What If Nintendo Characters Got Older?

it's hard to believe that the same company that started off making playing cards gave us all these incredible videogame characters a Nintendo has created plenty of iconic heroes from Mario to link but have you ever wondered what it would look like if our favorite Nintendo characters aged we have and so have these incredible artists now before we begin hit that subscribe button to stay up to date with the gamer and ring that bell to become a part of our notification squad so you never miss a video without further ado here's how some Nintendo characters would look if they aged link link has gone through a lot in the Legend of Zelda franchise the games typically follow the same plot link goes on a journey through the many dungeons of Hyrule gets the master sword fights Ganon and saves Princess Zelda pretty much every game is like this except Majora's Mask which is why people tend to love or hate the game don't get us wrong we love these tried and true plots and the games are amazing but something doesn't make sense why does link always look just as young as he was in the original Legend of Zelda for NES we know we know the link in the first Legend of Zelda isn't the same one in the breadth of the wild link is from a lineage of other heroes sworn to protect Hyrule surely at least one of these links is an elderly fellow and artist Damian cat early tried to depict what an old link would look like it's truly an amazing piece of art we see link and his typical get up with what seems to be the Hylian Shield on his back and the master sword in his right hand maybe throughout the years the purple hilt faded to gold either way he looks like he's seen some really bad things and we wouldn't want to mess with them that's for sure Luigi Oh Luigi you're one of the most popular and recognizable video game characters in the world yet you're still living in your brother's shadow sure you've got Daisy and you have a simpler life than Mario but we can tell you're just dying to become the star of the show even the year of Luigi in 2013 wasn't enough to satisfy your hunger to be the guy at Nintendo coincidentally 2013 was a down year for Nintendo well it probably isn't a coincidence it was definitely Luigi's fault that being said the tall and cowardly Mario brother has done quite well for himself he began as the player to sprite and Super Mario Bros for the NES in 1985 before starring in the education game Mario is missing in 1993 and later in his own adventure Luigi's Mansion in 2001 it's taken nearly two decades but Luigi has to be happy with where he is today he's still in his brother's shadow but he's developed and he's carved his own path and we love him for it you'd figure with all this stress to work his way up the ranks at Nintendo all these years would get to him and artists at Mill ham thought the same thing while Sam mill ham makes him look like an absolute monstrosity it's the green eyebrows and the giant nose that stand out to us he must have stepped into some radioactive goop or something Pikachu when it comes to the world of Pokemon there's none more recognizable than the mascot of them all Pikachu Pikachu is the adorable electric type Mouse Pokemon we've all come to know and love having a Pikachu as a starter and pokemon yellow was so fun and a big part of our childhood he was completely overpowered so just imagine if he was actually able to evolve into a Raichu since we're on the topic of nostalgia we also look back on Pikachu and ash Ketchum's relationship in the anime with fond memories Pikachu has definitely left his mark on the anime and video game world and we don't see that changing anytime soon every Pikachu looks the same no matter what age they are but artists aren't pen decided to show us what an elderly Pikachu would look like and it's still really cute the body and tail of the Pikachu is the same with no wrinkles but his ears are not the same they are a little saggy and don't have the perkiness they once did please don't take that out of context we also love the glasses and the walker with tennis balls underneath it but there's just something weird about Pikachu with a beard Kirby Hervey is one of the most interesting characters in gaming her starters he's a cute round pink ball with arms and legs his cuteness means that he could appeal to children as well as adults which is great for Nintendo since they want their games geared towards gamers of all ages he also has an interesting power being able to suck up his enemies and take their abilities if they have any this is great because you won't get bored of using the same moves over and over again with all his battles against Meta Knight and King Dedede you think Kirby would be aging and slowing down if he would get to the point where he can't fight anymore he might look like what artist Justin P the one drew up here we see an elderly Kirby with an oxygen tank Megaman yes we know Megaman isn't a Nintendo character but he made his mark in the gaming world on Nintendo consoles so we feel like he deserves a spot in this video since the original Mega Man was released for the NES in 1987 the mascot of Capcom has starred in dozens and dozens of games Megaman wouldn't be where he is today if it wasn't for Nintendo we absolutely love this upgradeable robot and all of his friends such as Rahl and proto man while Megaman is a robot and can't age in the traditional sense that didn't stop artist Alex solace from showing us what the Android would look like as an elderly bot the dark blue sections of the suit still look good but the light blue ones not so much it's all very wrinkly and Megaman just can't seem to keep his robot eyes open Sonic the Hedgehog again Sonic isn't a Nintendo character but Sega and Nintendo have been working together for a while now and many of the newer sonic games are nintendo console exclusives so we felt like giving the speedy blue hedgehog a shout-out since making his debut on the Sega Genesis in 1991 Sonic the Hedgehog has become one of the faces of gaming and the mascot of Sega sadly from Sonic oh 6 onward the Hedgehog has starred in some ABS lutely terrible games that don't do the gaming legend justice of course sonic mania was a huge success because it brought Sonic back to his roots as a 2d side-scrolling platformer as Sonic gets tired of starring in bad games maybe he'll think of retiring hopefully when he decides he no longer has to go fast he won't look like the old Sonic artists a cloud created gone is the blue you come to know and love being replaced by a gloomy gray he looks more like a disheveled silver the Hedgehog than anything we really like the different colored eyes the wooden stick cane and the Wizards beer we're sure our speed loving Hedgehog still has plenty left in the tank but it's good to know Sonic will look awesome when he gets old Ash Ketchum he catch you may be the most recognizable pokemon out there but the most recognizable person in the Pokemon world is definitely Ash Ketchum the main character of the anime he may not have been officially in any of the video games but he's based off of red the player character from generation ones pokemon red blue and yellow ash has been on one hell of a journey with his trusty Pikachu that just doesn't seem to end every time he goes to a new region he leaves most of his Pokemon behind except for Pikachu it's safe to say their Bros and house the interesting thing about Ash Ketchum is that he just doesn't seem to age he's still 10 years old just like he was when the anime began it doesn't make sense because it's impossible to do everything he's done in the span of one year if Ash Ketchum could age he would look like this piece of art from Alex solace he just looks gross like the Megaman we showed earlier wrinkles or daze and a large overbite code those are the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom and the servants of Princess Peach there are plenty of toads throughout the land but peaches closest companion is toad who you could play as in the video games toad made his debut of the original Super Mario Bros for NES where he would constantly tell Mario the princess was in another castle he said it seven times in the game before Mario finally defeated Bowser to get Princess Peach thanks toad if toad was to get old he look a lot like toadsworth from super mario sunshine he would go for the posh British look with the fancy vast the small monocle like glasses and the mushroom King Yoshi similar to toad there are plenty of Yoshi's in the Mushroom Kingdom but only one of them is the Yoshi we see in the video games and it's the same one each time Yoshi is one of Mario's most trusted companions sure his brother Luigi is always there for him but he's a bit of a scaredy-cat Yoshi isn't afraid of anything he just swallows enemies hole and spits them back out with a force capable of dealing some big damage what's interesting about Yoshi is that despite being around Mario when he was a baby he looks exactly the same now that Mario's all grown up if yo she actually aged we're sure he looked like elder Yoshi elder Yoshi is a character designed by a Sierra dov'è Jax 9 for the fan-made flash series smash fighters Z he literally just looks like a regular Yoshi with long gray hair and a mr. Miyagi likes short beard but it shows us exactly what an older Yoshi would resemble Mario of course we saved the best for last Mario is hands-down the most iconic Nintendo character of them all after all he's the mascot of the company making his debut in the 1981 arcade classic Donkey Kong as jump man Mario has turned into a hero since the 1985 Smash Hits Super Mario Bros this Italian plumber has been stomping on goombas and going down pipes in the Mushroom Kingdom he's saved princesses and made tons of friends along the way even though Bowser is his arch enemy and they've squared off against each other on so many occasions throughout the years they still team up in times when the going gets tough it's nearly impossible to dislike Mario and he's a celebrity in the Mushroom Kingdom artist Sam mill ham shows us how Mario would look as an elderly man and it's quite scary his hair and moustache have turned gray and he's put on quite a few pounds he did a good job keeping his getup in shape but we have no idea what happened to his ears well there you have it which of these elderly Nintendo characters do you like the most what's your favorite Nintendo franchise let us know in the comments section below and don't forget to subscribe to the gamer for more videos just like this one thanks for watching [Music]
