*KUNG FU PANDA* is better than I thought...

[Music] [Applause] [Music] i guess we're watching kung fu panda hey guys what's up welcome back to my channel i'm natalie and today we're watching kung fu panda everybody welcome back to my channel everyone thank you so much for being here and welcome if you're new today we are diving into a movie that quite honestly i never thought i would ever watch and that's kung fu panda i was so unbelievably surprised at how many people suggested this trilogy here on my channel once i watched how to train your dragon i asked you guys for some animated movie suggestions and we definitely saw a wide range of suggestions but overwhelmingly by far kung fu panda was the number one most suggested thing to watch next maybe i'm just prejudging it it just looks kind of like a silly movie to me based off of the trailer that i saw years ago and based off the fact that it's jack black to be fair though i mean i grew up with school of rock as a kid and i loved that movie so i know jack black is great but i think i just associate him with really silly comedy and don't get me wrong i love to laugh and i'm really excited i have a feeling this one will make me chuckle today but i'm really surprised at how many people suggested this one it really really uh blew my mind and even before sitting down to film this movie i told tyler i was filming because i give him the heads up each time because you know it's like a i'm about to go lock myself in a room for like minimum of an hour so i like to let him know before i do it and he was like oh what are you watching and i told him kung fu panda and he was like oh that's a good one so even he's really excited that i'm watching this today uh never ever would have expected that this movie has so much love around it it really surprised me i really have no expectations for it aside from the fact that it i expect it to be funny i expect it to be kind of goofy but i guess i should be expecting maybe a little bit um of heartfelt moments at some point because i feel like if it was just funny and goofy it wouldn't have gotten as many suggestions as it has so i don't know what we're gonna see today but i'm excited i'm really in the mood to just laugh i really wanted to sit down and watch something light-hearted today i do have to watch game of thrones later so i figured i'd start my day with something a little lighter another animated movie and i'm really down to just have a good time and have some fun today i really do feel like my channel is all over the place at this point i mean literally we've done leon the professional we've done how to train your dragon the dark knight trilogy wanda vision game of thrones and now kung fu panda oh blade runner 2049 as well we're just really all over the place um and i kind of just i kind of like it i'm not gonna lie i know that there are channels out there who maybe stick with similar genres but i like watching different things depending on the mood that i'm in that's just how i've always been i don't have a favorite genre sometimes i want a comedy sometimes i want a romantic movie that's going to make me weep sometimes i'm sick of crying and i just want to watch a fun action i'm really all over the place in real life with what i like to watch so i guess this channel is an accurate reflection of what i want to watch it's also a reflection of what you guys want to see because i do really heavily take into account what most people are commenting down below and the suggestions this one was not even a poll on patreon i didn't make a poll for this movie i just decided executively that i was going to do it because really truly i've never seen more comments for a movie under one video so this really overwhelmingly just it was obvious that people wanted it at least the people who were watching the how to train your dragon videos and yeah it's definitely different and maybe it's a little chaotic that i watch so many different styles of film all the time and that i'm always switching it up maybe it's not the best decision in terms of trying to grow my channel but i just don't really care i just want to watch stuff that i feel like i'm in the mood to watch when i want to watch it and i want to watch different stories all the time i never want to watch the same kinds of stories because i'll just get bored so i'm really excited to watch this today because i have a feeling it'll be a little different than even probably how to train your dragon i feel like how to train your dragon was probably more heartfelt than this will be but it should be a good time so if you guys are ready grab a drink grab a snack and let's get into the movie oh different okay a different dreamworks logo i like that clever even the most heroic heroes in all of china the furious five bowed in respect to this great master the furious five i'm sure we're gonna meet them get up you'll be late for work oh he was having a dream he was dreaming that he was the badass ninja oh like he wants to be a part of the furious five i see the furious five are real and he was dreaming that he was a part of it it's funny because pandas are such lazy creatures oh he can't even have it hit the wall there sorry dad sorry doesn't make the noodles dad this is goose your dad was are you adopted son you were really dreaming about noodles uh yeah what else would i be dreaming about oh there's a ninja star in the soup my son finally having the noodle dream oh no oh no oh no it's a moment oh boy that you're ready to take over his business we are noodle folk broth runs through our veins oh sounds delicious is that a red panda it could be something else too i forget oh it's so cute well done students oh as he spins it it plays the flute that's so cute but what it's master oogway he wants to see you oh my god there's so many like goose geese in this world oh master oogway's a turtle you gotta have patience to talk with this master oh is he trying to blow out all the candles you were saying tai lang will return oh is ty long a feared villain see a leopard one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it why is turtle or tortoise i don't really know the answer becomes clear what's gonna be the answer a dragon who is worthy to be trusted with the secret to limitless power the panda the panda i don't know oh he doesn't know it's him it's him jack black master oogway's choosing the dragon warrior today i wonder how he's going to end up being trained like how they're going to give him a chance oh no oh no he's going to break all the bulls isn't he oh this poor dude almost there are you almost there oh my god just give up on the noodle cart man he's gonna have to leave the noodles behind oh god oh no dude yeah you weren't fast enough oh no now oh no is he gonna try to squeeze through that hole because that's not a good idea oh god oh god i have anxiety i know he needs to get in it's like come on dude oh god oh no oh the poor panda the dragon warrior is among us oh boy who's he gonna pick maybe he won't pick the panda oh no what's he gonna do oh god oh no he fell how did he find this chair was that out there already too oh no is it going to go off now and it's going to smash him the wrong way [Music] yep oh no it smashed him into the wall he's abandoned fire oh no oh no oh that's oh yeah that's not a fun way to land ow oh god oh that's so funny man oh he's pointing at him him who he's so humble oh they're not gonna be able to carry him they're gonna have a hard time they're just little geesies oh no you were about to point at tigers and that thing fell in front of her oh no he was pointing at the tiger he was pointing at the tiger that he and jackpot just landed in front of the tiger if the panda has not quit by morning then i will have failed you oh boy i don't think the panda will quit the panda's gonna have a mulan moment oh this geese or this goose he's been flying all day and night to reach the prison escape from chur gum prison is impossible well yeah you guys have gotten a bit cocky 1 000 guards and one prisoner oh there's only one prisoner oh this prison is just for him oh wow i have a feeling he's about to escape right now why are we opening his his chamber this is exactly how he's gonna get out these prison guards are too cocky oh boy oh boy he's getting ready he's gonna break something isn't he why do i feel like he's gonna break this or something said to contain the souls of the entire tenshu army don't touch it don't touch it stop my patience is wearing thin oh well i mean it's not like you were going anywhere oh he thinks he's talking to the jar how do you get five-year-old master shifu oh he's not even fazed by the fact that he broke it he's just like i love that this little red panda is so mean and crotchety to a big panda i can't wait to get started oh boy and so the training begins i bet he's gonna have the hardest time winning the tiger over because the tiger's probably upset that she didn't get picked well if we don't try we'll never know we'll i recognize the voice actor of this little red panda too i know his voice uh i gotta look it up it's gonna bother me we use that for training children and for propping the door open when it's hot well he's basically a child so oh angelina jolie is the tigress that's funny jackie chan is the monkey i guess i don't know the name of the red panda so this is i yeah it might be brian cranston he's gonna hit it and then it's gonna bounce back at him how's that he knocked a tooth out oh my god oh he's gonna somehow be fine or not never mind one would think that master oogway would choose someone who actually knew kung fu yeah or could at least touch his toes that's david cross the bird oh oh he can't see his toes oh it's okay you're a panda your whole thing is being cute and cuddly oh he's breaking the floor oh my god what was that oh my god oh my god oh he's one of those he's one of those people uh yeah yeah of course this is your room i mean you don't belong in the jade palace oh she means she means it in the real way you will be gone by morning oh boy big fan big fan oh she don't take no oh this one the kind tortoise is back i understand you eat when you are upset oh me too dude yesterday is history tomorrow is a mystery but today is a gift that is why it is called the present yep i heard that one oh he oh this poor goose oh no they're the ones breaking him free oh god oh snap he's still just as strong as when they locked him up he won't get fined archer let the poor goose go oh my god the freeze frames yes oh this poor goose i just feel so bad for him you should have probably crushed the bridge earlier oh boy oh boy this kind of reminds me of fall guys oh boy here he goes oh but it's about to blow up can we run now yes yeah it's too late you dummy should i let the poor bird go oh no now he's got him oh don't hurt the bird fly back there and tell them the real dragon warrior is coming home well shifu was right about sometimes our panic causes the problems he said something like that i forget exactly what it was he's quit no he didn't quit he's already up i bet he's already in here training nah this is minima yeah i'm stuck the only souvenirs we collect here are bloody knuckles and broken bones yeah oh boy he's so motivated now i love it they're not gonna go easy on him that was awesome let's go again oh it's the prank mantis i was like why does it look like he's fighting no one i'm like oh it's the bug who am i to judge a warrior based on his size i mean look at me oh that's true oh the snake and the and the praying mantis are so nice to him i love this according to legend there was once a time when master shifu oh master shifu hold on it's not brian cranston who is it dustin hoffman oh my god before ty lung he wasn't just a student oh he was a little baby dropped at the doorstep oh boy oh that's sad oh shifu trained him it was never enough for thailand he wanted the dragon scroll but oogway saw darkness in his heart and refused there's some daddy issues with this villain i see but how could he oh oh that's so sad oh so you never got that invested any ever again oh a big fat panda who treats it like a joke oh that is it why oh no that's i accidentally tweaked his facial nerve [Laughter] and may have also stopped his heart i was gonna say i don't think that's him oh my god the comedy really comes in at unexpected times i like it oh it's the goose oh i could use some good news right now oh he doesn't have any for you i need your help master no you just need to believe promise me shifu is this tortoise dying the way he's asking promised me i feel like these are like his last words or something my time has come oh my god is he literally about to go what what what what are you what what what wait i know it's very sudden i agree oh wow the artwork is so pretty oh he's cooking dinner for them something he's good at yes what are you talking about oh this is amazing wow you're a really good cook oh look they're they're complimenting him finally oh oh nothing master shifu oh no don't do it no he's going to come in right now oh don't do this he's going to walk in right now and he's heartbroken because the master just passed away no oh no this is really cute but don't do it hylung has escaped from prison and you're acting like children well to be fair they just got the news and here i am saying you got no sense of humor i'm gonna step down he's like oh i thought that was a joke ugly cannot not anymore is that how you're gonna tell them that oogway just died it is not your destiny to defeat tai long it is his oh and he's gone he's running away oh now oh there he is he's like you're not allowed to run away anymore the tables have turned what a plot twist how are you gonna change this into the dragon warrior huh how oh how i don't know oh i empathize with this little shifu character he's so cute and has so much doubt that's what i thought oh come on oh she was watching oh boy are you kidding me what is she doing where is she going is she going after him oh they're totally following her aren't they her friends don't try and stop me we're not trying to stop you what we're coming with you look at how fast this snake can move with the tiger and the bug too to be fair that praying mantis moves very fast you'd think that the bird would just carry the praying mantis honestly oh is he destroying the kitchen why are you destroying the kitchen what was the point of breaking the kitchen you have a perfectly good gym to work in i just thought you might be monkey he hides his almond cookies on the top shelf is he figuring out that food is what motivates him oh my god he's motivated by food he's like oh my god you're a ninja but you just need food look at you yeah i know i disgust you this is amazing this is just an accident there are no accidents hey there are no accidents i'm loving all these like universal themes and like phrases that are just so wise me on my first backpacking trip i just went backpacking for the first time and this is honestly how i felt i now see that the way to get through to you is with food it's with this yes oh i love this when you have been trained you may eat oh he's gonna work oh i see that tree is gonna break oh we caught it oh and then okay good we're not being wasteful this is so adorable because pandas really are just like big lazy food like hungry bears they're just adorable and this is just i love this this is so cute oh look he's finding back now [Music] [Laughter] this is just so cute oh my god he's so good now oh this is great you are free to eat he's gonna he's not gonna trust that he can ever just eat again hey now he's pissed oh look he can do the thing that he wasn't able to do before i mean this is a really clever way to train him but oh now we're playing this game are you kidding me i bet this is somehow gonna come into play with tai long this mixing of the bowls thing i tried to teach koda how to do that and he he i literally never got past the point of using one cup he would get confused when i'd hide his favorite ball under one cup so i never added more cups nope this is so funny oh my god i love seeing how excited the little uh master shifu gets he looks so happy to be doing this it's just it's the first time he smiled the whole movie it's great oh we gave it back i'm not hungry oh wow that's crazy master oh oh what a cute little progression you know you just gotta cater the the teaching methods to the student oh boy they're about to go face to face aren't they here we are guys maybe don't meet him on the oh cut it yeah you probably should have cut it before i'm worried about this tigress falling to her death right now oh she's ending up on the wrong side this is bad she's farther away oh he's choking her oh no oh my god okay luckily they got a bird on their team okay good good good oh the what yeah this doesn't seem like a good idea oh they're all relying on this poor little bug that's holding them this poor little pug he needs help oh geez i mean they did a good job with that but it's still not enough cause he i mean there's oh no here we go they're gonna see him swinging himself up he cut himself loose oh no there he is oh boy but he didn't teach you everything uh oh oh no what did he just do to the monkey and the rest of them oh are they paralyzed or are they dead oh god this is oh he the poor heron we were no match for his nerve attack nerve attack oh at least the bird somehow flew them all back here though so you could come back here and strike fear into our hearts but it won't work uh it might but you will have the one thing that no one else does the dragon scroll the secret yes it is time for the scroll you really believe i'm ready you are oh he's progressed so fast why do i feel like uh tai long is gonna get here before we get to see the secret because that's the whole thing tai long is fighting for he wants to be the dragon master right oh wow oh i love watching his little ears move he's so cute can you not even open it oh god thank you oh god it's blank what it's blank oh i wasn't expecting that oh maybe he's not the real dragon warrior is it only have ink on it for the person who's meant to be the dragon warrior maybe i will fight him he'll kill you i will finally have paid for my mistake oh i don't want shifu to die she feels so cute who's the dragon warrior is that scroll ever gonna say anything hey dad oh maybe it needs to be in the like it needs the secret ingredient of the noodle soup to light the spill on the scroll and then it'll show something oh he just put the apron on him oh he's not gonna leave he doesn't feel right leaving sometimes i can't believe i'm actually your son yeah yeah i mean it is weird a panda being the child of a goose oh are we gonna admit that he's adopted or something now i mean i think we all knew come here the secret ingredient is nothing oh there's no secret ingredient oh like the scroll there was nothing on the scroll this is exactly what he needed to hear oh oh you just have to believe in yourself oh that's so beautiful oh god oh oh he's here already whoa i'm not really understanding the motivations for this villain anymore considering that the dragon scroll's already been taken well you want to kill this guy who raised you like a father oh i don't want shifu to die he's so cute and little he better not oh is he gonna break that he's gonna break that isn't he or are they just gonna fight over it oh boy give me the scroll he doesn't have it oh oh that's so sad po get here already no no not this cute little red panda no oh no he's so little and cute oh god did he just set the palace on fire what the hell what what is this blue stuff all of a sudden i loved you too much to see what you were becoming what i was turning you into oh [Music] where is it oh god stop trying to kill this guy you will never see that scroll tight i bet poe brought it right back oh he's out of brush he's after all this training he's still out of breath from the stairs i am the dragon warrior he's a panda what are you gonna do big guy sit on me oh no he has it oh he brought it back oh god luckily this is exactly how he trained to fight over an object it just used to be food maybe he won't want it once he sees that there's nothing written in it oh he's sitting on him i crack up that like these animals have been enclosed the whole time like they're all in pants they're like giant chopsticks yeah he's playing the game see i knew this was gonna come back around i know it and he's so good at it that's great wow he's really good on stilts oh the rockets again the rockets again i like how everything's coming back around this is adorable oh it's literally in a dragon's mouth again he's visualizing it as a cookie so that he can reach it i'm so food motivated too i love this whenever i work out i'm like what am i gonna have for lunch after this workout oh no finally is he gonna see that there's nothing on it it's nothing it's okay i didn't get it the first time either it's just you oh he doesn't like that answer oh no he did the nerve thing oh it doesn't work on him because he's all blubbery he's just tickling him oh look at him he's good he made him bite his own tail did you just shoot him in his face he's gotta come back down there he is he just steps out of the way a little bit oh my god this is adorable wow he's doing this all himself this is incredible oh we got the pinky hold wow we really brought it back around to everything oh the whooshy [Music] oh my god it's that powerful when you flex your pinky you think that shifu would have used it oh does he have the outfit now where did he oh he's got a bowl on his head it's a wok oh my god he's got a wok on his head wow that's so silly but like so cute they can't lift him up oh my god master oh master what about master shifu he's got to be alive still he's up there he's still going to get out of breath i like how in shape he is now but he still can't handle the stairs that's really funny oh no don't let him die he's so cute you are the dragon warrior don't let this little guy die there's no need he can survive come on thank you thank you oh come on now i don't like this he stays alive long enough just i'm not dying you idiot oh he's sleeping okay okay good good good good he's finally at peace he can meditate again because his baggage with tai long is over you want to get something to eat yeah oh you want to get something to eat what a cute little line for the end of the movie this movie was definitely cute definitely fun i think i was right uh in my assumptions that it was going to be more goofy and not so heartwarming as past dreamworks movies that we've watched here on my channel but it was still really adorable and i really liked that they leaned into the stereotype of pandas that they're fat and lazy because they really just are and they're adorable because of it um so i like that we acknowledged that and had his whole training centered around food i think a lot of people can relate to that too me personally when i'm working out i definitely think about how what meal i'm gonna reward myself with after a hard workout so i really liked that bit i thought it was adorable i thought it was sweet to see a secondary character with so much at stake the character of master shifu being a father figure to this villain and feeling guilty over what he had become i just i liked that story and then we also had the dad issues with the protagonist as well wanting to make his dad proud and feeling obligated to follow in his footsteps but then ultimately the dad is proud of him at the end of the movie just really sweet really light-hearted and really enjoyable i also like that each time it got really sentimental or sweet we quickly snapped out of it with a comedic bit because i do think a movie like this it's meant to be funny it's meant to make you laugh it's meant to make you smile so anytime it did get kind of even semi-emotional they really knew when to drop that joke in and the timing of that was really great so i really liked that and even some of the art style it really went back and forth between being super goofy and super gorgeous scenes where like master oogway passed away and scenes with the trees and the stars and the wide landscapes were just so beautiful and then to have that juxtapose the fighting scenes where you'd see this really silly imagery or they'd do these slow-motion shots that were really reminiscent of i would i'd assume a kung fu movie um to have shots where they would you know do slow motion and it would go between fast and slow and we'd hover on the shot we freeze for a little bit before rushing to the next one i've never actually sat down and watched a true movie based on kung fu so all of my knowledge about that kind of style is from pop culture references all in all it was really fun and enjoyable and definitely let me know what you guys think in the comments down below let me know if you think that i should watch the remaining two movies i'm not necessarily a purist in the way that i watch things so i don't necessarily finish series or trilogies just because they exist just because those movies are out there so let me know if the movies are really good and really strong and if so then i will go and check them out for you but if it's not something that y'all need or want then i definitely don't have to do it either so i
