The STRONGEST Bender of Each Style EXPLAINED

in life there are people who are the greatest at what they do but being the greatest is something doesn't mean you get some crazy title you can be the greatest at holding your breath while juggling bowling pins you can be the greatest at yelling into a microphone about anime topics and neither of those titles are gonna get you very far but there are things in this world and in the anime worlds that being the greatest at will definitely help you in the long run being the greatest at explaining to people why they should kill themselves is what Naruto is the greatest at and look at how far that got him he's the Hokage now being the greatest at kicking kittens is what gon is the greatest act and well actually that didn't get him too far but what about being the greatest at bending an element in the Avatar Universe now that's the kind of thing that would hold some weight that's the kind of thing that could definitely come in handy and that's the kind of thing we're gonna be talking about today because today we're gonna be talking about the greatest Benders of every single element in Avatar but I know what you're saying you're saying Mick we're only going to talk about four Bender sitting it's gonna be a short video just why outside of telling you who was the best at pending the big four elements I'm also going to tell you who is the best at bending the subclasses of these elements so while we're going to talk about who is the greatest waterbender of all time we're also going to talk about who was the greatest bloodbender of all time who was the best healer using water bending we're actually going to talk about Earth bending we're also going to talk about metal benting and lava bending and so on and so forth so we actually got a fair amount of Benders to talk because while we're trying to get toff's voice actress on it somebody won't send a DM so that I'm trying to break this up into as many sub categories as possible is because at the end of the day a lot of bending styles are broken up into a lot of different needs see if we're talking about raw power the strongest water bender on Earth is easily among Amon is able to blood Bend without there even being a full moon and on top of blood bending he can Chi block but just because the monkey blood Bend without there being a full moon does that make him the greatest water bender of all time I don't think so it certainly makes him the greatest bloodbender of all time but not the greatest water bender that actually leads us beautifully into the first category we're going to be talking about water bending see there's a lot of incredible waterbenders through atla and The Legend of Korra there's almond kataro unalak Haku yakone all incredible water bending in their own right so what do I identify as the subclasses of watermen well there's things like plant bending and spirit bending and healing and blood venting and then just straight up water bending so what we're going to do is we're going to go through the subcategories and we're gonna shout out all of the Benders who win certain subcategories and then we're going to try and take into account all of these subcategories and everything you can do with a certain bending style and say who I think is the best most well-rounded Bender of a certain category so when it comes down to plant venting the answer is relatively obvious we were introduced to plant vendors in the fourth episode of the second book of Avatar where the Avatar gang stumbled into the swamp and it's in the swamp we were introduced to our first ever plant Bender Who see who plant bends plants in a way very similar to how bloodbenders Bend humans he bends the water in the incredibly saturated roots of all of the plants in the swamp and he's mastered this technique to a level that people believe that he's actually bending the vines themselves as he has so much control and versatility with the movements he's able to pull off then using this technique he would surround his body with vines to make himself into a large vine monster and with the help of this form he was able to scare people away from the swamp but he's able to cover himself in things other than Vines as we also once saw him cover himself in seaweed and the seaweed suit was strong enough he was able to destroy Tundra tanks with it and since he's using incredibly saturated plants to make himself a mech suit this mech suit is incredibly resistant to fire attacks next up in the subcategories is Spirit bending now Spirit bending is a bit of a weird entry here see in order to spear Ben Chief unalak had to combine spiritual energy with the healing properties of water bending which allowed him to essentially bend the energy in spirit which we see Chief Unilock used to quell the anger within spirits to stop them from attacking the northern water tribe however Chief unalak can also create imbalance within Spirits can Trump up the negative energy in a spirit to make them destructive and it's said by Chief unalak if this practice was applied to humans he could destroy their soul in this capacity Spirit bending is very similar to energy bending however Spirit bending doesn't take away your bending ability but now let's get into the real subcategories of water bending like healing healing is one of the most important things a waterbender can do well obviously there's waterbenders with have the ability to blood Bend or create massive tsunamis that take out entire warships water bending is the only out of the four bending styles that has the ability to heal and when it comes to Healing using water bending well there's nobody who even matches up to Katara see a waterbender is able to heal somebody else by manipulating the chi paths in their body Katara accidentally realized she had this ability when Aang burned her while practicing Firebender and she further trained in this ability in the northern water tribe with yogada and after this bout of training Katara got to the point where she could heal basically any minor or borderline major injury with the use of her waterbed like Aang's burn that he got after fighting Admiral Zhao or quite literally bringing Aang back to life after he got hit by lightning she also fused her father's spine back together and allowed him to walk after he got hit by a Ballista and she was also able to save Zuko after he was struck by lightning a guitar continued to work on her healing as she progressed into adult eventually becoming known as the best in the world but enough about healing people what about killing them very effectively well that would be blood bending and when it comes down to blood bending the world's greatest bloodbender is quite obviously a mon Amman also known as nolatak is the antagonist of season one of the Legend of Korra Amon learned to blood Bend with just his brain at an incredibly young age which makes sense because of the fact that his father was yakune who was also a very talented bloodbender however Amman could do more than just blood bent like I stated he could blood Bend just using his brain but he also had the ability to Chi block therefore stopping other people's bending but he took it even one step further beyond that because after he would blood Bend somebody he could walk up to them and remove their Benton he does this not through energy bending but simply through the manipulation of somebody's Chi by using blood bending so he doesn't have to enter the energy struggle that Aang and Cora have to enter in order to wipe somebody's bending away but Amman only ever blood bends we very rarely if maybe never actually see him water bend which is why when it comes down to it even if in a battle a moon would probably defeat Katara outside of a full moon Qatar is probably the Great latest waterbender of all time Qatar symbolizes mastering everything in water bending at an incredibly high level we saw the Katara during a full moon was very easily able to blood Bend and at a very high level she was also able to manipulate the temperature of water being able to freeze soldiers in place you could use water offensively or defensively and with the use of her spirit water in her vial she could heal basically any injury now obviously Cora was also an incredible waterbender but Cora mastered all of the elements at such a young age that she tended to lean on other things outside of water bending fairly often and thus while she didn't have the ability to spear Bend Like Chief unalak and battle like a mon she's not the greatest in any of these categories and thus I'm going with Katara after water bending we're going to talk about air bending we're going in reverse order we're gonna go water air fire earth you see what I'm doing here now air only has two sub-categories flight and spirit projection and while for a long time there wasn't a whole lot of Airbenders around to battle Aang for the title of greatest Airbender Cora saw to that as a Legend of Korra gave us people like Tenzin Zahir and Genora who at all give Ang a pretty good run for his money and ironically and this might be an unpopular opinion but the person who gives Aang the best run for his money out of the Legend of Korra isn't the popular pick tends in his son but Genera tenzin's daughter see one of the things that people say to tell you that Aang is a genius of airbending is that he got his tattoos at 12. but here's the thing Genora got her tattoos at 11. and Aang was considered a genius so Genora getting her tattoos younger than that genius means she might be an even greater genius see the reason that Genora wins the spiritual projection subcategories because she invented it Genera is able to combine her air bending with her spiritual power to project her soul out of her body and while she's in the spirit form she's able to phase through objects and travel incredible distances in a matter of seconds and in this form she's able to identify and track people's spiritual presence and get to them way faster than she ever could in her physical body but is the fact that she can use this spiritual projection when we never see Aang do it mean that she's a greater Airbender well it's either that or that she has a greater connection to her spiritual energy which would be saying a lot when we consider the fact that Aang is one of the most connected spiritually avatars of all time and that an Avatar's entire purpose in life is to be the connection between the spirit world in the real world however Genora by being connected to her spirit energy and by utilizing her air bending is able to guide people to the spirit world meaning her connection to the spirit world is just as good as that of her Avatar grandfather now when it comes to flight even though Aang had his air scooter and his glider he never mastered the actual principle of flight see there's only ever technically been two Airbenders to master flight and they existed 4 000 years apart the first Airbender to ever Master flying was Guru lagima however the second Airbender to ever Master flight was Zahir who after severing all of his Earthly connections finally launched himself off a mountain and with Korra over his shoulder began flight not only could Zahir fly but also launch airbending attacks while mid-flight but does the fact that Zahir mastered flight something that we never saw from Aang make him the greatest Airbender of all time no because we're talking about well-roundedness here and when it comes down to well-roundedness there is no greater Airbender than Avatar Aang even talking about Aang outside of the capabilities of his Avatar State just as an Airbender Aang is the greatest to ever do it he is the second youngest person person to ever be considered an air bending Master getting his tattoos at 12. and he acquired his tattoos because he created an air bending technique that had never been used before similar to how Guru lagima created flight and created the air scooter which just like lagima allowed Aang to travel at high speeds with little effort and while the air scooter might seem like a childish invention and uses it to great effect multiple times and even though Aang was an avatar and could Bend all four elements he used air more than anything now this is mostly because air bending is the least deadly out of all the bending Styles and Aang is a pacifist Aang has been shown using his air bending to create entire tornadoes or gusts of wind heavy enough to carry entire Tundra tanks up into the air but more often than not Ang uses his air bending for transportation or evasion as Aang with the use of his glider or his air scooter is faster than most of the people in the universe and is able to dodge fire water Earth anything thrown at him and at the end of the day with the use of his air bending is incredibly squirrely but can also be incredibly deadly and for that I gotta say he's the greatest Airbender we've ever seen I mean the man-made then mastered a new air bending Prince and we saw in the flashback when he took yokones bending that yokone had a massive head start on him but all I had to do was summon his air scooter and rip right on over to him and not to mention that in his Avatar State he was able to erode and blow away entire rocks simply with a gust of air do you know how hard you have to shoot air to break apart Rock but enough about the pacifist bending style let's talk about the warmongering bending style fire iron bending has two subcategories combustion and lightning both of which some of the strongest bending Styles in the world if you master lightning and or combustion bending you are one of the deadliest people in the Avatar universe so when it comes down to lightning bending who's the greatest well I'd have to give that Merit to fire lord ozai see ozai is one of the few firebenders of his generation with the ability to bend lightning however even amongst the other firebenders who are were able to generate or redirect lightning he is the greatest see fire alert ozai is the only lightning Bender with the ability to generate lightning from both hands simultaneously as other lightning Benders like Azula are only able to generate lightning with one hand at a time this means that ozai is able to fire lightning in two separate directions or just hit you twice which is overkill on top of this when it comes to lightning bending ozai has the least charge of time of anybody in One Fell Swoop of this movement he's shooting lightning into your chest we even saw him do this on the day of the black Sun even though the eclipse should have been significantly nerfing all fire bending everywhere the second that the sun peeked behind the moon just a little bit ozai started firing lightning and when his abilities were enhanced by sozin's Comet he was able to shoot lightning further than we've ever seen anyone before now when it comes to combustion bending there's only two people to consider it's either combustion man or pilai and now both of these combustion vendors had the exact same set of abilities and I in their forehead that shoots a or that explodes upon contact he lost combustion bending operated a bit differently than combustion man see well combustion man is absolutely able to fire a condensed beam of heat that explodes upon contact he can only do so in a straight line while pilai is able to curve her combustion beams giving her a massive amount more of Versatility there's no hiding behind a wall when you're battling against her she's just gonna curve it around the wall and then you're done and both combustion man and pilai share the weakness that if their eye is hit their Chi is disrupted and they can no longer fire beams correctly but being hit in this eye actually disrupted combustion man's Chi to such a level that when he tried to fire a beam it backfired and killed him while p-li being hit in this spot simply disrupts her Chi to the point where she can't fire a combustion beam though the way that she died was no better as she just tried to fire a combustion beam while metal was wrapped around her head and ended up well jfking herself I am just now remembering that they call her plea not pilai been a while since I watched Cora when it comes down to it taking all of these things into account who is the greatest Firebender of all time Uncle Ira yeah it's not firelord ozai see in straight up fire bending Uncle iro before he even began his journey to Enlightenment was one of the strongest firebenders of all time being hailed as the dragon of the West as he could breathe fire and was said to have slain The Last Dragon himself Uncle iro led the sack of bossing Saiyan was the first person to ever breach the wall in fact it was believed that he was the only person outside of an avatar who could defeat Fire Lord oza to ozai builds his fire bending based off anger iro built it on understanding the iro unlike ozai decided to go to the dragons in learn Fire bending from them and by learning from the teachings of the sun Warriors he was able to better adapt his fire bending into a more versatile style but this wasn't until after he had destroyed the wall of bossing save with a concentrated heat blast it was during the second bossing say when he lost his son that he realized he needed to travel the world he needed to learn other perspectives and on top of this even though firelord ozai is able to generate lightning from two hands Ira was still absolutely able to generate lightning however instead of generating it from a place of hatred and anger I regenerates it from a place of Peace but Uncle iro just like Aang also innovated fire bending after the loss of his son Uncle iro began to travel through all of the countries and began to realize that the fire bending Nation wasn't the great nation that he had believed it to be by observing waterbenders in the fluidity and Qi management that they need to bend water iro taught himself how to redirect lightning and through this understanding of the flow of Qi and the fluidity of Life once again iro took another step forward as a Firebender and while his ability to spew fire out of his mouth is not specific to him we've never really seen anybody do it at the level that he can we've seen Uncle iro defeat Imperial firebenders and Azula simultaneously four earth-bending guards in Admiral Zhao trained earthbenders while he was in shackles in many many others well the public perception might tell you that ozai is the greatest fire bender we've ever seen that's because we saw ozai during sozin's Comet and when you consider the fact that Uncle Ira was the first Firebender in history to be able to punch a hole in bossing say you gotta go with the uncle which brings us to our last category earthbending now Earth winding has four sub-categories and dwell for a while the sandbenders of xiwang desert were the greatest sandbenders out there tough upon seeing that you could Bend sand quickly became the best sand Bender out there see those live in the siwang desert create miniature sandstorms behind wooden Sailors that propel them at massive speeds and because of this they're able to travel across the desert with relative ease and now will any earthbender can send Bend because of the way that sand is gritty and loose in nature it's actually very hard for your average earthbender to figure out sand bending but doff is not your average earthbender so after Opera is stolen and then recaptured off begins to practice her sand bending being able to do things that only incredibly experienced sandbenders can do like increasing the density of sand to make it as hard as a brick or creating an incredibly detailed miniature version of bossing say Top's Mastery with sand bending was so immediate and so thorough that it's hard for me to say that anybody else is better than her in it that's also because I'm pretty sure we don't get any of the names of any of the characters in the c-1 desert so it's also kind of a cop-out but since we're talking about Toff we should talk about another Earth bending technique that she is the master of and that would be seismic sense I stomped my foot but you you can't see my foot I'm doing it now now seismic sentence was created by Toph because she can't see and seismic sense allows for earthbenders to feel everything around them be it people walls animals anything through vibrations they feel through their feet and this seismic sense allows Toff to essentially see to read the room around her to feel how large it is if it has doors if it has walls if there's people in it essentially it works like sonar but instead of being through water it works through Earth and metal now Toff wasn't technically the creator of this technique it was the badger moles but Toff learned from the badger moles who were also blind to use this technique the tough can do more than just see how tall somebody is or if there's a door in the room Top's perception of vibrations are so precise that you can see if somebody's lying or feeling the vibration that their heart is making while they're speaking and well obviously Lin Bay Fong toft's daughter also has the ability to use seismic sense Toff had to use it to just get around which makes me believe that Toff probably had a better handle over it than her daughter as her daughter can see but we're not quite done talking about tough yet because next up is metal bending this one tough didn't steal from the badger moles this one Toff made up herself one day when Toff was stuck in a cage that she no longer wanted to be into she realized that metal is also Earth and therefore she bent her way out of the cage she was explained to us since metal is made of ore which is just refined Earth that earthbender should be able to if they're skilled enough Bend metal and this is because all metal has impurities and these impurities are still considered Earth and therefore Toph was able to locate these impurities in the metal and bend these impurities and therefore bend the metal now this is especially impressive when you consider the fact that Toff was the first ever person to metal bend not even avatars were ever able to do it and while in the beginning of her metal bending career Toff needed to come into contact with the metal that she was bending slowly but surely that was no longer the case a good example of this is in wulong Forest when Toff bends down the door in a fire Airship jumps onto the ground bends a bunch of metal around her like she's Tony Stark and then while having the suit of armor essentially proceeds to bend all of the metal in the control room now the reason that this is insane is because in order to move in a suit made of armor that has no hinges you need to bend the metal with you every single time you move so Not only was top bending the metal of her suit she was also bending the metal outside of her suit and then in the comics we saw that Toff created a metal bending school and in the comics we learned that Toff had the ability to bend any metal that she could see which he demonstrates by unscrewing the wheels of Fire Nation tanks that she is very far away from and then after founding the metal bending school Toff created in Legend of Korra a metal bending police force which after tops retirement was led by her daughter Lynn we also see in season 4 episode 10 that one of the most talented metal Benders on Earth kuvira didn't want to fight Toff because she knew that Toff was the better metal bender and many would say that kuvira is the most talented metal bender outside of tall so the fact that kuvira understood that Toff was so much greater than her as a metal bender that fighting her would be pointless speaks to the fact that when it comes down to metal bending tough as the goat however Toff and Oliver greatness was never able to bend pure metals like Platinum though when it came to finding Trace Amounts of impurity or metals that she could Bend in metals there was nobody greater than taut in fact it's admitted that even her daughters weren't able to find the level of impurity to bend in metals that Toff was meaning that Toff could bend a much wider variety of medals than even her daughters in fact Toff at the peak of her power was so proficient at metal bending that she could rip a hole in a metal wall and then put it back and make it look as though it had never been touched in the first place complete in utter Mastery over metal but enough about Metal bending let's get to the last subcategory of Earth bending lava bending we've only ever seen two people that weren't avatars use lava painting and that is gazan and bolet but who said we couldn't put avatars on this list I mean Aang's already on it and therefore the greatest lava Bender in the history of Avatar is svedo who is svedo you ask that's actually a really good question svato is one of the most forgotten avatars in the history of Avatar and that's because svedo actually wasn't even really an avatar see what most avatars travel the world and learn every different type of bending but was born as an avatar in the Fire Nation during an incredibly perilous time in the fire nation's history and therefore instead of traveling around and learning all the bending natures and becoming a tune with nature svato stayed in the Fire Nation it actually just became a bureaucrat and later an advisor to the fire lord as far as avatars go he's one of the least impressive this of course until you see the photo of him bending lava out of four volcanoes simultaneously mind you what killed Avatar Roku was the fact that he couldn't stop the lava coming out of one volcano in sedo in the one photo we have of him bending is bending four volcanoes simultaneously which is a level of lava bending we haven't seen from anybody anytime anywhere though if I had to give this spot to somebody who had a name that people remembered I'd have to give it to Roku it's kind of where the two greatest lava Benders of all time were firebenders and get lava bending is a subclass of Earth bending whatever I'm not gonna think about it so an abunder of all time well it's the person who won half of the categories that we listed it tough between her Mastery oversized makes sense metal bending and just straight up Earth bending there is no earthbender in history who's coming close to Tom the only person who gives Toff a legitimate run for her money as an earthbender is boomy as a prime boomi was able to pretty much single-handedly recapture a mashu from the Fire Nation though this was done on the day of the black Sun but unfortunately we don't know nearly enough about boomi's prime to put him over Toth whose Prime we very much got to witness Toff just like Uncle iro learned her bending style from the original Benders the badger moles but she took it one step further than even what the badger moles are capable of pulling off Hoff taught herself seismic sense that she learned from the badger moles she became one of the most versatile and Powerful earthbenders of all time and when she wanted to learn how to bend metal you better believe she figured it out when it comes down to it the only aspect of Earth bending that we never saw tough master was lava bed though if her immediate Mastery of sand bending is the indication of anything I believe that you would be able to master lava bending with relative ease not to mention that her seismic sense gives her a better perception of what's going on in battle than most people have as you can see in 360 Degrees constantly the only real weakness that Toff has is her blindness as people who are light on their feet or have the ability to float or fly are basically invisible to her it's actually fun fact why she calls Aang twinkle toes and that's it the greatest Benders of every style that I didn't really get into but they're not that interesting and we've only ever seen what two people energy Bend yeah that's it the greatest Benders of every element do you guys agree with my list do you wish I put more Legend of core people on there because I think I went all atla across the board Toff iro Ang Katara God damn it I did listen I love Legend of Korra I just I might have a slight bias but at the same time I feel like you guys are going to agree with me and if you do tell me in the comments below and if you don't oh tell me in the comments below but
