want to break through this morning so in a breakthrough that's you begin to cry out lift up your hands to your father in heaven say i want to break you lord in my mind god in my mind whatever's keeping me from worship god is gonna break as i lift up my hands as i lift up my hands god it's gonna break i'm worshiping you god a god that i cannot see but i know you're here because your word says so and when when we're gathered in your name you're in the midst god that when i worship you your word says that you inhabit my praise god i know you're here jesus move god perform your word like you said god break down the walls god have your way in this house lord renew my mind jesus renew my mind lord hallelujah [Music] i feel it in this room holy spirit move cause when you have your way every one of us lord also those that are on tuning in god deal with them also god let your spirit move in their home also god we love you so much god for the price that you paid for the blood that you church will be there in your your history this uh morning scripture i'm reading from the book of isaiah chapter 58 and this morning i'm reading verses 7 and 8 in the niv version that's isaiah 58 verses 7 and 8 and the word of the lord says is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked to clothe them and not not to turn away from your own flesh and blood then your light will break forth like the dawn and your healing will come quickly and appear then your righteousness will go before you and the glory of the lord will be your rear guard and the ushers can make their way forward and what i want to talk about this morning is the attitude of our hearts i encourage all of you to read this chapter in isaiah it's only 14 verses but in it it talks about the [Music] people israel and their fasting they have been fasting before the lord and their situation the situation wasn't changing and it wasn't changing because they were doing it with the wrong heart you know a lot of times we find ourselves doing things for god and we think we're doing it in the right motives or the right conditions but our hearts are far from god you know and here the prophet isaiah starts to speak against the people of israel and and and and he really lays into him but here in verse seven actually it starts back in verse six but in verse seven you know the lord starts to remind the people why they were fasting in the first place and what the motives are you know and all through through the bible starting with cain and abel and even when jesus when he talked about the pharisees talked about the conditions of their heart and sometimes we do that with our ties and our offerings you know it gets to be a second nature we just you know we write a check you know we just send it we put money in the basket without remembering what our heart what the heart of the matter is you know it's it's you know to do the will of god but to come before him with a pure and clean heart and then in verse 8 you know it gives our promises it says then our life will break forth like the dawn and our healing will come quickly and appear you know and as we continue with the day's service you know it's so busy it's so easy to come in here with our minds on something else and our for our hearts to be far from the spirit of god and where god's heart is you know and that's always what he's looking for he looks for our heart he looks for the motives that we have you know so it's not the amount of zeros you give or it's not the multiple credit cards that you have but it's your heart that he wants and when your heart is with god your heart starts to change when you start to change you can change those around us and when those around us start to change then we can really make a difference and we can take god's god's word and god's heart to other people amen and with that said if you just bow your heads and we'll take up our tithe in our offering heavenly father we come before you this morning lord we come before you lord god with a clean heart lord god with a pure heart lord god we come before you lord god a with a heart of forgiveness with a heart of compassion with a heart of you of your love for others lord god and we pray lord god that as you take this time this offering lord that you can use it lord god as you see fit bless the givers this morning lord god for those who don't have the means lord make a way lord god and may it make it loud in here today lord god we love you we praise you we give you the glory appreciate the worship team they did a great job and uh it's good to be in the house of god last night we were with living word uh escondido amen we had a great time last night uh the second night of revival all those that came out man thank you for coming out and supporting the church there it was a packed house and man we just had a good time and the holy ghost moved can i hear an amen and i gave all my chili last night so let's see what happens today amen i love going to preach especially new beginnings of new churches because there's just so much excitement man and there's so much life it's like just something just being birthed like a newborn baby and how many know when a newborn baby comes into the family there's a lot of excitement amen okay or maybe it wasn't for you but there's a lot of excitement in the whole house experiences it amen but this morning you may be seated in the presence of the lord and i want to do a couple of things right before we get into the word of god first of all i want to lift up pastor rubin's brother eddie um he had got shot friday night over here in east bay and so right now he's in the icu that's why pastor reuben's here from las vegas go ahead and stand up pass through and over here amen he's with us this morning but come here we're going to pray for you we're just going to pray covering over his life and his brother joshua he'll be praying [Music] he was in our home he was doing good he even went to las vegas with uh pastor reuben for a minute and he was doing good and how many know we're in the battle the enemy came but we're believing god that god's got to spare his life and not only that but it's going to be a turning point for him amen i seen him not too long about two weeks ago he was walking by here and i told him man that god has a call on his life and god's gonna have his way in and but he's gonna be okay but he's in icu they're doing uh surgery they did four surgeries already and he got shot in the stomach area so they're making sure that everything's out but can we stand for one more time we're going to pray for pastor reuben and we're going to pray a covering over eddie heavenly father we come to you right now in jesus name lord and we lift up your servant reuben god father we just pray that you put a covering over him my god cover his mind his spirit is our god father i pray that you lord would comfort him for your word says that you're the god of all comfort comfort his family his mom his all his brothers my god i pray god that you lord would comfort them in this time lord we lift up eddie to you god as he's lays there in that hospital room lord we pray god that you would begin to move in his life father lord your word says that what the enemy intended for harm that you would can turn it around for the good we place them in your hands god we know that you have a call on this life father lord we know that you've been hunting them down god i prayed father that this moment in his life lord that he would surrender to you father and that you would do a great thing lord the same thing you did in reuben's life do in eddie's life my god they have the same spirit god i pray father that you would destroy every stronghold of the enemy on his life on his mind my god liberate him god father you are the god of heavens lord you are the great physician god father do miracles in his life father let him know that it's only you god that spirit is life let your handprint be upon his healing god about everything in his life my god and we thank you for what you're gonna do god protect ruben god let him be in his right mind god cover him lord this morning god in jesus name my god let him put it in your hands god for you are the defender my god of those that are that that cannot defend himself by god father i thank you for what you're going to do bless him right now bless him right now cover him right now in the name of jesus we pray amen and amen and amen hallelujah so continue to pray for eddie when they call him eddie boy continue to pray for him that god will just do great things one more thing before we get started this morning i want brother martin to come on there uh he came back he came back a bigger and a better man and thank you guys you know he's quiet but he's he's he'll show you an actions can i hear your name man we don't want to show on his actions but we're going to go ahead and pray all i know is that you're a champion man not only in boxing but in life i believe god's going to do something with you young man and also you both of you guys and you're under a good mentor right here he loves god and he's pouring into you guys so many good things that you're going to need in life but this is just the beginning man you're a winner you're a winner whatever you do you're going to win man but have jesus in in the center of your heart man god gives us the ability to win and to gain look at what what you came back with that's awesome man that's awesome how old is he how do you he's 11 11 and so we're going to pray that god will continue to bless you that god will continue to his plan would be guided within your life in both your guys life and that you will continue to pursue all the dreams that you have man all the vision and dreams that god gives you amen let's stretch our hands forward heavenly father we thank you for this young man god lord i feel that your hands upon him god lord i pray that today father that you would impress his heart god that he would always remember this day god that in church when your spirit touched him my god father i pray god that you would take them into greater heights my god you have given them the ability god to to endure to to to train and to be disciplined at god father i pray that these are very fruitful of conditions god i pray god that you would give them grace god give them the ability lord to just move in the direction you have i thank you lord for everything that you're doing god and this young lady god i pray that you pour into her like never before god stir up every dream inside of her god father let let let your will your plan your purpose be undone and unfolded in her life i thank you for them god i thank you for martin lord and the passion lord that he has for these children for over 30 years god i pray god that you continue to bless him father give him the strength to continue to do what you called him to do father let him continue to impart life into these young people there in the area that has needed god pulling them off the streets of south central god into the gym god teaching them principles of life of discipline my god oh god self-respect and and all the things that he pours into their life father bless them god right now in the lord amen if you have your bibles go with me to proverbs 29 18 we're not going to be too long this morning believe me trust me that's i'm not here to keep you any longer than than we need to be but we got to get into the word of god we're talking about vision uh today's vision part three we've been focusing and basing everything on this one scripture that really been we've just been pulling from it the bible says in proverbs 29 18 when you have it say i have it the bible says where there is no vision where there is no vision the people perish but he that keepeth the law happy is he let me read that one more time where there is no vision where there's no vision the people perish but he that keepeth the law happy is he let's pray father we thank you for your presence that is here this morning god lord we just ask that your will would be done today father lord you gathered all of us here today before you could speak one a word into us god father you see all the condition of all of our lives lord and you have not missed one of us god but you know exactly where all of us are at in life you know what's going on in our spirit you know what's going on in our mind you know our struggles you know our weaknesses my god you know everything about us as a matter of fact lord you know what's better than we know ourself but this morning god we just ask that that you move in such a way that would meet us right where we're at and that somehow some way with one word god change us enlighten us god help us to move further and closer to you god and to the destiny that you have for our life lord i pray that your light would shine in all of us and expose every darkness so we can deal with the darkness god and we can get full of your light because in your light there is life we want to live and we want to live for you god we thank you for this time lord give us vision god and let us understand what vision is lord and let us run with vision so we can see the path that is laid out for us we thank you and love you in jesus name we pray amen and amen praise the lord give the lord one more big hand clap [Music] amen then you may be seated in the presence of the lord and we're going to jump right into it normally i would i would just go ahead and come back at a little bit where we shared on wednesday night and sunday morning to bring everybody up to speed of what uh we're talking about this morning uh we're going to get right into it if you missed something you could go back on our facebook page or our youtube and you could find the whole sermon there and uh and share it with everybody else but vision part three we're talking about vision when you look at that word vision that is there in proverbs and mostly everywhere you find vision in the old testament that word vision is translated in the hebrew language and that word a vision is actually in the hebrew language it's called chazan c-h-a-z-o-n chas on and when you look at the definition of that word chaz on it it says vision but if you look a little bit deeper you'll find that it's it's not a reference to the ability to see the future to have vision to be able to see the futures right away when we think about vision you know we think about our eyesight which we could relate to that we could you know talk about that subject and that is something that is needed you're able to have that kind of vision which is like faith but chas on it's a different a refer it's a it's a reference to the ability to see it's not a references ability to see the future but it refers to the will and purpose of god being made known vision that is talking about there so you could rewrite that and say where there is no a will and purpose of god being made known the people perish where there is no will and purpose of god being made known when it's not being preached or when it's not being taught or when it's not being spoken about the will and purposes of god then the people perish because they have no direction then they lean on their own understanding what proverbs talk about proverbs 3 5 and 6 when people begin to lean on their understanding because they have no will and purpose of god that is marked out in their life and so you begin to take matters in your own hands how many done that how many leaned on their own understanding and how many know of you continue to do what you always did you'll continue to get what you always get you know uh um you know if you continue to do what you always did and have this uh you know thought in your mind well maybe tomorrow will be different tomorrow my life will change uh it's not happened you're borderline 5150 you know you ain't in your right mind to do what you've always done and think that you're going to have a different outcome it's borderline insanity that there's no way if you want to change your tomorrow you got to deal with the issues of today and you got to make adjustments in your life you got to you got to change the way you think because the bible says uh man ought to be careful how he thinks because your life is shaped by your thoughts if you're tired of the way that you shaped your life before you came to christ then you got to begin to think differently and i'm not talking about thinking in the worldly manner or thinking in the wisdom or knowledge of the world but the only way that you could be successful and what god has for your life thinking of what on how the bible says how we're supposed to be allowing the word to renew our mind and to transform our mind into so we can understand why is all that wanting to be done why does god want our mind renewed and why does god want us to change the condition of our heart so we can understand his will it's all based on that to understand god's will that god would change the stoniness of our heart and give us a heart of flesh so we can be pliable so god can conform us and to who he called us to be to fit into his good perfect will it's all based on that it's all based on that so that is the vision that god has for our life that he has a plan that he has a purpose that he has a destiny and many times we don't understand it many times because the way we live or the way we're brought up or the way that we process our thoughts or the way that we had received instruction that has nothing to do with god has nothing to do with god the way this world is it's all about you it's all about you think good about yourself uh strengthen yourself uh you know you can overcome it you can do a cell phone over matter you know strength over matter mind over matter it's all designed to destroy us self-destruction but when you understand that god has a will and a plan and a purpose for your life which is the vision that he has for all of us you got to place yourself in that direction and the way you got to do it is you got to be renewed in the spirit of your mind your heart needs to be soften up the stoniness of your heart because a lot a lot of us i remember when i came to the lord my heart was a rock can i hear an amen somebody and it wasn't because i was smoking rock because back and then they didn't have rock they had they had other stuff they had pcp and kidnapping on you know weird worse than rock and i'm not here to give you a drug class either so though but my heart was hard because of all the issues that i've experienced and every all the all the trauma that i went through when i was a child and in home uh and everything that happened within my home all the dysfunction that was in my life and all the dysfunction that was around me and the way that i was raised up everybody was cold because everybody was mad and everybody was angry because we were always in lack we never had anything hello somebody and because of that it all breeded a a dysfunctional environment in that dysfunctional environment you can't adjust to it you can just numb yourself to it and you and as the years go by you numb it and it gets harder and harder and harder then you desensitize yourself from that and you just become this other person you become this animal you become this person that robs and lies and chill chills yeah chills and steals you still then you chill and then you do all these things uh hurting people and and getting doing violent acts and all these things and and and you become this animal because of the environment that you were raised up in and the hardness of your heart and now you're in god's hands and and god has a plan and a purpose for your life but and he saved you and he and he paid the price for your sins he's forgiven you he's redeemed you he's a redeemer can i hear an amen somebody if you don't understand what redemption means mean he bought you he paid the debt for your sin because the wages of sin was death there had to be a death for you to come clean before god because of the sins that you had you had to give uh you had to die and the only one that was worthy of dying for the sins of the world was jesus christ the son of the living god and he died for our sins and he brought redemption redemption meaning that he purchased you he bought you with his blood in other words you don't belong to yourself anymore you don't own yourself like paul said i'm a slave unto christ jesus i just been bought by the blood it is no longer me that lives but it's christ jesus who lives inside of me see there's a lot of people that have been bought and your owner is jesus christ you're god's property turn your neighbor and say man you're god's property i don't know you you could either look like that like dang i i'm a slave you know i'm a somebody owned me or you could look at it as man i belong to god i'm his property and i'm one of his prized possessions that i'm the apple of his eye that he sent his son to die for me that that his son experienced death and then burial but also resurrection and that same resurrection the power that rose christ of the dead lives inside of me can i hear an amen somebody and so we got live god gave us an ability to have a second chance some of you are on a third chance some of you are on the fifth chance some of you are beyond your hands and toes and fingers uh you're on a hundred chance uh but as long as you still have breath within your body you're all right can i hear amen somebody god's grace is sufficient for you some of you might be on your last chance you might be on your last chance chance another word for chance is called grace it's grace grace you've been given something we don't deserve so in knowing all this that we don't belong to ourselves that we've been bought we've been purchased by the blood of jesus we are not our own anymore that that we belong to god were god's property okay then you need to start looking to him because he bought you for a purpose he bought you because he had a plan he didn't buy you to be a slave driver he didn't buy you to just buy you to say i purchased all these people and just wait here and do whatever you want go ahead and live what you want i've set you free no he bought you because he wants to better your life he has a plan he has a purpose he has a destiny that's greater that you could ever imagine if you would just come under his covering and if you just allow him to renew your mind and allow them to put vision in your spirit not your vision but god's vision god's vision his will and his purpose to be known in your life another translation of that word vision is means inspired guidance that god wants to guide you he wants to lead you inspired means to fill somebody with the urge or ability to do or feel something especially to do something creative that god wants to inspire you and urge you with the ability to fulfill the plan and purposes of god for your life see a lack of inspired guidance which is the will and purposes of god being made known for your life will result in confusion weariness and lack of direction purpose and zeal those of us that are not inspired by the guidance of god's vision for our life which is his will and purpose are people that will get confused they'll say i don't know what i'm doing i don't know what i'm supposed to be doing i i don't even know if i'm saved i feel saved i look saved uh i i'm i think i'm acting safe but there's something missing yeah that missing part is being submissive to the will of god but there's people that are confused or they get weariness they get tired because they're doing their own thing when you do your own thing it's very tiring it's very weary now man you're doing it on your own and you're leading your own life you're leading under your own understanding and what you think that god's plan is what you fulfill you want to integrate your plan and god's plan together you want the blessing of god but you want to be able to decide what is considered blessing to you it's very hard it's very weariness because that's an up uphill walk because you're going to be very very discouraged many times weariness that people that that have not allowed the spirit of god to bring that inspired guidance that would bring the will and purpose of god they get confused those are the people that are in church one day and out of church the next day those are the ones that are at the club saturday night and then in the altar sunday morning it's okay if you're at the cleveland last night praise god you made it this morning thank god you're here but that's not the way a christian should live you're out drinking last night smoking puffing profit sipping saying or a a a a stripping saint a double life and want to put on the banner of christ on it it's not that's not how god called us to live the bible says you need to make up your mind who you're going to serve you need to make up your mind you need to understand you got to come to a place in your life you got to make up your mind like joshua did that's why we know that scripture that it says where joshua says as for me in my house we're going to serve the lord he made a decision because of all the chaos that was happening at that time lack of inspired guidance in our life will bring weariness but not only that of being lack of direction you won't have direction now you leave it each day as it comes uh what are you gonna you know you have no direction there's no sense of purpose there's no target there's not no goals that you have set all your goals are self goals for just you there's no goals uh to to fulfill uh god's plan and purpose for your life you're not life is not moving towards the call of god or god's plan and god's purpose and when you like that there's no direction in your life you could turn your life into dying those are the people that just get up and say i'm moving to another i'm moving over here i'm doing what i want to do and i just and all of a sudden what god is doing in your life you've got an idea and an ideal sounds good and you think that that's going to make you happy and you do it but in reality you have no sense of direction you're being led by emotions and your feelings and then you end up paying for it later and everybody else that is following you will feel that pain lack of direction when you lack of inspired guidance by the holy ghost then you have lack of purpose you you feel like you know you know i'm not living with god you still feel that emptiness because i don't know about you man when you find out where you're supposed to be and you know what god is calling you to do and you will begin to move in that direction whatever it is because many times when god begins to call you and the vision begins to be revealed in your life god prepares you for the vision and so you got to go through this process and many times we see the vision up ahead but we're not living the vision yet some of you are living the vida loca hello somebody but you see the vision up ahead but but you're just right here and you're not going through the process you're not allowing the process to prepare you for the vision it's the in the process that god begins to define the purpose to define the purpose of why everything that's going on when you understand why everything's going on and the trials that you're going through and all the hardships that you're going through you look at it through a different perspective and you say man this is just part of preparation for where i'm going because my bible says all things work together for the good for those who love god and those who are called according to his purpose you're living out the purpose so now everything has been designed to better you everything has been designed to equip you everything has been designed to empower you everything has been designed for your better man and my better man that's why paul says these lightened momentary afflictions are just for a moment but the weight of glory that comes there after paul was saying yeah i'm being afflicted a little bit and it's causing a little bit of pain but i'm going to hold on i'm going to trust god because this is for the better man and this thing is working for me it's not working against me when you don't understand your purpose every little trial that comes your way you think this ain't god the devil not even the devil stop blaming the devil he's in the corner crying because you always blame him it's not it might not even be the devil's god trying to prepare you trying to get out that quitting spirit trying to try to to renew your mind trying to impart things in your life trying to give you perseverance and teaching you how to stand teaching you how to stand if you don't know how to stand you ain't going to go anywhere because when you walk you have to be standing i heard a sermon the other day and and and i gave this story last night but i'm going to say share it again it really impacted my life is that is that in the new testament after jesus uh you know he he died on the cross he was buried and he resurrected on the third day and then he appeared for 40 days to the apostles and all those that he appeared to and then he ascended onto heaven he told him to wait for the promise of the holy ghost then after that you find that every time that jesus is mentioned he's sitting at the right hand of the father how many know read that before even not only in the new testament it's even recorded in psalms uh the prophet david had recorded that he saw him sitting at the right hand of the father that he was sitting and every time that he was mentioned and up in heaven he's interceding and he's sitting at the right hand of the father and then you go a little bit forward and you come to the point where the first christian martyr was stefan or stephen he was just waiting tables he was a servant of god but he was full of the holy ghost and he began to preach to to the pharisees to the religious people about moses all the way from the beginning and and they got mad because religious people have no spirit they just have an understanding and they're right in their own eyes and he began to preach to them and and the next thing you know they got so mad they began to grit their teeth and they began to pick up rocks and they stoned him he was a first christian martyr and he was dying the bible records that he looked towards up towards heaven and he saw the heavens open and he saw jesus standing at the right hand of the father he was no longer sitting because when you make a stand for god jesus will make a stand for you can i hear an amen somebody you want jesus to stand up for you then you gotta stand up for him can i hear an amen somebody we gotta stand up when it comes to christianity we gotta stand up when it comes to the plan and purpose of god for our life you want god to be pleased with you god is pleased with those that fulfill his plan and purpose and will because it takes faith to do all that and without faith it's impossible to please god i don't know about you but i want to stand up for jesus and i could just that blew my mind and how jesus that was the only place in the bible you find jesus standing at the right hand of the father as stephen was giving his life for the gospel of jesus christ we're talking about lack of direction and lack of purpose lack of purpose when you're not inspired by the spirit of god and not only that but you have lack of zeal zeal is not emotions though it can trigger the emotions but it's not inspired by emotions it's inspired by the spirit of god that is one of that is one of the uh the gifts of the holy spirit it's not it's the old testament the the the cloak of zeal or the zeal of cloak or the cloak of zeal it meant excitement it meant fire to have zeal that when you begin to be inspired and guidanced by god you know that you know that you know in your knower and everybody has a nowhere you know what's right and wrong you know the difference you know the things you shouldn't be doing but you continue to do it your knower will tell you the truth and i believe it's the holy ghost that is our knower can i hear on amen that you know that you know in your heart in your spirit that you're doing what is right and you're laying down your life you're becoming a disciple of jesus christ you're allowing him to impart vision to your life which is his will and purpose and for for your life him being made it known to you and it's inspiring you and it's guiding you because you're moving on it it brings a zeal then you get excited can i hear an amen somebody and there's a fire within your life y'all you got a pimp in your step can i hear an amen somebody you're just not walking religiously but you gotta you've got a fire in your spirit now everything man it's pertains to god and god consumes your life and you get excited well i'm not like that pastor yeah yeah right put you in front of whatever you like if you like sports and your favorite team whether it's the cowboys hello somebody i know all the raider fans are here or the dodgers okay let's get some common ground here come the dodgers [Applause] and you get excited about that you don't go man you pay all this money to get in the front rail and you sit there and you're and when they make a home run that they do something you just look at oh that was good or you just rave your finger praise the lord got my hands in the air like i don't care man that was good you're not all conservative man every time i go to the game i come me and my wife my wife is crazy at the game man and we come back our throat is all sore from yelling yeah and then booing boo we're better bores than yowers and then the ump you stink you get all into it am i in the right church this morning are you real people when you go home and they put you in a box close your wife closes the coffin he's to sleep again he will resurrect next sunday no man you get around something you like a woman you like to shop get your nails dead your hair did you know because you've been praying for months that you god would touch that husband of your life to loosen them finances all of a sudden that brother loses in finances you get all happy you go over there and you're talking you're getting your nails done oh yeah yeah my man is so good and all that stuff and you're getting your toes dead at the same time yeah yeah yeah and you're all happy there's a zeal there i don't know about you i used to have a zeal in sin in the world going to the connection i used to get a zeal having you know all that stuff that was wrong the point i'm trying to make don't tell me you ain't got no zeal it's just you ain't getting lit for god you got lit for something else if you ain't lit for god there's no zeal within your life then your passion your purpose and god's plan it's not really being revealed in your life but when god begins to reveal his plan and purpose for your life it'll blow your mind man you'll say what god you want me to do what and you're going to do it through me all i got to do is be willing and all i got to do is be obedient and walk in your will in your pant in your plan and allow your holy spirit to guide me it's a no-brainer god i know my life and i know what i had i had nothing i came into this thing with nothing so everything i gained now is gonna bring some benefit in my life god you want my life and you're the god of heavens and earth that you're a great almighty god and you want my life then here i am do what you want you say you have a better plan than i have that your ways are higher than my ways that your thoughts are higher than my thoughts and that you're able to bless me beyond my human reasoning that's a no-brainer you're stealing crack if you don't take that deal well you don't understand pastor my life is i got this and i got that and i got this it ain't nothing like that man that when god begins to call you and you begin to lose your life it's okay god i mean i let go a long time ago a long time ago i said okay man my life when i came to look i was surprised he wanted me i didn't believe that was part of the trial at the beginning the first couple of years that that he wanted me because i had so much rejection in my life how could god want me i'm no good i'm filthy i'm dirty look at my thoughts look at my heart look at all the things that i did in my life all the people that i hurt even try to take my own life all these things that i did all these people are robbed and ripped off and all this stuff that i did and god wants me i struggled with that man that was first the biggest struggle that i had but god didn't give up on me god pursued me and then god's love just overwhelmed me and it broke me i had a i had a i was broken it's okay god i came came to a place that might say okay god you want me you're not gonna leave me alone and you say you have a life that better than i could ever imagine and that you want to use me and you have plans for my life and i can't even see it god i can't see any of those things that you're telling me that you want to do but i trust you and i believe in you because what else do i got to believe in nothing in this world there's nothing in this world that you could put your hope in i said okay god here i am here's my life do what you want to do i'm tired of running i'm tired of acting the way i'm acting i'm tired of getting what i've been getting here i give you my life i surrender my will i surrender my ways i lay down my life here it is god do what you want to do and the lord took me up on he said okay let's do it and he began to work in my life and it was a process and it's still a process still things are happening and i've come a long way but i got a long way to go but i thank god that he gives me vision and in vision you have three different things uh you you have a a foresight foresight is what's before you the things that god has laid before you as you're seeing it in your spirit as god is leading you god's plan is unfolding in your life you get a little uh insight on foresight man god is not done with me there's greater things up ahead uh the greater is the uh is the how does it go uh greater is the the latter than the former there's greater things up ahead and i see that in foresight but then i have insight inside is looking in and i say okay god wants to do now more challenges are coming to me i got to readjust some areas of my life i still got to change i still gotta allow god to the spirit of god to bring inside and change me and mold me and do these things in my life take some other stuff off just when i thought that things were going fine all of a sudden i get victory in certain areas i turn around there's a whole other set of issues that rise up and i said this is inside god inside god saying okay that's good you did that but now you got to do this to go that way and so you got to begin to deal with these issues and these problems and insecurities and not trusting god in certain areas in your life and then god gives you insight and he gives you foresight and insight and then he gives you oversight it's the oversight that brings the encouragement it's like looking from a helicopter and you're up on top you get to go up you see the foresight you see the inside but then you see the oversight of where god brought you from and how far you come and how god didn't leave you know forsake you how god when you got hard you got hit so hard you got hit so it's hard and man you thought you were going to go down but the grace of god carried you through that season he gave you victory on every side you went through situations that you thought no way i could make it through but it was the grace and mercy of god that brought you through that you couldn't even walk he was carrying you through this season he held your hand he held it on high he said he encouraged you he gave you what you needed as you see oversight and you look there and you feel discouraged and looking inside because sometimes when you look inside you can get discouraged and then foresight you think my god that's so far away can god really do that but it's the oversight that god brings that shows you where you've been and i remember where i've been i remember that pit that god pulled me out of i remember how i used to look and how i used to act i remember the values of my heart i had no values i had no principles that i lived by i lived they stay and i was treacherous i didn't care i didn't even care about going through the day and remaining alive i thought every day i was going to die and i did things that i could have died in but i did those things and how god's grace pulled me out he gave me oversight saying good son you're looking at heart looking that way look back a little bit and sure let me show you the pattern of my life i was with you back then i was with you when you didn't even know i carried you right here i helped you right here i lifted your head right here i gave you breakthrough right here i gave you increase right here i gave you what you needed right here i was always there for you i didn't leave you i didn't forsake you i guided you in the hard times i did the bad times when you went through the waters you didn't drown god was with me every time to where i'm at right now so when i look inside i said okay i'm gonna be okay as long as i remain in him i'm gonna be okay and i'm going to reach my destiny because god is faithful we think oh god has been faithful to me no wrong answer god is faithful to himself god is faithful to the word that he spoke over you and he's faithful to make sure it gets completed some of us get a little big head of what god has been faithful to me like you're his special you're his little special that's why when you get up to heaven you're going to go on the short bus oh there they go you're going to have a little helmet for your halo you're a little special oh i'm god's favorite no no there's no favorite god's faithful to his word zeal god gives you zeal and then you look back if you miss a little bit of zeal if you you feel like ah it's kind of boring you know i'm here and serving the lord you know it's kind of you know here we go with the same songs okay we're gonna okay everybody jump and turn you know you get bored and because you're getting religious and you forgot what god brought you out of you you know what one of my prayers is every morning god don't let me forget where i came from i don't forget where i came from and i don't do that to to to to always uh you know act like i'm staying and i don't forget as a point of reference that man where it came from and what god is doing in my life today and i don't forget where it came from for two reasons one for myself is for the oversight and second of all so i could always relate to the new people that come into the church so i can't think that i'm better than anybody oh unclean unclean i'm going to give you a bell at the door when you walk in of your visitor we're going to put you in the bell section on the balcony you'll be surprised it sounds weird but some churches do that you can't approach the pastor you can't approach anybody it's weird well because their church is so big now the bigger the churches there's more love how do you know they're his disciples by the love that they have for one another and it's the love man i remember where i came from so i'm able to minister to anybody that comes through those doors i'm able to to feel them and have compassion for them because i remember the pain and the hurt that i had my wife and i carried when we went into the church and it took us so long to find a church over a year because we went into so many churches that were so cold like we were that like we were had a disease that like we're leopards man we walk in there and they go around us to avoid us and my wife and i would stand there you know okay we hung around a little bit after so we wanted to get to know we liked at the church we liked it the worship we liked at the preaching it was good so we said man we like to be but it was just it wasn't in the people and we would stay in the back my wife and i they used to walk by and my wife jesus is telling me cause you're looking at everybody all mad dogging and everybody you know because sometimes i put on a serious face and i look like a mad doggy and i go okay all right maybe i am okay so we'll go again the next week and i'll be you know and i would be you know yeah all right man you know okay okay lauren yeah and and then they wouldn't people they would still avoid this and then i went i'm sure i put the order in man and we went there for a few times and we went to another church same thing we just wanted to be accepted we were broken we were hurting we we were we were broken we were backslidden we wanted help we wanted to and we knew it was in the church the church is like the holy ghost hospital and we're looking for some somebody just to extend a love and of acceptance and we couldn't find it until we went to living word when we went to living word man they lavished us with love we didn't even know man it was crazy and i'm gonna finish with this i'm not i'll give you the points but i've got to finish with this we went to living word about 21 years ago and on that day you know we didn't know but they had men's and women's zones this is the first day we went there first day and we went there it was on a sunday and and and they were having a fundraiser for the women's home they're having carne asada plates and we heard the announcements but you know i said okay and so anyway after the service this couple came up to us and they said hey man first time here yeah hey we want to buy you a plate some car nasal you want some karnazada i said let's go you don't got to tell me twice let's do it man and so we went over there and and uh they were there and we sat down and were eating and they were talking to us and everybody was so man they were so cool and i i said wow and then all of a sudden we're talking and eating and pastor reuben my pastor comes and sits down next to me and then i then my stomach started spitting and i started getting sick hello somebody i got so nervous he came in i just saw him preach and he came and said and he goes hey man and he goes uh um uh i forgot what he said he said he goes uh uh god is god has a call on your life god has a plan and he knew we were backsliders and he said the plan and the gifts of god are irrevocable he goes come on get back you need to get back up you need to get back into what you got to do for god and he said that and he accepted us and that was that was history he man and uh god just moved in our life and we said this is our our family not only that but then another couple came and they kind of adopted us uh uh remember fred and lupi they had us they insisted that we go on thanksgiving and christmas because they know they just made us their family and for every year we went to there for thanksgiving for for christmas and we were part of the family man we didn't even know these people but they had good food they had really good food and i said yeah i want to go man last year it was bomb and that stuff was bomb and he let me sit in his chair watching the game thanks god man i said let's go man and so and after that it made history my wife make her way up and so what i'm saying is that what am i saying a lack of inspired guidance i just kind of broke off the introduction i had a lack of inspired guidance which is the will and purpose of god being made known that's what chazan means it means that it means vision and it means it refers to the will and purpose of god be made known inspired guidance let me just say this and and and many people will say well you know god doesn't show me any uh visions or the will and purpose i don't know maybe because you haven't pursued it you know god has you know you got to want it you got to want it and that's how come i talked on wednesday night on prayer and it begins in prayer but but let me give you this there's benefits of having godly vision number one you can write them down i'm going to write read them to you real fast i don't have time to go over them but number one a vision gives us a sense of purpose and not only that but when you have purpose you have a sense of belonging that you belong somewhere people can achieve amazing things when they have a sense of purpose like i just shared that story about looking for a church once we found a sense of purpose there that we felt welcomed we felt that we had a sense of purpose like we belong here then god began to do amazing things in our life a vision gives us a sense of purpose and second of all a vision keeps us on track i got to read this one to you philippians 3 16 and 18 it says now that we're on the right track let's stay on it stick with me friends keep track of those who you see running this same course headed for the same goal the same vision to fulfill god's plan and purpose for their life stick with those those are the ones you want to run with that are heading for the same goal they are many of you out there that are taking other paths choosing other goals and trying to get you to go along with them oh you don't need to do that you don't need to pursue god's plan and purpose you're not called you know this is what i'm doing check this out this is what i'm doing and i'm doing this and it's working for me look at i'm i'm blessed and they might have a little bit of possessions but it's wrong and they're missing the mark they're missing what god has for their life it says there are many out there that are taking other paths choosing other goals and trying to get you to go along with them i've warned you of them many times sadly i have to do it again all they want is easy street and in reality they hate the cross of christ because they have rejected god's plan and they have formulated their own plan [Music] and that is an enemy of the cross [Music] so when you understand that a vision will help keep us on track i always say this and the guys that i work with i said you know run with the guys that are running the same direction with you that way you can move together there's no confusion there's no division and always always be on a lookout for those that want the same heart because we want to we want to make disciples can i hear an amen somebody we're a disciple maker we're to make disciples that is the great commission but in the last the last point number three as well stand to our feet so vision gives us a sense of purpose a vision of god keeps us on track and the third thing a vision or god's vision for our life keeps us motivated motivated means a drive an ambition initiative determination a sense of purpose it keeps us motivated it keeps us motivated because you're gonna need you're gonna need it when you begin to pursue what god has for your life it's not easy that's why not many people want to do it it's not easy it's gonna you know this salvation is free jesus paid the price for that but everything else to gain in this life that is part of god's plan and god's purpose is going to cost you everything your life everything but is it worth it it's the best thing you can do for your life believe me because it satisfies you greater than worldly things when we're not pursuing god's plan and purpose we're pursuing worldly things and we're trying to fill that emptiness that we have with worldly things and all the toys of this world and you know they say well you know with children they have toys but but we never stop especially men we just grow up and we have bigger toys [Music] because we're trying you know there ain't nothing wrong with things don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with things there's only wrong with uh things that that are wrong is when things have you when they have you i mean that they have you you have to understand what i'm saying there's nothing wrong with things god wants to bless every god wants to bless us and the bible says that god creates everything for our enjoyment it says that in timothy but there's nothing wrong with things if god blesses you but when things have you that's that's a different story when you begin to don't serve god for things because you got to pay all these things that you have and so now you've got to work three jobs and now things have you [Music] that's not a good place what i'm talking about it's going to cost you everything if you want god maybe the worship team can make their way up it's going to cost you everything and so but it's worth it it's the best thing that i've because god is the only one that could feel the emptiness within our life he's the only one that can make us feel complete because he created us and he knows that he's the only one that can fill us the way that we need to be filled and i don't know about you here today to hear this message and even to respond to this altar call and maybe you're far from god this morning and you're in a hard place well this morning you need to come home to jesus maybe you never knew the lord before while today is the first day of the rest of your life and if you're here this morning and and you want to accept jesus christ into your heart as your personal lord and savior whether it be for the first time or you want to rededicate your heart that's fine you're tired of trying to do it on your own if that's you here this morning as every head is bowed and every eye closed you're saying yes pray for me and you want to say this prayer with me it's a simple prayer you don't got to do nothing all you got to just say a prayer and if that you hear this morning i want to pray with you and if you want to give your heart to jesus i want you to lift up your hand right now right where you're at anybody in this place anybody in this place just live god bless you the lord man and as your pastor i have to preach god's will for your life i have to preach it i have to preach it i like what paul says in acts 20 verse 26 and 27 when he tells the church therefore i declare to you today that i am innocent of the blood of any of you and this is why he says in verse 27 for i have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of god for your life it's my job it's what i need to do i have to do because my job is to equip the saints for the work of the ministry and that's that's intertwined with his will and his purpose for your life as some of you here this morning and we love you dearly but man some of you are missing out what god has for your life it's never too late to turn your life and say okay god i'm gonna pursue what you have i want what you have for my life i don't want to i don't want to accept second or what i don't want to grow old and when i get older closer to being with jesus i don't want to regret and say man i should have responded i should have did it back then why didn't i do it because i know people that have done that that they were on their deathbed and they said if they were able to change one thing that they would have responded to god when they had the strength and when they had the energy and they failed it and they felt bad god loved them and god's grace was upon their life but they felt that they didn't fulfill god's plan for their life that they missed something and as your pastor i don't want not one of us to feel that way and so i want to get ready and while they get ready to sing that song and i want to make a a altar call open that if you're here today and you say man i need to make some adjustments in my life i i need to reconsider things uh i need to reconsider the the direction that my life is going and and and through wisdom and guidance to the spirit of god you can make these things but you got to acknowledge it first you got to see man and what i want to do right now i want you to come the altars are open right now and you say man i want what god has for my life and i don't know how it begins or where it begins but i'm going to cry out to god this morning i'm going to say god i i want what you have uh i want what you want god for my life i want your plan and purpose if that's you i want you to come and stand or come and kneel down here this morning and i believe with all my heart i believe with all my heart that we serve a god that is able to touch the heart of man i believe with all my heart that god is able to answer that god is able to guide and direct that god we serve a god that still speaks to his people oh we we don't serve a god that is silent uh he still speaks to the heart of his people and if you're here this morning come on come on up close right here come on up close right here hallelujah just come on up come on up and begin to talk to god whatever it is uh maybe you're not sure of what you're doing today maybe you're not sure of what you're doing if it's god's plan or purpose begin to talk to god begin to look within yourself begin to look up towards heaven now begin to ask the question of it's okay to ask a question god am i doing what you want me to do am i where i'm supposed to be god am i am i living the life that you want from me god begin to ask that question i'm sure god will begin to show you god will begin to reveal it to you world that is slipping into darkness father let your will be done in our lives we love you so much and we're so grateful to even be alive in this season in our life we just dedicate our lives to you to be god's vision god's vision for your life begin to do that you're going to begin to live amen well we're going to get ready to close don't forget i believe we have iced coffees outside for everybody in their freak that way you could drink it get sprung a little bit and stick around a little bit have some fellowship with some people and we would get to know one another don't be in a hurry but i understand if you got some place to go that's fine to get your coffee and go and um but if you want to hang around a little bit it's all right and uh let's do what god's called us to do
