UTV repairs

all right this video we're going to be fixing the clutch in a yamaha rhino utv so i was in the middle of filming a video about tracks versus tires and probably running this thing a little too hard while doing that and it doesn't move anymore so let's uh see what's going on with it let me try to move it and the clutch it was just slipping so you know like it would sound like that maybe the belt broke i don't know let's figure it out fix it [Music] [Music] [Music] so [Music] [Music] so oh [Music] so go in with this [Music] that's i feel like this shouldn't spin does this freely completely fine [Music] [Music] good okay drain the oil to do this [Music] same same same same all right and that's nice it's the long short short short there's a lot okay [Music] let's see what wears down on these these points kind of wear off of them see how much more they stick up and same on the inside as you can see in there versus the new one [Laughter] [Applause] and that goes right there [Music] okay so now you can see this only spins one way now my bearing was a separate problem then the machine not moving this was a problem when you'd go down hills in this machine the engine would not slow the thing down look at that it doesn't even turn that way a hair okay all right [Music] new piece is the reason we started this job in the first place new belt uh uh uh so [Music] i don't think the four wheel drive is working hang on it's in four wheel drive oh there's y right there look at that it's here it's a broken cv shaft all right let's just order that so foreign so hmm [Music] this should pull right now all right just making sure that looks the same that does mm-hmm um um [Music] something okay [Music] yeah we're sitting there all right don i felt like that took like 15 minutes other than that that was very smooth okay let's uh got a muffler for this oh god look at that sheared right off of there the muffler got kind of loud on this thing gradually so let's see what's going on with that take this bed off it looks pretty easy to do that stays down [Applause] easy it's kind of heavy all right so looks like it's loose in this connection it's broken right there i probably could have welded this you know what all right so i maybe could have welded this but sometimes when this type of pipe gets fatigued it'd be welding it forever so [Applause] that looks the same let's go in [Music] [Music] all right there you go [Music] because this is hitting here [Music] like that then it hits here so you can't i mean i guess that's not looking that hard just um loosen those all right okay that's where that goes [Music] hmm what's going on here let's see what that does [Music] so [Music] look at that all right that's on there pretty tight not touching the frame anywhere where it's going to rattle i don't have to re-engineer that a drop [Music] but [Applause] that's a lot quieter whenever an atv or something like this needs a replacement muffler make sure you get one that's original or one that's a copy of the original because there's a lot of performance mufflers on the market which all they do is make the thing obnoxiously loud make sure to get an original muffler it's important the loud ones are just they don't they don't add any performance it's just just loud video a couple years ago i welded this right here and pete people always say something about wilding oh it's never gonna hold or whatever well years later it's still fine cody's coming to inspect it you're the lab inspector yes breaking these off because i'd lay like i-beams on here and then and then dump it and then they would get knocked off but these ones are kind of lower [Music] and now when you go down hills the engine slows you down hey buddy what are you doing you wanna go for a ride thank you hey levi what do you think the rhino working nice all right so that's good that's fixed the transmission's working the way it should be and it's nice and quiet now so when this broke i was in the middle of filming a tracks verse tires video and i wasn't exactly being nice to this thing and it stopped moving i thought it was a small repair i was just gonna include that repair in that video but then it was a bigger job so worthy of its own video but now this is fixed i can continue on that video all right it's good having this fixed because i've been using this thing so much even just working around here this is like the most useful little utility vehicle with this bed on it um i've probably driven this thing up and down this hill a thousand times last year building this from like the second story to the the third story it was just easier to drive this thing all right well this is all done let's go work on something else so [Music] you
