okay another day salsa hello good morning another day so today i'm going to try something a little bit different uh i actually just went ahead and called the scrap yard this morning and i said hey look what do you guys pay for this what do you pay for that i've been comparing all the prices in the area i was going drive to allentown to scrap yard but i figured i think for another 10 cents more per pound on the wire i'd end up making like 15 or 20 more in the end but i have to drive all the way downtown so what i'm doing is i'm going to a different scrap yard that's local that's paying a little bit less but paying a little bit more in my scrap yard for the wire and that's what we're going to do so although my introvertness and by not wanting to experience new things is kind of going down the drain and hurting a little bit i think we'll make doing we'll see how it goes let's make it a fun one and see what happens new things new day let's get into it all right so this is what you got going on i'll talk a little bit more about the wire later i went ahead and tried a little bit it didn't go as well as i thought but all these computer towers i think i had some more wire over here there's no way i can take all the metals i'm just not taking all mill right now i'll just have to go back out i might just go to a different scrap yard for the rest of it uh let's make sure wires and nuts uh yeah it's in there it is brutally cold this morning amazing how you go from like 65 degrees to 19 degrees in a matter of a day or two all right let's get moving let's get a move on lots of treasure still here lots of treasure all right so scrap yard should be up here on the right um i haven't been to this scrap yard since last august i believe just because i did some work well don't make sure you stop there bud did some work for someone around the corner over there um and this was literally just a half a mile away but i've never taken any non-ferrous metals over here like copper or ay or anything so i really don't know the whole protocol which is something new i mean you just gotta try it the weird thing is they only have like one scale so it's like do you i don't know how this really works in terms of if there's someone alright good no one's on the scale because you get out and then you walk into the office it's a whole weird process that says stop all right i'll stop over here the whole process is a little weird to me all right how are you doing hey how's it going uh i called about a steel bx wire right around the garage inside for you okay thank you appreciate it all right so my friend mark actually works here i didn't i didn't even recognize if this car was outside even look i guess you just go over here do i drive in see like usually you park here you get a shopping cart or something or a pallet thing and then you just load it on that and put on a scale i've seen that happen pretty much every scrapyard this one i don't know do you like drive in there because i feel like if you have another customer then what [Music] all right it wasn't that difficult of a process it's like scrapping's not rocket science you know it's not really that that hard sorry let's go get our monies i have no idea what it's going to be i'm hoping at least 200 pounds on the bx computer towers are over 200 pounds hey how's it going good just got some light metal now i know i'm just not now i don't have enough for really anything okay so you just had the bx yeah yeah yeah all right yeah that's mark's truck over there his van uh i'll tell you guys why i got here in a bit i can park somewhere all right so um what kind of happened so i got 30 for all the computer towers um i know you can kind of go and take them apart and do all that and if that's what you're into i think there's like gold recovery and all that i mean if that's what you're into you can do that i brought 235 pounds 30 bucks uh then the steel bx wire i had originally planned to strip all that wire out of the uh the cable but the older wire seems to be wound by i don't know if it's aluminum or something else but the inside the inside copper is so tightly wound inside that casing the iron or steel casing that it's you have to cut up in like literally like two foot lengths to take out that wire and i figured the amount of time and amount of work you're going to go into doing that is just going to be astronomical um it would just be way too much i did it with like a five foot piece it took me six minutes and i just gave up so then i cut it down to two feet and took me like a minute minute and a half to do it the aluminum casing this aluminum bx wire is much much easier to do and take out the inner copper than the steel is i didn't realize that so when i bought it i'd originally thought in my head i was like oh this is gonna take me like an hour two hours on my turn 18 or whatever i paid for i think i paid 17.50 for it um probably like 20 with all the i thought like literally take me an hour i can turn twenty dollars until like two hundred dollars but that wasn't the case i mean the amount of work that would have taken me to do all that would have been insane uh so i ended up just taking it as is i asked around i called around i called uh three scrap yards or two other scrap yards and uh i looked online at a couple scrap yards in the area this scrap yard paid 30 cents per pound my scrap yard paid 10 cents uh and i figured i probably had close to 200 pounds there so 30 cents as opposed to 10 cents when you talk 200 pounds that's 20 as opposed to 60 dollars so it's a 40 difference it's pretty pretty decent amount ended up bringing 174 pounds of that stuff over the good part about that although i did get 52 dollars and i only paid essentially 20 for that pile was there probably was another 20 25 pounds of just premium insulated wire which is another 30 35 so i spend 20 bucks i'll end up making about 60 profit not too bad not too shabby there uh but yeah that's that i think right now [Music] but fun fact of the day i have to go right back to the scrap yard because i have all this out here as well and i also took out that dresser so the dresser is out moving that dresser by myself wasn't that easy without a hand truck but i made may do i made do all right so let's i guess we load this up go back out to our scrap here i don't know scrap day as per tradition each week we have to take a turn onto this road and see if there's anything down here this one car has not moved it's not there's been a foot of snow on it two feet of snow on it it's been it just does not move garbage bags do move over there once in a while they'll have a bunch what's going on up here not too certain uh nothing hold on wait a second all right i saw a brown pipe out there recycling thing and i'm wondering if it's actually copper how'd i see this i don't know i also don't think it's actually oh it's a piece of rebar i guess i'll grab it it's brown because it's rusty and dirty i thought it was a copper pipe just i was like oh well that's like two bucks right there it's not it's about seven cents but i guess i'll grab it also just cause something like metal is recyclable it does not mean it goes in the recycling bin just an fyi what's that right outside so if this person goes around me doesn't hit me there we go quickly jump out grab this this person's got all sorts of things going on man remember we found these things everywhere might sound really stupid but i was thinking about buying one of these for salt in my driveway but the fact they have this right next to uh the bag of grass seed means it probably doesn't work if you're throwing that out while you're throwing out a bag grassy either means you're done with the project or it didn't work you had to buy a new one or you just decided it wasn't even worth your time i don't know all right nothing wow holy smokes in case you have wind gusts behind me and it's chilly out here backhand other scrapper if these were in better shape i would save them but as you see these straps are all dry rotted and pulling off um oh yeah i'm only asking what this is because this looks like lead to me but i don't know what all this rubbery stuff on it is i don't know what all that stuff is so hopefully it's lead this is a dress too i don't have someone's name on it it's not me so all right let's see we get here all right well i think that was lead um this drives me insane i've always wanted one of those what would i do with it i don't know i think it's the perfect flea market vehicle to sell one you can bring just about inventory for one spot and just works out just perfectly it's literally enough for one spot like this vehicle barely fits into one spot and realistically like how much i have in here now is probably what i can really sell in one day but i don't know i feel like those are perfect they're like they're just the right size anyway here we are what is this that's a newspaper rack i think yeah it's a newspaper rack do not park here you a block driveway it's all bolted into that fence got anything special out here that's where you gotta look get a fan computer tower so i dropped off a uh dishwasher which i've heard from different places they don't really want them because as you see the entire thing is all plastic and the insides of that is all plastic so plastic racks uh what's that cool thing up there sign says recreational walkway for overflow parking i can't imagine how many signs they used to get back in the old day like in the 80s and 70s how many signs and nice antique signs they probably got wow it hurts to just think about all right so we made it up here yes it's that day we put up one more license plate up on the wall how excited how exciting so today's day will be mississippi and i constantly look at this plate i'm like i know i have one up there exactly like that where is it and to today i still can't find it now i'm looking again and i think it's just because i've looked at this plate so many times i constantly think that i have it i don't have it up there so this will be going up there today let's go ahead and throw it up there because it's kind of cold up here and although it might be fun and exciting it's cold i want to get warm one more to go one more one more and then we are finished oh my goodness i can't believe it's already here can't believe it took three years or two and a half year i don't even know it took a long time to do this one more week ah so another thing was a lot of people gave me a great suggestion with this ladder and they said why don't you hang it up right behind the license plate wall which sounds absolutely stunning so i came up here and i looked up and it's got all this metal here so i don't think i can hang it there i could probably hang it above it but i need a ladder just to hang it and i need our ladder just take it down so unfortunately i guess that's not not feasible look at this wall over here i don't think i'll put one up there either so i guess i'll just go into storage in a different building i'm not going to sell it and the reason i'm not going to sell it is because this ladder has been absolute game changer and anyone's ever been on one of those ladders that just kind of like lay flat against the wall they really are kind of sketchy so this one's good if there's no wind i can imagine being on this thing with wind being absolutely terrible but this one this one's pretty good also i haven't yeah i was gonna say i haven't edited a video i think tonight's gonna be the first night that i edit a video with the new camera uh but i imagine the audio to be a little bit different than the other one so we'll see with that but other than that but other than that this one uh this video is going to be wrapped up here so i did go ahead and got rid of the couch this morning my garbage company came along and they picked up the couch so the last piece i have from that storage unit is that dresser with one shelf that is it after that that storage unit i bought in january will be completely done with except for the stuff that we sell but all the garbage will be gone i can't believe a 10 by 10 unit took me two months almost three months to clean out completely in terms of get rid of all the trash but when you're cheap like me and you don't want to drive to a dump and spend 200 or 300 dollars you do it your old fashioned way so it is what is but almost completed with that guys were curious about what's kind of going on with the storage uni thing just kind of waiting for that stuff to go away before i bought another one unless one that came up was really nice but hasn't been i would definitely purchase that so stay tuned we'll probably buy a storage here in a couple weeks never know what we'll get into thanks for coming along for another journey hopefully you guys enjoy if you guys enjoy hit the like button subscribe down below for more treasure hunts until next time have a great day keep living a dream [Music] peace [Music] you
