okay there it's Kyle with dirtbike Channel I wanted to show you what happened when we went on our Graham Jarvis ride we did a little bit of a clinic style thing here in the parking lot with Graham and he just showed us some basic drills some full lock turns some suspension tricks and some things and I wanted to bring you guys in and let you experience what he was talking about with this I also want you guys to pay attention to when he says hey does anybody have a recluse and there's only like two people or three people out of out of twenty four people he's like okay good that makes it a lot easier for me Graham wasn't the biggest fan of recluse Auto clutches because he wants you to be able to actuate the clutch and only have one person running the clutch so let's listen to what Graham has to say here all the controls just try and get you to learn we might do it anyway but to ride with a front and rear brake covered and the clock is obviously one thing on the clock I don't how many have you got how many it makes it easy if it makes a lot of it's the controls on the clutch that fighting point up controlling the speed on that fighting find its small movement slow riding so the first exercise it's going to do turn both ways our main goal is to get controlled to control the speed like I say front and rear brake and do it standing up and always say if you can get your weight over the rear of the bike so I'm going to get you to just hang back a little bit so your weight in that rear tire the key defining grip is to wait in that'd be a nice engagement for me to see you just might slow speed so I explain a technique demonstration and then if you got any questions so I apologize I don't have a better angle here but basically he's just gonna be doing full lock turns figure eight and full lock means he's got the bars turned all the way and he's controlling his speed he's basically riding the front brake and riding the rear brake and keeping that handlebar turned all the way against the lock and just using his balance weighting the rear wheel and it's it's so much easier said than done watching him made it look so smooth and so easy and then we all got a chance to try our hand at it and go out and it was not nearly as easy as it looked but if we can just learn in an easy way skills just a mix of the basics more we can break it down give that a go so I won't bore you with several minutes of me trying to do these foal lock turns and figure eight and control my speed and not have to dab a foot it's tough though this is something that we all need to be doing a lot more of every time we go out and ride it's do a little bit of these slow drills a little bzees bit of these balance drills to help us to hone these skills and and get better balanced and better control with our brakes and our clutch and and everything and now we'll move on to the next skill that he was talking about [Music] as well use one finger all the time some special technical stuff if it's all good habit to get into so the next most important technique place its low-riding gonna use in all kinds of situations the next steps - you have to use the suspension so for the base things of wheelie techniques but lifting the front wheel you can need it for the steps and rocking on your idea so from the technique to just taking the weight off the front as well before I teach people to do wheelies I'll do this demonstrate B with a suspension you can bounce the front wheel without the engine where the idea is to get people to use the suspension rather than opening the front wheel so I'm going to do a jump up and I front and rear brake on and it can press the front forks some transfer more weight to the front push on the bars obviously more compression and get more rebounds you can get and it's gonna rebound and a natural speed so you're going to be working that rebound catching it and then pulling up transferring the way to the rim so do you get that time in right [Music] oh you're holding two on the back right ball five yeah suspension right did you pull back yeah I'm just feeling what the suspension is doing so I'm just feeling when it's at the bottom it's gonna start coming back up so it looks like I wasn't recording any of my attempt at bouncing the suspension like that that was unbelievably hard I cannot tell you guys how hard that was it makes it a lot easier if you've got somebody that can hold on to your fender and try to give you it give you some balance cuz the heart one of the hardest things is just trying to get the bike to balance to balance the bike while you're doing that but that was a fantastic drill to help you understand how to compress a suspension and use the suspension and he does it all the time he's always wheeling into these obstacles just by bouncing you know compressing the forks and then letting that rebound come back up and getting his front wheel off you watch him deal right there he did all day long it was so difficult to do but I know that's something that I've got to practice just more and more and more because I watched him throughout the day and it's like this is how he's getting stuff done he's using the suspension of the bike to be able to get that wheel up initially and just some really really awesome drills so I've got more videos coming out of some of the other stuff he talked about but these were two of the two of the real basic drills that we went over and it was it was phenomenal so everybody should practice this stuff
