god the father i just want to let you know there is no other name like his some people if this let's just say this speaker was was was uh an addiction weed alcohol pornography they bow before these things and let them take them into captivity but if you can see today that all sickness all disease all addiction all of it bows before jesus christ that none of it can stand in his presence and by his name but right now we begin to to in the name of jesus we take everything that tries to make us subject to it and we put our feet over it because in his name he said you shall trample on serpents and scorpions and over all power of the enemy come on so praise god today there is no power greater than him there is no name greater than him come on and give him a praise right now praise god thank you lord for your name you have all authority all power in heaven [Music] so we stand today in victory and we stand to pray why do we pray pastor we pray because god envisioned he dreamed of a kingdom a priest one got quiet in here he dreamed of a kingdom of priests all right read it in ezekiel as rather exodus 19 6. read it in revelation 1 5 he dreamed of a kingdom of people who would bring his kingdom in heaven to earth and you do that through your prayer priest you do that through your prayer priest yes you are a priest of god you say i'm a female you're a priest of god female you're a priest of god male you're a priest of god teenager your priest of god senior sinners and we're all priests of god that's what god says so i want you to pray his kingdom come and come on earth as it is in heaven there's no cancer in heaven there's no bondage in heaven there's no demons and devils that will trump you in heaven may his kingdom come as it is in heaven today in your heart in your life amen pray for president trump and melania to recover all of his cabinet that have corona all those that are battling corona we pray for those jesse dobbs is doing well we pray for jesse dobbs who had uh a cancer surgery that was successful and carol seiler who had a brain surgery that was tremendously successful praise god for that god you know in this church we've had reports of god healing coronavirus i don't know if you know that or not but we thank god that god can do anything so today corona has to bow in the name of jesus cancer has to bow in the name of jesus devils have to bow in the name of jesus everything bows at the name of jesus amen so let's pray together father in the name of jesus oh yeshua salvation prince of god prince of israel we praise you today we pray in jesus name and his person and in his work and we bind every principality and power rules of wickedness that tried to war against us we bind their attack in jesus name and then jesus then we bind corona we lose healing over president trump and melania trump we lose healing over his cabinet we lose healing over every american that's battling corona lord heal him and heal our land of corona in the name of jesus we loose the healing of god and we also lose revival from god and lord all this would cause us to return to you lord we return to you come on somebody we return to the lord and may our nation return to the lord today we call and loose revival in every heart and every home we loose god the healing of god in every life lord as mental illness has gone up and suicide has gone up while we lose hope from jesus we lose salvation we lose peace from god we lose provision and love from jesus upon every person in america we pray in jesus name that your divine grace would fall upon our land you would heal our ladies lord heal our lord heal our land we pray lord in jesus name we give you glory praying for all these in our church that have come through surgery all those that are in nursing home con blessing all those that are online now we pray blessing blessing upon your people and lord we give you praise today we pray for israel we pray for peace in jerusalem we pray for peace and their borders we pray for the increasing revelation of jesus to be their messiah and salvation of the jews though we thank you today lord that lord you are saving the jewish people like never before lord we give you praise for the signs and wonders of god we release your signs and wonders among us right now come on somebody believe god for a sign and a wonder we release healing in your body in the name of jesus we release deliverance we bite break every bondage from your life in the name of jesus we loose you say we have peace in the lord in the name of the lord jesus we give you provision we lease to the provision of the lord jesus christ that according to his riches in glory by christ jesus that he will supply all of your need so we give praise to you today lord thank you for freeing us thank you lord for delivering us thank you for healing us thank you for healing our land and our president and his wife and our cabinet and all those in our nation we give you the glory in the name like learning your abcs of faith you know you're kind of learning to trust god when you tithe right you're learning to depend that he can do more with your 90 than you can do with your 100 besides that you don't get 100 you the government takes a lot of it right i praise god anyway but we're here today to worship god and covenant and worship him in truth not just in spirit so as you worship him god will bless you and we bless you it's great to have my sister-in-law ginger robinson here today he's from cleveland tennessee did you give her a great welcome today glad to have her and i'll be i want to assure you that we are going to be doing uh everything to make it a safe one and that we've changed a lot of the things that won't be the bouncies out there but there'll be other um interactive games that we'll provide to be coveted friendly and so forth and so on and again kids blitzen here will be in the sanctuary especially distance and so it'll be safe that's why we're having people register because that prevents us from having large crowds gathered at a single time so we're doing all this to reach kids and parents and families for christ so then steve ritter will be with us the very next day the basketball coach of emory riddle and he's a tremendous christian and we are looking forward to winning souls in our community that he draws in on that day please pray with me feast of tabernacles meal as featured tabernacles began on sundown friday this last weekend and then we had a tremendous teaching time from my itinerary teacher rabbi miller and it was a great time together nearly 100 people there had a great time sharing together today we welcome rabbi miller and his wife joe back to volusia county they have spent 30 years in ministering in two different churches one of them was in ormond beach for 13 years so they are coming back to volusia county amen and we're excited about them returning to volusia county they were over at first assembly friday night as the feast of tabernacles began with my good friend mike monica and first assembly over there and then here with us yesterday and then today and tonight now all of you churchill got people that have been won a sunday night service where we got you one tonight so i better see you all here you said hey i wish we'd have a sunday night service but we got one i'll be looking for you all right it starts at 6 p.m tonight we're going to have a special hebraic dance as well and miss andrew sanford is going to lead a team in a hebraic dance so it's going to be a great time of the joy of the lord you know the feast of tabernacles focused on joy so we're going to be having the joy of the lord tonight as we wrap up israel and the end times rabbi jerry miller has been and his wife joe nearly 40 years uh maybe over 40 years now in messianic ministry that is messianic ministry is those that are jewish that accept jesus as their messiah and savior and lord and so he's teaching on those principles around the world with gateways and beyond he's an itinerant teacher also with tikkum i don't know if i said that quite right but he'll he'll correct it for me that is another ministry that they are part of so they are itinerant you know the bible says in ephesians 4 11 about the itinerant fivefold ministry one of them is teacher this is one of those teachers that are traveling the the church abroad and teaching about what god is doing not only in israel but the jewish people and what he's doing the gentile church so we are honored today to have uh both brother jerry and sister joe sister joe will be doing a uh prophetic ministry at the end and so stick around it's going to be fantastic but would you give a great city sanctuary welcome to rabbi and joe miller today [Music] thank you so much pastor mark it's it's really such a a joy for us to be with you um we we as he mentioned volusia county was our home for 13 years but we feel very much at home right here even as we visit and we're so so glad to be with you um pastor mark mentioned a little bit of what we do and that really we were in uh we had been leading beth judah messianic congregation for 13 years when when the lord really kind of interrupted us and dramatically began a process of about a year and a half of speaking to us and telling us we would be leaving our congregation and moving into something very very different and really it had been very much in our hearts and growing in our hearts to be imparting more and more to the next generations to encourage the younger generations to rise up in the lord and to take their place in in preparing the way for jesus return and that's what we've been doing for these past uh these past years since 2013 when we left orman beach and uh our our ministry now we really travel to many places around the country and and and other nations of the world as well uh just ministering as the lord opens up those those opportunities so if if you are interested we would love to be able to keep in touch with you and if you are interested in uh in keeping in touch with us i would just encourage you i believe on the the table in the lobby as you go out you'll find and just share uh share some things with you it's it's uh just to share some things that i believe are very really large in the heart of god when i spoke with with pastor mark some weeks ago he he asked if i would come and share he he talked about that that he would be doing a series based on matthew 24 and did i have some things to share on israel and the end times i said well i'm glad you asked because i've got quite a bit that i can share and uh glad to be here with you sharing sharing along those lines but he he asked if i would talk about how israel fits in to the biblical narrative of the last days so i want to share with you this morning we began yesterday afternoon we're going to continue tonight and tonight by the way we'll be looking at the key really the key event in salvation history which will be which is the second coming of jesus we'll be focusing on the second coming tonight and some things we can expect to be seeing in the world taking place in the world around us that would lead up to that event so we hope you can you can make it for tonight's time um but this morning i want to share uh some kind of an overview on some things related to the biblical importance of the city of jerusalem clearly we are living in a time in which there's much debate there's there's much disagreement about jerusalem and um there's disagreement about who should govern jerusalem who does the city even belong to you might recall the reaction worldwide when president trump moved the u.s embassy from tel aviv to jerusalem and how how outraged so many were and really it's it's it's only as we discover and understand the biblical view of jerusalem that we can see why this city is a source of such passionate debate and disagreement and even conflict but you see god himself has specific plans specific intentions related to jerusalem and so i want to take a look at this this morning to get a sense of jerusalem's importance in the ultimate kingdom purposes of god jerusalem is actually at the center of god's heart for world redemption see even though we're we're talking about jerusalem but it's not just about the jewish people it's not just a jewish thing this is about world redemption it's about god redeeming nations and as we come to understand this it will help us i think see why there is such great battle today over the city of jerusalem why there's such spiritual warfare waged against the jewish people there so if you turn to psalm 122 i want to just read a passage there i was looking at this some time ago and i was i was focusing on verse three so let's let's read psalm 122 verse 3. jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together very simple statement but i was thinking about the wording here some time ago that jerusalem is built as a city compact together well the word that's translated the hebrew word that's translated as compact it's a hebrew word chaver and what that means is friendship so of course it's a word that implies a bringing together of people that's what friendship is it's it's people coming together in a heart unity and so of course i i i was i was thinking about that well that is god's purpose for jerusalem it's a city meant for the bringing together of people well then i looked up in another translation a translation called the complete jewish bible and the wording that was used was this it said jerusalem is built as a city fostering friendship and unity now why is this important it's important because it shows us god's intent for jerusalem to be central and actually unifying the nations of the earth well isn't that interesting because the the city of jerusalem is is a is a city that has that that that actually has had the effect of being a cause for much division and conflict but god has had jerusalem in mind from the very beginnings of his plan for bringing his kingdom to this earth and banishing satan and all of his forces of darkness this is the destiny of jerusalem bringing people together even as its very name from the hebrew tells us the hebrew word for jerusalem is yerushalayim which basically means foundations of peace god has this destiny for jerusalem and so it really should not surprise us when we see the conflict that has characterized this city's history why very simply because what god plans satan opposes what god has a heart for satan desires to destroy and interfere with he can't ultimately the devil cannot ultimately prevail but he does oppose the plans of god so while god has this plan for jerusalem being a city that brings the people of the earth together the enemy has tried to use it for the very opposite now i want to develop this idea a little bit because we are to see that god's work of salvation as we see it taught through the bible i'm talking about the broad scope of the scriptures god's work of salvation is really so much bigger than the idea of simply us as individuals getting saved and brought into relationship with god i mean yes that's central to his plan obviously for us as as individuals and thank god for that but really we need to understand salvation is something that impacts the whole earth the whole order of creation it's much bigger than just our individual lives so as god is seeking to bring his work of restoration to humanity and then as god is also seeking to bring restoration even to this earth to all of creation somehow jerusalem is key to this whole picture of god bringing restoration to all of his creation now what i want to do this morning is to quickly touch on what i would call the 10 key events of salvation history i'm sure we could come up with quite a few more but this is these were kind of the 10 things that i felt like like the lord led me to focus on but these 10 key events in these 10 key events i want to show how jerusalem is central to every one of these 10 key events don't worry we're not going to be here until here till 5 o'clock we're going to go through these very quickly so let's consider ten key events of salvation history and see how each one is tied to jerusalem number one the initial event of salvation history was the creation of the garden of eden and the placing of adam and later eve in that garden it was there that god placed the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil it was there in that garden that god had fellowship with adam and eve it was from there that adam and eve were to rule the earth as god had given them dominion over the earth they were to rule and extend the blessing of the garden of eden to to cover the entire earth the garden was the center of all created life but then it also became the place where man yielded to sin over to the devil when as the devil became the ruler of this world the god of this world small g the god of this world now you may be wondering wait a minute what is what does that have to do with the garden of eden have to do with jerusalem well i touched on this yesterday real briefly but didn't go into any explanation i'm gonna have a little explanation today i personally believe that the garden of eden was located in what we now know to be jerusalem and in a few minutes i'll share a little more that's the case but just to address a couple things initially many believe that the garden was located much further east from jerusalem then and they point to references in genesis to the tigris and euphrates rivers but the bible doesn't say that the garden was located at this at the location of the tigris and euphrates rivers it says they're flowed out from the garden a river that itself parted and eventually formed four more rivers among them the tigris and euphrates now if you look at a map today there are no rivers flowing out from jerusalem that could could possibly form into the other four rivers mentioned but think about it genesis 2 10 says that this river flowed to water the garden gardens need watering right even a supernatural garden pair of paradise that god created the gardens need water then it says it also went further and parted to become four other rivers what happened to the garden after adam and eve sinned and were driven out it says god set cherubim around the garden to keep adam and eve from getting back in now we can assume that over time because it's never accessed again by man and then there's no reference to it even existing after after genesis chapter three well how do you cause a a garden to die very simply you cut off its water supply so i have no no problem believing that god could have caused that river to dry up that river that water today with the result being the garden of eden died out and disappeared now understand i realize what i'm saying here doesn't prove anything but it just gives us a basis for considering that it's not impossible for jerusalem to have been the location of the garden and again we'll look a little bit later at why i believe it actually has to be the location so assuming that that this theory is correct we've got the initial event of salvation history and even human history itself beginning with jerusalem man living in fellowship with god in the garden and ruling the earth from the garden and that taking place in what is now known as as jerusalem number two isaac by abraham you may remember the story abraham and sarah were childless sarah was barren they were over a hundred years old they were they were unable to have children but god said you will have a son and he and i'm paraphrasing here but he will be the key to your family line becoming a nation of people that will ultimately give birth to the to the to the one who would bless all the families of the earth we know that from genesis 12. meaning the messiah so god gives them miraculously this son isaac but then something very strange very unusual happens in genesis 22. god appears to abraham and he tells him abraham i want you to take your son isaac and the hebrew in genesis 22 is is so beautiful and so powerful because god the way god puts it he says i want you to take your son your son isaac the one whom you love and i want you to offer him as a sacrifice amazing thing we said why that seems so strange well under realize for one thing that the false gods that the nations worshipped in that they would require the people believed that they were required to offer their firstborn very often in order to appease that false god so in a way remember abraham came from an idol worshiping background in a sense what god was requiring of abraham probably didn't seem that strange to him although it seems strange to us but it probably did seem strange in light of the fact that this son was the son of miraculous birth who was to be the father of this nation that would carry the covenant promises but we know the story abraham takes his son he's ready to sacrifice him and then the angel of the lord appears and he says no you're not going to have to do it i've provided you with the sacrifice and then abraham looks in the thicket and he sees a ram in the thick and he realizes god has provided what an amazing just thinking about that the goodness of god because abraham to all of the other the the the peoples of the nations that worshiped false gods they did not have a god who could actually intervene and say i'm going to take care of this myself but yet our god does that he says i'm requiring this because i want to see what's in your heart but i've got it covered and that's how god is with us as well beloved now we know this took place on mount moriah where abraham was ready to sacrifice isaac which is known to be among the mountains of jerusalem well this is this was the the key event in god making covenant with abraham and abraham responding to the covenant by offering up his only son see what's crucial in this event pastor referred to it a little while ago is the principle of priestly intercession see god's works god works in redemptive ways in this world based on the principle of priestly intercession in other words god seeks people who in faith would come into a place of a covenant partnership with god you say why is my prayer so important because it's part of your covenant partnershiping with god himself god has said you have a part in what happens on the earth come on come into partnership with me and you walk this out through praying through interceding through worship of course god accept or abraham accepted god's invitation to come into covenant partnership so that god could work through abraham to bring blessing and redemption to the world so god so abraham gives up his only son in obedience to god but again now why did god even require this i think there's something else we need to see here in ancient times when two parties entered into a covenant each showed their commitment to the covenant by their willingness to give up to the other the most precious thing that they had this was the ultimate act of faith obedience to which god himself could then respond by giving his son for the salvation of the world friends god is looking for a people of faith and god responds to the faith of his people here on earth god was planning all along to give his only son for the salvation of the world but see here's the thing he was looking for a man a person a human being who would show his own faith and covenant loyalty by his willingness to do the same to give up the most precious thing in his life his only son why because that's how covenant worked as the two parties to a covenant had to be equally committed god was already committed he had to see that abraham was equally committed by willingness to give up his own son and of course we know the story he did not ultimately have to give it give up isaac because god himself intervened and it's interesting the parallels between isaac and jesus are are so powerful even down we don't have time to look into it but even down to the detail of isaac carrying the wood that was to be that that was to be burned for the offering just as yeshua jesus carried the cross the tree the wood to which he would be nailed so in jerusalem the sacrifice of isaac was a key event that i would say set things in motion spiritually for god to move forward with his plan to ultimately send for send his son for the salvation of the world i encourage you read read that passage sometime soon and and just familiar familiarize you again with genesis chapter 22 it's such a powerful passage number three jerusalem was the location for the temple that would be built many centuries later the temple of course was foundational in salvation history because it was the center of the whole priestly system of blood sacrifices sacrifices that pointed to the ultimate sacrifice that would be made by jesus himself the temple we know was in jerusalem originally well the temple the tabernacle was originally the place where the sacrifices happened when israel was in the wilderness but but uh once solomon had built the temple the temple was the place of those sacrifices that pointed to the ultimate sacrifice of yeshua it was probably at or near that place on mount moriah where abraham brought isaac for sacrifice number four jerusalem was the place where jesus was crucified and resurrected this is obviously the the ultimate event that has taken place so far in salvation history yeshua dies for the the sins of humanity his blood is shed and the power of sin is broken as he lays down his life on the cross now the issue of the cross is important because we know the the romans formed the wood into the into the shape of a cross but the idea here is that that yeshua was nailed to a tree now why is that important it's it was at at the place of a tree that adam and eve disobeyed and brought the curse of sin to the world but in order to fulfill all righteousness jesus had to go back to the place of a tree in order to reverse the disobedience of adam and the curse that that brought to the earth i'm not saying that it's the action the same actual tree but i said it's the principle that's the point this is the principle this is a principle of how god works in the process of redemption and restoration god requires that we go back to the source in dealing with the problem of sin adam ate from the tree and brought the curse upon all mankind in reversing that curse yeshua went back to a tree where he would pay the price in order to redeem mankind and for the power of that curse to be broken this too took place in jerusalem which is one reason why i believe the garden of eden was in jerusalem in order to redeem god goes back to where the problem began to deal with the problem at its very roots sin came into the world at the place of the garden of eden and so the power of sin was broken at the place of i believe the garden of eden and again later we'll get to why i believe it must be the case number five jerusalem was the place where the where the holy spirit was poured out on the disciples on the day of in hebrew the word is shavuot other uh the greeks the the anglicized word from shavuot is pentecost the day of pentecost the day of the birth of the church really the spirit of god being poured out this is a key event in salvation history it's this outpouring of the holy spirit that makes it possible man in covenant with god through yeshua to take part literally in the miraculous works of god jesus said we would do the works that he would do that he did for man to actually do the works of jesus because we received the empowerment of his spirit so then jerusalem was the place for the outpouring of god's power prophesied in joel chapter 2. number six jerusalem was the center from which world evangelism and we could say world missions remember yeshua said to his disciples you will receive power after the holy spirit is poured out and you will be my witnesses in jerusalem and judea and samaria and to the uttermost parts of the earth and the way yeshua states it here in acts 1 8 jerusalem is the center jerusalem is the beginning point it begins in jerusalem and flows outward to the outermost parts of the earth it's a key event in salvation history as this command of jesus becomes the basis for taking the covenant that god had made with israel and bringing the blessings of that covenant to all the nations that's number six number seven jerusalem is key in relation to the what the new testament refers to as the times of the gentiles being fulfilled so what does that even mean well we'll we'll get a little we can get a little bit of an idea of it as we look at a couple of of key verses that mention it luke chapter 21 verse 24 jesus is speaking his disciples had asked him what's going to be taking place in the last days what can we expect to be seeing and he makes this statement he says jerusalem will be trodden down by the gentiles meaning it will be in gentile control jerusalem will be trodden down by the gentiles until so that word until tells us there's going to be a change it will be trodden down by the gentiles until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled so 1967 marks the day the date when jerusalem came back into the hands of the jewish people remember jerusalem was under gentile control for some 2000 years and then in june of 1967 that infamous six day war which israel was attacked by arab nations from several arab arab armies from several different nations it was expected that israel would be destroyed in a day and instead israel won this war in six days miraculously i mean there are amazing miraculous accounts of soldiers ready to attack and ready to close in and suddenly they they they abandoned their tanks i'm talking about arab soldiers abandoning their tanks and they run and they're questioned later they say why did you run there were just a handful of of israeli soldiers who said we didn't we didn't see a handful we saw thousands they weren't just seeing things friends they were seeing angelic forces that were fighting on behalf of israel things like that many many testimonies of that quality of that caliber that just showed the miraculous hand of god on israel and the jewish people in this six day war so 1967 marks that time when jerusalem was no longer trodden down by the gentiles so it's jerusalem coming back into the hands of the jewish people that event marks this time that jesus called the fullness of the gentiles but paul also refers to the fullness of the gentiles but in in he uses a little bit different wording and he brings out something different in romans chapter 11 verses 24 and 25. he says there would be a spiritual blindness i'm paraphrasing here but he says there would be a spiritual blindness over the eyes of the jewish people in relation to jesus and we know there's been a spiritual blindness since the first century over jewish people's eyes that there would be a spiritual blindness over the eyes of the jewish people until again until means there's a change and when he says it until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled or until the fullness of the gentiles has come in so what we see in putting jesus and paul's statements together is this when jerusalem would come back into the hands of the jewish people that event would mark the beginning of a spiritual renewal among jewish people in which the the spiritual blindness would begin to lift off of the eyes of jewish people now history attests to this friends because back in the late 1960s that really marks the birth of the modern day messianic movement the late 1960s marks the birth of of many people have heard of the ministry of jews for jesus jews for jesus began in the late 1960s tens of thousands of jewish people got saved in the late 1960s more than had been saved probably in the in the 2000 years before that i don't think it's just coincidence jesus and paul both said it would happen jerusalem comes back into the hands of the jewish people the the the spiritual blindness begins to lift off the eyes of the jewish people the word says it we so we have seen it happen so history attests to this jerusalem is central to it jerusalem coming back to the hands of the jewish people number eight jerusalem is at the very center of and it's the focus of the hatred of the nations there's really almost an irrational opposition when when you look at what's taking place and how how hated israel seems to be especially by the arab nations but then also in in many ways by just much of the secular world now we might wonder well how is that related to salvation history it's related because it's the nations raging against israel and coming to the point of the nations coming against jerusalem to battle we read in zechariah 12 and zechariah 14. where it says then as the nations are coming against jerusalem to battle it's at that point that the lord will come forth and fight against those nations in other words it's talking about the second coming we'll get into that more tonight but you see it's the nations having reached that point in their opposition to israel with jerusalem being the key issue there that's what results in jesus coming to execute leading us to number nine because when jesus returns he he he is going to establish his kingdom from jerusalem jerusalem is the place where jesus will return and establish his throne and from there he will rule the nations it's what's known as the millennial kingdom he will rule the earth for a thousand years jerusalem is the place of the rule and reign of the king of kings but now there's a key thing that's a part of that and i want us to look at this together we looked at this yesterday but it's it's really so central and we need to see it again matthew chapter 23 beginning at verse 37. yeshua is speaking to the religious leaders in in jerusalem a group of people called the sanhedrin and he says this o jerusalem jerusalem the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her how often i wanted to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings but you were not willing see your house is left to you desolate for i say to you this is the key statement you will not see me again until you say blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord why is that important i've got to understand the jewish people had a very specific understanding of that phrase blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord you may recall in matthew 20 in what's known as the triumphal entry when yeshua came into jerusalem prior to his being crucified there the people are throwing palm branch waving palm branches and they're saying hoshanah in hebrew hosanna blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord that is a that is a proclamation intended to welcome the messiah as appearing is coming and of course they thought he was coming they rightly welcomed him as messiah but they thought he was coming to rule and take over when actually he was coming to die and lay down his life but the sanhedrin understood what jesus was saying here you see the jewish people must be in the land calling for jesus to return the sanhedrin must be calling for yeshua to return and he's only returning for one thing to rule and reign over all the earth so for the jewish leaders keep this in mind jesus says he's not returning until the jewish leaders declare blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord for the jewish leaders to call for him to come they're calling for him to come as messiah and king they must be in the land calling for yeshua to return before he's coming back to rule this king and this is one reason i believe why the devil fights so hard to turn nations against israel and to try to get israel to give up jerusalem if jewish people are not in israel getting saved and calling for his return he's not returning until that happens i realize it's a process it's not a sudden thing i think there are aspects of it that are sudden but the process began back in the late 1960s when the spiritual blinders began to lift off the eyes of jewish people and jewish people are getting saved believers are getting established in the land still a small minority but more and more tens of thousands for sure of jewish believers in the land of israel and this has to be happening because jesus isn't returning until it does until it comes to fullness that is isaiah wrote that the law will go forth out of zion and the word of the lord from jerusalem he's talking about after yeshua returns his millennial kingdom so this is the awesome event that we all look forward to and long for as yeshua comes in power to overcome the kingdoms of this world and establish his rule over the nations revelation 11 tells us specifically it will be proclaimed the kingdoms of this world have become the kingdom of our lord and of his messiah and he will reign forever and ever hallelujah yeshua will return and set up his kingdom and rule this earth from the city of jerusalem but it doesn't end there because there's one last event number 10 jerusalem is the center of the new heavens and the new earth turn with me to revelation chapter 21. revelation 21 beginning at verse 1. now i saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away also there was no more sea than i john saw the holy city new jerusalem coming down out of heaven from god prepared as a bride adorned for her husband then let's go on down to um to verse 10. and he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the great city the holy jerusalem descending out of heaven from god having the glory of god he goes on to write in chapter 22 and he showed me a pure river of water of life clear as crystal proceeding from the throne of god and of the lamb in the middle of its street and on either side of the river was the tree of life which bore twelve fruits each tree yielding its fruit every month the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations and there shall be no more curse but the throne of god and of the lamb shall be in it and his servants shall serve him they shall see his face and his name shall be on their foreheads there shall be no night there they need no lamp nor light of the sun for the lord god gives them light and they shall reign forever and ever yeshua will have reigned from jerusalem for a thousand years the devil will have been bound for that time but then he's released for a brief season for one last time and then revelation 20 the devil's rebellion is crushed he's thrown into the lake of fire for all eternity and then the ultimate event of god's plan of redemption the new heavens and new earth the heavenly jerusalem we just read it the heavenly jerusalem comes down from above and god will make all things new every tear will be wiped away death and disease forever banished no more covet virus or any other virus disease will be banished from the human race the completion of god bringing together heaven and earth will come to pass the work of god to restore everything corrupted by the fall that work will be complete the redemptive process it all comes to its conclusion in that new jerusalem which is why i believe it had to have begun with jerusalem see that's the nature of god's redemptive patterns if we study that out in the scripture you'll see there are redemption patterns god goes back to the point where sin came into the picture and step by step he redeems it all the principles of redemption and restoration are constantly seen throughout the pages of scripture the bible is essentially the story of god's work to bring redemption and restoration to humanity and really to all the creation the earth itself is going to be restored to perfection we see this idea throughout the bible that god redeems and restores so to me as we consider this key theme of the bible it it really doesn't make sense to think that god would have just destroyed the original garden of eden and then start over in a different location divalo it doesn't make sense that the garden was further east originally in another place but then at the end god starts it over in a new place called new jerusalem it's not how god works god's pattern throughout scripture is to redeem and restore and locations seem to be very important in god's purposes we we see situations where god god is interested in redeeming lands so then look at what we find in the midst of the new jerusalem we just read it we see the river of life flowing out from it just like a river flowed out from the garden of eden we see that that that that uh we see in revelation 22 the tree of life clearly it's the restoration of the garden of eden in the new jerusalem and it just makes sense that it's restored exactly where it began with the tree of life right in its center think about the imagery at the close of revelation being so similar to the imagery we we see in the early chapters of genesis clearly the new jerusalem is to be understood as being a restoration of paradise a restoration of the garden of eden otherwise i don't think the bible we would use the specific language that we see in revelation 21-22 so jerusalem will be the place of the restoration of the garden of eden the restoration of paradise and i think it's reasonable to assume that if the new jerusalem is the place of the restored garden of eden then it makes sense that there would be a connection between jerusalem and the original garden of eden you know like i said yesterday i'm not dogmatic about it but i think it makes sense what began in the location of jerusalem comes full circle and we find a restored garden of eden in the very same location friends jerusalem is central to every key step in god's redemptive purposes for mankind and for the earth itself we long for that day when jesus returns we long for that day when he begins his reign from humanity or from jerusalem over all humanity and then ultimately when he begins restoration and and and transformation of this corrupt earth on new heavens and new earth where righteousness dwells for all eternity the garden of eden restored with the tree of life in the midst of the new jerusalem and the sign that we're really getting close the simple reality of jewish people coming back to israel see we're told in psalm 102 this isn't the only place where we make this connection but in psalm 102 16 the hebrew reads literally when the lord builds up zion he shall appear in his glory so as we see the restoration of the jewish people in israel the building up of zion we've been seeing that over the last 50 years it cannot be very far off when the lord yeshua himself will appear in his glory and yet at the same time you know we we look around and think how can this happen the world's opposition against israel her rights to jerusalem that opposition i mean yes there is a peace treaty with a couple of nations and there will probably be more and that's a good thing but yet the reality is the opposition will increase once again as the nations shake their fists at israel and shake their fists at god himself we see it in psalm 2. but see god is getting ready to establish the throne of his king to set up that throne in jerusalem and to bring us into the age to come this is what puts fear and terror into the devil and i believe that's what behind what is behind so much of the resistance that we see towards the jewish people and to israel themselves but at the same time these things should cause joy and gladness faith and encouragement to overflow in our hearts as believers as we see the hour in which we live jerusalem certainly seems to be the focal point of the enemy's rage in so many ways but it's also the focal point of god bringing his kingdom in fullness to this earth as he will bring to completion his great plan for world redemption god will finish what he began hallelujah now just in closing let me just say one more thing because it's important to to make this point regarding god's work among the nations i focused this morning on israel and the jewish people specifically not to suggest that israel is the only important issue or that the jewish people are the only important people far from it not at all the jewish people are no more important than any other people group on the face of the earth but see it's all about god having a set covenant order for how he does things that's what this is about and israel is right in the center of god's covenant plan for redeeming nations and that is the priority of god's heart there must be a jewish people in a jewish homeland calling for their messiah to return and rule over the earth from jerusalem it's all clear it's clear from the prophets i believe it's clear from the new testament as well it's not that the jewish people are any better or more more important this is just how god think god has set things up the whole plan of god for world redemption ends up unfolding through the specific nation of israel as a people and a nation so friends when we understand that jesus to return is really what's at stake in relation to israel and the jewish people being in place in their land it should open our eyes to to to see a little bit more clearly the spiritual reality behind some of the natural events that we can observe in our day so we should be passionate about jerusalem as god has chosen that city to be the focal point of every key event of salvation history i want to tell you when you hear them on the news talking about jerusalem focus on jerusalem in some negative way that should that should uh that should motivate you to get to start praying start interceding praying god would you bless jerusalem praying for the peace of jerusalem praying for god's rule over that land praying for god's kingdom to to to to come to that land on earth as it is in heaven jerusalem is central to every key event of salvation history which is why isaiah could write for zion's sake i will not keep silent and for jerusalem's sake i will not keep quiet until her righteousness goes forth as brightness and her salvation as a burning torch let's pray heavenly father we we thank you for giving us your word we thank you for opening our eyes more and more clearly to things that you're doing in our day and lord i i just pray i just want to pray for each and every one here each and every one watching online [Music] and ask god for a fresh work of your spirit to give each one of us here today a just even a renewed sense of our own place and your plans and purposes that each of us can have a role in praying in your kingdom and praying in your purposes father i pray for new heart burdens to be established here today to be established in the hearts of folks watching online fresh burdens in our hearts lord open our eyes open the eyes of our hearts to see with greater clarity what is your purpose for these times that we're in lord we want to be your fruit we want to be fruitful people bearing good fruit in these challenging times you have a calling and a purpose an assignment for each and every one of us may we see that more clearly and we give you thanks and praise lord thank you for all that you're doing in our day in us and through us and beyond us the middle of the feast of tabernacles as the pastor said and what that in the old testament it talks about that that the people of israel were to live in booths or in shelters for the whole week of the feast of tabernacles it was supposed to represent of course and commemorate what moses did you know in the wilderness well he is asking us to do the same thing and so i was praying about this and i was praying for you all and this is what the lord said shelter in place that's the term heard a lot lately but i am calling my church out of hiding i am calling you to rise up and gather together often for i am going to begin to do greater miraculous things in your midst now is the time the veil is being lifted and what you have hoped for stood in faith for are trusting for is being made manifest i am sending new wine and new oil i am sending you wheat to be harvested [Music] but things will not look the way you expect my hand is pouring out anointing that is to also go beyond these walls of the building prepare for my presence is your shelter and my anointing will come quickly and in great strength before the time before the hour before the gathering of the harvest seeds will be sown it is time for preparation fill your storehouses gather your seeds grain and oil for a time is coming when the planting will end and the lines will be drawn in the sand come into my storehouse for provision it is never lacking this is the time of preparation through shaking and stretching i am purifying my church so they will carry my heart into the streets what you will carry goes beyond what you have ever imagined and i will begin with the children make room for them in all you do make room for them in your service i will be using them to touch many to pray for many and many will be healed set free and be led to me through them they carry a greater anointing but they must be encouraged to step out you all must learn to listen for my voice i'm speaking all the time it is crucial in these times the airways are filled with lies designed to pull you away from truth know my word cling to my word and pray pray without ceasing for discernment wisdom and unity and pray for your president and your country these are crucial critical times and i am looking to my body to hold the line of truth and love i want you all to be ready and alert to my leading clear out the old ways make room for the new it is time to put away any differences and preconceived ideas of when and what i am doing and going to do this is a time i am calling my body to show itself strong pray you are you and multiply your spirit and multiply your blessings to those around you may god raise you up in these last days before he returns this is the hour salvation this is the time to rise and let the glory of the lord shine over your life this is the time when there's darkness in the earth and gross darkness over the people and god wants you to rise and shine like never before so say lord i will arise in your glory i will arise in your strength i will arise to reveal your glory i will arise to let your power work through me and signs and wonders will flow through me and the word of god and your love to go from me and for god to say god delivered yes lord we will arise under the anointing [Music] of yeshua our coming savior king and messiah blessed be the name of the lord amen said he won't return until the jews say blessed is he who comes in the name of lord why don't we say it blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord again blessed is he who comes in the name of the lord
