Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
Probably the best "we used an incorrect graphic" bit of the season so far.
In case anyone is wondering about the two Senators who attended the hearing John Oliver mentioned towards the end of the segment--the names of the Senators are Thomas Carper (D-Delaware) and Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma).
Carper was the one who introduced the bill. Coburn spent most of the hearing grumbling about how it was a waste of his time. So yeah, prospects aren't really great.
I loved the Georgia republican against needle exchanges in DC but then a few seconds later it's revealed that his own state has needle exchanges.
I like their ideas about florida
Let them have gun laws! Let them have weed!
In the end of the full episode, during the credits, the kids decided to do the wave. Very cute and John joining in on that was very funny.
Also I love how John is able to get us with our lack of knowledge like the 51 star flag and the transportation secretary's identity.
Does anyone have a mirror it's blocked for me.
that song at the end is one of the best things I've seen on John Oliver's show... pure gold
My only problem with DC becoming a state, and this is the smallest most petty gripe a person can have with it, is that being from the state of Washington this will only cause more confusion from people when I tell them where I am from.
