here we go again round two like we told you guys last week the rtx 3070 ti is launching so we compared to the 30 70 and the 3080 and then we threw the 6800 in there from amd because it's right around the same price point so we're going to give you guys a quick video and not waste a whole lot of your time at least not as much as this entire review wasted mine the all-new 5000d mid tower airflow case from corsair features an optimized front panel for maximum ventilation while the integrated cable management and tempered glass side panel means you can show off more of your components and not your cable mess to see the full list of specs and to learn more about the 5000ds flexible fan mounting options perfect for both air cooling and water cooling enthusiasts follow the sponsored link in the description below today we're going to talk about the launch of the rtx 3070 ti another mythical card you probably aren't going to be able to get your hands on that's why you guys are going to want to pay attention to our giveaway that we've got going on right now link down below it's a complete system package upgrade i'm going to mention it in every single video and you guys are going to get sick of it but it includes an rtx 3090 and it's worldwide want to know more click the link below you guys are sick of this and so am i trust me uh especially when for some reason i don't know why nvidia is just so hell-bent on cluttering the high-end range as much as it possibly can rather than coming out with any sort of uh mid-range or lower end card or even just taking somehow the resources to your rate more create more lower end cards we now have a 30-70 ti not that it's all that weird we had a 1070 ti as well so it's no surprise that it's here i think the timing is wrong i think the whole just the entire situation just sucks all right so just like we saw with the 3080ti whereas the 3080ti had a little bit extra over the 3080 uh it was just a shaved down version of a 30 90. two less ssms and yada yada but the 3070 ti is no different than how the 3080 ti ti launched where it was basically just a 30 90 with half the ram on it and then it had a couple of sms removed and 200 256 less kudu i haven't been drinking i promise although i i wish i had been today 256 less cuda cores two less sms yeah like the typical story they just take the same ga 104 and then they just they're just shaving it they're filleting it as they go and that's what you get what you have here the major difference is if you take a look at the actual cooler design itself this is the ti right here this is the standard 30-70 they went from the cassette tape looking to a blow-through style cooler that's probably just because of the fact that this cooler maybe for whatever reason wasn't performing as they'd hoped when it comes to cooling so they went with the 3080ti style blow through as you can see it's just like like a mini 3080 at that point uh which is a little bit better more efficient in terms of the cooler but for whatever reason they found that they needed to update the cooler and not just reuse this like they did here even though they're both based on the exact same ga 104 core however when it comes to performance it's interesting just like we said in a 3080 ti we talk about hypotheticals here that being pricing now the only hypothetical we can actually go off of is the msrp most people who buy the founders edition card if you buy them at microcenter at best buy you're going to get them for the msrp at least the first ones that are sold and whatever ones trickle in after that and then you're going to be dealing with scalper pricing and price inflation and supply and demand as uh you guys learned it back in grade school we have got a 100 difference between this card this card and this card in between each one so there's a hundred dollars here and a hundred dollars there 499 msrp 599 msrp 699 msrp so this is running gddr6x just like its bigger brother the 3080. it's only 100 more than the 3070 which is running standard gddr6 so considering there is exactly the same price difference msrp between each of these cards this should land theoretically smack dab in the middle performance wise right [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] do [Music] so as you guys can see by looking at the charts with the price of this card being exactly in the middle of the two that's not where the performance lands we use a pretty diverse testing suite there's a mixture of dx12 dx11 some ray tracing some dlss newer titles older titles titles that are more cpu bound titles that are more gpu bound because we really like to just sort of just shotgun our testing methodology out there to see how it performs in a wide range of tests so i was obviously very disappointed at the fact that for whatever reason instead of landing this card right in the middle with the way they tuned it see they can tune a graphics card based on not just how they shave it but the core clocks the boost algorithms the temperature targets fan curves all that stuff can fine-tune the performance of a card and where it lands just like a car you can fine-tune this like an engine and get it to land where you want obviously otherwise they wouldn't be able to stick it in between the cards like they did here i just feel like they kind of took a completely different approach here on how they they placed this card in the market the 3080 ti was designed to go after the 3090 crowd those i would buy a 30 90 but can't right now i don't i have i've been hearing rumors that they even discontinued the 30 90 and are only offering the 3080 ti now i don't know if that's true or not but just like they did with the titans and just like they did with the uh when the 1080 ti came out and they slapped titan x owners in the face by giving you a card that was only a few percent slower for a fraction of the price they did it again with the uh well titan rtx was 2500 bucks so they just kept the price really high on that with a 1200 2080 ti and nothing landed in between but we just did it again with 30 series an rtx 3090 and then rtx 3080 ti so my expectation with the 3070 ti was that they were going to slap the face of the 3080 owners by having a 380ti land really close to a 30 80 and then you'd have 30 70i here like this having perfect room for a 30-70 super or some stupid like that but that's not what they did they did it like this which makes me think now we're getting a 30-70 ti super because you got to have the ti in there which makes it faster so it's going to land right here or something i don't know it's a weird it's a weird stack and that they didn't they didn't make it land in the middle like i was expecting but this time it's just it's just so disappointing what am i supposed to talk about i feel like this should have launched at the exact same time as the rtx 3080 ti but they wanted more people to go out and buy 380 tis and 30 3070 ti's otherwise they would have launched it at the exact same price obviously the 3080 ti is a twice exp yeah twice expensive card 1200 versus 600 msrp yes i'm obviously well aware of the pricing which means now there's no new new technology there's no new geforce suite there's there's nothing new to talk about it's just got two extra letters on it and it's shape it's a it's a slightly better version than an rtx 3070 and it's just what else do we talk about 256 more crude cores two more sms a few more uh um rt cores it is what it is so i'm sitting here now having to bombard your inbox or your your your subscription box with the same crap everyone else is talking about because nvidia wanted to separate the launches by a week for absolutely no reason whatsoever that can make any sense to me other than the fact they wanted you all to go out and buy twice as expensive cards first and then when you didn't go and get those now you can try and get these just completely doubling their efforts on making uh as many sales as they possibly can obviously they're in the business to make sales i don't fault them for that i just cannot see any reason why i had to waste my time two weeks in a row talking about a card that's only slightly better than the one prior to it or in the 3080 case it was actually a lot better than 3080 but that's besides the point it was also way more expensive so other than the fact that they put a new cooler on it and uh two more letters there's nothing else to really say other than the fact that i'm not gonna be reviewing partner cards i'm not gonna be blowing up your inbox with all the same crap that you guys have heard over and over and over again it's been eight months of this i'm done i'm tired of reviewing these cards my recommendation at the end of the day would be if you could get your hand on an rx 6800 from amd at its msrp or near that of 579 dollars a 20 cheaper card than the rtx 3070 ti and outperformed it in many titles uh that are that are rasterization based i would go that route because dlss yes it's amazing but still not all titles use it ray tracing i feel like a lot of people are still turning it off i personally wouldn't take the performance hit to a 30 70 ti to turn ray tracing on i don't know i think maybe i get that it's trendy to hate on nvidia that's like the cool thing everyone does and that's not we're doing here i'm just frustrated with the model and i i know this is my consumer hat i understand the business side of it but from a consumer perspective i'm just i'm fatigued and i'm frustrated with this grind and the here's another card another month another card and you guys are sick of it and so am i so i get that it's really trendy and you guys love when reviewers get all mad on nvidia but i'm just i'm tired of it i'm this family is done this family as far as i'm concerned are right off it's never going to be in stock so what's the point of even continuing to talk about it the rx 6800 was a was an amazing competitor to the rtx 3070 ti if you can get your hands on either one of them if they're in stock i would go for either one of those cards but the rx 6800 if you don't care about dlss and you don't care about ray tracing might be the better buy for you that's it that's all i'm going to say thanks for watching guys we'll see you in the next one and sound off with all your hate down below because i know you're gonna anyway so now i'm telling you to do it so now you're just doing what i told you to do that's how i like it
