A Stardew Valley Iceberg Explained

[Music] welcome to the stardew valley iceberg [Music] if you know what an iceberg is let me explain really quickly basically you can think of an iceberg as a tier list of sorts the top of the iceberg is stuff that is very well known and many people know about it whereas the bottom is pretty obscure and not as well known but that out of the way let's get right into it lewis plus martin this one's pretty basic and well known essentially the theory is that the town mayor lewis and marty are in some sort of secret relationship that they are hiding from the town this is confirmed when you get a cut scene when you reach 600 with the both of them where they are discussing whether or not to tell the town about their secret relationship you get a pop-up box and you can decide whether or not to tell the town there's some small differences after that but it's pretty similar purple shorts this one is directly tied the previous one and it's about a quest that requires you to retrieve lewis's shorts from marnie's room this is like essentially tying to the previous one but it's pretty well known and documented so i'm not going to dwell on it very long strange capsule is an event that has a small chance of appearing something like 1 but as of the 1.5 update it is made and made much more common the only requirement for this event to happen is that you have some tiles open on your farm and during the night you will hear a ufo sound and the next morning the strange caps will appear on your farm and then after that you have um another very small chance to have a cut scene of some sort of creature running by again this is already pretty widely known but that's why it's at the top of the iceberg basically if you plant a three by three of certain crops i'll show the crops on screen right now there's a chance for them to turn into like a massive mega crop that gives you a bunch of extra versions of it and if you can't seem to get one of them but you really want it you can continue watering the crops after they're ready for harvest and you have another chance to get them another one that is slightly less known but still interesting is blue chickens when you buy a chicken the chicken is a random color when you reach eight hearts of the chain the chicken has a chance to become blue dwarf versus cropus when you reach a certain friendship level with both of them a cutscene can trigger between them which shows them fighting and the dwarf says that krobus's people killed the dwarf people so it seems that in the past there's some sort of war between these two creatures and this is supported by the fact that there's dwarf scrolls like all over the map you can get them from artifact spots from in the mines so another interesting little tidbit item id glitch this entry is pretty well known it just refers to the glitch where if you put an item id in your name and speak to npcs if they say your name you will get the items it's like pretty well known glitch i'll link a video down below that goes a bit more in depth into it grotto empire this seems to be some sort of empire that many npcs have referred to in the game they're in some sort of conflict against the ferngill republic some quotes about them from npcs in stardew valley include i've heard some terrible things about the grotto empire and dad was telling me about our national enemy the grotto empire they seem like a ruthless bunch the empire is also mentioned in two books in the museum according to the wiki it is located to the south of the beach animals eaten i'm not really sure what this is referring to my only guess is that it could be referring to um eric brony potentially adding butchering to the game because in early demos you actually could but i honestly have no clue galaxy's slingshot is an unobtainable weapon that was probably going to be the sister weapon of the galaxy sword but for unknown reasons it was not added to the final game the juno plush is an item that can be attained by right clicking the bush above the playground at exactly 12 am this can only be done on the 28th of each month so a little fun fact if you want to get one for yourself pinky lemon is a statue that could be obtained by placing a container of duck mayonnaise in a container in the back of the star job saloon starter valet being a game that has been worked on for almost a decade it has obviously gone through many graphic changes over the course of its development so if you're ever bored an interesting thing you can do is go through concerned absolute youtube channel see many old videos of gameplay that's actually what you're watching on screen right now it's pretty cool seeing how much the game's art style has evolved over time and gotten better very minor spoilers up ahead heads up one five four two three is referring to the code you enter in at the mermaid show on the boats for a special reward hayley's super cucumber this is referring to a quest where haley requests a super cucumber and seems to be giving off some strange hint to say the least um kind of a funny entry quality quartz in the original release of stardew valley 1.0 anything you picked up had a quality so you could actually get quality quartz iridium legend if you flawlessly catch a fish it ups the rarity once and if you flawlessly catch a legend fish it'll up the rarities you can get in theory and a radio quality legend fish it's insanely hard to do but it could happen in theory secret note 11. this is another you can dig up from artifacts boss and other things like that you can get in the mines and yeah it's standard places you can get artifact and it shows a photo of marnie well what i think is marty and some other younger person people have speculated that it's shane or jazz but it wouldn't make sense that it being jazz because well jazz is a child that photo looks like it's from a long time ago so that just doesn't really make sense but then again maybe time just doesn't pass normally in sourdough valley i don't know maybe i'm thinking too much into it uh i think that's just a cool easter egg we are cursed with too much iridium this is the message that is on the wall in skull cavern um some very talented people managed to translate it and the message is we are cursed with too much iridium this presumed that this is said by the slimes of the wizard and it really makes you think like how much deeper laura's story valley has that most people just don't even think about this is one that not a lot of people know about uh basically an ammo for the slingshot called explosive ammo of this and very very few people know that is actually extremely good for mining because one it explodes instantly on impact and two you can actually shoot it from long range so it's really quick if you need to grab a quick or if you're going for really really big depths in the uh skull caverns and it's also pretty affordable it's 300 gold per ammo same as cherry bombs so if you have a slingshot and money then i would definitely buy some secret stash the secret stash is an event that you get when you reach six hours with pierre you're not explicitly told what the stash is so it's open to interpretation but in the comments of the video that showcase the event a lot of people are speculating and it seems to be agreed that it's some sort of adult magazine or drugs so kind of a bit more adult cutscene in a generally pretty family-friendly game pretty interesting and i think it's pretty funny you also have the option whether or not to tell his wife so yeah just a fun little decision unfinished area this has actually been in the game for a while now since i think 1.0 so the original release of the game but it was not finished for some reason but basically above the train station well there's a rock that's blocking the way but when you reach 100 completion in the game the rocker moves you can go up there see a cute little cutscene talk to your wife or husband and it's just honestly a cool reward for 100 i'm not going to show footage of it on screen because you should see it yourself because it's honestly really sick [Music] 6 am festival exploit the 6 am festival exploit is when you try to enter the area where a festival is trying to be set up normally you can't enter like it'll give you a message saying they're getting set up please come back later but if you enter at exactly 6am which isn't normally possible in gameplay you'll have to use a mod or something to pause time you can actually get in so just a weird little glitch that obviously doesn't really matter because in normal gameplay there's no way you can get to the place where the festival takes part in like under a few seconds so just kind of a fun glitch sandy plus mr chi this is there that mr chi and sandy are together we're dating and it makes sense because mr cheese casino is in sandy shop seems to be a lot of theories about characters being together it's still interesting nonetheless which is swamp catfish this is basically referring to the fact that you can catch a catfish in the witch's swamp might be something more to this that i'm just missing but that's basically all i could find elliot's pen is an unattainable dagger that gives an insane boost of 154 speed for comparison the infinity dagger only gives plus one but it only deals one to three damage so it just attacks incredibly fast for some reason it wasn't added to the game though a little interesting item that would be cool if it was added ancient seed manipulation okay i have no idea how this like actually works in like game mechanics or coding but essentially you can do this very complicated and kind of confusing layout for seed makers and when you put normal crops in they'll basically always turn into ancient seeds i have no idea how this actually works but for my understanding we essentially manipulate the game rng because normally agencies only have a 0.5 chance of turning a normal random seed you put into it into an asian seed i don't really understand how it works so i'm gonna link a video below explaining it more angry moon face the angry moon faces a little easter egg you can see in the loading screen when you sell something in the shipping bin maybe i'm looking a little bit too deep into it but it kind of looks like the evil moon from majora's mask the legend of zelda game c a well thanks we book concerned ape if you don't know concerned ape is the creator of stardew valley uh in your favorites tab when you're creating your character get a cool little message from him while saying well thanks when you find star drop so cool little easter egg and a good idea if you don't know what to put in your favorites tab cow multi milk the cow multi milk is a glitch that involves starting to milk a cow animation canceling and then doing it again allowing you to gain infinite relationship xp with the cow making it so you get higher quality milk and etc i don't actually know how to animation cancel so i'll try to find a video down below and link it explaining how to do it kind of overpowered so if you want to play legit save i probably wouldn't do it but see not ocean the body of water below the town is often called the ocean but ironically its real name is the gem c just a little dialogue that i don't know i think it's kind of funny skull caverns wrong warp skull caverns wrong warp is a weird glitch that involves the treasure levels on skull cavern so every once in a while you'll get a level with a chest that gives you some useful item but for some reason if you go up to about where the elevator is located in the normal mines and like right click the wall you can actually access the normal elevator and teleport back to the mine it's a really weird glitch the only like reason i can imagine it happening is some sort of code reusing from the normal caverns it's really weird but kind of an interesting glitch i'm actually not sure if it's patched so if you want to try it go for it version downgrade is a method used for downgrading your game for speed running so you can do like other categories or glitches that are only available in certain versions etc i want to explain how to do it here because frankly i don't think that'd be very interesting but i'll leave an article or reddit post down below explaining how to do it if you're interested wizards maze at spirits eve above the maze you can see the wizard and line is standing up on the cliff there's actually no way to reach them without an out of bounds mod but some people well got the mod and went over there to see what they had to say and the dialogue is very interesting to say the least some of his dialogue lines include the affairs of mundane folk matter little to me but the elements like a chance to see you up close i'm kind of confused on what he's talking about he's talking about linus or the players i don't really know and another quote is it was for them i could the silly little maze um again i don't understand at least talking about the elementals or for the players one more quote is from linus this time is good show old friend this obviously suggests that line as well he had some sort of magic powers but lost them for unknown reasons might be why he lives in the tent because if you've looked someone's dialogue he obviously lives out there by choice so he lost his powers for some reason moved out to the tent maybe but he's still friends with the wizard i i honestly don't know gate bomb warp this is a really weird glitch that involves you placing a fence on floor 120 of the normal mines and then blowing it up with a bomb and for some reason that teleports you to floor one of skull caverns it's absolutely bizarre but it was a really handy glitch actually because before the desert totems you have to wait for pam to get to the bus you could go to the desert for skull cavern ones and she only got there at 9 30 if you blocked her so it was kind of annoying to get there if you wanted to get really deep runs but glitch i think is patched then even if it wasn't it would also be pretty useless because we have the totems and that big thing that teleports us to the desert whenever we want so kind of pointless now [Music] 18 eggs on spring 13 every year an event takes place called the egg festival it's useful for many reasons some of which being you can buy strawberries which is the best spring crop you can get a rare krill there's also a fun event called the egg hunt essentially eggs are scattered all over the town and the player has to run around and find them and the maximum score you can get in that mini game is 18. i don't even know if that's actually possible without modding or cheating somehow the highest i've ever gotten is 10 so if you've ever gotten an 18 tell me in the comments down below and if it is possible to do legit without mods there should be some sort of special reward 100 because it sounds very difficult to do bus to comatose for basically every single popular media series they are legally obligated to have some sort of theory about the main character being in a coma of course starter valley has one the theory is that well when you first repair your bus and you're driving to the desert get in some sort of accident and get in a coma because when you first get to the desert that's when more weird stuff starts happening like supernatural et cetera so i mean it kind of makes sense like keyword kind of just like every single theory so it's almost certainly not true but kind of interesting nonetheless i guess they never miss huh he's in reference to a popular speedrunner who always seems to get hit by the slime slowing effect even though it only has a 33 chance of it happening or it could be talking about the tick tock louis passout machine you've probably never even thought about this but why do we pass out at 2am we're adults we can stay up later come on game mechanics of the game functions absolutely no chance the real answer is that mayor lewis has some sort of secret machine inside of his house or maybe you can flick a button click a lever and everyone in the town just passes out we haven't been able to find this machine but come on it's the only logical explanation gotta find it someday guys slingshot mushroom farming was a method of farming mushrooms in the mine i'll give a quick rundown of it right now basically when you have an empty slingshot in your current inventory slot and pick up a mushroom that is no animation and instantly picks up this allows you to find mushrooms very fast and pick them up even faster you can form insane amounts of money per day this is sadly patched in the 1.5 update but it's a cool piece of history that not a lot of people know about yandere jazz i think this is talking about the mod that was created that turns the character jazz into a yandere i don't really know what this means specifically but it's something to do with anime the whole mod is just weird and kind of unsettling so if you want to play it leave a link down below to download it not really my thing but if it's yours no judgment juno gunther this there is a little bit weird and kind of out of left field but basically the theory is that gunther is actually like an imposter okay that's what out of the way uh but it says that gunther is actually somehow made up of junomo's and i mean like kind of makes sense you know those are collectors of things because like you know the community center right so it kind of makes sense for them to run the museum except gunther can speak like out loud in english and i don't think juniors can do that so i i don't really think he is one but it's an interesting theory basically don't look too far into this one or pretty much falls apart but interesting theory nonetheless winter 28 year zero the day you start is on spring first right and you arrived on winter 28 year zero because you slept through so therefore it's spring one right except in the cutscene where you were talking to robert and lewis there's no snow on the ground obviously so i don't really know i guess this is kind of some sort of mistake it's not a huge deal just kind of interesting that people are noticing this um yeah it's kind of something fun to think about really [Music] wow so the video is done i guess that's amazing thank you so
