report today my opponent will be luca luca the dice hello everybody laser cat eyes destroying everything on the battlefield that's what's going to happen he's feeling these ultramarines i'm fielding these world eaters the last time i fought luca i battled against his space bulls if you haven't seen that battle check it out in the mini wargaming vault otherwise what we're doing today is a scourge earth eternal war mission 1750 points each and we're just going to duke it out to see who can hold the most objectives and possibly destroy each other's objectives because that part is fun and i think that's something that corn would approve of let's take a look at the armies here we have 1700 and i won't lie 51 points i forgot to pay for the storm bolter underneath uh the arm on the vendread so i'm one point over i apologize deeply this is ultramarines believe it or not one of my favorite loyalist chapters i suppose is because the the books do them justice and i've been i've been getting through the books quite quickly recently and i just generally love them leading this force is going to be a captain who likes to smash he's going to have a thunder hammer he's going to have a storm shield he is going to have the adept of the the adept of the codex roller trait is just whenever i spend a stratagem i get command points back on a five-up it's like the generic ultramarine one i just don't want to have to overthink what i'm doing with the army that's an easy one to remember he is gonna have one of my favorite relics in the game though it's the helm accenture it is sergeant thiel's helmet from the horace harris say he's the original space marine who decided to practice combat between space marines like what would happen if we ever had to fight each other he was censured for that that's what the red helmet meant but now obviously gilman realized how important that was once the heresy broke out and he made it a mark of honor thus is why space marine ultramarines specifically wear red helmets if they're a sergeant it's just kind of a nice shadow to feel and that's i just like that because you know i've read the books and it's kind of neat anyways what that does is it gives me the ability to reroll heroes of one he's already captain he does that and we roll wound rules of one but if i attack other space marines uh adept as astartes or heretic astartes they get plus one to hit and wound as well so he's plus one hit move the thunder hammer the other support characters here we have a chaplain who's gonna know catechism of fire as his litany he's just got his crosies and his bull pistol and then we are going to have a left tenant on the right he's got a master crafted auto bolt rifle it's kind of like the first primarist ones that came out so it's an older kind of army and then on to troops starting on the very left we have a squad of five intercessors with bolt rifles and then we have two 10-man squads of tactical marines uh one squad has a combius sergeant with the kami melta there's a melt-a-gun and a missile launcher i'm actually going to combat squad that one and i'll show you what that looks like afterwards and then the one to the right of that is going to have a combi plasma a plasma gun and a plasma cannon they'll be riding in a drop pod and they're going to be coming in through drop pod assault throughout this game probably on turn two but maybe turn one i had a few points left over after i added all the stuff i wanted to add and i really do enjoy assault marines not a lot of our armies have assault marines and i like to include them whenever i can so if i'm playing space balls i like sky claws in this case ultramarines with assault marines and we're going to have an eviscerator in each squad and then i just had the points and the models so one of the sergeants is going to have a power axe as well and on to the heavier stuff we do have a venerable dreadnought with a dreadnought close combat weapon storm bolter and a plasma cannon we have a unit of three centurion devastators they all have their grav and hurricane bothers we have five hell blasters with the rapid fire plasma incinerator and lastly because these guys are much better now in ninth edition i wanted to include a couple of storm talents these are the air-to-ground flyers for space marines they get plus one to hit anything without the fly keyword because the strafing run now their loadout is what you see is what you get we have two twin we have twin assault cannon and two last cannons though i would probably recommend heavy bolters instead of the last cannons if you can it's a lot cheaper and that is it for my ultramarines in this game very excited to run it always a pleasure to get to run them and i would love to run one day in the future a list being led by gilman now taking a look at the 1750 points of world eaters led by karn the betrayer i like fielding world leaders it's one of my favorites that amongst black legion and alpha legion and heck pretty much most things chaos but for some reason the world eaters just speaks to me i love how they're close combat oriented and they're rewarded for their prowess on the battlefield in hand-to-hand fighting uh this my warlord is karen the betrayer the second hq choice this is a battalion by the way the second hq choice is lord discordant i've chosen to give him an artifact of the world eaters the blood hunger which states that in the fight phase if i kill an enemy model at least one then on a four plus i regain up to one loss wound so that kind of helps a little bit that with his infernal regeneration then i can kind of regain more wounds so he's a little bit tougher to kill that's the only one that he could take because he doesn't have other weapons that would be the prerequisite for the artifact nor is he infantry so that's the only one that actually works on him for my troops there's three squads of corn berserkers each unit is equipped the exact same with chain axe power with the chain axe chain sword and a power fist on the champions each champion is a par fist and there's also an icon of wrath on each one which allows them to re-roll their charge rolls should they choose there's five units of them i also have two rhinos here so i'll be putting two of the units into one of the rhinos and i'll be putting five plus carn and one of the other in the other rhino just so that they can have some mobility of the battlefield now let's talk about some of the fun stuff that we're bringing some of the demon engines in addition to the lord discordant which boosts the other demon engines i have two defilers uh deffy here he's got a power scourge a reaper auto cannon and a combi flamer the defiler behind him has the exact same loadout with exception of the combi flamer he doesn't have a combi flamer but he has all of the rest moller fiend equipped with lasher tendrils ready for close combat i will note that my lord discordant has a bale flamer which i paid the points for and then i have a couple flyers of two hell drakes both of which have bail flamers because i want to see some fire on the battlefield and they're not too too bad in close combat either i mean they're not the best but they're not the worst and so they can hold their own in a fight against something and then in addition to this i got my bikers i'm separating them so that there are three squads of three they will help me get objectives and have some speed and distance at the battlefield and they might get shot off or they might not we'll see it's experimental and that's my 1750 point list of world eaters eternal war strike force scorched earth mission the primary objectives include take and hold which are progressive at the end of each player's command phase the player whose turn it is scores five victory points for each of the following conditions they satisfy for a maximum of 15 victory points they control one or more objective markers they control two or more objective markers they control more objective markers than their opponent controls this primary objective cannot be scored in the first battle round secondary objectives in this mission when the players are selecting their secondary objectives they can if they wish choose for one of them to be raised raise which is an end game objective says at the end of the battle a player scores five victory points if one objective marker was removed from the battlefield due to a successful raise objection action performed by a unit from their army during the battle and 15 victory points if two objective markers were so removed just everybody knows there's another game in the mini we're going to be vault right now where i try close combat black templars against josh and kind of a combat based ad mech army that's gonna be in the vault right now uploaded freezer watch no robots no robots it's true like to take this opportunity to thank the following terrain companies for all of these wonderful pieces we're using in this battle we've got gamemat.eu and we have urban mats we have table war for the battle mat itself and then we have tnt laserworks for our objective markers thank you guys for secondaries what do we got i'm gonna go engage in all fronts because i got a couple flyers i should be easy-ish in the first couple turns in the game i'm gonna go with raise as well which is the built-in secondary objective into the game i have a lot of things that will be deep striking or at least coming from reinforcements and lastly the oh i got it right here you know what i don't have to think about it too hard uh bring it down because dave has so many vehicles slash monsters indeed attempt to go for that and i forgot to say that my assault marines are also going to be hiding up in the sky when i talked about my army ah for my secondaries i chose raised which is the one that the mission gives you i also chose while we stand we fight which means i got to choose three of my highest point-costed models and if they are alive at the end of the game i get five victory points per model that's alive and for this one it's got to be my lord discordant and i'm choosing my two defilers they're tied in terms of how much they cost for with my helldrakes but i'm just simply choosing my defilers and then the last one is line breaker because i want to try to get behind enemy lines being fully within lucas deployment zone having at least two models or two units rather to get my four victory points per turn i i haven't been able to quite get that to my satisfaction and i'm i'm thinking that this is the game where i do that rolling to see who's going to be attacking defender it's sammy okay you got a six what are you gonna do i'll be the defender currently as of right now defender is the much better oh not in all cases but typically want to be the defender because i'm just gonna be a lazy war gamer pick this up that's fine by me rolling to say who's going to go first i got two two one over okay kind of game it's gonna be six and a four oh boy ah do i go for i think i do go first because i'm nasty and i'm ultramarine i got some things in range to shoot and i can reposition guys now and be a little bit safer so i think i will take the first turn as ultramarines okay [Music] technically still have the role for litany's in the beginning even though the chaplain in the indominus pamphlet is in the command phase ah that's catechism of fire by the way so on a three up these guys here are gonna get plus one to wound the nearest visible target they shoot at all right we're gonna start the movement phase off because that's all i've got to do my command phase i get my command point as well i go up to 13. we are not going to turn we're just going to fly straight forward with him the minimum 20 well we could go further i guess here we're 21. i like where you are welcome to my house yeah it's not well i mean it's all right-ish the centurions are gonna move next we are going to move not into the crater because i don't want the rest of them to get negative one to their move because that's just not nice i see so they're gonna move because they don't move very far to be no they that is like their move that was that that was their four inch move right there for the rest of the movement we are gonna have these boys tuck into the obstacle they do have their not melta but yeah they do have melted they're gonna have their melted common mouth we're gonna keep that one guy in range of the objective and then the rest we're not gonna worry too too too much about then we're gonna be cool and calm remove the chaplain up we're gonna move the captain up we're gonna be patient with him the lieutenant is also going to move up why do you call him a lieutenant i just like the british or the canadian way of doing it yeah i don't know just kind of so i i could call it lieutenant i guess i'm trying to be weird on purpose you know it's funny because when you call you my lieutenant on the right hand side oh yeah yeah so he's gonna go there he's gonna just stand still and give out his aura for now until things make themselves more apparent and then these intercessors well they don't have a heck of a lot to do right now so they're going to mosey on out they're going to poke their heads out this is going to be counted as a big crater yeah we're playing this as a crater a still area terrain not an obstacle everything else is what you would assume well we didn't we also said that these tower like structures are they're going to be dense yeah so you get like you got a negative one to hit uh if shooting through it that's pretty much it everything else is pretty self-explanatory being obstacles that are solid they block line of sights uh they'll albeit everything else is an obstacle so you'll get cover if you're behind it you know if it makes sense yes quite the final thing i'm gonna move is this storm talon this minimum move is going to take him to the top of that i don't like balancing models on top of that but i also don't want to fly him in any direction other than this direction for right now under the shooting phase we're going to go wisdom of the ancients on this venerable dreadnought he has a six-inch aura of re-rolling hit rolls of one that's only going to affect him and the hell blasters beside him because of my would trade i get it back on a five i don't start with the venerable dreadnought in his heavy plasma cannon i'm gonna we're firing into the defiler over here ah yeah i know i know i know d3 shots it's pretty much a plasma cannon but it doesn't automatically blow me up when i shoot it on once i hit on twos because he's venerable and we're strength eight so we moved on threes oh two good hits that's bad so for dense terrain i ignore this one because i'm within three inches of it though i do not ignore that one so i am drawing a line to some parts of the model there technically that two becomes a one which i can't reroll becomes a moral wound i'm gonna command point re-roll that one i believe just because i want damage on this guy two becomes a two on a five if i get it back i do not so cost me a command point and he will take a mortal wound but he is venerable on a six he ignores it he does not okay so he's down to seven okay i can just five up involved for the for the filer and i make it you are a-okay nice i will supercharge all of the hell blasters into them now none of these are going to be going through this because uh they can just they should be okay actually no this guy over here i think i'll probably have to do him separate so i won't supercharge his gun but i'll supercharge the other four doing the sergeant separate because of the negative one to hit so he does hit and four shots with the other ones they hit on threes there you go i gotta do these separate though because these are two damage threes to wound two wounds and then yikes and one wound up one damage and then two at two these are for the two at two damage five up say one so one goes through and then here's the one at one damage five oh nope so total of three three the stormtown's gonna go next he's gonna put the two laz cannons into the defiler and then we're gonna put the really yeah yeah we're gonna go for the defiler because i want to because they can heal i'd rather just focus them down they can all heal though i know but i want to make sure like i put as much damage into one as opposed like two there two there too there there's negated i see what you're saying so the twin lasts into him and then the twin assault cannon i kind of want to put into him too but we're gonna put that into the bikes are you sure insurance policy man i know i know i'm not going to be killing this defiler i just want to do some damage to him i'm going to worry about that defiler over there a little bit more i think he thinks or that or the rhino one of the two one of the two the two lads hitting on twos because he's on the ground we ignore moving and firing heavy now and these are threes to wound ap is four but not that that matters five up let's see what we got saved one one goes uh goes through it's d6 damage these hold on one second how do you think about the reroll this is probably the only thing i'm shooting at well i got a missile launcher as well that's only d3 that's d6 why are you with d6 damage my missile launchers are always d6 damage no they're not name one missile launcher that's not all well there's some there's some weapons that aren't this is all crack missiles are d6 damage there we go my correction there i could be wrong on the missiles because it's probably missiles that do d3 damage but crack missiles do d6 i'll prove it unfortunately your missile launcher is better better than my battle cannon which kind of doesn't make sense i only got one shot you have d6 i guess that's fair your damage potential is higher than mine i mean you're not wrong than what you're saying so i'm trying to distract you and maybe make you forget to roll the dice but you're not going to reroll your save no five oh that's a good roll yeah looks like it's gonna happen so i'm down to six sorry down to six why defy man i don't know not the other guy because he's next what do you mean these tacticals the ones that combat squad are going to let loose a crack missile at the defiler the bolt guns are in range okay one shot on a three wounding on a three oh it's a woman minus three ap because of the devastator doctrine i'm just a big sweaty nerd with heavy weapons five up involved oh saved it you are a-okay there's actually i think three or four of those that i saved now yeah you did pretty good on you you're pretty good i was involved like even if i did damage it was going to be five oh wow thanks yeah it was good that you saved yeah very good thing i should probably resolve the assault cannons i said i was gonna fire at the uh bikers over here yeah but unfortunately because i forgot these are probably gonna win they hit on two so that's exactly average okay i get plus one to hit things that don't fly and i win on threes because the strength six okay that did pretty good that's not bad these are ap2 because of the devastator doctrine five up from my bikers goodbye bikers we actually didn't die oh one is one one's got one wound one's got one nice so i will keep my champion in the middle these intercessors are up next they move they don't get to rapid fire these three are gonna put three shots into the defiler and then this one guy here is just gonna shoot at the rhino because ranger line of sight we'll do him first he is going to miss and then the three shots into the defiler with their bolt rifles we have we have to reroll the one because the captain's within range two hits and then these moon on fives one maybe one okay and it goes through one whole dimage centurions okay these guys could do it we're gonna fire everything into the defiler because he's the closest and we have catechism of fire on them we are gonna spend one command point on gravitic amplification it makes their grav cannons and grav amps a little bit better it makes it so i get to reroll the wound roll and reroll the amount of damage they deal dang that's a lot man it's a lot and we're gonna see if i get it back on a five up add up to the codex ultra means is the best no never mind ultramarines is the best 12 shots with the grab on threes rerolling the ones because the captain's right beside him doesn't help ouch okay well that feels like it's statistical that's pretty close to average yeah yeah and then these wound on fours right now because of catechism of fire re-rolling for grow good thing it's re-rolling because i failed five you get three of these you're right yeah look at that let's go d here we go five up demon saves c-man two so five go through and you can re-roll your d3 damage here i can so it's going to be i'm gonna keep all of those except that one get one more damage so it's two four six nine twelve damage i'm down to one oh no wow that's incredible whoo space marines and these are the hurricane bolters the centurions so they rapid fire no matter what wow they hit on threes beautiful oh my goodness because the catechism of fire wounding on fours uh rerolling ones for i'll say it the left tenant a couple more wounds 17 wounds i got 10 dice here if i fail one of them then i'm dead three up why fail four oh wait does he explode does he explode nope no he does not but that's one headache gone it is isn't it well i've got this storm talent over here to fire with i kind of want to get one of those i can't kill the rhinos i could if i get lucky okay i think i want to try and get one of the rhinos to alleviate the corn berserker pressure on me you should totally do that as opposed to shooting at like a hell drake or the bikes yes or something i could also put the last cannons down the table at the other defiler how many does he have left he's got 12. mine is six he's got six ish yeah he's got exactly six left so you'll probably finish them off you can you're really hot with your rolls right now you should just do it as a friend i'm encouraging you to finish off the other device as opposed to the hot rolls into a chaos rhino to open it up no don't kill them no no please okay you know what a part of me man i i hate shooting i do but you're so good at it it's this is why i play space wolves because you know they sure they have long fangs they can have aggressors sure but typically they want to get a little more personal with their opponents yes i prefer that i hate it when you i i don't mind shooting when it's average whatever it's pretty okay does like two damage there three damage there i hate it when it's hot and right now it's kind of hot and i just i i every part of me tells me to shoot at the filer and i don't want to because i know it's gonna die do you know it's gonna die i have this deep feeling inside that's gonna die if i shoot at it and i don't want to kill it but now now you're telling with the dice god you're telling what to do i don't know if they like being told you know what i i dictate what they do today do you all right two last candies into him and then assault cannons into the closest bikes and they're the closest bikes okay nothing into the rhino cannon soul cannon two's to hit no re-rolling average he's tuned at an ap of two now that's actually pretty close similar to what i did last time in fact it's actually one more eight eight minus two because of devastator doctrine so i'm looking for a five up on these bikes do they die one they do not die completely but you do kill two of them okay so same case i'm assuming it's the closer bikes yes it was that yeah so champion's still alive morale phase no leadership tests needed because i'm exactly six on my leadership i'm doing super cool ultramarine stuff where i don't leave my deployment zone and shoot guns a lot who would have thought who would have thought that's what they do and that's what they're good at the salt marines coming up though later probably turn three maybe i think uh but for scoring at the end of my turn you don't get the primary in the first turn and you can't there's no point in raising this early on i do gain three victory points though because i have a unit in all four table quarters i got in uh stormtown stormtown whatever it is over here and whatever over here so that's three victory points and that's that's it for now so you get three that was pretty good it's a good start i think you didn't get first strike huh didn't choose i didn't i didn't take first strike no i mean i could have probably had but i mean first strike's only worth eight victory points what do you mean only eight well it's not that's a lot i would have only in this case would have only got five it's eight if you kill more than me so how do you know that's true that's true i guess if you don't kill anything but i would have felt a little more confident game do people take first strike you know what that's what's set gone i don't know it's weird with the secondaries no one really knows what to take yet at least here everyone's kind of like i'll take this i'll try this or like engage on all fronts typically works for me or i got a couple flyers but i should be a good one should be should be beginning of world leaders turn one first things first deffi will regain a wound he lives but you do deny me uh where we stand we fight uh because of this guy i will get five last victory points automatically at the end of the game right this defiler is now dead another reason why i was shooting at the defilers too while i could if possible you know to try and deny points definitely you know it's interesting because had i chose one of my heldricks because i could have because there were times right yeah there was titan points i wonder if you would have you would have yeah it makes sense depending on which one yeah try and get like the hell drinks are not a bad choice either or uh right away because they are an immediate threat but the defilers have griefed me in the past and i'd rather just be gone be done with them yeah okay well let's see what i'm gonna do on this side mr helldrake is uh gonna seek some vengeance on the defiler right beside him that was killed i'm within three of the objective and i'm outside of andersonview so i'm just going to show you yeah yeah he's balancing there this rhino is going to move up this is all pre-measured off-camera i'm going to go there not any further because if i do then i'll be slow down by that crater and then i'll advance him as well so whatever i roll is my extra movement because i only move ten the second he touches it it's kind of moved but the advance will help i think it's going extra four extra four yeah because i already didn't move the extra two yeah so end up about there second thought i'm going to back up an inch so that i'm within range of this objective that's my final position for that rhino this lone biker i will move forward and turbo boost him durable boost advancing him this is all pre-measured so he's able to go there no problem and gotta remember guys you can actually like last edition after the faq you can drive through flyer bases that's right or move through them don't land you can't land you can't end your position on them yeah around them then these bikes will move here which i think i need to stay there in fact they'll go like that so that uh your deep strike is a little bit harder my hell drake on this side will move forward i'm gonna move from there then i'll let luca finish the movement he's gonna end up around here-ish mr muller fiend will move up here move forward lord discordant moving up right there he's within range to hold this objective he's also within range to shoot your hell blasters with his bail flame or should he choose and then i'll move my defiler up ever so slightly so that he's within range of the lord discordant so when shoots his weapons he gets plus one to hit this biker i'll move back actually i might as well go in the crater not that he benefits from that cover but bikers it just looks cool so that that's why i'm doing it hey well let's put it this way that means his next move he automatically gets minus two to his move so let's not end there it's actually just a negative thing yeah let's not end there at all there's no benefit there's literally no benefit to doing that jeez this rhino i will advance up four okay going through that terrain so i essentially move 14. so i'm gonna go here that's within my 14 and i'm gonna pop smoke with both rhinos oh yeah no doubt shooting phase starting with a defiler shooting at your hell blasters i think i'm gonna transhuman the hell blasters okay for two command points if you get it back yes i'm gonna see i've predictable both i can't remember it's been a while since i used this foiler trade if you roll one d6 for every command point on a span back i can only ever get one back so it costs me still two how many shots do i get with my battle cannon is it gonna be lots four okay okay decent am bracketed unfortunately but i am near my lord discordant so i'm hitting you on fours back to fours getting just one wouldn't you on fours because you transhumaned them that's nothing it would have been nothing wouldn't matter anyways yep reaper autocannon four shots hitting on fours getting two hits and wounding on fours again getting two wounds oh just remembered you're behind dense cover that's minus one hit so i only actually got one hit there huh so i guess it'd be one wound was it one wound yeah yeah yeah so i just double checked the clip i did roll a five and a four on the hit so i only got one in a plus i rolled two four pluses on the wounds so that's one wound save i do get it because i have cover so just the ap1 ignores the light cover that this provides yeah this lord discordant down there will bale flame those dudes down below as well how many bell flame hits do they get three okay okay auto hitting yeah uh we need them fours because a transhuman does it help uh two wounds it does help it help the wee bit minus two minus two so it's minus one i fail one make one so one dies it's just flat two right yeah i will do this hell drake right there yeah same thing so bell flamer two uh auto hitting and booney gone fours one wound one wounding hit are you determining if they get covered uh it's because of the new cover system weird cause the hell drake's weird is a weird position i'm trying to remember like it's it's one point of your base to every point on my base and i think you're good because this does kind of ink over yeah no cover no cover ah oh it's minus two minus two if i fail yeah i need a five that's a dead guy over on this side we got three bikers gonna shoot at your storm talon that's minus one because you're a flyer cause i'm fast so hitting you on fours with all my bolters bullets okay that's decent only would have been one three anyway wounding on fives getting five oh okay that's surprising three up save we take two damage bring them down to eight nice now for this hell drake shooting your centurions yeah i'm gonna dive in forge spend a command point for that we roll in the mood yeah it's important they're four wounds a piece aren't they so you have to get two to go through yeah yeah so how many bale flamers do i get 60 that's where uh that's what your reroll was gonna be waiting for ya yeah oh yes and here's the thing um i'm wounding you on three what's your toughness five yeah yeah i am winning at three so this is good and you already transhumaned yourself i did yeah cause i figured more shots are gonna go their way i can't remember how many threes you rolled but no it was a good choice yeah for sure so here we go putting on threes re-rolling so two re-rolls that statistical so far so one more re-roll those hits that i missed so one and then wounding you that wounds so technically i should have actually separated those roles because one was for the death to the false emperor and one was not which is this objective over here i have two assault marines nearby and the muller fiend is not able to take that from me but you know dave does control the other four so but that's it i get my command point i'm back up to one still reeling from my dreadnought mistake but whatever i'm fine it's a you know what even if i did pop i can't uh what is it dude eternal i'm just gonna assume he was gonna die anyways yeah now on to actual moment these these talons are gonna have to carry again as they have been for the rest of the game this storm talon is because of math and angles we already know he's going to end up right here where the the other one started who just took a very similar path and then this one is going to have to fly further because we can't land on the hell drake he's going to turn this way and fly here oh end up in the same corner yep but so the only reason that happened is because this guy had to take two extra long jumps and this one took the regular amount of jumps so he makes sense he ends up here this guy had to move a little bit faster further these tacticals are going to go ahead and move they're going to go up to the corner here you're going to move up and around this way now and you're going to go there to get a troop choice on the objective and we're also going to try and stay out of heroic intervention range but i think you can hero cleaner being up this way anyway so you know what let's keep you back there and you're gonna stay out of hero convention range but stay with him the next move will be these assault marines and we are in the assault doctrine now they're gonna do a 12-inch move jumping over here we're gonna try and take care of this bike while making this objective our very own nope now these tactical marines being all terrains are gonna fall back from combat disengage and just still shoot their guns at a negative one to hit now we're not in the tactical doctrine anymore and we're only moving four because of the terrain but we're gonna go claim some cover now uh now because we're not in the tactical doctrine anymore i do suffer the penalty for moving and firing heavy weapons but i'm disengaging from combat so i already have negative one data from that exactly we are going to i kind of want to get them yeah we're going to jump we're going to move you know what i just realized that guy's out of coherency technically has to go there to be coherent i think these guys are going to move we're actually going to jump the back guy within 12 and then we're going to do a daisy a weird daisy chain because i want my power weapons closer up in this direction in case just in case i need them to charge this guy it's now time to shoot guns we are going to try and take out this smaller fiend we have a storm threes and then fives to wound no ap anymore one wound three up yep good start saved what else you got uh we're gonna go with the pla we'll start with the plasma we're gonna supercharge them but we're gonna spend everything we'll fire into them we're gonna spend a command point on our last our only command point on sons of gilman so they get to reroll hit rolls okay we'll start with is the plasma cannon's got three shots not bad hits on fours but gets hots on ones and two one there oh okay ooh i'm just reroll i don't care if you guys oh he dies so he dies but he gets a hit which oh it doesn't wound up you know what that he get he toyed with his plasma cannon too much and then the combi plasma is gonna supercharge as well we're gonna fire both the bolt apart as well because we can only get negative one to hit the plasma first geez wow oh he's dead but he gets a hit does he wound he does strengthen yeah as a dead sergeant though five up there's that demon safe yep wow that's actually huge for me all the bulk guns including the sergeants on fours we rolling for sons of gilman helps a little bit there and then there's one on fives no ap hey but we got three wounds three up save here we can i do one one okay i think he's down to four they're gonna go ahead and fire both well we're gonna throw a crack grenade and then we're gonna have four bolt piss well he's gonna throw the crack on me because he's got the eviscerator and then four bowl pistols except his bolt pistol is gonna be negative one to hit in fact i think both of those are so i'll do both of them and negative one to hit and then those two be normal so the fours to hit we have two hits and then the two on threes they all hit of course and then they wound on fives with ap now because it's the assault doctrine one one yep one damage down to three wow got another bull pistol all that and then one bull pistol crack grenade yep these tactical marines are gonna go ahead and fire we're gonna fire the bolt guns into the lord discordant i suppose and the crack missiles actually one of the hell drake because i can't see the lord discordant with that true hitting on a four with the crack missile at the three that's a miss yeah cause he moved yeah and then the bolt guns hitting on threes three hits and fives two wounds two wounds all right here we go nothing nice all right so that and we're gonna fire all of their bull pistols we're gonna throw a crack grenade from the sergeant and four bull pistols into that bike scratch that i mean three bolt pistols and a crack grenade because you're a mister raider yeah three bull pistols far away all hit flies to wound at ap1 oh he let's go out this way yeah i'm gonna just have to let him die i mean you hold this anyway that's really the most important thing yeah and the last thing i have to fire are these storm talons and i have to kill both of these well i don't have to kill them this term but i would love to kill both of these models now specifically the maybe the lord discord i don't even know like he's super annoying he's hard he's annoying he is he's been annoying this whole time so i'm gonna start with the killing of the hell drake they both give me the same amount of points if i kill them because of bringing it down the lord discord we're gonna we're gonna start shooting at the lord discordant with this storm talon everything into him okay i'm gonna do the last cannons first on twos because he's on the ground and threes to wound that's double fail wow and then it's all cannon on twos because he's on the ground no re-rolling that's that's a real bad roll yeah this is not going great guys forest to wound okay not bad it's five wounds ap1 you know what to do a quick correction here we'll say it was this one firing because this one would have actually had a negative one to hit the lord discordant because i can't draw a line to every part of his base without going over this structure yeah okay i'm cool with that because you're gonna fire them both out of them i'm gonna fire wow probably probably depending on what one does yeah exactly three up save and he takes three oh wow who's left that's too much right well that means this one's gonna fire and if i want to fire at him i'm hitting on threes and if i want to fire the hell drake i'm hitting on threes i would like to kill one of them let's do let's just do the same thing everything the lord discord and try and get him out of here yep that makes more sense he's actually a bigger threat let's do the two last cannons we have one miss now because of the uh dense terrain and then when we're on a three we do wound uh five demon safe up he actually failed that's like the first fail on the last cannon i think i could reroll that you could okay luke i'm spending my command point on it let's see if i can make the save if you do have oh wow i honestly just expected you to make it i'm actually i did i'm just all right d6 damage he's dead he is dead does he explode he does not explode oh you're just okay he just goes down peacefully then yeah and then uh so i just remembered he's got a spirit thief rule where if models that are within six inches of him except for minus one which would have been him when he fired but you just rolled a five on your damage for your last cannon which is what he had which he had five wounds left so he would have died anyway so i just wanted to acknowledge that right uh so he's dead so let's remove him they both would have had the minus one to hit he is still dead and then the rest of the assault cannons just kind of shoot into his corpse yeah charge face yeah i'm gonna charge these assault marines into this uh this molar fiend here okay i don't think he's got well you can't overwatch anyways i suppose the charge eight corn wants it i'm gonna commit to that charge with everything i can you should and that's where they end up after charging and that is that's well you know what i have to help out i i forgot to fire my hell blaster he's one lone guy just kind of out in the middle of nowhere go ahead go ahead yeah i'll just go ahead and do that now he's going to rap he's obviously going to rapid fire into the drake there you know what i'll supercharge her too because i don't care anymore supercharged he's fine look at that and one wound on heldrick obviously yeah five up involved and just two damage he's still alive with one left with one wound and then resolve this fight because that's my only charge i've got four i've got two attacks i got three attacks with my ultramarine sergeant with this power axe there because of shock assault i hit on threes i have a hit that's great i have a hit that's all right i move on fives nope all right let's do all this straighter yes yeah i'll do we'll keep that one for last because that one's gonna make me the saddest i think yeah he's gonna do all the chains you're already assuming he's gonna fail it's a weird power fist and it's on a two attack guy because he charged it doesn't make me feel great the rest of the assault marines though they have three attacks a piece threes to hit excellent roll wow x supplies to window strength four that's going to be four ap one because of the assault doctrine that's too many four up saves four saves he takes two that's average he's got one one here's your eviscerator he has a whole two attacks with the eviscerator because he charged it's negative one to hit so fours okay it's average can't complain about that uh strength eight so threes that wounds it goes to your demon save is minus four okay the whole game i know it's always been always been do you and save what do you think it's gonna happen don't care either way i'm just so past it i love what you say okay here it is here it is that oh i got him i'm not even happy i just don't care whatever got him there's my there's my there's my victory you don't even care about your victory don't even care all right so i can see if it explodes yeah this one i care about all close dang you know that was actually a big deal that was yeah yeah that was good that helps that yeah that leaves me kind of safe-ish and then they're gonna consolidate towards the nearest enemy which is the rhino okay and at the end of my turn here i do get engaged on all fronts but not to the full effect i only get two points for it so i'm not gonna be getting max points this game i have this table quarter and those two there this one i had to abandon because i got no control over the flyers oh i have some control but not as much as i like yeah okay beginning of world leaders turn four i get 10 victory points for holding two of these objectives and i also gain a command point i think my plan is pretty straightforward i'm going to try to deny lucas some points here when i say deny points i don't mean holding objectives i mean raising objectives stopping me from raising for him to raise he has to start his turn on it and have no enemy units within three of it yeah it is incredibly hard to raise reading the rules maybe a little bit more thoroughly maybe another secondary a little bit better to pick here because these rhinos can stop my guys from raising 100 they can now over here this is more of a risk for me because you have your power you have your eviscerated plus your i don't know if i'll do 10 i'm not going to do 10 damage i don't think you'll do 10 damage because the rhino has to charge to stop me from raising it so let's go ahead and just move him up yeah outside of an inch over here i'll move over as well not gonna worry even if it's negative two he's got more than enough movement to get there so he'll and there let's make it face the right way just because of better thematic purposes he doesn't even have to charge so to stop raising you just have to be within range of it that's true i could like see my tacticals in the back or within range to raise the objective but because that ryan was going to charge my assault marines and i couldn't consolidate any further than that if i had half an inch more i could have stopped it but unfortunately i didn't yeah we pre-measured it and because of the way objectives work now it's from the edge not the center yeah and these are 40 ml objectives yeah those are like the proper recommended size or over here on this side i'm going to run this unit of berserkers closer to this objective needing a two we actually pre-measured it we needed a two i think yeah exactly a two at least a two it's at least the two so they're just all they have to do is just get like get to there coming over to this side i'm gonna move my hell drake closer i only moved 10 but that's still 10 that i move my goal with him is to bail flame your primaries hell blaster down below and charge into combat against your tacticals and kill them so i'm actually going to go a little closer yeah you want to the full not you're available tucked in a little bit more you're not able to easily assess the car yeah there's two units still within the deployment zone because it's half of the objective yeah shooting phase let's just do something here we got the commonwealth and the rhino all hits oh wow and wounding you on fours one wound that's a three up that's a okay marine over here on this side same thing i'll hit four hits and a wound okay that's actually kind of weird oh wait we're okay there you go bail flaming now this hell blaster how many uh hits do i get against them three okay and threes wounding on threes two two minus two minus two i think he's got cover there because of the other side but he fails anyways doesn't matter he's dead all right that's the first half of the puzzle charging this rhino in do you want to overwhelm i don't have any command points then i'll just i'll just move him in moving on in there he's now within three of the objective and then over here uh you don't have any command points can overwatch and i'll just uh roll to charge as a formality accord wants it then i will charge your tacticals with my hell drake yeah the trick is he wants to oh the objective's right there doesn't matter there you go he just goes there he wants to be within three of the objective and make sure you kill all them off yes now for the uh assault phase let's do demon forge for foreign forged my one command point this is like a winner this is a winning game move if you pull this off you win if i pull it off not only do you not get your victory points for that but i can also raise it and that's the huge that's that's the thing that's the big deal there because i think you're gonna be able to raise one whereas i'm probably not going to be able to raise any of them but only raising one might still i have no idea because right now we're tied what are we both at 47 points right now like as of right now we're both at the end of your turn we'll both be at 47 points that's right because i'll get line breaker and and uh yeah that's why so here we go hitting on fives because i'm only two wounds left all right uh demon forged i'm gonna reroll these misses yep i need them both to go you literally need all hands oh my goodness here we go uh wounding you on uh three three still yep re-rolling oh jeez i know stressful we need all these two wound and come on there it is all wounds even 42 minus one minus one so i have to fail all four of these i have to fail all these four ups i didn't okay i also only lose one marine i'll lose this tactical up here four rhino attacks hateful assault hitting on sixes getting nothing okay my turns which one you going with i'll just start with this guy here so i have to pile in to get coherent again and then i guess i'll plan a little bit over there we'll attack with both of them i get a grand total of four attacks because you charged me you know what's funny you could actually i could kill you this could start but no i don't want to die i want to raise right exactly fives to wound you're fine only one wound oh you take a damage he's got one laugh one moon left wow what a hero and then this fight over here there's no real no there's no reason to pile in so i'll just i'll start with the eviscerate it'll be a good sport here forest to hit nice they both hit i still can't kill rhino though uh wounding on threes one moon no save is minus four oh it's minus four and uh three damage nice i'm down to seven yep i got three attacks with the power axe one hit five two wound nope and then i have nine attacks with chainswords i mean i guess i could technically kill him here still could technically kill him here five to wound now i cannot kill him there we go minus one ap because of assault doctrine one damage yep down to six and then that is no morale that's the end of the turn end of the turn karen plus my berserkers are behind enemy lines therefore i get four another four victory points yeah tying us 47 each yeah going into your turn last year i gotta see if i try and get as much points as i can and uh deny you as much as i can and that's pretty much it i get my command point i get one i can't imagine what i'm going to use it on though oh i maybe maybe that missile launch i get to actually use the ultramarine strategy i'll explain that later if it comes up now i at the end of my command phase because nothing else is happening i do have three i got one over here one over there and i do have a troops on this objective so that is mine that's gonna be ten points because i have two and then an extra five because dave has only two yeah these two over here and that was actually that made it even more of a big deal the fact that you survived that right that like i said that was like if you if you pull that off i think that was your game yeah handily but that was that would have been that was hard to pull off though yeah uh you got lucky rolls on your saves i did i did uh on to actual movement phase at the beginning of my movement phase this is when i would declare raising but i can't because you have a model within three inches of both the objectives you were able to save with the rhinos always save the day always so for actual movement the only thing i really care about is i need to have things in all four table quarters so i think i'm gonna be able to pull that off with this flyer going this direction and landing around here because that'll be this table quarter so he's going to land about there and this one's going to have to fly off in that direction and do pretty much maybe should have held drake because these guys are going to be outlines oh no he actually might feel shoot at them over there so this is one that matters this one i don't care about we're just going to pick it up and carefully oh jeez as it falls apart on me essentially turns this direction and flies over here and just gets in this table quarter my goal this turn for anyone watching or who is curious on what my goal is i need to kill these berserkers off and kind of the hell drake if you do you deny me five points right because that'll leave you just on the one objective here yeah and i think if these stormtowns are gonna i think these guys are my mvps oh yeah well without a doubt yeah they've consistently done damage throughout the entire game yeah so 20 and then picking you up flying you towards this objective not that i can hold objectives with a flyer but just to land there we are going to fall back from combat here oh if i do that i'm going to be giving up oh it doesn't matter if i have the subject or not anymore i don't think uh it kind of does oh you already hold too yeah i'm gonna yeah they're gonna fall back because of where the hell drake is you're gonna pick you up and you're gonna end up going around here i guess you know these assault marines are going to be falling back from combat they're going to jump over here towards this objective underneath the plane because i have my troops on objective number four already so i'll just give me one extra objective my mom for later these assault marines are going to move a little bit because i do have to shoot that held drake and i want to make sure i'm arranged to do so from talon firing everything at those corn berserkers we'll start with the assault cannons on twos because they're on the ground i got strafing run no re-rolling on threes and threes to wound ap of one so we have seven four up saves i will go to ground and get plus one on my cover wait that's a different addition i wish i missed i got him death wow that's fine it's all cannon gets the last cannon just into the ground geez i didn't yeah i was lucky i didn't have a hole i had four last cannons that were coming at them but i mean i guess the last games could have probably done a lot of work too so these ultramarines are gonna fire next into the hell drake we're actually gonna spend uh an ultramarine stratagem one shot when i go to roll it instead of rolling it automatically hits for one cp ah the first time it's ever come up i actually you know what i never thought this would be good i feel martial precision use the strategy before resolving attack made by an ultra means model from your army and shooting phase when resolving that attack do not make a hit roll it automatically scores a hit that's pretty nice that's very convenient for right now it is isn't it but it has to wound it does have to win it does wound sorry there we go minus two five up i guess yeah now how many moons do i have left one i only have one left you have one left so it all comes down to a demon save because i think you moved off that objective i did i just i can actually raise it if you don't kill me it's true i have to oh that's true yeah i fully planned on trying to kill him and now grant i do have the storm talent over here still and some i should be able to do one damage to the sky all right i was hoping to do with the epic precision here it is five up oh the ultra reef stratagem got him now do you blow up nope nope all right that kills him oof that was a little game that was actually super gambling on my energies now the storm talent here everything into the rhino because the last cannons one hit one miss and one wound minus three six nope d6 damage he's got two wounds left can you take him out can i take him with the assault cannons i think you'll be able to twos oh yeah look at that they all hit i think the strafing run on i think the strafing run on them is a little too good now that they ignore moving firing heavy two wounds minus one i have two wounds left luca i know i you know what for like ocd sake i kind of want me to fail here i want myself to fail because it's perfect ah he's got one wound yeah all right well dang dang it four oh man i gotta do these separate okay well on to this his they're all gonna fire over at the rhino one crack grenade this bull pistol is actually negative one to hit because he's not within three of the terrain whereas the other ones are so they don't suffer the negative one to hit so one bull pistol on a four okay he misses let's do the crack grenade i don't supposed to do the rest of the bull pistols but that's what i get for cheating i miss and then pull pistols we got one hit no wound all right cracker made in six bolt gun shots here's the bolt guns on threes one miss and fives to wound no ap nothing crack grenade that's a four and then five wound he lives with one wound i'm not gonna bother charging him hey you might i could kill i mean i could kill him if i charge him but i don't think i need to and then i got like some shots over there you know what all right i'll charge them fine i'm not i'm not gonna minus two to my charge i roll a nine so they come on in to this chaos rhino and they throw eight dice because my sergeant killed himself a couple of turn ago you know what's going to happen you're going to kill me i'm going to blow up and kill you you're not going to kill me by blowing up but you might hurt me a lot now you're telling what the dice gods do threes uh pretty bad roll five you only need one vice to wound oh this is it this is it right here got him just do i blow up does he explode oh he does all right so it's hitting his kills three of them oh my goodness i got one guy left wow and then i think it actually hurts them it hit it sticks in front oh yeah so it hits both of those that's totally true so here we go is that the y or that which is one of them all right yeah and gets a flyer too yeah flyer as well gets clipped for two also down there so they're both down to 8 wounds now you could possibly run away here they're ultra rings they're leadership uh eight now oh i could run away over there okay well there we go let's roll it yikes on a sticks i run but i get to re-roll it because they shall know no fear huh uh-huh there it is okay are you gonna roll it again so i said i scrolled a nine i just rolled a nine that's it that's hilarious that is absolutely hilarious i love it i love it it was totally worth it huh it was totally worth it huh i just lost all of them i don't know does that matter does it matter i don't even know let's calculate it let's calculate it okay so we've calculated the points and i'm actually going to forego my last turn because uh i am going to raise that for five points i will say that i'll get four points for another line breaker and plus the five points for holding the objective at the beginning right so with that that brings me to 60 victory points to lucas 64. it was that close it was that close and you know what it all came down to that yeah like it really did that was huge that was a that was a big point swing there now granted it was hard for that hell drake to pull off what he did but he got so close he got so close he got past the hard part which is hitting on fire's rerolling he hit all those i just the second hard part was me failing three four ups and you know what i have to say what i would do different is uh the one secondary that i chose uh where we stand we fight right i wouldn't have chose that again because that that's a hard one man that just puts targets on those models yeah and so those are the first first things that you killed exactly and i was i was able to deny that now granted i also had a secondary that i got which is the range it's your race you didn't get any there knowing how many units you had in hindsight knowing how the objective properly works i oh i probably would not pick that one i would have picked i probably would have picked line breaker as well yeah i think i would have been i think it would have been with my build because you know what you can't do uh you can't do your four corners uh oh it's a line breaker in that this yeah it's an okay one so you can't do them both what would i do instead then i don't know i don't know i probably have to look over the objectives again i'm not too sure reyes was too hard to pull off because you had throwaway units that there's no way i was going to kill there's no way i'm going to worry about killing rhinos i had way way bigger threats to worry about yep yeah and i i there's a few things i regret in the game too like the my captain i should have been more reserved with my captain there was no reason for him to go i should have flew him back here but whatever mistakes happened and then i spent the point on the re-roll that actually that i was kicking myself and butt real bad for that one i rerolled his saving throw for no just no reason at all when i meant to save that for the duty eternal on the the venerable dreadnought he didn't have any left i didn't have any left and that would have stopped the chain glaive from doing two damage a shot now granted i probably still would have died from the technovirus injector but it would have proved to be very durable i think yeah i think because that would have i would have only taken three damage from his glaive and i would have had two wounds left and the virus injector does like d3 motor wounds though so i don't know i don't know it's iffy but that lord discordant was awesome oh yeah 100 he did a lot of work in this game there that's an amazing model uh it's kind of one of those like you know we i i suspected that these storm talents were going to be outstanding yep and they turned out to be absolutely so there there's a reason why they're really good for there was like the iron wing which was like a back in the end of eighth edition with the iron hands where you'd bring three of them and or there's either two incept interceptors and two of these or three of these and two interceptors i can't remember the combination but that was it the list was just five flyers they used to ignore moving firing heavy weapons because they're iron hands yeah and in the devastator doctrine which you could stay active the entire game you just get to real heroes and one with heavy weapons so these guys would go around they hit everything on the ground on two's ruling ones no matter where they were that brutal it was brutal it was like you seen how effective they were without their re-rolling ones oh yeah so imagine and then they don't get bracketed either because they're iron hands so they double the amount of wounds they have when they're when they're bracketed right so they're constantly flying around the game hitting on two ruling ones and if they're fighting at another flyer and hitting on two rear ones as well they were they're awesome so even without the iron hand trait i think these things performed they're my carry for sure yeah yeah yeah i think in my army it was probably the hell drake like hell drake i can't believe they survived that long usually usually hell drake's they're a distraction they fly forward do some preliminary damage but they stayed they actually were really resilient yeah lucky with their live with their demon saves that i just got lucky there and then they prevented you from getting points uh and they they did work they kept constantly were harassed by primaris they harassed me here and there they were they were constantly a thorn in my side they they tied up my one dreadnought for i believe two or three contacts just like he finished it off too didn't he uh uh the dreadnought no it's a disco alert i think no what what finished off your dreadnought it was the school lord he charged me with the chain glue and i didn't have the duty eternal yeah that was just way too much yeah i think my biggest disappointment was bringing my muller fiend because he didn't do anything like he you know he came back here you couldn't even kill tactical monsters no yeah like you killed one or two attorneys and that's it yep and then you killed him that's it so it took me forever to kill him but i got him if i were to swap out models i think i would actually exchange the mahler fiend for another disco lord oh the two disco awards can't go wrong three disco lords man that's what you would you you like you want to run three of them typically but then that yeah but then you're just trying to skew right yeah see that to me bringing three of them would be like that's too tournament it's kind of obvious what you're trying to do right yeah that's like we typically try to i could bring like i could bring more flyers right now but that's obvious what i'm trying to do in that regard yeah so we try to avoid that typically i like i like the nice eclectic uh a bunch of models here that we have both of our armies because look the end result is a game that's super close yeah and at the end there even the last turn at the beginning of turn five we had no idea who's gonna win right yeah it really did come down to that hell drake there that was cool i really like it uh okay thank you very much guys for tuning
