pick a card any card hallo everybody silver picker here and welcome to the silver picker squad now today's video is going to be all about bills that's right Bill's banknotes dollars that is what we're talking about today and I want to share with you a little secret that will make you a little bit of extra pocket money every time you go to the bank that's right what I want to do is I want to help you identify a rare note that can still be found in circulation no this one is not it this is something you might recognize from one of my other videos but this is a yellow seal silver certificate pretty rare very unlikely you'll find that in circulation this a little bit more common it's a blue seal silver certificate you may rarely find this in circulation though I never have this one slightly a little bit more rare because it is indeed a star note it's a star note of a blue seal solar certificate then we have a standard star note these star notes are fairly common you'll be able to find these all the time maybe I'll do a video on star notes also this of course is just a older bill right here series 1963 B that's pretty cool 1988 and this this my friends is what we're focusing on today this is a 1988 series a web node so if you're watching this video you probably clicked on it because of the title which is basically promising you guys that you'll be able to go into a bank pay them $1.00 get a different dollar in return and actually be able to sell that on the open market for a profit well it sounds too good to be true right well it's not because it is absolutely true the scale might not be where you want it to be you know you're not gonna get thousands of these we're gonna be able to sell them for thousands of dollars and really get that volume but hey has anyone ever said no to a couple extra bucks in their wallet without having to spend too much that is exactly what I'm gonna show you how to do now I'm gonna tell you what a web note is I'm gonna tell you how to identify it and then I'm gonna tell you what it's worth so what exactly is a web note well to the untrained eye a web note just looks like a standard one dollar bill and in a sense it really is just a standard one dollar bill and the difference is not necessarily with the bill itself but actually with the printing method that the US Bureau of Engraving and printing used to print the dollar bill currently most dollar bills are all dollar bills I should say are printed with what's called the intaglio method of printing and what that is is essentially it requires three different printings for every dollar bill there's a printing on the front a printing on the back and then there's a third printing that prints the seals and the serial numbers now as you can imagine there is some inefficiency in that process you've got to print it three different times and on a stick on a single sheet you only can fit 32 bills so the US government realized that the the Bureau of Engraving and printing decided that they wanted to try something different so there was an experimental method of printing called web printing or web press printing and essentially what it was was instead of having pre-cut sheets that held 32 bills at a time it used a big spool of paper on a continuous roll so imagine if you've worked in a in as a cashier or something you've probably seen the rolls of of cash register paper all rolled up and it just gets keeps printing it keeps printing keeps printing and that's exactly what they decided to do with the web press they had one big continuous sheet of paper and it would all be able to be printed at once now that sounds fantastic right so you'd think that that would be the new method of printing however there was a catch what happened is that aside from the fact that there were a lot of mechanical errors with that machine and they'd have to constantly be fixing it and that added to expense and of course time is money both in a literal and figurative sense for all those breakdowns they'd get behind and it would cost them more and more the other thing was that at the end of the day the final product was really not that good I don't know if you can pick it up on camera but if you look here on this word one you can see that it's a little bit spotty it's really not the greatest printing quality so when you've got a process that breaks down a lot ends up being more expensive and doesn't even deliver the best product you end up canning the whole thing so that's what makes this rare these banknotes these webnotes were only printed in series 1988 a 1993 and 1995 now they're pretty old so finding any bill from that era in circulation is not the easiest task but they're not so old that you're going to see them plucked out of circulation entirely there is still a great opportunity here and if you go to the bank and you take out a few hundred dollars in bills and you do that consistently and you search through them you will find these and you will be able to sell them now how do you actually identify a web node now from what you're probably looking at you're probably saying to yourself this looks exactly like a regular dollar bill how on earth am I gonna tell what an actual web note looks like well why don't we take a look at the other 1988 bill and compare them on a regular bank note printed with the intaglio method you'll see that the front block has a letter and a number associated with it in this case e 49 however on a web press note there's just the little number a little nine now so not a huge distinction but you'll see it you'll see there is a letter there and there is no letter there now for me the easiest way and my favorite way of identifying a web node is simple you look at the back and you look for the back plate number the back plate number if it's a regular bill and if you look through your wallet right now you'll see every single one of them has the plate number right there at the bottom of the e this one is 302 however on a web note it is right above the e right next to and god we trust' you are definitely not going to miss that because any time you see a bill from 1988 a 1993 or 1995 turn it over take a look and see where the plate number is and you'll see it right next to and god we trust' above the e this case number eight and that is how you identify a web note for sure now before we get to what it's worth I need to ask you guys a quick little favor if this video is helpful to you if you like learning about ways to make a little bit of extra money on the side especially as it pertains to coins gold silver picking thrifting and in this case bills throw me a like throw me a big thumbs up it would really help me out and even better share this video on social media it will really help me out if your subscriber thank you very very much for subscribing if not join us in the silver picker squad it's easy just hit that little red subscribe button you'll be happy you did because you learn about how to make a little bit of extra money on your own terms and how to stack some silver and how to just make yourself a little bit more financially stable again on your own terms now back to your regularly scheduled programming the question you've all been waiting to hear the answer to is what are they worth well I don't mean to spoil your dreams but if you were thinking you're going to become a millionaire searching for web notes and reselling them well your dreams are spoiled because that is not what's gonna happen with these however if you came into this video saying you know I like to find many different ways to make money I like searching through bank notes and now finding a web note and being able to sell it for a couple bucks now if you're looking to do that that is something very attainable and a way for you to make a little bit of extra pocket change so that is what I want to be telling you about now web notes do range in price but are typically somewhere in the four to twenty dollar range if they're in excellent shape or they're from a rarer print run you may end up getting to sell them for up to fifty to a hundred dollars which is really really fantastic I mean you can go to the bank you can get a couple hundred dollars and one's searched through them and there is a fairly good chance you will find one and if you do there you go for one dollar you made between four and a hundred bucks now there have been some specimens that are in uncirculated condition that look really really good which you still might be able to find from a bank that have sold for the upwards of a thousand dollars so again it's not likely you're gonna find a thousand dollar specimen but is it possible yes and is it likely that you'll find something worth between five and a hundred bucks absolutely so in short this is something I want you guys to keep your eyes peeled for go to the bank get yourself a few hundred dollars to search through and find yourself a web note anyway that's the long and the short of it that's really everything you need to know about web notes so if you liked the video hit that like button throw subscribe my way and until next time silver pick her out [Music]
