*UPDATED* How to Download & Install Custom Content | Sims 4 Dummies How to Aesthetic Gameplay

The Sims Community is growing rapidly and I get comments every single day asking how do you get your game like that or my game doesn't look like that how do I make mine look like yours if you're interested in upgrading your gameplay and Sims content welcome to my miniseries called Sims 4 for dummies the guide to creating aesthetic gameplay first episode an updated version on how to download and install custom content for The Sims 4 the first thing you want to do is locate your Electronic Arts folder mine is in my files head over to documents find electronic art Art Is Right Here electronic art The Sims 4 and you should have a mods folder in here if you do not have a mods folder in here I will show you how to get one in order to get the mods folder you'll have to open up the Sims 4 Once the Sims 4 is open go to options go to game options go all the way down to other and then you'll see enable custom content and mods click that your game will have to be restarted but once you click this you'll click script mods allowed as well make sure you hit accept and click apply apply changes to apply the changes exit your game and what you do is open the Sims 4 again and you will have your mods filer so my Sims game is opening and right over here my mods folder has popped up with the resource file make sure you do not delete this if you delete this you might have to reinstall the Sims 4 or I will just have a download link just for this so you guys can download it and put it in your mods folder now that you have a mods filer let's start downloading custom content so you'll have to exit The Sims 4 because you cannot download content while this is open so I like to use two websites which is Pinterest and Tumblr I even use YouTube on occasion I like downloading is very self-explanatory I'm going to show you how to like the gist of it I really like this cartoony face mask this is one of the face masks that I use on a lot of my Sims I'm hovering over this picture with my mouse to find the download link which is on patreon once you're on their patreon you'll click this little link right here in blue and download the cartoony face mask in order to locate what you just downloaded I like to right click on the file and open downloads in another window and then I'll open my mods folder I should mention that my. package file has the Chrome sign because I accidentally opened my package file with Chrome yours will look blank that is the correct way of how your package file should look you're not supposed to open them you're supposed to put them in your mods folder like decoration if you do accidentally open it with chrome do not worry it does not affect your package file and it will show up in your game like normal I also like to create a new folder so we'll call this one skin overlays inside of our mods folder just to keep everything organized I can double click that and drag the new face mask into my mods folder let's do that a couple more times so I really like these shoes so I'm going to click their patreon page and we're going to download these leg warmers um I guess we can call this accessories so we can call this accessories and I'm going to drag the leg warmers into the accessories in my mods folder and do this one more time on Tumblr this works with literally any website just download the file file leads to their patreon and we're going to download this beautiful hair if you get azip file you will need wiir or windzip I will have those applications Linked In the description box below you have wi RAR or windzip downloaded just double click it drag all these files into your mods folder so I will drag this into my mods folder and we can make a new folder by I'm doing right clicking and clicking new folder by the way you're going to rename it and type in hair and we can distract these into our hair folder now listen very closely the only only packages allowed in your mods folder is package and ts4 script what is ts4 script that is a package that allows gameplay mods to run correctly inside your game for example a gameplay mod is something that alters your gam playay like this cute bed cuddle mod that was in The Sims 3 but has been converted by modders for The Sims 4 let's say you want to download this bed cuddle mod you click the first link and the second link because they are intertwined once I double click this mod you'll see the pancake when one bed cuddle. packet and this bed cuddle. ts4 script the script is what allows the mod to run correctly inside of your game without this this mod will not work at all so opening my mods folder I'm going to make a new folder and call it gameplay mods and you can drag this into your gameplay mods folder what can go inside of your mods folder package and do script Furniture can go in here makeup can go in here gameplay mods can go in here do not overthink it at all please so you can go crazy and download as much C as you want right now but we're going to check to see if this is in our game correctly so I'm going to open my Sims 4 game once your game is open you can go to options game options other and you can click view custom content you can see all the custom content that we downloaded is inside of our mods and inside of our game let's see if that hair by Sims trouble is inside of our game so I'm going to filter this by going to content custom content making sure I'm check marking this hitting check and we can see right here that the hair by Sims trouble is in our game next that skin overlay will be in skin detail and I can see it right here with the custom CC wrench and it is the cutest skin overlay I have ever used so congratulations on learning how to download and install CC for The Sims 4 if you have any questions
