there's quite a bit of controversy when it comes to creality as a 3D printer manufacturer I think there's a lot of confusion with who exactly they target with their products I can assume that it's very easy for a lot of people to become misinformed by creality and caught in the cality misconception creality does not Market their 3D printers for the people who want to Tinker with 3D printers which makes absolute sense because a lot less people want to Tinker with 3D printers instead of just use them so by marketing to the larger audience they're naturally going to make more sales but the truth is these creality machines actually appeal most to the people who want to Tinker with them and the misconception lies with cr's marketing team they Market their printers for the wrong audience the underlying problem with all of this is that kity printers are not 100% calibrated or configured this means there's an extra step when the printer arrives aside from just taking it out of the box and setting it up you actually need to go into the configuration and calibrate the machine to actually print properly for people who don't know this they may be sold on the misconception that these printers are plug andplay without the additional setup but that's simply not the case as you're just not going to have decent results now the way to solve this is to root the machine which actually is not very complicated to do thanks to the new updates when kity released the K1 for example it was not open source but after an update the root accessibility has been enabled so now we can actually edit the configuration this gives every user the ability to calibrate the machine and actually make a print more accurately than it did when it shipped this becomes the better selling point for the city printers in my opinion there's nothing wrong with the hardware that City provides it's actually a very robust system it's simply the calibration and the configuration that cality ships the printer with so once we Overlook the default configuration the open source characteristic actually makes the 3D printer very appealing for a lot of users but the misconception lies with the marketing and how the printer is sold kity does not Market this printer as the hardware to get you going they Market this printer as the self-configuring automatic printer that works out of the box that's why I believe kity makes a mistake because users may find themselves with this Hardware that they don't know how to calibrate then there's a learning curve and either they figure it out or they fail now on this channel in the future I am going to be demonstrating enabling the root accessibility along with installing new web interfaces and and the configuration of the kity ke1 that I have right here along with the process of tuning the printer which is a crucial step to make it print more accurately although the cral support team isn't very responsive I have been able to get replies from them kity has expressed that they're willing to send me a new extruder part believing mine is defective but this makes me hesitant because it seems as though creality is more focused on creating a product and selling it instead of actually making sure the parts on the product are functioning properly it is very likely that people may have a defect of Hardware from City and not know it so either they live with a or how it is or they become frustrated and discard the machine in one of my previous videos I shared the expectations that I thought the crowny K1 failed to meet in that same video I made the suggestion to viewers to look into bamboo lab printers instead after having my hands on a bamboo lab printer I can assure you it is a different experience bamboo lab printers sell so well on the selling point that they are configured already which ultimately does save time for the user there's less time and resources used when calibrating a printer from bamboo lab in comparison to reality and it's already done for you but on the flip side you do have to pay the premium for that configuration for anyone who values their time and is not interested in calibrating a machine I would Advocate to look at bamboo printers however those who understand the capabilities of the hardware provided by creality and understand that it's open source can be configured it becomes a no- prinner not only are you saving money but you also have the ability to tweak the machine to make it print more accurately the open source characteristic and the ability to articulate the machine more is one the bamboo lab does not have and that's why some people avoid bamboo lab entirely while I understand why people may prefer a machine that's open source in the event the machine needs to be calibrated the Assumption becomes that bamboo printers are already calibrated and in my testing I found them to be very accurate I do believe that bamboo printers are plugg and play for this very reason there is no extra configuration you simply use them I believe bamboo lab does fill a hole in the market allowing users who are not interested in tinkering with 3D printers to get their hands on a 3D printer that still prints phenomenally well I personally know people who have decided not to get into 3D printing because of the rigorous calibration associated with it but with bamboo La printers it's already done now you just get to use the machine owning several cral machines and now getting my hands on a bamboo printer I can now confidently say that bamboo becomes my go-to when I need to 3D print things because the bamboo lab prints very well I can now focus more on designing and printing whereas printers like quity that require calibration take time away from me designing and printing there becomes an extra step to the process I understand why people would be concerned about bamboo lab printers being close Source because the ability to configure the machine does not exist but this does become less of an issue when the machine is already configured exceptionally well now if you have any questions about the bamboo printers or the CR printers let me know in the comments and stay tuned because I will be demonstrating the roote accessibility on the K K1 and on my channel I've already demonstrated a handful of comparisons between the bamboo La printer and the city printer if you haven't seen my previous video where I talked about the expectations the cality failed to meet make sure you check that out I also will be sharing my in-depth thoughts and experiences with the bamboo Le printer coming soon thank you so much for watching I will see you next time
