocking it is it's keeping your plate from putting the right amount of food you want it on because you got too much pride don't know that it's gonna hurt Ewing alone especially if you got kids I've got five one graduated college already Lana Clark Atlanta got four more to go and that's the mission tunnel vision there's no excuses there's no way of fans of butts the olive for gotta get their degree then my job is done me then ask me some dudes trying to get the new Richard Mille some dudes is trying to do live for the brain by one my for all the four kids to graduate college and then no I mean I'm good with I can ride out into the sunset up you know my oldest a little Josie that our Lord jano we're single bill yeah that's what it's about man on me it's all about that man and I'm gonna just say this man once again I appreciate you bro this way is wild little man Jadakiss edition man Yonkers edition there's a fully man is just white
