tonight we're joined by three families the grown-ups are gonna stay here with me in a studio to see what happens when their kids are transported to a school rigged with hidden cameras the kids think they're off for a regular day at school but we're actually gonna be watching them so that we can see how well their families know them by asking what would your kid do shall we meet tonight's kids grown-ups the pressure is now on because it's not about the kids being good or bad or right or wrong it's all about you and how well you can predict what they're going to do in these various situations were about to see so no one is to blame although if there was someone to blame then it would be you whoever could most accurately predict their child's behavior will get to play for some amazing family prizes at the end of the show for our first visit to the school well we'll find out how good the kids are at keeping secrets with a little help for a metalic teaching assistant welcome secrets nope I do keep secrets for one because sometimes Betsy it cuts about moo-namis farts absolutely smell six apparently kids have the cognitive skills to keep a secret but whether they do depends on if it affects them personally hi guys we're gonna have a little maths lesson now and Rita is going to run it is to greet her would you mind if I just go off and tidy my papers in the staff room what is 3 plus 3 6 I mean we're doing maths but I think we can be having more fun in here are you all good at keeping secrets oh yeah I think we should have a secret dance party what do you guys think the teacher about Rita's mini race have been enjoying a secret party hosted by Rita but when questioned by the teacher will your kids tell the truth about the party families let's lock in our answers so Sienna definitely tell the teacher because well if it had been me or her then she would lie but I think Zachary definitely will he's right so what you're saying is is that Jack won't tell the scores looked like this see Anna's family have no points but Zachary's and Jack's families ahead with one the kids are about to meet a very magical classroom assistant let's have a look when you're six years old it can seem like magics everywhere I've seen a real-life fairy well it was in Wales you can guess what we're gonna be doing this afternoon I have powers what helps me free stuff what assistant will now train our kids as a magician's apprentice hi Fiona I'm going to do a magic trick and then you're gonna do it and see if you can do as well all right yes is it a plane is it a bird no it's my magic the wind from your water yeah cuz when you do this it makes it should make wind would you lights have a girl yeah is it a plane is just a bird no it's my magic world keeps afternoon I think you're ready for the top hat waiting on back at the age of six the part of the brain that controls impulses is still developing so when put in this very tempting situation will our kids be able to resist using the magic wand or not [Music] former so now the magicians left the room will your kid give magic another go okay families let's lock in our answers Wow across the boards Jonathan you clean pretty adamant there spell you're like yes it's curious inquisitive okay yeah but we fav somebody left me in a room when I come at it one don't you act give it a girl maybe that's the next series ya know we'll definitely ever go as well dear I think she'll have a go mainly because I think she knows it's a trick and she'll trying to figure out how and you think jack will give it another go does he do any sort of magic at home so you see the hand ones it was amazing it was like how how's he done that I just keep stopping right there and he was right throughs amazing so you all think you thought it give it a try but it did not yeah shocked with all the disappoints it ever did the right thing like why the one time we want him to well that is no points of view on this occasion let's see what that's done to the scores see Anna's family around zero Jack's family have one and Zachary's family headed into the lead with two points well good next up the kids think they're having a science lesson but were actually testing their problem-solving skills let's have a look [Music] by six years old most children's problem-solving ability is increasing and improving problems in the whole world that we need to solve that we're not solving them at the moment there's one yeah okay Zachary give me one more problem that needs solving finally someone on my wavelength what would you do about frown Zachary I'll take away the time we want to put Zachary see Anna and Jack's problem solving ability to the test to see if they can work out that the best solution isn't always the most obvious all you have to do is fill that G of container up with water so that the duck floats up to the top and if you can get it to the top you will win the duck now you can use what's on the table to fill that up with water using a watering the trough I'm gonna give you five minutes to do it as any little genius will tell you the quickest way to do this is not to use any of utensils you ready but instead use the jar they are stored in steady but will any of our kids figure this out without with the first thing you do I'll use the jar cross my mind so do you think your child will work it out let's lock in those answers families see what you decide so yes yes and a no okay it's a big ask I've got a say but see Anna so far is proving you wrong every single time but suddenly you're like I've got this one totally the opposite bump thinking that you'll figure it out eventually yeah Jack now he understands some of the biggest problems on earth do you think you would have worked those skills Zachary or she got against clouds [Laughter] maybe I need to thank you or maybe you shouldn't go to the circus he's gonna start lecturing the clowns on respect okay we'll just to recap you think that
