trying (and failing) to build a vacation home in the sims lol

i was thinking this morning and i realized that i really haven't built like any vacation homes in the sims 4 and especially not recently which is weird because they made vacation homes base game a few months ago so like why haven't i done it so let's make a vacation rental why not i was thinking we could build something in soulani like a nice tropical vacation home because i built one for oasis springs i know i built one base game one but otherwise i don't think i've really done any like at all so let's make a cool beach one i don't know i haven't built in sulani in a while either oh look at the view i love this world i need to build here more often okay but if you didn't know this rental lot type they added it into the base game like back in november previously you had to have like jungle adventure or outdoor retreat to build vacation lots and they could only be in those worlds but then when snowy escape came out they made it so that you can have rental lots in snowy escape and with that they added rental lots to the base game so now you can put them anywhere you can put them in soolani you can put them in willow creek if you wanted you could have new crest be a vacation home i don't know but i'm gonna make a vacation rental here on the beach i'm not really sure what sort of style i say we just wing it thoughts on that it's not a huge lot so it shouldn't be too bad i know this is like old news now because this pack came out like years ago but i will never get over us being able to build in the water like this is so cool i still can't believe they did this anyway i'm sorry let's build not really sure what i'm going for this is not this is too big but i like the tile roof and like all the landscaping this one with the blue windows really appeals to me this isn't quite a picture of a house but you know i just the vibes i like it and this one also has blue windows so maybe that's what i want i don't know again we're just gonna wing it now the thing about building houses in this world is that obviously they all have to be on stilts which is totally fine by me like i'm into it that's what we wanted okay here's an idea i realized i haven't really built a house yet but what if we had like a fake pool i did this once in a different build oh my god we could have like split level patios and stuff too but what if we had like a fake pool this might be a bit weird okay because it's not really a pool because it's the ocean but what if it was like open we could have a ladder into it and stuff so you can like pretend it's a pool but really it's a hole it's a hole inside of the we'll figure it out i don't know look it's a fun idea okay we need to like flush it out a bit more first because i don't know what i'm doing i think it should be two bedrooms i don't think it should be a very big place well we could probably do bunk beds in it too to be honest i don't know what i wanted to look like at all i want to have like balconies and stuff like that that is the dream like wouldn't it be nice if this bedroom had its own little balcony off the end once i put the roof on it'll be easier to figure out what we want because right now i'm just kind of winging it and it's not going very well i feel like i should put a small room there not to like stick a little tiny balcony in the same spot i mean that's like basically where the patio is but i like the idea of a private balcony off this little tiny space but that's a really small room we can make it bigger oh we can make that work this is a weird house maybe although you know this could be the bedroom for the parents and this could be the kids bedroom we could have like a nice big bathroom i don't know let me put the roof on before i get make too many plans cause i don't know what i want this to look like i've gone for a slightly odd shape i think is that too complicated and then i feel like the back is too boring does that make sense i feel like the the back is really bland what if we did it like this how do i fix that problem oh there we go it's where when you build rooms the game like puts a regular foundation on it look i'll show you i put a room like in there it's got a real foundation on it somehow in the middle of the build it's very odd anyway we could have like a gazebo out in the back somewhere that would be really nice it doesn't have to be a massive interior okay i think i'm gonna put two bathrooms the issue with this though right is that i want this to be the parent's bathroom like i want it to be an ensuite but i don't want to have to put the door in the corner can i make it bigger is that super weird oh that's massive the the bathroom's bigger than the house what if i did it like that or like that possibly oh look it did it again oh the foundations are so annoying let me just click everywhere just in case yeah it has no business being that big what if we make well what if we make the bedroom bigger so it's like that that's not weird the bedroom honestly could do well with being bigger foundation type requires a room oh that's annoying do i have to like rebuild the whole room i haven't built with a stilted foundation in a while i've forgotten this kind of pain okay that's better though it's a very big bedroom for the parents but that's that's not a bad thing the kids have a really small room but you know they'll be fine we can always make it a little bit bigger i think there's no harm in that you probably don't have to put bunk beds in there yeah you know what at least like this this bedroom is now bigger than the bathroom i feel like that should be a priority is having the kids bedroom be larger than the bathroom yeah okay i wanted to use like an orange tile roof that one's really a lot isn't it maybe we could use one of these that's got a little bit more texture to it i feel like i've made a mistake that doesn't come in blue either does it you know what does come in blue is the jungle adventure stuff oh oh i wonder if we put like jungle adventure doors what do you think about that look it's definitely um a very bold choice we could do like a white front door we can make it all white and blue perhaps huh do i want that uh maybe the maybe the outside could be white i like the blue doors on the interior but i don't know about the the combo of i don't um the jungle adventure windows are bigger like i i much prefer that window to like this one oh that's just a hole i forgot about that it doesn't have any glass it's just open should i put that in the bathroom is that weird how come this one has glass but that one doesn't ah i don't mind it's fine are we making the whole thing white now is that what we're doing i don't like it maybe we should have gone with like one of these roofs oh the orange roof trim is better okay it looks less weird than the white and i'm wondering if we paint the outside of the building blue that would help because right now this whole place looks very odd that looks odd too it's so much it's like the blue and orange is a fun idea but i want the blue to be a little bit a little bit lighter if that makes sense does that like tie it together better what if wait because that looks like the wood color what if we made the windows that what ah this is hard i'm not cut out for this it doesn't look good at all like at all at all i wonder what would happen if we put these why why is that it's like you see how it's snapping to the middle of nowhere stop okay right there for some reason i can't raise the other one up higher than that it just doesn't go up oh i got it i got it okay oh i like the idea a lot i don't like the black the black metal i'm not a fan of that's annoying okay well it was fun a lot lasted it was a fun idea can do that one in the bathroom perfect here's the other issue right like i want to use these cool slotted ones but i also want big windows in the back because this is where the view is like that's what you want to be looking at but it's too big i don't know what to do you can't really see out this kind i mean well i guess you can it's just it's not the same energy like we want more than that same with that like that's not a view i guess this could be a fake balcony who is stopping us from making it fake you know but we could put some big windows in the back of both of the bedrooms so the shutters go on the inside or on the outside surely on the outside yeah i don't hate that i kind of like it i feel like it helps fill up the space well too let me get a different window here guess we could do like a little shuttered one it's not really what i'm going for it doesn't look that bad from the front this i think this place is growing on me i think that once we get some landscaping and stuff it'll it'll really come together that's a different blue i wonder if we change the color of the house to match this blue if it would like make more sense that's the right blue isn't it okay i realize it's hard to tell but what i was originally going for let me stick this more this way lower okay higher is that what i wanted it to look like yeah that's what i wanted oh that looks weird okay anyway that's what i was originally going for i just i think the idea of that is very cool like the multiple levels and stuff like that and then there's like some space for us to stick some lounge chairs what if it was just open on most of it maybe we should have the thingy on the back but then like you know it's just open to look out that the place is closer to the house or more safe i don't know okay and then we wanted to put well i say we i really wanted to have like some sort of gazebo thing is that going to be in the ground what is it oh that was weird is that how high it needs to be yeah it's the same height as the rest of the house okay oh no oh no there is that too tall no that's the right height okay is it gonna be like super ridiculous to have that so high up i don't think so i want it to be there because that's the right height to match the staircase but like that's the theory the theory is that we can have some sort of raised up base like that i'm not a huge fan of this house i think i'm really into the idea of like a dining table being on this or something you know that looks scary doesn't it is it weird to have stone on this i think it might be a little bit weird to have stone on this but i kind of like it we can always do tiles throughout the rest of the interior of the house oh that's a fun idea the blues don't match but i don't know i don't think i've done a very good job here with this okay i'm sticking some like random filler furniture down i like the idea of a living space laid out like that i don't want to put a tv in here i feel like we don't need a tv in here that might be naive of me to say but i feel like we don't need the tv my sims can just watch the um ocean that's cool oh this table comes with like blue on it doesn't it let's use that i'm trying to get more color because i feel like i've not done a good job with this do we need a kitchen island you know i don't know why they did these swatches why does that one exist i feel like i like the idea of a kitchen island but i'm not sure if it's gonna seem out of place do you know what's kind of embarrassing is i i built this whole house with the intention of making it just the base game in island living because in my head i was like oh you know you don't need jungle adventure to have vacation homes now and then i built an entire vacation home that you need jungle adventure to use like my whole goal was to make this house something that like anyone could download you don't need to have jungle adventure um and then i built this where you in fact do need to have jungle adventure i'm sorry what if there was just four seats on that table is that weird i want to put a lot of plants here i think that's what we really need is a significant amount of greenery in the front yard well front yard is a strong word it's in the front sand i think we need a lot of greenery in the front sand i wish that this came in orange we can use the reddish color though i love island living's landscaping i i think that this pack has the most beautiful stuff in it i just don't know how to use it it's my problem like am i really gonna stick this giant tree like directly in front of the window yeah yeah i am you know what i like the shade from the palm tree i think that's a really fun spot to have like some towels on the beach we should get a luxury beach towel right not a discount one it's a luxury vacation home and look this five simoleon price difference i'm sorry my neighbors are mowing the lawn i'm trying to build can you hear that i'm putting rocks that's the best i can think of to fix this problem i'm going to put a couple of rocks okay this house is like fine it's not good it doesn't something about it just doesn't look good you know when you like have a vision in your head of what you want it to look like and then you just can't it doesn't translate that's my problem right now i don't want to use this bathtub this is not the vibes that i'm going for i do want a fancy bathtub in front of the window though should we put it like a little bit off the wall maybe what tile do you put on the walls with this when you're using this floor tile what do you put on the walls we should have just gone straight for jungle adventure we shouldn't have bothered with this weird tile i i don't know what i was thinking what do you think about that not with this floor tile that will change the floor tile i mean we have like reddish huh i kind of like it it looks a bit dark in here this build is so ugly and i'm i'm not like fishing for compliments by saying that i i think people think that i am i'm not i don't like how this looks and i'm telling you i don't know if you can hear the lawn mowing but for some reason the like i think it's a leaf blower the sound of that makes me want to like scream i i think that's part of the problem is i feel like my head's gonna explode because of the leaf blower i don't i don't know why i'm being so like angry about it i just can't think straight because they're blowing leaves does this give you like luxury vacation rental vibes because it doesn't give me luxury vacation rental vibes i think it needs a shower i think that's part of the problem is that we we simply cannot do this without including a shower you know i just realized if you were taking a bath in this bathtub people can just straight up see you from the patio oh and if you're on the toilet because there's not even glass it's just open you're you're really just peeing right in front of people on the patio that's okay you know it's the sims okay i didn't think this through i don't know how to fit in the shower into this tiny bathroom because the shower blocks the window so if we scoot it over still blocks the window okay that's fine that will do does this even still function i think we need a smaller sink i'm just trying to get this stuff like scooted further away from the door because i know it's a really small room this does not scream like luxury vacation rental to me what if it was like that instead it's so bright i just wanted to have like two beds you know what if we had them like this would it be better like this we don't need to have a lot of furniture in here like this room doesn't need to be packed full of furnishings at the end of the day it's a vacation rental oh what if we did it like that we are going for an orange and blue theme but yeah like i was saying at the end of the day it's a vacation rental so you don't need to have like toys your sims aren't going to be staying here for a long time they're like spending the night here so they can go to the beach at least that's my intention i don't know what i'm trying to do here like the more i look at this the more i'm like really kayla what are your intentions if we paint the walls white with perhaps a blue it's not the right color i want to match the blue that we have on the beds oh actually i kind of like it being mismatched colors how does that look i think that's very cozy i'm kind of into it i'm trying to think though if i want to get like a grill or something that would honestly be very useful like it would be really nice touch to have a big grill but i'm not sure if it's like if it looks ugly i guess that's what i'm trying to say i don't know if it looks bad so that's why i'm not sure if i want it i guess at the end of the day i'm just trying to make sure it's got like usable things that your sims might need so that it can be an actual playable space like this jet ski where should we put it i don't i don't know should we stick it like okay where where did it go is it in the sky oh my god i want to put it like over here ah when i try to rotate it it goes in the sky i can't tell if it's in the sky already or not that is in the sky oh oh that's way lower than i thought oh my god is that on the water i think so okay that'll be fun i do think we need to have like a ladder on both sides of this i don't know how weird that is but i you need to have a ladder to get into our fake pool and a ladder to get into the real ocean if we stick it like over here that makes sense i think i'll stick the trash can in the front a little bit because your sims can come over here to to throw things out and then it's not like on the patio i feel like i have absolutely no sense of design in this house this is why i can't do things that are colorful i think that's my problem is i don't know how to like make things colorful and like have fun patterns and not also look ridiculous so all my houses are very like cream beige soft blue honestly like this room is what my houses look like usually and this is what happens when i try and do colorful things i don't know how to do it i don't know how to make it look good look i have very limited abilities and that is beyond them that i can't pull off i don't even have an excuse like this furniture is genuinely cool i just don't know how to use it well maybe i should put like um one of these in here how do i make it go all the way down can i not put okay yeah that's floating i don't know how to fix it never mind i just won't that's cool i don't mind you know what i never realized you can't size this plant down because of the shadows do you see the shadows around the the four feet okay don't look too closely at it because i want to keep the plant size down oh maybe we could put fans in here oh that'll help look and it's very realistic it's very hot outside they need these maybe i will have a little swing set it's a nice touch for the whole family should we hang up fish above the beds i don't know why i kind of like the idea though at the very least we deserve to have some expensive appliances right should i put like i'd do it i'm probably not gonna have upper cabinets so we can have a really fancy thing right maybe a dishwasher this kitchen is already fancier than the majority of the kitchens i ever built i never put in dishwashers and yet the one kitchen where it doesn't matter because it's a vacation rental and you're probably not using so many dishes this one gets this one gets it i finally use it i finally use a dishwasher and it's in these circumstances i don't like how it looks i'm gonna delete it i'm sorry what if we put columns inside does that help i'm sorry maybe it's the patterned rug that i can't deal with what if we did like a plane rug or if we like sized up this one maybe it's the couches that are bad now no it's the rug again if we try jungle adventure instead i forget how bright this rug is wow okay well what if we use that rug that sort of has the orange and blue that we're going for how about some tea we could use some tea on our vacation that would be nice right this house is ugly if you want to download it you can i want to try and build this house again but better just not right now i need to like take a break from this and come back with a fresh pair of eyes i think last steps showing live edit objects i want to get like a little rock pathway leading up to the front i want to use like these little stepping stones do you see what i mean i want to make like a little thingy to get you up to the front door i feel like that would help us oh see that could be good enough oh we do need a mailbox still hey there fine it's a fun airbnb oh i didn't do a very good job all right i think in the future i need to experiment with color more but try harder oh why does that have the fence in the front everything is going wrong okay there we go i'm singing it on the gallery for you if you would like it feel free to download it it only uses island living in jungle adventure but it does use jungle adventure i think next time i should try one that does not use jungle adventure because that was what i was aiming for because i wanted to be like oh if you don't have this pack you can still come visit but it didn't work so i'll link the base game vacation rental i made because i did do one for oasis spring so you could go stay in that if you'd like actually like it's real you can you can't actually stay in it it's the sims you know what this is not very good but it was a learning experience and on that note i'll see you guys tomorrow bye
