How to download and Install Custom Content | The Sims 4

Sims 4 just became free to play on all platforms October 18th and you want to know how to download CC well I got you hi and welcome to my channel my name is Terry I am a variety gamer who's currently obsessed with the Sims 4. first off what is CC CCS custom content made by thousands of simmers on social media to spice up and diversify your game their CC for just about anything like hair makeup even gameplay wise to my knowledge cc is only available on PC so I'm sorry if you play Sims on a console but before you can start downloading CC you need to do a couple things inside your game first so open up the Sims go to options don't worry yours won't look like mine um go to game options go all the way down to other make sure script mods allowed is check marked and enable custom content and mods is also check marked and click apply changes and completely exit out of the Sims 4. downloading cc is super easy you just need to locate your Electronic Arts folder which should be in your documents Electronic Arts The Sims 4 and 5 on your mods folder now that you're in the mods folder you want to leave this resource file alone you will not touch it at all this is what makes the CC work in your games this is a personal preference but I would start adding folders like hair clothes and just like tattoos and stuff just to keep them separated trust me you will thank yourself in the future later now that that's done you can start installing CC you can get CC from Pinterest Tumblr The Sims resource and even on YouTube downloading cc is pretty self-explanatory just find a piece of custom content that you like and download it so we're gonna download this Vera Hair by dog sale they have two links which is a headband and the hair if it's on patreon you just have to click the link it will automatically download at the bottom you can drag it from here or you can just open a new windows and drag it in your hair file and then it's installed in your game so let's say you are scrolling through my Pinterest and you see all the super cute CC and you want to download it click what you see click what you like and we're going to download these cute floral tops they're corsets and you want to download the top or the skirt you can click both and these are from Sim file share and it's the same thing kind of as patreon it'll automatically download So since we downloaded close we would put these in our close folder and keep them separate from everything else the same thing would go for gameplay mods you put them in your mods folder if you're not sure where something goes it'll most likely go in your mods folder don't overthink it don't overdo it will always be in your mods folder now let's say you want to download a Sim or like a house or some type of community lot that you found online into the Sims that will require a little bit of a different process but it's not totally hard so first you'll need something like WinRAR or wind zip to extract the file I use your WinRAR for this example we're gonna use a mutual a lonely tray and we're gonna download Violet at the bottom right now it is downloading and we're gonna have to extract it soon so now that it's done downloading I'm just gonna open it and it'll look like this you'll have these files right here and you'll also have a mods folder but what I like to do is I like to go ahead and put the mods folder I have a separate folder for downloaded Sims and I just plop that into there you don't need this folder anymore you want to go to The Sims 4 the tray file right here tray double click and that's where these number files go just drag that into there and you will have the Sim in your gallery waiting for you so if you're downloading a Sim or a house make sure your mods are in your mods folder and make sure the tray files are in the tray section in this tray folder because without the mods that came with the downloaded Sim or house it will be removed once you place it into your game now you're done and you can open up your Sims game and start going through all of your CC that you've downloaded I like to filter it to custom content so it's easier to find and here is the hair we downloaded the Vera Hair by dog so super cute and now you know how to download and install cc into your Sims 4 game leave a comment down below if you are a little confused or you need more help I will happily answer all your questions but if you enjoyed this video please leave a comment like And subscribe and I'll see you guys in the next one bye foreign [Music]
