howdy it's triple kane again and the purpose of this video is to just showcase this little shaper from england it is hand powered armstrong powered and it's a cute little thing and we'll show you how it works we're not going to cut any metal but it really is a nice little machine [Music] here he is [Music] that's quite a little machine that is fantastic [Music] [Music] i was going to highlight that with white or silver paint again how it is i never did get that far well i know how that is yes on the return stroke [Music] training back stroke's variable depending on how big a piece you're turning is to how long you make the stroke got this little clapper do you have a vise for it or not really this is the palm grim drill press spike okay fits on there quite nicely [Music] it's got just about six inches of stroke about six inches about six inches max yeah you can you can crowd it just about six inches this is a very precision little shaper made in england notice the dovetails right here that a little bit gary on the feed there we go good faster there we go and then let's take a look at this end and operate the lever for me slowly the dovetail is beautiful and again i'm get i got that yeah stand there here we go all right now i'll do it and it has an adjustable give both there and under here for the other there's the gibb adjustment for the cross stroke and you think maybe this was made in the 40s somewhere around world war two this information i found here so these were produced both and you will note there is no quick adjustment for the table these bolts have to be loosened and then you can raise and lower the table on these t-slots and it's got a clapper box and it will tilt and the cutting cutting head will tilt left to right plus we got the adjustment there as well and this is a very small lathe made by the same company in england probably during about the same time era for those of you who like these small metal shapers take a look at this video of mine and actually there are three parts but this is the title to one of the parts and i will put the links in the description be sure and check it out here are a couple scenes from these earlier videos they're about 10 years old that's the very intricate feeding mechanism that's in part one this is what that little shaper looks like under power it has not been restored yet perhaps a four or five inch stroke and here is that shaper actually cutting i hope you enjoyed this short video about this little six-inch shaper owned by gary it is not mine gary is from texas and just brought this up to show me so long for now you
