[Music] do [Music] hey welcome back to another episode guys can you see this sign behind me that's it mate we're at the york peninsula now it's been a couple of years since we've been down here and we're going to head down and we're going to show you some of our favorite spots and we're also going to have a bit of a look around and show you a few hidden gems as well and you know what the best part is i'm walking through the bushes i'm going to go and catch some fish can you believe it i am i can just feel it in my bones that the fish gods are going to be shining on me this year you'll find this when you turn onto the york peninsula you'll see this big sign in the background as you cruise through everyone's in the car they're keen we've got a week of weather that's going to be 36 37 degrees can you believe it come down here i'll talk to the missus we'll tell you what we're going to get up to hey swing in here and check out the wifey today i just want to say to you you are looking extra stunning and beautiful today all right thank you darling she doesn't know what to say but she does mate your trend and your fashion for 2021 is on point is it it is what are you saying we get comments all the time no everyone tells us she's such a fashion fashionista i just i'm comfortable well you know what she has to do she has to make up for my bug in this so that's why she's always that is very true i said to justin mate you need to start wearing some nicer clothes i wonder like a bogan bike i enjoy it mate why try and be someone you're not if you're a bogan live it have a look at this mate oh hey after spending eight weeks in victoria in the middle of summer we were lucky to have four days over 21 degrees over 32 every day right i we are just gobsmacked we cannot wait to get down there to swim yeah to fish to explore the beaches and to show you guys all the little hot spots we find so when you hit the yorks on your own travels come here you've got to come down here and explore it so all right um let's get rolling where our first stop today is going to be point turton where we're going to park up uh it's another hour and a half away so we'll get in there and we'll just enjoy ourselves let's do it we'll have quite beer as well no that's nothing unusual something out of the ordinary for me [Music] a little bit of random info for you as we head down the york peninsula um you know everyone calls it the foot and i'll show you why i'll drop a map in over the top here because when you look at the map of australia and the york peninsula it actually looks like a leg and a foot there you go it's where everyone calls the orcs the foot can you see the color of that water wait have a look peek in between the sheds i'm gonna be like the elbow slapper king george whiting squid master you just oh holds a special little place in our traveling hearts point turtle it's just a nice little you know when you pull in somewhere and you get this vibe well that we get it we get [Music] do all righty we're in the gate and 10 minutes later we are set up in one of the most primo positions you have to come and see this but first i'll show you becky because i think she's quietly or maybe not so quietly pretty damn happy with it righty hey oh my goodness i'm stoked i haven't slammed it oh my god turn around turn around oh look at this mate for one grass grass is our favorite grass two we can see the water and three i've got room to whip the tinny off drive down the gravel and put it in at the boat ramp happy so days oh and i'll tell you it's probably about 36 degrees right now it is epic so good yeah [Music] right oh hey check out this weather behind me i've got two and a half three days of this coming at me with no wind so the tinny's about to come off this is probably gonna be one of like the most scenic teeny drop-offs i'll ever show you so thanks looking at me like a weirdo i'm so excited [Music] so oh i get heaps of questions about how the trailer goes together all you need is a 17mm socket a 17mm spanner and the bolts all put it together a couple of pins where the trifold goes together on the draw bar and the rest of it it's happy days mate it's just a few bolts a few nuts so it takes longer to get off the back of the van than it does to put the trailer together that's the nuts bolts are nuts the missile's shaking ahead [Music] do because i am the one all right i'll give you a bit of info on the crabbing down here you don't have to have a fishing licence that's right malcolm yeah no fishing line no fishing slice but you're allowed to have three dillies per person uh but i've never used a dilly before so what you got to do you gotta work pretty hard come and check them every 15 or 20 minutes because if you have a look when you pick it up there's just like a steel grate in the bottom and unless you're lucky enough that they get their cause tangled in that net there then they're just going to walk in and out so you've got to come and check them pull them up and then they'll get stuck in there yes that'll sit on the bottom crab crawls in lift it up you can't scoot out the sides there you go so it's fair bit different for me i'm used to crab pots in queensland where he can just sit and forget leave him out overnight in the tide and come back and if he's in there he's in there he ain't getting back here so we're gonna drift around and just put him in like you see all the weed on the bottom and then you see little sandy patches i'm gonna drop it in the sandy patches um then we'll come back and check them every 20 minutes and we'll try and catch a few squid while we're ready right yeah probably uh get a few squid first squid in the boat look at that that's a nice little one mate and guess what it wasn't me that caught it there's no surprise there a couple of those beck will be very happy don't worry we're just drifting over these little weed beds out here having a bit of a jig let's see if we can't get a few more first net coming up i reckon we're good we on yeah oh yeah oh yes thank you have a look at him underneath oh yes it's a buck how good is that now as if muddy's in that as well you just got a little measurer you just got to make sure that that the two widest points here uh are bigger than that and he's huge mate look at the size of that his age big enough crabs ah i look at my smiles about this big deer ah squid crabs a couple of kgws and we'll be laughing yes number one i reckon we got six pots here if i get six i'll be stoked but i reckon we might just get a few more we're gonna um keep squidding we'll keep checking the net so i'm gonna go get the kids as well and bring them out and see if we can't scare them with a few of these nippers so we're on the money now that's two from two yeah another oh boy i'll show you all i've got this one if you don't know that's the male so underneath like the nice big point it's the same on a muddy it's always the male the female will have a big rounded flap into a tiny little point and what did you say before malcolm the the blue the blue ones down here are always the males yes that's mrs now she must know i'm on some crabs [Music] well i've got one hey you ain't the best at the moment but that'll do i'll take that for number one because now in my luck i probably won't catch another one yeah oh if i don't end up beating him that'll be mad bait through kingy off the jetty bill go pull pull pull pull straight up good job good job mate what have we got oh what have we got oh yeah billy boy my second one is good oh he's a good crab yeah do you want to hold him here you go bill your first crab don't hold too tight at the top there you go look at that mate there's your first blue swimmer it's a bit easier to handle than the old muddy i'm gonna hold him together there you watch you'll probably get bit in there grabbing the other one he's bluey look at that he's still heaps big enough smoking it this is a good one here it does both so it does mud crabs and sand crabs so the inside one is for the blues and the outsides for the muddies but there you go handy to have one of those turning around on your i'm not too travels to let him go he'll probably bought me yes oh they're a good crab such a good crap it's taken me all day but i've got what i've come for hey i need a few more of them and i'm going to fill the freezer that's a good squid have a look at him ah some sick colors oh yes oh look at the size of those claws mate bloody ripper you'd be able to reach me from there too i'm going to end up out of the boat oh that's a nice one so you've got to drag them up real quick otherwise they can get out oh two double banger for the last port killer ah that's the spot nice one what a morning i think we've ended up i reckon i'm gonna say 12 crabs we'll count them when we get back to the ramp we've probably got 10 squid 12 crabs i'm going to duck in have lunch have a swim try not to lose my toes and then i'll come back out probably with charlie bear and check the pots again before i bring him in for the night but there you go cheers for good morning smelky how good is that mate a little bit of local knowledge to get you on the right spot is all you need they are some good crabs damn fine cooked up with a cold beer don't worry about that have a look at them i like it all right here's the charlie bear hey how many how many did we end up catching 12 squid and 11 crabs we did mate we got 12 good squid and 11 crabs have a look at this on the front of the boat hey are you actually serious that is going to be like the best seafood cook up ever well there you go not a bad morning for our first day at point turton so a couple of days of good weather i can't wait to get a few more of these eh hey um before i cook them it's a hot tip from malcolm but i do it with the mud crabs as well i clean them first before you put them in the pot just stops all their guts and rubbish and stuff coming out in the hot water but all you do is fold their flat back then lift it over peel the back shell off like so all that goes out in the water and then you can just snap them in half and all that stuff see all the guts and everything and their lungs you just rip all that off throw it in the salt water once that's done chuck them on ice in your bucket then when you've got your pot going at home all you do is drop all these pieces in like this and then super quick like what's a cooking time on a crab malcolm for bits like this get it to boil and then five minutes after it's boiled they drop the crab in once the water's boiling drop it in there five minutes after it comes back to the boil they're out ready to go done there you go so yeah boiling water five minutes boiling and away you go chuck them on ice and i'll tell ya last time we're here um we ate about 30 of these each i reckon and i reckon one beer per crab it's a pretty good quota thanks bearsie bye-bye ryder dinner time hey check this out malcolm from the parks brought up his big kick ass boiler so we're not waiting four hours to cook a few crabs we're going to get that to the boil cooked a whole lot at once mate so we'll show you how you do that let's swing around here becky is one happy lady because we managed to get a dozen big squid as well and i'm gonna do some calamari rings how um we crumb it everyone might do it differently but this works for us do an egg wash put your egg rings in there and then put your crumbs in a bit of this stuff or you can just use this stuff you don't even have to use crumbs um we do fish in that and it's bloody nice just in butter or shallow fried but i put a bit of that in anyway hot tip that's like a dollar fifty for a packet from woolies so you can even get chicken one too that does chicken strips fried chicken fried chicken um and just give that a bit of a mix together now the only issue with doing it in a bag is it gets a bit gluggy so you sort of got to take your time and do a few at a time sort of thing otherwise you can do it on a plate um it does i don't know it's one of the things if you want crumb fresh calamari you just have to deal with it but i'll tell ya it is bloody delicious when it's done here we go spin that around have a look at this have another fresh plate ready and then once they're done you just bang them in the fridge and when you're ready to cook it we're cooking canola oil get it on the shallow fry and they only take like i don't know how long you cook your squid for malcolm like a minute two minutes yeah so chuck it in for a minute give it a turn and then um have a look until the crumbs about golden brown you don't want to go too if you go too cool it gets all soggy and soaks up the oil if you go too hot it burns the crap out of your crumb and doesn't cook your fish or your your um squid so find a happy medium we always use the induction cooker so we know set it on 1600 watts it's good to go and it's so it is so good but have a look at that they're gonna be good that with a bit of salad and we've got apes next time um i'll show you my little wrap recipe i do see like little corn tortillas a bit of salad bit of mango chutney and it's the bomb the water is well and truly boiling check this out this is how we're just going to manage to do it all in one hit it's a great setup mate look at that and just bang it in now the water will stop boiling we'll let it go until the water boils again and then we'll get the timer on five minutes pull them out and then we'll put them in a nice slurry and when you rip them out chuck them in an ice slurry stops the cooking and then they're super cold when you eat them and i tell you they are they're good like i like mud crab but to eat a heap of them i like blue swimmers much better right they're so damn good [Music] [Music] look at oh yeah [Music] all right so we're all cooked up have a look at this we've got a full bucket of chilled down crab straight off the cooker the pair of pliers is your best friend but honestly this is my favorite bit the crawl yeah charlie wants to play here we go thanks malcolm one of these or even a nutcracker but bezzy's gonna have a crack at this you ready eat it oh you're gonna squeeze him out look at that it's like a little crab lollipop get into that oh yummy oh honestly it is you don't like it oh no i hate it it does is there anything you don't have to have it i reckon the best eating crabs made hands down it is so good like with muddies you can like you're lucky to eat one and it's just too rich you can sit here and eat half a dozen blue swimmers with a few beers no worries who are they ruining look at that okay have you had some babe no not yet i'm going to dig in now that there is ripper here i'll spin around have a crack at that get into it get in there way better than muddies way better well can you cut this i can't claim it all myself thanks malcolm thank you putting it down without your mind but i ain't going to steal so many crab pots to take with me [Laughter] i always give the squid a little bit of a tester before i drop it in make sure it's nice and sizzly and um here we go squid's going in oh man i cannot wait to eat this though hello dear hi what do you reckon about this mate this is lovely are you keen for this calamari or what oh i'm it's ridiculous i'm awesome so excited so excited that's my dinner what are you having you know exactly what i'm having how much do you love me dear justin knows the weight of my hardest speed have a look at this would ya some fresh calamari caught only hours ago just daddy mate just over there a few more just over here a couple more back in here somewhere and now they're crummed in nice little circular rings ready for dinner tell you what they're welcome sleeping we're just leaving we're hanging for this stop we have been only stopped somebody eight weeks and it felt like eight years because this is what we do and mike it's just a good feeling um just to be ah it's just beautiful and didn't i tell you the fish gods are gonna shine on me this year we just might have to take malcolm with this rabbit country we are we're going to enjoy this have a quiet cup of tea an early night inside i'm knackered mate i've had a big day on the water but tomorrow we're going to take the whole family bringing a chill off down around the point mint day do some snorkeling have lunch on the beach and even try and find a few abalone some scallops and hopefully a sneaky little cray but hot one tomorrow hot one stay on the boat hanging out nighty night we'll see you tomorrow oh [Music] family boat they did i know i'm one of my worst beers that you know how you see those boat ramp fails and their whole boat and everything rolls in the water that's one of my worst views are you guys jumping in can you just hold the boat against the edge there jack yeah there you go hang on to that uh i'm excited mate yeah it's the first time i've actually got a day well it's keen normally i'll just go out fishing today we're just going out we might have a fish but it's more about going to find some swimming spots park up at the beach a little bit of snorkeling yeah i know it's good to have the miso in the boat mate nice fishing more swimming normally she's normally just super happy for me to get out of her hair with the kids and she can just lay around at home and chill out which is a good honor you know make the most of it but have a look at these conditions mate can you it is like a full glass off i cannot believe it absolutely unbelievable and you wait um yesterday we found some dolphins and some reef and a bit other stuff so today we've got the snorkels we're going to go back up there with the kids and uh see if we can just float around and find some some cool stuff to show you i've also got the hot tip that there's a few abalone and scallops around so i got one of these um little measurers for abalone and i'm gonna jump over the side see if we can find them it's only like three metres if that you could probably stand up probably two meters of water i'm looking forward to it oh i just can't wait to get in [Music] let's get cracking [Music] have a look at this water mate [Music] [Music] oh man you could almost touch him oh that's sick have a look at him all right he's hanging out in front of the boat look at this baby one that's magic well have a look at this would you only be about 20 minutes from the caribbean park and we've found this perfect little spot kind of goes to a bit of reef and a bit of weed and there's zebra fish there's drummer there's abalone i can see hopefully i can find a few scallops as well we're just going to drop the pick here and float around oh next float around with our snorkels on and see razor fish on the bottom so clear mate it is out of here going in not yet what are you doing what are you doing back in here mate it's a bit fresh is it oh yeah it's fresh yeah you'll be right okay i'll jump in now jump in we'll get you a snorkel all right three two one do it mate do it three two one oh wait cool yes refreshing who's next are you going oh i can even see a couple of ledges under here i know it might be 100 to one chance but i might just find crayfish who knows where [Laughter] go down there there's a little cave where the fish are hiding i can see it what can you see there is zebra fish oh my god i better get in what do you reckon about this mate it's good it's scallops hey check it and then have a look at this i'll show you one of these i've never dived for these before but that's an abalone okay he's just legal a little the little um measurer just goes over the side of him but malcolm's going to show me how to eat them later they reckon they go right what do you cram them and grab them cook them like squid yep but there you go i can't wait to eat these they're like scallops you know how you get in the restaurant they're worth a bazillion dollars i'm just going to like open them up and put a bit of garlic butter on them are you out of breath oh i am i'm knackered i can't dive like about three meters is my limit and i get a real bad squeeze i can't equalize my ears but anyway and i'm probably a bit unfit as well check it out i've got squid rui's catching squid we're getting one we're getting scholarships look at this water how good is it busy you're talking to me geez it's just about pulling hey it's going to be a cracker bear look at that here it comes oh that's a big squid get it in there there you go dad guys did it that's all right here you go keep the weight on him keep whining keep whining use your muscles there you go whoa all right i slow down holy dooley that is a big squid oh man don't tell me that's bigger than mine wow well done charlie hey that's a cracker look at that from calamari oh hey well done charlie beard you're on again son i'm on again let's go and have a look at him keep the weight on him fish master oh squid master oh he's a good squid too bruh whoa wow incan everywhere he's just so excited yeah you've got him good that's it that's a monster room oh i hate it when they pee on me it's just water it's trying to get away squid ink take this off another scallop too look oh yes all right all right so here's an ab here's the measurer see that it's too small so you put them back so there you go they got to be that big across the widest part anyway it's good fun [Music] [Music] if you have a look have a look that way you'll see the pointer and jenny out on the point in here just around the corner is a little place called magazine bay magazine bay but let's have a look just up here there's a little cave where the kids can jump up there and have a look and you can swim just out the front on days like today have a look at this water he's out of control so we're gonna pull up and um have a swim make some lunch on the beach then we'll have an early arvo buddy all right dear i'll leave you to lunch making duties yep i'll go cave exploring with the kids what a spot to pull up check it in the background it's mad anyway up we go we're going to run with the kids what a great view look at that hi mom you want to sleep in here you can i'm sleeping in the caribbean do you want to sleep in here we can bring the squads over check it [Music] all right come in and check out what we ended up with for the day so a couple hours out from point turt this morning we ended up with six squid two abalone and ten scallops we could have got heaps of abs but to be honest we don't really we've never eaten them before so we're just gonna have a couple and see if we like it um and we know where to go and get some more if they're bloody delicious so scallops calamari and uh a few abs for dinner remember you happy with that steaks i caught the biggest squid this is gourmet okay look at that using up all my ham it goes out of date tomorrow oh really yeah how did it smell isn't that slimy and gross no it's all right there any cucumber in the salad i don't have all right you left over salad from last night in a bit of a paradise for lunch have a look at that i'll tell you what do you've outdone yourself today stop it making it like i can't do anything no i'm not just saying very well done it's so easy all you do is pack some wraps and gone ski here happy days really can i grab it i might even cook you dinner tonight you i know exactly what you're cooking me tonight oh buddy seafood dish a bloody seafood dish avaloni and scallops and gonna calamari a fair mission for one i've never had abalone or cooked it two i think scallops will be easy i'll be able to just put them in on the barbie with a bit of garlic butter in their shells and the squid's easy too for the abalone i might have to use the old google chef figure out how to do it well that's our day done on the water and i am pooped again i'll tell you what something about being in the boat in the sun swimming around just takes it out here we are gonna have a very relaxing afternoon i told the kids i'm putting on a movie it's i think it's a top of 37 degrees or something today it's quite hot it's beautiful though it's nice it's nice out on the water but i reckon once we get to the van um the kids are going to be pooped so it's a bit of a movie elbow so here it is you can see the caribbean park in the background the marina and the boat ranch just inside so we love it here he's so good we've only shown your point turn wait till we get out and explore the area a bit we got these as well we do it's abalone first time we've ever had an abalone are you gonna try some so we're going to get we're going to get the caravan park ready to teach us how to clean it and eat it and we'll see if we like it i can guarantee you'll like the scallops yeah i love the scallops oh absolutely anyway that's it see ya another day down and dusted down keep going one more happy days [Music] [Applause] what do you reckon about this true i've never been on a tandem bike before it's a little bit sketchy especially one-handed front hole to gopro but this there's a mad little walking trail bike path from the caribbean park takes you down along the water pretty average day today but on a good day that's so blue out there it just looks awesome and i'll show you when we get there there's like a little nature playground and like a bmx track so if your kids have got bikes bring them down here and have a crack how good is it like up the hill oh mate it's he's easier when you're pedaling then i don't have to do anything at all thanks grass hey you're gonna pedal all the way back up the hill aren't you no ah i don't know how far it is actually i thought we'd be there by now but we're not and here you go here's the bike track check it it runs around up the back there and there's like a little nature playground over here you do let's go look at that even somewhere for mum and dad to park up and have a barbie too oh there you go oh gosh we made it roo we didn't crash oh look there's a big slide up there too oh look at that awesome if you notice we've got a smile on our face because we are about to cook dinner and we're having the guys from the park up here malcolm and danny run this caravan park here at point turton and well malcolm's been kind enough to take me out and show me where and how to catch the local fish and everything else around here so we're going to cook up a feed i just want to show you this before we get outside and cook it all have a look at all this fresh seafood mate this is only the half of it i've got crabs in the esky but i've got scallops there with garlic butter malcolm's got some more he's bringing up we've got fresh king george whiting from this morning done in tendaco like a fish rub we've got crumb calamari i've got marinated calamari and sweet chili i'll do with a barbie i've got some beer battered calamari rings for the kids and i've got some abalone that i crummed up and done i'm pretty sure you're gonna love this i don't reckon that's enough because i'm there is enough mate look at everything malcolm's got prawns and we've got crab i'm gonna normally ate those chips before now because now i don't have enough room well that's all the more for me mate anyway i'll um i'll show you as we cook it up outside before i'm quietly stoked this is our first go this is abalone i've crumbed it just like squid have a crack what do you reckon it's nice it's nice i really like it what do you reckon it's like it's like squid it is like sweet it's really good i actually think it's better than squid i like that better than the squid i actually think i like squid better yeah there you go i like that fish better um i want to show you something that i bought earlier in the year because i was getting a little bit ahead of myself thinking that yeah you know i'm going to catch a lot of fish so i'm going to have to store it in the freezer i'm doing a ride so far in south australia but what i did get is i've got a vacuum sealer uh usually we just like throw all our stuff in like sandwich bags squeeze the air out and chuck it in the freezer but i find that fish especially he sort of gets a bit of freezer burn and you want to try and i've been told by others we've met on the road a lot of oldies told me to get myself a vacuum sealer if we're going to store heaps of fish because you'll be able to pull it out of the freezer like months later and it'll still be schmick so i got one uh i just found one it's a dometic one i got it online um and i think it was 240 bucks or something i'll put it in down here but it comes like that you can run it off your 240 volt or your 12 volt it comes with a roller bags but i also bought like a heap more bags as well and then you can just cut them to whatever size you want yeah really loves this it's like a little knife thing that you slide it in but what i'll do here it is here we've just caught all this king george whiting um i'm just going to flat pack it like this in the freezer and then in little meal side or mill sized portions so i can get one out for me and back or if we're gonna have family fish tonight i can get two packs out um and i've also done the same with the squid look at those squid tubes how cool is that i love squid me too anyway i'm just gonna go through and bag up the rest of this squid i'll show you how it's done with this last one [Music] hear it load up keep sucking for about 20 seconds maybe not maybe 10 seconds and then it'll stop and it'll seal it and then once it's sealed it'll go and you just pop the side buttons and away you go look at that yeah all sealed in there all the air is taken out of it and then you can use this little knife here to um cut off the excess bag if you want to make it fit in your freezer look at it all squid king george can't wait i've also got a whole whole scotchie that i bought at the butcher that i'm going to do as well makes you fit heaps more in your freezer [Music] it's one of our favorite breaches in australia we're gonna have lunch it's called i call it flaherty's beach because it's floaty's beach but if you look across the bay that's point turtle over there so it's literally a five minute drive from where we're staying at the caribbean park and you wait till the sun comes out i might even get the drone up and show you a bit of footage there's just like these little gutters that lead all the way out it's low tide at the moment and it's just beautiful absolutely beautiful we love this spot it is a cracker and you can drive there on the beach you can park at the top if you want but you can drive down here cruise along we'll have some lunch and then go for a wander out there and i'll show you how how clear and how blue oh look it's coming out now sun's coming out it's so good but um i'm just got some leftover lamb i'm gonna have cold lamb and salad wraps with a bit of aioli on florida's beach beautiful happy days florida's beach bone flowers i found a jellyfish at that lamb cheese spinach tomato aioli a bit of avo totally wrong a good old wrap on the beach gluten-free wraps we use these ones all right it's actually a very rare occasion normally i get a slap on the wrist if i go near these she does actually she's allowed me today to eat one of her wraps like no don't use your normal wraps like they're expensive and oh and who pays for him true 50 50 mate how's it what's the old saying what's miners has what hers is hers sounds about right i know i've been right i don't know i'll be back [Music] [Applause] [Music] hmm have a look at this mate we're out early in the morning just me and malcolm this morning but um we're going to fish for a few king george whiting but i want to tell you a little bit of a trade secret or malcolm's going to anyway about trying to get the fish up off the bottom so what do we got here mate so we just got a bit of hate iron yeah then we bridal rig it slow us down then we just put like crab neck clip with a few squid on it just to get the scent down there and we just drop it down there and it slows us up on the drift oh there you go so that's going to sit on the bottom slow down our drift stir up a bit of sand and then we've got a bit of squid there for some stinks if we can't get a few whiting around it and we're in oh we're about seven meters of water yeah there you go so it's different for me huge difference to fishing for these rather than like queensland modding you just walk along the flats flicking sand worms and whatever else out here you're sort of bottom bashing and the same with the rig right have a look at this it's like a pat nosta bottom bashing rig with two hooks on it so there but i reckon we'll get a few best bait mate for king george what do you use goggles or squid cockles or squid so we're gonna try cockles this morning and malcolm was just telling me good idea don't throw your shells out over the side well they'll pick up on that scent as a burly trail and they won't follow your boat so that's pretty good i'll put a bet on who do you reckon i'll catch the first fish me or malcolm i know who my money's on it might be me i get heaps questions from you lot about what sort of gear i use and good stuff for the kids because i don't want to carry heaps of different gear i buy sort of half well not not super expensive gear but quality gear that i can use but soaking the kids uh so i just get shimano gear all the time they're just a quick fire combo i bought all my stuff online from anaconda uh just get it shipped to wherever we are i reckon if you have a look around they always seem to be the cheapest online anyway but i find it it's better to buy a combo like this that the adults can use than one of those you know like a 30 40 kids combo with already pre-wound mono and that by the time you go fishing with it first time you use it it all gets tangled your snappers aren't often it's just if you want to catch good fish you need half decent gear so it's worth investing a little bit of money these are only about oh nice pitch about 89 bucks and we're onto the first one look at this oh he's going hard too nice one [Laughter] hey what are you picking yeah oh i'm getting a bit of a tap too yeah tap tap tap puppy comes oh good fish look at it oh look under killer kilo she's 900 i'm getting a bit excited that's a five kilowatting have a look at him well i'll tell you what you want to hang onto them tight or they'll flick straight at the side of the boat on you that's meant now you got to you should you like bleed them or anything just slap them straight on a bit of ice mate here we go we'll give you a quick look we've got three in there now if i can get this off what um what's the boat limit for whiting mate 10 per person so 30. all right so we've got we're allowed 20 today there you go we've got 17 in the game there you go have a look at that not a bad little morning out the kids have come down to have a look malcolm's going to get a couple of knives and we're going to clean them out here so i'll get him to show me and you guys how to clean a king george properly and then you can do it yourself if you're lucky enough to get something i'm so happy with that mate have a look at this stonker here look at that he's doing other things he's gutted they are messed up so cool all right i'm gonna get malcolm to show you how to clean one so walk us through it mate so we're ripping the scales off him yeah the scale's off get up under the belly do you skin him no no so i actually start at the back run along so you chase it along the backbone so you're following all the way along right under that feet under that fin oh it's done that's a feeling as you feel it and then what you do is you cut out the rib cage [Music] that's going under there so that goes out and then in here you've got some bones that run along the middle there so you feel it with your finger to where they go to and then you just v them out then that's it no bones no nothing nothing oh look at that that's not way too crispy yes and what do you reckon best way just like a bit of flour and butter or what yeah you can do them either way you can do them flour and butter or you can do them egg and egg and breadcrumbs the same as your skin you're right oh we might crumb them but we'll have a bit of a variation what do you reckon yeah mix it up that's great sorry here you go all right we'll get into it we've got a few to clean mate okay i'll meet you at
