living word throughout our nation my god throughout the world my god through everywhere lord we thank you for what you continue to do as we honor you this morning my god we love you we praise you and we worship your name this morning my god that you may use our pastor this morning as a vessel this morning to bring out a word this morning a word about vision my god a word about everything that we our lowest god you reached into the lowest part of where we were you pulled us out god and you gave us a second chance at life god so we come here this morning to praise you god to magnify your name god father we lift up this service to you this morning god you know the conditions of every heart this morning lord even those at home that are watching god do a miracle in our lives this morning lord yahoo.com once you use it it's in your history it's easy to find it's even easier to give on the next time amen this morning scripture i'm reading from psalm 77 verses 11 and and this morning i'm reading from the esv version that the english standard version that's psalm 77 11-12 and the word of the lord says i will remember the deeds of the lord yes i will will remember your wonders of old i will ponder all of your works and meditate on your mighty deeds and the ushers can make their way forward the word i want to pull out of this morning scripture is a word we don't you don't hear anymore unless maybe you're from the south it's a word that we've kind of lost here you know and started but you know and that's the word ponder you know and you know a lot of times you know you'll hear a pastor talk and speak about you know do you ever think about what you're thinking about and the word ponder means to think about something carefully it means to weigh it in the mind it means to think or reflect deeply it means to meditate or to examine carefully it also means to chew on you know and what's what got me thinking about this word ponder was the other day my wife and i were sitting and we were preparing to give of our tithes and our offerings using zell amen and and we started thinking about it and a lot of times we just do it out of the habit you know a lot of times with our tithe and our offering we check it off as though it's something that we need to do you know it's like we get up and we say okay you know i said my thanks to god check mark you know i i got down on my knees and i prayed i've done my devotionals you know and sometimes we just rush through all of these items and without really thinking about and pondering the meaning and what happens in our lives you know and we started to think about how often have we just sat and we give our tithe and we don't ponder what the meaning of the tithe is all about you know we sit and we and i encourage you to sit you know and think whether you want to use the word think meditate reflect on or ponder ponder what god has done in your lives how he's released this from the you know from the chains and the burdens that we've carried you know and how he's blessed us in our jobs or you know in our retirement or everything that we have we get back we get from god and when we ponder these things it makes it so easy just to step out in faith and to thank him and to tell him you know god i'm grateful for everything that you've done here is my tithe here's my offering and when we start to ponder and think deeply about these things it opens up so much more and you know i've just been thinking and pondering on this all week you know or from the middle of the week and what's going on so as we get ready to take up our tithe and our offering you know i encourage you that you know to continue to give and to continue to give up your tithe give to your offering but to sit and think about what you know think of the the way the way it in your mind how deep and how awesome our god is you know and a lot of times i have trouble myself dealing with how good his faithfulness is and how much he truly loves us and when we do this and we ponder everything becomes so you know it just opens our eyes amen but with that said if you just bow your heads and we'll take up our tithe in our offering heavenly father we come before you this morning lord and we thank you lord for another day of life lord we thank you for everything that you do for us lord god we thank you of your presence lord god let us sit and ponder your good works lord god how good you are how faithful you are and how you truly love us lord bless the givers this morning lord bless the tithe lord god and use it as you see dead lord we love you we praise you we give you the glory and in jesus name the church said amen amen come on let's get excited it's our time to give back to the lord may god bless you this morning it's your presence is [Music] is [Music] [Applause] [Music] breakthroughs [Music] is [Music] breakthrough is coming by [Music] is [Music] is [Music] before [Music] amen if you could please remain standing like i just mentioned it's the first sunday of the month it's labor day but it's more than that here in the house of god here in living word chino hills and in fact in all the living words the first sunday of the month is communion month this is communion day but you know but we don't need to just wait for the first sunday of the month to have communion you know communion is is made with the intent of not mindlessly performing a routine and i just talked about that a lot of times we just go through our days go through our religious ideas and we mark things off as though it's something that we have to do but communion is much more than that you know it's a time that we get together as one house one family one body of christ and we give thanks and remember what jesus christ did with his life his death and in his resurrection you know in fact the word communion means partaking in fellowship on an intimate level so we're sharing these things amongst ourselves and with our lord and savior jesus christ and as we get ready to take up our time or do our communion you know those of you at home get your elements ready you know here in the house of god these things are a little tricky sometimes amen so we want to remember you know it's it's an intent of remembering and whether we have communion elements like we have our wafer and our grape juice or those of you at home whether you're using a crack or a piece of bread a tortilla chip lemonade whatever you're using at home you know it's the intent and and the praise and the worship that we give our lord and savior that we're doing this morning but communion is a practice that is meant to be observed over and over throughout the life of a christian so it's like i said it's when we come together to do it together we observe communion because the lord has told us to in his words and we are to base obey his commands and obser in observing communion we are remembering christ and all that he has done in his life that his death and in his resurrection when observing communion we take time to examine ourselves and i know i say it all the time but you know things get honest during the week even during the day i mean sometimes from the time we get up you get up on the wrong side of the bed amen you're just not who god wants you to be and we need to remember these things and give it to our lord in observing communion we are proclaiming the lord's death until he comes again so that in itself makes it a statement of our faith and when we observe communion we show our participation in the body of christ if life becomes our life and we become members of each other so as we get ready to continue with this morning's communion service i'll be reading from first corinthians chapter 11 between verses 23-29 in verse 27 the word of the lord says therefore who whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and the blood of the lord but let a man examine himself and so let him eat of that bread and drink up that cup for he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself not discerning the lord's body so before we continue take a moment to examine our yourself if there's something on you and most of us know when there is give it to the lord give it to him before we continue and let him free you amen [Music] amen in verse 23 the word of the lord says for i receive from the lord that which i also delivered to you that the lord jesus on the same night in which he was betrayed he took the bread and when he had broke it he'd given thanks and said take eat this is my body which is broken for you do this in remembrance of me and you may partake [Music] and in the same manner he also took the cup after supper saying this cup is the new covenant in my blood this do as often as you drink it in remembrance of me and you may partake for as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup you proclaim the lord's death until he comes again heavenly father we thank you lord again for your presence in this house we thank you lord for your work on the cross lord god we thank you for everything that you're you've done in our lives what you're doing now lord god and what you're about to do lord we want to honor and praise you this day in jesus name the church said amen and amen come on give it up for jesus [Music] amen praise the lord now give the lord a real hand clap this morning come on not a patty cake come on give it up for jesus come on how many are glad that you're in your right mind this morning i don't know about you how many come to praise jesus this morning hallelujah how many joined that worship that we had [Music] that song that joshua's saying why can't i praise him as long as i want that's bad i wanted to be a part of that but i thought because i knew the worship leader i wouldn't be able to be a part of that but i i didn't have no jews say man but i got the mic now come on i don't know about you but it's all about worship it's all about coming into the presence of god and really just worshiping the lord man worshiping the lord with air all your might all your heart you'll find out that a lot of stuff that you could defeat within your life is through worship if you would just shake some stuff off because sometimes our hands get heavy and we we're carrying things that we shouldn't even be carrying but if you just throw them down and say ah man it doesn't matter it doesn't matter whatever is happening in the season of my life i'm throwing it down and i'm lifting up my hands to the king of glory the king of kings and you'll find out after you experience the presence of god the bible says that in his presence there's fullness of joy the bible says that the joys of the lord is your strength then god begins to strengthen you and then the trials and all the issues and all the problems that had been taunting you before that they're still there but they don't affect you as much god gives you rest god gives you peace and so so that i don't know about you i come to the house of god to worship and to get into i love the worship my wife loves worship we worship at home our home is a place it's a tabernacle it's a place where we worship god we worship god in our home and when you worship god as a lifestyle then you're going to begin to see your life style begin to change as you begin to worship god man so i just wanted to say that because our worship team is off the chain they're off the hook whatever you want to call them thank god for our worship team and because they're not musicians they're worshipers they're worshippers that know how to play an instrument and that's what makes the difference amen praise the lord and i thank god for that [Applause] but this morning if you have your bible with you go with me to the book of proverbs chapter 29 verse 18. it's a very familiar scripture i'm sure that you heard many sermons many teachings on it well this morning you're going to hear another one but i really believe that that god has something for us we're going to be speaking on the topic or on the subject for about the next four months four months i mean four weeks maybe four months i don't know uh we're going to be talking about vision that we have to have vision and and we know we have a vision here and living word of chino hills our vision you know as part of the family of god that god has engrafted us in is that our vision is to reach teach mend and send everybody say reach we are to reach them at any level you know from the drug addict to the prostitute to the lawyer the doctor it doesn't matter there need a sin is sin amen so we've got to reach them we got to teach them the word of god as they come as we assemble something like this we're teaching the word of god but not only through the preaching of the word but teaching through our lifestyle through your exampleship reach teach mend all we do is provide a place for the holy spirit command the heart of the the people that god is reaching and teaching because we can't mend the heart we can encourage we can speak words of life but it's the holy spirit that begins to really mend the heart of the individual that's the work of the holy ghost and then we begin then the last part of our vision is to send to send them you know into ministry send them you know into the house of the different ministries that we have uh the different opportunities that are here in the church and not only in house but outhouses to send them out that's why we're we plant churches we believe in church planting amen to send them into the highways and to the byways to compel the people to come into his house so his house may be filled we send them out we're ascending ministry that's why we send churches we are the mother church of about eight churches that we have birthed here in living word of chino hills we're ascending church why because that's our vision that's our dna that's what we breathe that's where we live it's real can i hear any man the vision is real so that is our vision and we're going to get into that you know not right now but during this month but what i want to talk about here in proverbs 29 18 the bible says where there is no vision where there is no vision the people perish but he that keepeth the law happy as he where there is no vision the people perish but he that keepeth the law happy is he let's pray father we thank you this morning for your awesome presence that is here in this house god i thank you for your people that you have gathered into this place i pray god that you would speak to our hearts in such a way that would be life-changing god father let our hearts and our minds be open ready to receive from you god your word is what brings life your word is what brings healing your word is what brings direction your word is what brings vision and parts vision to our life father i pray that this morning that your will would be done help me to to just impart everything that you've imparted into me god everything that you placed in my heart let it be transferred and imparted into every heart that is here today father we just love you so much jesus and we're just so grateful and so thankful for everything that you're doing and everything that you're about to do and we give you glory this morning and in the name of jesus everybody said amen and amen praise the lord come on give jesus a hand clap if you can and then you may be seated this morning in the presence of the lord i really love love the first sundays of the month because it's sunday we have communion and i feel that after communion i don't know i have an experience every time i have communion with the lord that there's refreshing and you could feel it in the church uh as uh brother mandom you know talked about that you gotta examine yourself uh um we that's the time that we were confessing all our sins kicking the dog on the way out of the house this morning because you were mad because your clothes weren't clean hello somebody or am i the only one that had the kind of problems amen and so um but thank god i love it on our the first sunday because it's a time when we're able to worship but not only that but we have communion and i really feel that there's a refreshing i could feel it here to this morning there's like a refreshing in the house of god along with the refreshing that i'm going to be talking about i'm going to be talking about vision here we find in proverbs 29 18 the bible says where there is no vision the people perish where there is no vision and what i want to focus on first of all is the people perish and what that really means this morning uh because that is the results of not having vision and i'm going to explain what vision is after i just want to bring forth what is the results of no vision the bible says that they perish that word perish means to loosen to expose to dismiss to go back or make naked to perish to refuse and to uncover the king james says it like this proverbs 28 19 where there is no revelation people cast off restraint but blessed is he is the one who heeds wisdom instructions it talks about cast offs restrained it represents the same thing when you look at that word cast off restraint it is translated as death as death to crush cast off restraint so basically it's the same thing perish means to die as well but in looking at in the light of that it does not necessarily mean physical death it doesn't mean that you're going to die physically where you have no vision that you're going to get you know struck by lightning or the ground is going to open up and you're going to get swallowed up or anything like that what it means is this that that it doesn't necessarily mean physical death but it means death in a sense of uselessness uselessness meaning that that there your life is useless when it comes pertaining to the kingdom of god and the vision that god has for your life because god has vision for each and one of us and i i'm going to get into that this morning i like what it says in in feeling one it kind of gives in you know a little story of what i'm talking about there was a slave named onisi miss and onisi miss had was a runaway slave and and he was uh he had ran from his master and uh and he got caught he was in paul at this time paul was in prison and once was there with paul and paul began to disciple him he imparted life into him and then paul began to write this a a a letter to philemon which was once is a slave owner he was the one that owed him he owned them and he was the one that he fled from and so paul writes to you right here or to fill him on he tells them that i appeal to you for my son onesimus everybody say onesimus don't name your son on easy miss because that would be kind of only miss that would be kind of weird that i appeal to you for my son onesimus who became my son while i was in chains verse 11. formerly he was useless to you but now he has become useful both to you and me what happened to oncimist when he had an encounter with jesus christ through the apostle paul is that onisi miss was useless before he had no vision he was living a life he was running he was running from his the owner that owned them he was running he was on the run he got busted you know it sounds like a lot of our stories can i hear any man somebody we're running uh we had some warrants we had some issues uh you're running from child support you're running from some tickets that you never paid you're running from you know getting caught petty theft or whatever it was but you were running like onisi miss was running and he got he got incarcerated and he got caught and he was in the cell with somebody that was uh full of the holy ghost that had vision that had vision all in him because we're going to get an immunity to that and paul what paul was full of he gave to onesimus and onisimus was a label before that before he had vision imparted to him he was labeled as somebody that was useless i look at my life before i came to christ my life was useless though i was existing and and though i was sucking up air and though i i functioned and though i you know i tried to do what was right but in reality if you look at it from uh uh outward in looking at my life it would say you're it's useless it's like uh who is that uh uh you're useless at nashua some of you know that movie he got so frustrated with him he said you're useless i'm not your liberty anybody ever see that come on we were real this morning can i hear amen that's one of my favorite movies look it up if you haven't said you want to laugh good there's a little christian part in there it says because you are not baptized i got to make you laugh before i make you cry so so you find out that onisi miss before his in his former life paul was you know kind of giving a testimony for him he was saying he was useless he wasn't useful in anything everything that he did it you know he just uh you know tainted it he stained it and he tells here feeling more he tells him formerly he was useless to you but now he has become useful both to you and to me see onesimus was useless with because he had no vision but once he was exposed to the vision of god for his life he became useful that's why vision is so important where there is vision where there is no vision that people perish we meet we reign useless well how do you consider useless i'm talking about kingdom minded kingdom uh related uh to the kingdom of god that that when we don't understand the vision of god for our life we're here on this earth and we're wasting time we're useless to the kingdom we're just living our life and we're doing what we want what we feel that is good what we feel that we think that is right we're enjoying the blessing of god and everything but we are useless because if you have no vision the bible says the people perish in other words that they die spiritually and they become useless for the kingdom see all of us here that have been blood-bought blood washed born again believers that that we were pulled up from darkness and brought into god's marvelous life god didn't pull us up with with not any having anything in mind he has a vision for your life there's purpose there's meaning of why god saved you and why you didn't die and all the friends that you know there a lot of them are dead and buried right now a lot of them are doing life in prison right now they're on the shelf right now they're they're somewhere with no hope no direction in our life but you're here and god has given you grace and mercy he gave you another opportunity he pulled you out for a reason not just because you look good can i hear an amen somebody or because you're slick or because you're like that no because god has a purpose for your life he has a vision that he wants to one part into your life so you can fulfill so you can run with so you could pursue onesimus was there formerly he was useless but he had an encounter with god through a man named paul that was full of vision he was full of vision how do i know that because it says there in paul's testimony in acts 26 16 and 20. paul was there and he said this is the apostle paul he was persecuting the church he was a pharisee he was a young man that was well educated and but it was something wrong he had nothing but religion he had no relationship with god and at this time he was persecuting the church he was going from door to door and finding out people that were caught that were following the way they used to call it the way the christians back in that day and he was hunting him down he was locking some up and not only that but he was giving the approval to even some of them their death like the like the martyr stephen was the first christian martyr paul was there giving the approval of that he was on the road to damascus he had letters from from the the chief pharisees to go and to incarcerate other christians he was on his way he was going down the road to damascus all of a sudden the bible says that a bright light struck him and he blinded him he fell off his horse and he was on the ground and then that bright light approached him and then this is what the lord told him acts chapter 26 16 and 20. and what paul is doing he's repeating this to king agrippa because he's being charged for for preaching the gospel he tell he's telling that he's right here as a witness of what god has done within his life and the vision that god had put in him before king agrippa check it out he's translating what happened he says he then then he said now get up and stand on your feet this was the lord talking to paul he said i have appeared to you and pointed to you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will seen of me verse 17. then he goes on to say i will rescue you from your own people and from the gentiles he said i will rescue you then he goes on to say i am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light from the power of satan to god so that they may receive forgiveness as sins and a place among those who are being sanctified by faith in me verse 19 this is paul talking to king agrippa and then he goes so then king agrippa i was not disobedient to the vision from heaven first to those in damascus then to those in jerusalem in all judea and then to the gentiles i preach that they should repent and turn to god and demonstrate the repentance by their deeds so paul was there he was being charged for what he'd been called to do and he was before king agrippa he gave him a testimony and he was basically saying hey man i'm just responding to the heavenly vision that god had poured into my life that god revealed to me and i did not know i was not obedient to it and that's what i've been doing and that's what happens when you get infected by vision that's why onesimus was there in the same cell with him he got infected by that man see when you have a vision and you have vision from god you infect other people with vision you get people to open their eyes to see that there's more to life than what they've been experiencing that's when you know that you've been infected with vision and vision will will infect other people to open up their hearts to god and open our eyes to god and they would begin to seek god and seek god's purpose and god's plan for their life vision see sometimes we start off with god's living vision i mean you get born again you get saved you get delivered and you wake up from with god's living vision and are very useful for the kingdom of god but in the process of time waiting for the vision can be come discouraging distracted and sometimes you experience you're being destroyed leaving us spiritually dead and taking us from useless useful to useless because we have no living vision alive within us reminds me of the story of the prodigal son all these things you could relate to vision that they had received you know the story of the prodigal son he was there with his father and his brother his father was very wealthy the prodigal son was there and he you know i could imagine he was there said man you know there's got to be more to life than this you know just feeding these chickens and feeding these pigs and there's got to be more to life than this and he probably saw on instagram he probably saw all these other the parties that were going on or at that time they probably called it a rock-a-gram hello somebody and so so he was there and you know he probably heard by way of what was happening and because the lifestyle that he got entangled with he knew what he was doing so he went to his father and he said okay pops check this out man i've been working for you all these years and i want my inheritance i want the inheritance that you have for my life and so the father was there and he he said okay you want what you got coming he gave him all his money all this inheritance the kid the young guy said fine praise the lord he didn't say praise the lord he said he didn't say thank you jesus either hello somebody he took everything and then in luke chapter 15 14 to 24 this is what happened after he spent everything after he spent everything he had no more money so he had no more honey how many know when you got money everybody is your friend right you got money man you're the life of the party yeah because they're using you hello and some people like to be used because they just are lonely but the bible says after he had spent everything there was a severe famine in the whole country and he began to be in need he had needs within his life so he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country who sent him to his fields to feed pigs and then the 16 says he longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating man that's pretty bad he was pretty low and that was like slop that was all the leftovers that nobody and he was feeding the pigs these he he hired himself out and just to kind of get some kind of resources because he had a lot of needs and he wanted to eat them pods he longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating but no one gave him anything verse 17 then he came to his senses in other words he had a revelation a revelation is a vision it's vision a gut vision a a vision came to him the bible says that then he had came to his senses he said how many of my fathers hired servants have food to spare and here i am starving to death i will set out and go back to my father and say to him father i have sinned against heaven and against you i'm no longer worthy to be called your son make me like one of your hired servants so he got up and went to his father but while he was still a long way off his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him he ran to his son threw his arms around him and kissed him the son said to him he said the speech that he was practicing on the way over there father i have sinned against heaven and against you i am no longer worthy to be called your son verse 22 but the father said to his servants quick bring the best robe and put it on him put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet bring the fattened calf and kill it we're going to have some cardinal saba can i hear your name as somebody and then he goes let us have a feast and celebrate check it out verse 24 for the son of mine was dead he was dead with no vision in his life he thought that he was pursuing uh of a destiny that he had created within his own mind but it brought him to a dead place how many people pursued it something that you thought it was what you needed i just need a man i just need a woman i just need money i just need a job and you begin to pursue the things that are of this world and you find out it's just another dead end that there ain't no fulfillment to it and that's what this prodigal son experienced and but the father knew the father understood he had wisdom and he said for the son of mine was dead in spirit and in vision but now is alive again because of the vision of heaven that god gave him revelation that way he was enlightened again and run back to where he came from that's exactly what happened to a lot of us uh that backslid that we came in at the beginning we were useful for the kingdom of god we got transferred from darkness to light god lit us up we were the light of god and we were the light of all mankind that was inside of us we were preaching to people we were telling people about the love and the mercy and the grace of jesus christ can i hear an amen somebody we were telling people that we were people of darkness but now we're people of light god has been so good to us and we preach the gospel because we were in love with jesus christ the lover of our soul and we know we didn't deserve what we've been given and we know it was only by god's grace his unmerited favor that god poured in our life and we were excited we wouldn't we wouldn't miss a church service we wouldn't miss a prayer meeting we wouldn't miss any time the house of god and the doors of god's house were open we were there can i hear an amen somebody you were being useful all of a sudden we get a weird thought oh god i want my inheritance i want it now and it doesn't happen so you begin to create it your own self you begin to pursue wealth you begin to pursue that woman that man hello somebody you begin to pursue the things of the world the toys of this world and you begin to pursue all the pleasures uh and all the passions of this world thinking that that's what you need but my friend i'm gonna tell you before you even get there if you're there right now that that is meaningless too it's empty it will not fill the void that is in your life that it only gets filled when you begin to pursue the vision and the purpose that god has for your life because it's only when you begin to pursue the vision and purpose that god has for your life that's where there's fullness of life there's fullness of joy and that's where all your inheritance at and that's where all your blessings is at i know what i'm talking about i did both of them i did both sides i lived on both sides of the fence i've been there and i've done that and i said that don't work that is empty that is shallow there is no fulfillment in life in that yeah i would be able to enjoy it but it's just for a season there's no longevity in that i said man that is useless that is useless i want to be useful in the kingdom of god and though this may be a little bit harder though this may be a time of sacrifice though this might be a time of dealing with myself and my issues but this side is well worth it because the benefits are out of this world when you begin to pursue what god has for your life and it begins to import things into your life it's like never before it ain't com no comparison to what this world has to offer nothing there's no comparison cannot even be on the same scale vision where there is no vision the people perish where the vision is not alive within our heart within our mind though you may look good on the outside though your heart is beating you look good you still look like you have life but in reality in your heart and your spirit you know there's death all around there if you want to be real with yourself you can numb yourself with the pleasures of the world you can numb yourself with some woman some man you can learn yourself with money in the bank you can numb yourself with all these things uh but when that that that numbing starts to you begin to start feeling life again and god will take you to that place you're going to find out you ain't got nothing you're empty and you're being useless well you don't understand in the eyes of the world i look like i'm being successful well how do you look in the eyes of god think about it i'm not more concerned about how i look in the eyes of god than the eyes of man he got quiet in this baptist church okay now that i said that that kind of blew everything out of the water everything that we were banking on let me give you this what is vision what is vision what is vision definition of vision is mentally to perceive a sight a mental side that is a dream a revelation an oracle a guide and vision that is one of the definitions of vision to take it a step further into where we're at here this morning a vision from god is a word from god for a purpose time place or people read your bible whenever god wanted to move a person into a purpose they had a vision they had a revelation and when they obeyed it or they respond to it then they lived out their purpose when god called jeremiah he was there he thought he couldn't do it he was a young kid he said lord i'm too young and he said do not say you're too young i will give you the words to speak that was god giving him a revelation a vision of what he was going to do you read that all through the bible men and women we just heard about the apostle paul a vision from god is a word from god for a purpose and for a time a time a certain time and see a time is a season where god wants to bring a shift or god wants to move it a church or move a people to another way a different direction it's at fourth time or fourth place or a people i believe that right now because of everything that is happening all them conditions are applying to us right now there's a purpose we're in the right time this is the place and we are the people that god wants to impart life that there's going to be given vision vision is going to come vision is god speaking it's a word from god for a purpose time place or people it means that god shows someone his will when god shows somebody his will i didn't even know when i was in the men's home i was having visions i would sit in the men's home the pastor would preach he would be preaching man getting down the word of god and i would see him but i would see myself preaching and but i looked at myself and i said i can never do that i don't have what it takes unless they you know they gave me some drugs and i know they're not going to do that because when i was under the influence of the drug i you know i was back daddy hello somebody you know i was suave i was good man feeling good and able to talk but when i was sober when i was in my right mind i had all kinds of vices all kinds of issues all kinds of complexes all kinds even though i hit him you know you hide these things and i thought i could never do it but god was revealing a vision and he didn't leave me alone every time i would see somebody preach or see somebody preach i would see myself and i even saw myself preaching and jumping up and down and why am i getting all crazy and spitting out baptizing everybody in the first two rows with the holy holy anointing we got to put splash zone in the front have some plastic jackets [Applause] and i used to see myself doing that and i would thought it was me but then me would consider what i just thought and me would tell myself no way that'll never happen to you you can't even talk you never went to school you you know you went to a boys school and you even told the teacher what grades you want and they gave it to you you you have no edumacation you know you had nothing going for you you don't even know how to read you know you don't know how to talk and i would look at myself and i would oh man that's just me tripping again i'm just tripping again and then but every time i would see it i would see it and because i didn't think i was able to do it then because god will god will bring to pass what he wants for your life whether you're whether you're in agreement in it or he'll make a way that you that you have no other opportunity if he wants you that bad and i think he wants all of us that bad because he loves us it's like a father knows what's best for his children and you'll do whatever you have to do to make sure your children make help make the right decision that's how god is with us but i used to see myself and there was a vision that god was having in my life and i remember the first time that i had to say something in front of a people with a mic in my hand we were at a rally in the projects in oxnard at the projects right there were having an outdoor rally they had music going on there were you know uh singing and stuff like that and i was in the men's home all the mines were out the foot soldier were passing out flyers telling people come and check it out we're going to be giving away some stuff and come and hear some testimonies of some people that you know have had their lifestyle changed and we're out there and i'm right there and i'm we're passing on flyers and then i think i shared it with the church i'm going to just share it again in case you didn't hear it but i remember i was there passing out flyers and all the music stop and and one of the leaders in the church said okay we're going to hear some testimonies uh we're going to hear some um testimonies some of some men that had an encounter with jesus christ they all said we're going to call it brother manuel and i said i was this other dude i said he just said he said manual and he goes yeah he said i must be another man you ain't talking about me i'm in the men's home man i don't know what i'm doing you know when you're missing you want to be the victim i don't know what no you know sorry and so and then they so i just ignored it and they said can somebody find manual brother manual from the men's home and bring him up here and i went no he did it and i remember oh my god in the men's home you're learning obedience right now home you're learning obedience right you better obey and so i'm learning obedience that's one of the first things i was learning to obey because i was disobedient when i was in the world didn't listen to nobody and so i knew that was and so i was learning obedience and i said dang he keeps calling me i gotta go up there i go okay so i'm gonna i just went out of obedience i was walking but everything in me was like no no but i was walking because i was being obedient [Applause] and i remember they gave me the mic and there was about a hundred maybe 150 people that were standing there you saw ah you know it's and i got the mic and they all right brother manuel come on up come on give a testimony of what he's in our men's home and god pulled him out he was in gangs and drugs go ahead and give a testimony and i remember i got the mic and i looked at everybody and everybody was looking at me you know back and then when they look at you then you give a bad dog look right what's up man what are you looking at me for man you know and i remember i started doing that like what y'all staring at me for man and so but i remember i was there but i felt something and i felt something started to burn in my heart and i just i just i just said by faith man i i said okay i'm gonna do this man i gotta and i just started saying man you know what my name is manuel and yeah i'm from l.a and and you know i'm here to tell you that that jesus christ man i had an encounter with jesus christ uh something happened and my love was a heroin act i was a doping i was a gang member in and out of jail but i'm here to tell you today that that jesus christ is alive and i remember i started preaching and my hands started going like this and i'm here to let you know i'm like whoa i'm here to let you know that god is real that god loves you that god has a plan for your life and i found a burden in my heart i found a fire right here within my spirit that when i gave the mic back i was shaking i was shaking and i said what the heck happened you know i was a doping i used to chase a rush and i said that was good stuff man i said i want another hit of that i said dang it just took over my life and i just started preaching i saw my hand going back and forth a fire was in my spirit right here within my chest like there was a fire in my heart and i started preaching man and i was shaking after everyone was looking at me like damn bro you were so quiet in the hole what the heck and i remember that that happened and even the the leaders were like wow all right man you know wow and he took but after that then they started taking me to the juvenile hall taking they were picking me up from the home do give your testimony again and i was over there with all these youngsters man and i had a passion for these youngsters that were in the home but i don't want them to go the same route that i went man so i was i started preaching and i was going with the jail ministry i was only in the home about three months god was doing a work with him my life the vision of god that i had seen it came to pass there was life and i found out that was life this is what god created me to do very when i was very young in my walk with the lord i said man this is good i've never been this way before this is totally different from what i've known but i know it's not me it has to be god this has to be god then i began to pursue the call of god in my life and i had to deal with my issues they had to deal with my condition i had to deal with all the things that that i picked up when i was in the world i had to die to certain things i i just said okay god because i had a vision in my life a vision brought life a vision but a vision brought a fire within my heart a passion man and i wanted to do what god called me to do i didn't care anymore i was after like a pit bull and a pork chop can i hear any man somebody i was pursuing the vision the call of god in my life and it's been over almost 30 years and i'm still doing the same thing because a vision of god will not only keep you right but it'll keep you going forward in the things of god when you lose vision you begin to die when you lose your vision vision means so much it brings life it brings passion it brings and motivates you it keeps you when you hit storms in life god uses that vision the purpose and why he called you telling you i'll never leave you nor forsake you i called you for a time such as this man you you trusted me you hold on you press in and you're gonna see what i can do you're gonna see that things are gonna get better they'll never go back they'll keep going forward as long as you trust me with all your heart and mind and strength i will never take you back to the world i have a plan i have a destiny i have a purpose inside of you you have more inside of you manuel and there's more and i'm pursuing it my wife and i are pursuing everything that god has for our life why because we have vision vision yeah it's the lord it's the spirit of god but vision is the voice of god speaking into our life and what he called us to do it's vision vision and means that god shows someone his will that's what vision is we heard about the apostle paul in acts 26 16 and 20 that was vision also about abraham abraham chapter 13 of genesis 14 and 17. the lord said to abram after lot had departed from him love represented strife because lots hurts men were constantly in conflict with abraham's herdsmen lot was abraham's nephew he loved them but it was bringing conflict and because of that it's kind of abraham's vision wasn't as clear as it should have been what the bible says the lord said to abram after lot had left him after strife had left him he said now now the lord said to abram now lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are standing he said look northward southward eastward and westward for all the land which you see i will give to you and to your descendants forever it was a vision some of you need to lift up your eyes and see the possibilities that god has for your life some of you are looking down or looking back or looking to somebody or looking to a job or looking to things that are in this world that you're looking to and because of that it's bringing strife it's in competition with your relationship with god it's in competition and when there's two things that are in your life that you're trying to desire they're going to have conflict a lot of you are looking to these through this world for things that you need and because of that you can't see the vision of god for your life or for your family man of god if you have a a home and you're you're having a you're married you have children your family is depending on you man of god to lead your family right into the vision that god has for your life because that's where all the provisions that's where all the wealth that's where all the inheritance that's where there's going to be peace joy in the holy ghost i'm not saying that you're not going to experience hardship you will but you'll go through it and it won't get in you it might be around you but it won't affect anything in you because vision will keep life in you as you go through that season he told abraham now lift up your eyes after strife had left see once you depart once you break loose from the things that your eyes are on right now the things that you are using in place of god the things that you're using in this world that are bringing you with your trying to fill you once you look away from that then you're able to lift up your eyes and put your eyes on your maker then you're able to look from the place where you're standing then you could see the place that where you're actually at because some of us are deceived and you're not where you should be but once strife is gone and the things that competing with the relationship that you have with god are there you can't see it but once they're gone then you can see where you're standing man i should be over there i should have been there but i'm here because my eyes were there i'm going to have my wife coming up at this time i'm just going to finish with this because i got a lot more but i'm going to save the rest for wednesday then the lord said to abram after lord had left him now lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are standing in other words it wasn't didn't stop there god show okay where are you standing you might have got a little of course abraham because you got caught up in lot you got caught up in strife look where you're standing look up and now look northward southward eastward you got to hit the east side hello somebody come on the east side and the west side from my west side however side people and and west side he says for all the land which you see all the land where you're at god's saying okay i know where you're at and i want you to see where you're at but you're not going to stay where you're at you're not going to stay where you're at you will stay with your at if you don't lift up your eyes and you continue to run with lot or put a lot in place of where god should be so he cut loose lot now he lifted up his eyes and he looked from the place where he was standing okay he's saying oh that's cool you're all right it's okay don't worry about where you're standing lift up your eyes and look northward eastward southward westward see all those opportunities possibilities that i have for you that if you can see it if you can see it all the land which you see i don't know about you but i would man if god said i'm going to give you everything you see i would bring up telescopes i would bring out man all kinds of stuff man i need you know i'll go up on a rock so i could see man man if god says you can see it you can have it and that's what vision does if you can see and perceive it and i'm not talking about self-driven visions or self-driven motivation of this for self if it's not from god it's not vision if it's not from god god is the only one that speaks true vision that brings life the devil will speak vision that will bring death the devil is an imitator of god the devil's speaking vision just like god's speaking vision no you need to get a job this doesn't matter who's going to pay your you know the devil will make you feel obligated and make you think you're doing the right thing when you're doing the wrong thing and he's giving you vision but his vision brings death and destruction because his whole motive behind it is to kill steal and destroy but god gives vision and his vision gives life and man it's the best thing that you could have it's a vision that god it's because there's safety there there's safety god begins to direct your steps he begins to to prepare you for what he has and a lot of times god will give you vision and sometimes the vision will scare you because you think you don't have what it takes to do what god's called you to do you think you can't do it or you think uh it's just me nah that's what i used to think when i was in the home now it's just me again i'm tripping i'm still tripping on that pcp that i smoked my mind still fried a little bit oh man it was vision from god and i thought i couldn't do it but some people get afraid of the vision when god begins to reveal it to you or you feel that you're not ready for it some some people even do this i know the vision but i'm not ready for it i'll do it when i'm ready when i get right when i get everything together in my life and i have everything right and perfect then i could go ahead and step into this vision that god has for me i got issues that i gotta i got pressing needs right now and i'll see see if you have that kind of mindset you're never you're gonna waste the vision away [Music] you're gonna get old and then god's got to give you that revelation again and then you're going to say man i should have did it a long time ago i wasted all this time i wasted all this time when i should have responded back then if you're young and you're in your young early 20s or even in your late teens or in your 30s now it is a time to respond to what god has for your life if you're a little older you know 50 in the 40s or even 60s it's not too late you don't know how much longevity god will bless your life as you begin to turn to want to do his will god is able to allow you to nowaday people live a long time cannot hear an amen somebody i know some old saints man that are still that are old and still doing what god's called them to do can i hear on amen it doesn't matter age and time there's no problem to god because he's the creator of both of them [Music] for all the land which you see i will think about giving it to you i might consider it well if you do things right ah maybe then after considering there's nothing in between them two statements all the land which you see i will give to you and your descendants your children that the blessing of god and everything that god is going to provide because you're obedient to the vision that god has for your life guess what you just line up your kids for the blessing you line your kids up for the blessing the life that you receive that's imparted to them they walking right behind you they're walking in the light that you provided and the vision and the hope that you're bringing and your kids see it your kids taste it your kids see that is good even though if they will apart from it they will come back to it just like that prodigal son they will come back if they go ahead and they go straight leave them alone they're gonna come to their senses they're gonna get a taste of the world say my god this is ugly this is filthy there ain't no hope in here they'll run back to the presence of god but the bible says it's for your descendants for ever forever what does that mean in the hebrew it means for ever forever all of your kids your grandkids your great-grandkids your great-great-great-grandkids your great-great-great-great-great-great-grandkids all the way down you're literature god will bless them god will provide for them if you make the decision to respond to god if you make the choice to say god no more i want what you have i'm tired of playing games i'm tired of doing what i want god i want the promises i want your plan your purpose your destiny for my life hallelujah come on stand to your feet [Music] i don't know if you understand what this word is saying right now well that's the old testament pastor well if you're so into the old in the new testament the bible says that jesus christ is the same yesterday today and forever god's promises are the same [Music] today [Music] forever god's plan the same yesterday [Music] god doesn't change he's not tripping up in heaven like we trip like we flip and flop one day we're all in love with god next day we're demon possessed [Music] god don't trip like that god is true to his word he's faithful to his word we say well god is faithful let me let me just say something when god's word says that god is faithful and we we use it oh god is faithful he's gonna you know see you need to understand what he's faithful to he loves you but he's faithful to his word to his word for your life which is vision he's faithful to see that come to pass he's faithful to his word because he's spoken and he's faithful to make sure it comes to pass that's where his faithfulness not to you personally he's faithful to his because this word doesn't come back boy [Music] i don't know about you but i believe that some of us here this morning we need to stir up some vision in our heart and i know without a shadow of a doubt that god has imparted vision to every person in this room [Music] you know how come i know that because the vision of god begins at salvation through the spoken word of god how did you receive christ by somebody preaching the word of god whether it was a pastor whether it was a a witnesser or somebody witnessing or a family member they were telling you that jesus loves you he has a plan for your life he died for you preaching the word of god all of a sudden you're there in your sin you know people told you about it over and over and over and again but you never responded all of a sudden this one time it's like the lights went on that's a revelation that's the vision of god saying you better do it now because today is the day of salvation tomorrow might be too late and you responded to the call to the vision of god and you said yes jesus i need you i want you come into my life that is where vision begins through salvation it's god showing someone his will and it was his will that you come to know him on that day you did [Music] but somehow for many of us vision has died [Music] we have a lot in our life a lot can be a whole lot of stuff you're too busy or you have a lot that represents strife they're battling for who god is in your life i believe that this morning that god is gonna want us to leave lord alone let it go and lift up your eyes and see where you're standing god will give you a perspective of where you're at [Music] but not only that he's not saying therefore to discourage you he's just saying maybe you lost some ground but it's all right it's not over god has a final word he said lift up your eyes now look for where you're standing and look and see and all the land that you see i'm getting ready to give to you and to your descendants forever i believe god is bringing us to that place as every head bowed in every eye close hallelujah [Music] jesus spirit of god we give you liberty this morning to do what you want in us god oh god many of us have fallen away from vision and we're barely existing god we're just maintaining life from a past experience but lord i pray that you would stir this church that you would stir every heart like never before that you bring vision alive god in us where there's vision there's life where there's vision there's hope oh where there's vision there's purpose and everything else begins to fade away problems issues oh jesus stir know i'm outdated but it's all right but they probably heard about it and just invite somebody bring them out there's going to be plenty of food for everybody just come and stay a few hours and let's just have a good bring the kids out we're going to have games for the kids and stuff like that so we're going to have a great time amen praise the lord you love jesus come on come on how many love or it's vision that gives us a drive it's a division that you place in us that just brings purpose in this god for some of us may have lost our purpose but bring let's move into the destiny that you
