remember the vader g35 kit that originally cost just 11 000 bucks or is that two yeah i do too but then it skyrocketed up in price up to six figures and there's nothing really else to say except that was just a complete bummer but the good news is that there's a new custom kit out there that'll take your porsche boxster and make it look like a multi-million dollar track tearing supercar its name is the goggly rd vex and it only costs 45 grand so today we're gonna get into the nuts and bolts of this insanely stylish kit and walk you through all the steps to get the vex into your garage if you're new here i'm brad danger this is ideal please subscribe and turn on that notification bell and this video is all about the goggly already vex the cheap car that will make you look rich let's go in the last decade some seriously insane body kits have come out of the woodworks and they're the kind that will make your regular sedan look like a certified supercar with kits like the vader valara and the zedro notorious you can make cars in the 10 to 20 000 range look like they're worth millions and the kick-ass new kid on the block in terms of cheap super cars is the gogliardi vex this tuner car takes a 987 or 986 porsche boxster which were produced between 1996 and 2012 and make it look like a ride that you'd see on the streets of dubai or something that's pulling up to the red carpet the vex is built by gogliardi designs a family owned and operated company out of southern california it was founded back in 2003 by franco gagliardi who started out as a car enthusiast just like you and me but this guy had a dream that one day he would build a lambo style supercar but on the cheap the first ever kit created by gogliardi was the vendetta which is a really cool name and it has the looks to back it up because when it debuted it looked like an italian sports car and it was first showcased at the knott's berry farms aha show and just a few years later they came back with another super cool kit the vex franco gagliardi likes to make it clear that he's building a custom car no it's not a kit car it's not a replica car it's a goggly arty and for that we respect the craft so keep it up franco like i said if you want a vex of your own you're gonna need a donor car which is a porsche boxster 986 or 987 and gogliardi will accept a manual or an automatic transmission it don't matter and they'll also accept any model from the base all the way up to the s trim but if you're looking for a little bit more power to match that supercar exterior which i think you should well then you should be able to find a low mileage base 986 for under 10 grand that's got around 220 horsepower or if you want to turn it up to 11 you can go with the 986s which is more like 15 grand and that's gonna give you roughly 250 horsepower now if you step it up to a newer generation 987 base you're gonna be looking between 15 and 20 thousand dollars and that would probably be my ideal pick but for you it all really depends on what you want and what your budget allows and if you're willing to splurge a little bit and if you actually want to buy any of the porsches that i just mentioned whether it's a donor car for the goggly rd vex or just because you want an awesome porsche i've linked to both the 986 and 987 down in the description using auto tempest and also if you want to buy one like a pro check out the ideal car strategies because both the 986 and 987 are ideal cars and ones that you could probably drive for free or make a little bit of money on but we're not here to talk about that we're here to talk a little bit more about a very special kit car so when you turn your boxster over to the guys over at goggly rd design what do they actually do before a vex magically appears into your garage well the entire process is supposed to take three to four months however they do warn you there may be some delays because well it is a kit car after all and it's a custom kit car at that so you better be prepared to wait even longer than three to four months so once your boxer is actually in the hands of gogliardi they strip it all the way down to the chassis and start building the fiberglass body from there they widen the wheelbase to 107 inches and build it up with a body that's 43 inches tall 80 inches wide in the rear and 73 inches wide in the front it's kind of like how i'm shaped except opposite and even though the vex has a wider wheelbase and definitely looks more imposing than the boxster that it's built on it's actually lighter than the boxster body that means that flat 6 from the 986 or 987 is gonna do more for you and if you do choose to use the 987s with almost 300 horses you're gonna be hitting some decent speeds with ease yes i agree not lambo speeds but you're gonna at least keep them in your view but the easiest way to make a car fast is to lose weight and that's exactly what this kit does plus it also comes with some very nice bells and whistles like 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels led tail lights projector headlights dot glass and an optional electric rear spoiler which i definitely would want and you think that you can install all this stuff on your own well maybe you can but unfortunately you're out of luck see unlike competitors like vader and zedro gogliarti is very proud of the work and they don't sell it as a do-it-yourself kit like the other guys so the vex is something that you're gonna have to have built and you're gonna have to pay for that installation if you really want a pseudo supercar so the million dollar question well it's actually a lot less than that how much does it cost to turn your porsche boxster into a head-turning lambo style supercar well goggly rd charges 45 000 for the kit in installation which actually isn't all that bad although it isn't exactly the cost of the kit of the vader g35 when it was initially sold for an unthinkably low eleven thousand dollars but if you ask me the vex is still an ideal deal for that kind of style if you add up that 45 000 plus the cost of a 986 or 987 boxster you're going to be somewhere in between 55 and 70 000 out the door and that's depending on what kind of performance you really want oh you want your vex to perform like a supercar well that's a hundred percent doable but it's gonna cost you a considerable amount of money because before you take your porsche to gagliardi you're gonna take it to a performance shop and you're gonna have them install whatever performance kits that you want you know like force induction maybe tune that engine and definitely would get an exhaust to make that boxer engine sound so good and if it were up to me i would do all that stuff because well you want it to be as fast as it looks but just remember that even though the boxster is a very sturdy chassis it can only handle so much and the boys over at goggly rd design we definitely would get along because the ideal chassis they suggest is a 987s and then equip it with a turbocharger which is the most cost effective way to make your vex have all the go and all the show however if you're trying to do something pretty crazy you could get a 987 boxster spider which are super rare and they're going up in value every single day and i think porsche files would not be happy with you cutting one up but it's your life do what you want with it and as far as gogliardi putting into performance modifications as well well they'll do it if you ask nicely but if it were me i would have the car completely sorted and ready to go and just have them do all the bodywork because that is what they're best at and another thing you got to think about is that gagliardi doesn't touch the interior and although the porsche interior is minimalist but still classy you may want to do something with it as well but again that's completely up to you and one of the nice things about having a stock interior is that you're gonna keep all your safety features and factory settings and all that stuff inside so the car isn't going to just fall apart on you well at least the interior won't and if you're ready to drive your boxster over to the gogliardi design garage right now you may want to hold off see apparently new versions of the vex are in the works and if i were you which i'm not but i will give you my advice i'd like to see what those look like before i start dropping 45 grand on one and chopping up a perfectly fine boxster and i think one of the cool things is the lineage of gogliardi designs see the vex isn't the only supercar kit that they create their website also includes two more kits that are coming soon the vendetta and the vengeance the vendetta kit is basically a tip of the hat to the lamborghini huracan and while we don't know what the vendetta is gonna cost when it hits the market i bet it's gonna be less than the 208 thousand dollars you'd have to shell out for a 2020 huracan and just like the vex the vengeance kit also looks like a breed of lamborghini but which one exactly the guys over at gogliardi based it off of is a little less clear plus from the subtle hints on the gogliardi's website it seems like they plan to sell the vengeance primarily as a complete turnkey car with a wide range of options for suspension chassis steering systems and more and of course you want options because you know people have different budgets and you want them all to be driving these things however they've also been hinting at the fact that they may sell these kits as a do-it-yourself project as well which would be pretty rad so if you're excited about turning your commuter car into a poor man's lambo there is still hope so what do you think do you think it's worth waiting for the new vex kit or the vendetta i don't know but one thing i do know is all these kits are relatively cheap and they look like you're worth a million bucks when you're driving them so let us know which one you would choose down below and don't forget to subscribe and hit that like button and check out some of our other videos and keep living the ideal lifestyle
