this robot made me cry...A LOT (BIG HERO 6)

fun over here i thought it was time for an animated movie we've been having a lot of fun with some of the movies we've been watching over here lately we've seen some superhero movies some dramatic gritty movies like the departed with martin scorsese some heartfelt films like remember the titans and i'm just kind of excited to get into a sweeter more lighthearted animated film i've definitely been enjoying the animated content that we're doing for a series which is avatar the last airbender that has been a lot of fun but sometimes the inner kid in me just wants a little bit more content to watch and to soak up and enjoy and so yeah i figured it'd be fun to watch an animated movie with you guys today this movie was definitely suggested a lot when i watched how to train your dragon and kung fu panda i definitely saw big hero 6 pop up a lot but the poll was definitely a fun one over on my patreon page i included a lot of movies there were a lot of great animated movies that came out last year that are now nominated for oscars so the poll was filled with movies like that but this movie ended up winning and i'm really interested to see what it's like because i know absolutely nothing about it with movies like kung fu panda and how to train your dragon the title kind of gives just a little bit of the plot away like with how to train your dragon i figured we're gonna be capturing dragons and training dragons and it was gonna be cute and fun about man's relationship with dragons and it kind of was and uh kung fu panda again jack black the name is kind of in the title you're thinking oh it's a panda learning kung fu and it was so this one i have no clue what big hero 6 means i i could not even guess and i have not read the log line so i'm going into this one pretty blind and i'm excited to see what it's like and because i don't know much about this movie i've got nothing really to say about it i'm just kind of excited to go along for a fun little ride with you guys and see what it's like and see if it's well made if i enjoy it i'm just kind of curious and ready to have a good time so if you guys are ready grab a drink grab a snack and let's get into the movie okay we're in san fran are we in a futuristic san fran this looks interesting oh robots are fighting looks like we're in an arena with all these lights yeah we are oh oh they're oh they're little robots they're itty bitty battle bots got it where's the guts to step into the ring with a little yama no none of them do can i try oh except for him this clo the closed captions say hero so but it i think it was spelled differently than the title so i'm wondering the title's gotta be in relation to his name then his robot's gonna have to do a good job he's imitating look at it it's like got a little happy face on wait can it reassemble itself for now that was my first fight i'd oh um oh we already lost oh i've got more money he wants to play again that looks like a lot more money this time why does he want to play again it can reassemble itself megabot destroy oh he was baiting him he was baiting him was he baiting him what that's great oh look at him he's not even he's so casual about it i'm as surprised as you are beginner's luck no you're gonna beat up a little kid and take his robot you can't take his well that's not cool wait that's ridiculous hero get on sadashi but what about his robot oh he just took his robot yeah yeah oh nice oh good oh okay i'm happy now dude what were you thinking knucklehead yeah is that his brother you graduated high school when you're 13. and this is what you're doing oh he's a genius yeah that makes sense i'm on a roll big brother oh no it is his brother i knew it oh no the cops oh no they arrested him oh no i ain't cass are you guys okay tell me you're okay we're fine we're okay is she gonna beat him up now too yeah yep you ask if they're okay and then you beat them up do i know anything about children no should i think of a book on parenting probably where was i going with this i had a point i've been there been there girl she's got a really nice piece of real estate here in san fran oh what would mom and dad say i don't know they're they're gone oh they died when i was three remember thank you for giving us that exposition kid [Laughter] i'll take you really you guys just got out of jail you just got out of jail like we're not even gonna wait one night what are we doing oh we brought him somewhere else smart the robotics lab smart brother good job okay that's the cool girl introduction of the cool girl okay i'm only guessing that's the cool girl because she's gonna have to take her helmet off and usually they have a big reveal or a big reveal yeah she's super cool look at her blowing her bubbles do not move behind the line please hey wasabi his name is wasabi catch oh that is cool oh that's why you're behind the line i get it ah don't be alarmed it is just a suit this is not my real face and body oh god i recognize this guy's voice school mascot by day but by night i am also a school mascot wasn't he wasn't he also the voice of one of those guys and how to train your dragon hey oh the white thing on the cover oh it's so cute oh it's so gentle and polite hello i am baymax baymax oh that's cute programmed them with over 10 000 medical procedures wow this chip is what makes baymax baymax you don't want to lose that chip you have been a good boy have a lollipop oh burning the midnight oil mr hamada and so is everybody else in the lab ever think about applying here your age wouldn't be an issue oh i don't know he's pretty serious about his career in bot fighting well kind of serious he's getting swayed so quick he's drinking the kool-aid you got to hurry if you want to catch that bot fight he doesn't anymore have to go here oh what a good big brother you come up with something that blows callahan away you're in but it's got to be great trust me it will be [Music] nothing oh he can't come up with an idea he's got writer's block wow washed up at 14. i love that they share a room it's just like so cute watching them like constantly together look for a new angle this is what we do in acting school what's he doing with those trash bins it takes a lot more than this to rattle me yep oh here she is the cool girl oh they're all helping that's nice what's going on he's nervous i really want to go here oh you got this it's also like not your only chance you are 13 or 14. i've been working on something that i think is pretty cool i hope you like it come on hero you can do it i have a feeling something's going gonna go wrong i'm nervous oh he's already walking away that's so rude it's okay hero just focus on the people that are happy in the crowd for you yeah that one guy was a jerk for just leaving right away oh oh we put them all in the crowd oh the microbots are controlled with this neural transmitter oh so it could be a weapon oh no he created something that could be a weapon maybe how about transportation oh yeah that's pretty cool he's magically connected them to a neurotransmitter that's crazy ah the robot's clapping for him oh it's cute [Music] oh aunt cass i love my family she's so cute with some development your tech could be revolutionary mm-hmm aleister craig oh that's aleister cray oh that's not callahan it's a different guy huh i'm a little nervous who is this guy i want your microbots at craytech uh-oh you can continue to develop them or you can sell them to a man who's only guided by his own self-interest hiro didn't you want to go to the school i wouldn't trust kraytek with your microbots or anything else oh talk to your brother about it but they're not for sale oh smart little man mr cray that's my brother's yeah he took the mic yeah mm-hmm yeah he tried to get away with that huh he did he tried to get away with that oh thanks big bro he's got such a great brother man oh yay see this is better this is better you go to school and mr gray will come back as the villain anyway it doesn't matter oh he made the right decision i'm so happy thanks for not giving up on me uh oh what's happening oh no oh god don't go [Music] does that mean that callahan died because oh man i did think for a second like this relationship with this brother is so sweet like what if he dies because like sometimes we lose like really important people early on into children's movies to like make us empathize with the protagonists really quick and oh god they both died holy oh that is so sad i feel like normally i'd be crying but it happened so quickly and i thought in my head like he might die and then and then it happened right away that like it didn't make me cry because i was kind of prepared it's just not fair i feel so bad for hiro i guess his brother's robot is gonna have to play into this somehow though cause i remember like i've seen the big white robot on the cover art i wonder if he's gonna like find meaning working on his brother's project or something i just feel so bad for him it's so sad now i'm getting worked up after the whole funeral scene because i'm just gonna be sad while i'm watching him now he should come down he didn't eat the last meal god dang it hero if i could have only one superpower right now it would be the ability to crawl through this camera [Laughter] you're such a dork dude guys if i could have the ability to have one superpower right now it would be to crawl through this camera and hug you all oh the robot's here oh oh i wonder if it's gonna be able to like scan his mental must have been caused by him or something that's impossible they were destroyed in the fire oh yeah he's talking to baymax oh yeah why don't you uh find out where it's trying to go would that stabilize your pubescent mood swings would that stabilize your pupism there it goes baymax is great can i be like baymax yo if you go buy me groceries that would really help me feel better oh no oh no melted the robot's trying to dance with him what is that mochi with that darn cat just throwing the cat upstairs okay hairy baby poor mochi just threw the cat upstairs tadashi what about him oh he's seeing the hat he's dead baymax with a proper diet and exercise he should have lived a long life yeah yeah he should have oh man i really thought i got away from the crying and nope i am sorry about the fire it's okay it was an accident yeah was it is he starting to think it wasn't now because he's seeing that the micro robots are being made oh yes yeah smart cookie let's work on your moves oh we're going to upgrade him to more of a battle bot status i see but he's still going to have his big puffy body right now let's take care of this oh no what's he going to look like he's got to look the same they're just going to have like more tough armor as opposed to like a balloon oh yeah here he goes oh i have some concerns [Laughter] oh no he's changing the microchip yeah let's see if it your blinger okay cool girl time for you to drive yep yeah get in there girl yeah yeah she's got a need for speed good job girl oh she on the sidewalk she cray-cray but i like it thank god nobody is out at this time of night be max nike take this guy no oh you can't good job baymax seatbelts save lives nice job buckle up every time love this robot he's so cute oh my god uh oh does maymax function in water is baymax gonna save everyone oh no oh he's taking his armor off so he can float huh smart he's a life raft yeah good job yeah he functions better without the armor although i understand why he needs it for fighting we should get out of here i know a place wow really got really dude welcome to mikasa that's french for front door it's really not it's really not this is his house heathcliff my man come on in guys we'll be safe in here oh my god he's like one of those trust fund kids who's like a hippie he's a hippie trust fund kid my parents they're on a vacay on the family island was that artwork of stanley it looked like that father was inspired by stan lee or something cause i saw that when i looked up the castles i saw that stan lee was in it i only looked it up to figure out who fred's frickin voice is does this symbol mean anything to you guys yes it's a bird great job fred it's so funny that it looks like i'm convinced that the guy playing his dad is going to be stan lee which makes the whole comic book thing for this guy even funnier the man in the mask who attacked us is none other than voila alistair cray fred annoying and kind of dumb but also smart it he knows what he's talking about his blood type is a b negative how do you know that bro you scanned him baymax able to take people's cholesterol without needles uh you'd have to scan everyone in san francisco oh san fransokyo did we rename san francisco and it's san franco if we're gonna catch this guy i need to upgrade all of you he's gonna make them all superheroes i'm starting to understand why you guys voted for this movie can you feel it fred is so excited he has been waiting yep he's been waiting his whole life for this moment oh my god i totally get why y'all picked this movie now this is so funny i was so surprised when this one like won in a landslide now i'm like no i get it my audience do love the superhero content oh yeah she's gonna be the fast one nice we're really just making the butler part of this training oh he's buttering a croissant he doesn't even care the fist show them the fist no no not the other thing oh we're really just destroying fred's home now though make freddy so happy but it makes him happy i guess so it doesn't matter one thing i feel like is gonna happen is like someone's gonna get hurt whether it's whether it's hero or somebody else and baymax is like gonna be really see how flying makes me a better healthcare companion yeah i feel like it's gonna make him upset and he's going to be like i hurt somebody like this is everything i was programmed not to do whoa okay a little too much 2 oh god jesus he really is not good at like doing a medium amount your neurotransmitter levels are rising steadily oh you're happier the treatment is in the mirror with his brother when he was on this brother's bike got dang it that made me cry oh no that was really sweet oh flying off into the sunset oh that's so cute i have found a match holy moly oh of course it's on that island i wasn't terrified of heights i'd probably love this but i'm terrified of ice so i don't love it we couldn't have put wasabi on top we had to make him hang on for gorgeous place this is beautiful it really is like hank pym's invention maybe just take her ship just grab the ship and go she's just in a hyper sleep that's so crazy i guess her pod kept her safe oh god uh oh no [Music] baymax is gonna die is baymax gonna die just get get tadashi's chip please get to dashi's chip please oh his thrusters aren't working oh no there is still a way i can get you both to safety the fist the fist bump wait but what about tatashi's chip my potatoes chip what about those videos i can't lose you two hero i will always be with you oh no god dang it this is so cute i should have seen this coming but dang it oh no oh oh oh no i'm crying all my makeup off again oh god it's so sad but you saved a human so that's pretty cool we're taking you to the hospital it's unfortunate i know he's going to jail can't even see his daughter yeah but at least he got her out hey sweetie okay does she think he's been going to school this whole time oh he probably is going to school now but yeah oh he's got his hat his brother's hat is he gonna try to build baymax again [Music] it's in there is the chip in there i see oh i am baymax your personal healthcare companion i'm not okay he built a new one who are we [Music] oh i get it there's six of them i get it it took me a long time because if you count the robot there's six of them oh that's cute oh my god there's a mid-credits scene there's a mid-credits scene for this movie is this a movie like a marvel movie and i just didn't realize it i don't think it is right it felt like one back at fred's mansion uh-huh we're looking at dad now i just wish he could see you oh no way he has a layer a superhero layer oh my god fred oh he's home stanley i wear them front i wear them back i go inside out then i go i go front and back dad [Music] oh my god and stanley is ruth's dad oh that's cute man that's really really really really really really cute okay all right that was a fun experience i'm happy i waited you know at first when tadashi died i didn't cry and i remember thinking that it was kind of quick and expected honestly i thought something was gonna have to happen to raise the stakes emotionally a little bit and i even thought oh my god what if something crazy happens like his brother dies but i didn't say it out loud so when he died i wasn't really that surprised but then what really hits you is just watching this little kid go through the stages of grief and like learn how to let go of his brother and not let go of his brother necessarily but just let go of his grief and his anger and try to move on and try to find meaning in something else that his brother left behind and tried to heal with this robot it was just so sweet and all those moments are really what got me more watching him miss his brother process the grief and try to grow and be like his brother um be the version of himself that his brother would have been proud of that was just so sweet and those moments are what made me cry and really what were so moving about the story so um yeah i thought i got out of the woods there without crying for a little bit but i didn't as you can see i cried a lot it was very sweet it was a good movie uh you know it's funny because when i made this poll on patreon i was thinking like wow why is this movie but why has it been suggested so many times why did it sweep in the polls like i really thought the other movies that i put up against it would do well and this one is just winning by a landslide now i get it it's marvel themed it's inspired by marvel and there's stan lee in it and it's about superheroes so now it makes perfect sense uh i really am happy that i went into this one knowing nothing about it though the music was incredible definitely the music made me cry even in moments when i was maybe holding on and the music took me all the way there i liked the fact that callahan was the villain and not cray cause for a little while there i did think it would be cray but then i had a moment like that's so predictable though it's got to be somebody else so that was a fun little reveal i love the way that little things came back around like how uh baymax was always saying your brother is here and hiro wasn't really listening to him like no he's gone but he meant in here like this chip that he implanted in me there's all these videos of him like he made me he's here um you know don't try to make me something i'm not i'm like i'm an invention of your brother you know i liked moments like that coming back around or even something as subtle and as small as when he was flying on baymax and saw his reflection in the mirror and that was a calling back to earlier in the movie when he saw himself in the mirror riding on the back of his brother's bike like moments like that were so well done and definitely tug of the heartstrings a lot it was really sweet yeah this was a great suggestion guys i am glad that i saw this mentioned so many times in the
