250 FPS Call of Duty Warzone ultra settings with the 7800 X 3D guys it is finally here I have genuinely been waiting I was going to say ages I mean it is quite a long time ever since the AMD ryzen 7000 launch for this this is the 7800 X 3D and I think it's fair to say that this should be the best gaming CPU that you can buy and essentially the way that this works is that the cores are accelerated with 3D V cash that gives them extra performance in single threaded applications like gaming so I say grab our brand stinking new chip and build ourselves a pretty epic little gaming PC and one with a little twist that some of you are absolutely going to love and others are gonna literally be sick on your screen and you're gonna hate it let's get gaming and build ourselves a brand new PC after a shot word from this video sponsor Corsair murals is the ultimate way to get the RGB setups of your dreams with murals you can sync together your Corsair components and peripherals for a truly stopping display but now you can even integrate with both Philips Hue and nanoleaf you can create different effects based on Colors audio or even your gameplay thanks to monitor capture the end result is crazy download Corsair IQ for free and get started with murals today okay then Centric what's the twist I've been waiting I've been waiting I've set through the advert what is it today we're doing no RGB well obviously because we're going for ryzen we are going to need a brand new am5 board the one that we've got here is from ASRock it's the x670e PG lightning and the reason I'm using this is because it's high end but it's about as affordable high-end as you can actually get as work boards tend to be a little bit cheaper granted they're not always the best but this is available for around about 300 pounds here in the UK whereas if you compare it to even something like the Asus tough that's not a particularly high-end x670e board that is about 350 pounds so you're saving 50 Quid before you can get started and in theory the performance shouldn't be any different I think ASRock actually sent me this one when ryzen 7000 launched and I haven't actually used it yet which is why you've got all of these little stickers and things on it and I mean look you don't even get Wi-Fi for instance so there definitely are some Corners to be cut with this but that is the whole point as long as you're getting fairly similar performance and you're still getting all of the extra features of x670e does it really matter but for gamers this is still probably quite Overkill really as long as can actually call our CPU properly then to be honest I don't think it matters to most people I will double check by the way but I'm fairly sure that this additional PSI Gen 5 cooling module is actually sold separately the one that says blazing m.2 but editor Carl can put that as a little note this one has a tiny little fan on it that I have a feeling might make a bit of noise that would be annoying but if you want Gen 5 speeds you might have to go down this route but that's the motherboard anyway I know I know it's not that interesting you're here for this the 7800 X 3D and you're probably pondering at this stage why I'm describing this as potentially the world's fastest gaming CPU I mean I've said that loads of times this year alone loads of new things have been coming out but you've got to understand with this that it's optimized for gaming in a couple of different ways first one all of the eight cores are accelerated by the 3D V cache which is not the case with the higher end versions of this which are the 7900 and the 7950 x3d they actually have to do some provisioning so that half of the cores will take advantage of the 3D video cash and then half of them won't so the provisioning essentially says to games hey look you need to use this bit of the CPU ignore the wrist whereas this is pretty much accelerated out the gate you don't have to worry about optimizations and things you're still going to get extra performance with software updates and things like that but fundamentally it's going to be a lot easier for games to take advantage of this and you also get the benefit of the fact that both the Xbox and the PlayStation have a cause in it so in theory Games should be more optimized rate calls anyway let's open up this box and actually have a look at our CPU you don't actually get a caller inside which still does annoy me because I don't know why they need to make it this big it's just to make the product look better but I mean shall it be better for the environment if you made the boxes smaller but there you go look the 7 800 x 3D let's open up our top slot and actually get this installed very very simple stuff as I say we're not going to go through everything in fantastic detail today because we've essentially already made that video in the RTX 4090 RGB version of this you can find that video at the top right corner of your screen if you want to see all other details I suppose now let us move on to our memory and I'm afraid I've made a boo-boo I've let the side down I am so sorry about this but if we open up our Kingston Fury you will notice it's got RGB I know I know this is the worst thing that's ever happened on this channel but the reason for this is because the kit that I've got that is from g-skill and that would have been so good for this but it's actually downstairs in my personal gaming rig so I thought I'll go down there I'll borrow it for a few days it's fine but no once again even though we're not using one today clash of the radiators has come out and I couldn't actually remove the ram because it was sent so tight where the clearance on the radiator was rubbish and I'm like I'm not going to spend like half an hour an hour taking it apart putting it back together just for this video that would be stupid and honestly the amount of times that this stuff just happens to me goes on and on and on it's just some stupid Ram why do the radiators have to do this it's such a joke the videos take so much longer they take longer to take apart I get why they exist and I do actually like using them on the daily but honestly radiators are the worst I hate radiators I've got a love-hate relationship with them really not really any love though bloody stupid radiators if you can go for something like this please do because it's stupid anyway the ram that we are using today is actually 5600 megahertz and this has RGB lighting I would be tempted to go for a 6000 megahertz kit if you can purely because this as I say should be up there if not be the fastest gaming CPU you can buy so you don't want to limit this in any way I think 5600 megahertz probably isn't going to make any real difference versus 6000 but if there's not too much difference in the price then it is going to be worth going for this is a 32 gigabyte kit that I would actually suggest if you want to save yourself some money just going for 16 as well this will save yourself some money and it won't really make any difference to performance at all next up we're going to install our SSD and this is the latest and greatest from Samsung this this is the 990 Pro I do find that especially at launch this was definitely a little bit on the more expensive side you could get the 980 that isn't really that much slower for quite a bit less but the price of this has now started to come down a bit I mean as I say in pretty much every single one of these build videos don't buy a specific brand don't watch this video and think I need the 990 Pro do some shopping around because there's always so many different deals on one day it might be this the next it could be from crucial the next from Kingston it doesn't really matter buy one that's on sale and that's how to get the best value but I would go for PCI Gen 4 because the price difference isn't drastically different anymore let's get this installed which is fairly simple just remove the slot cover I mean is this boring Carl should we speed this up people think always before you've got people in the comments going no but also people go grab the SSD line it up and just drop it into place and then remove the cover back down and now I think it's time to actually put this inside our case as I said built in this a couple of weeks ago really really like it fantech's g500a but essentially this is almost like a bread and butter case it has everything that you need nothing really that you don't and while it's not the cheapest case in the Market at around about 110 pounds personally speaking that's probably about right for most people you want your case to last to look good and like this to have decent Cable Management pick up the motherboard drop into place screw into place I should have actually done this before I've screwed in the motherboard but not to worry it's not the end of the world we do need to install our CPU Cooler on top of the motherboard and the one that we've got here probably should show you is the dark Rock 4 and you can buy the Pro 4 but for this CPU I don't think it's going to make that much difference to be honest because it's extra money and this is actually running at a lower power especially compared to like some Intel comparisons about 120 watts to be precise when you compare that to like a i7 or I9 that could use up to like 250 Watts potentially you don't need as much cooling so the dark Rock 4 is one of my personal favorites and it definitely meets the blackout theme let's remove the default am5 mounting hardware drop these black posts on top AMD brackets on top screw down yours should come with thermal paste as standard but because I've used this quite a few times before I need to add my own just a small amount in the middle and we grab our cooler and just gently line this up with the CPU grab the little retention bar and just tuck this underneath and on top then just grab a screw and clamp this down then you're going to need the fan a couple of coat hangers lower the fan into place and just gently clip it on then just grab the fan power cable and plug it into the one that's labeled CPU fan at this stage we are very much getting there I've also plugged in all of the cables again other video explains everything but okay quick cheat sheet USB is over here HD audio power that was difficult wasn't it but of course this needs to be suitably high end at the moment there are no fans in here so I'm going with fantech's own T30 because these are pretty much some of the best fans you can buy and the only problem with them is that they don't have any lighting oh no what a shame and I have actually used one of these before but it was actually to stop one of my personal rigs from actually overheating because that was in like the small metalicious case you can find that video in the top right corner of your screen and essentially the problem with that was I needed an extra fan to stop everything from overheating around the motherboard area because there weren't any fans and this actually did a very good job because I wanted something that you couldn't see but something that had high performance you do actually have this little switch if you look underneath where we've got Advanced performance and hybrid and essentially all of these actually change the maximum fan speed so Advanced is 3 000 and hybrid is at 1200 so as these are just going to be case fans I'm going to put them in their hybrid mode but obviously you can control it all through like motherboard software and things anyway but just if you want to sort of limit them out the box so you didn't get really loud fans that's a good way of doing it let's pop the hood on this Ting remove our fan bracket line all of these fans up grab the fixing bars and place them on top then just screw these into place blackout PC coming along nicely these technically are gray but I mean allow it come on doesn't matter of course there is one more fan to go at the back this is a 120. you can put a 140 here though so if you want to maximize cooling potential that would make sense we're getting there we're certainly getting there a little bit of tidying up to do but I want to go into something a little bit more interesting now that is of course the GPU and this one was sent out by power color and true story there was a little bit of a faff with the Embargo when this came out and essentially I filmed a lovely like unboxing and first impressions of this card but it was unable to actually ever be published because it was before the Embargo yet it was after the AMD reference card embargo so it got a little bit lost bless it so it is time for the Red Devil to properly emerge that actually sounds quite scary doesn't it and this is the limited edition version of the card but I tend to find with power color you can actually get them usually for a bit more of an affordable price compared to the competition from like your asus's your gigabytes msi's purely just because I guess there's less brand recognition it is actually so silly because as long as the warranty is the same and the cooling is up to Snuff then there's no reason to like not consider any car to really you should take it on a case-by-case basis oh yes and this card also comes with this back plate in my limited edition I'm not sure whether you get one in the Box you can sort of 3D print your own and then assuming you've got it the way right round you can then add little customizable back plates to essentially make this look how you want and there are templates and things online if you've got your own 3D printer pretty cool but realistically I think most people are probably just going to use the default I mean I like it as it is let's pick up our 7900 XTX Red Devil and do my favorite bit which is lining this up with the slot and then giving it a good push till it clicks into place and all that's left to do now is to actually install our power supply and this is one I think is fantastic for a rig like this because again we're saving a little bit of money it's not the absolute highest end but it's from Big quiet you know it's reptable brand should last and should be fairly quiet as the name suggests but it's a 1000 watt fully modular Supply the pure power 11. if you're going for one of the latest Nvidia cards I would strongly recommend you look at getting a power supply that does have the PSI Gen 5 connector as standard as it's going to tidy up your rig and just make things a little bit easier but obviously if you haven't already noticed with these D cards they still use the old-fashioned eight pins that some people love but then I guess others don't really appreciate having so many big connections on the card itself which is the point of one single smaller one grab the power supply bracket and just gently lay this on top stuff it in there baby and then I think hey Presto we've done it and for once this is a rig that's not going to look dramatically different once we turn it on we will get a little bit of RGB and annoyingly we will have to download the software I think to disable it and of course an absolute little gem of going for a blackout rig is that you basically have a lot less cable management work to do because you don't have to worry about all of the extra cables for all of the RGB I mean I've just not plugged that stuff in but if you went for RGB fans you'd have a sort of daisy chain everything together to at least get it to be manageable and in some cases you actually have two different cables per fan one for RGB one for fan speed but here we've Daisy's changed these three together as standard one at the back so that's just two cables for the fans rather than what worst case eight for this plus an extra box to control it all pretty unnecessary well let's grab ourselves a monitor the PC Centric mouse mat available at pccentric dot store keyboard and mouse let's do it there we go and that is unusual there's still RGB it's still there I don't think I've built a computer without any Lighting on it for so long especially bear in mind the PC Is So Silent as well like you barely know it was on but we're in and it's the third of November I mean let's have a look here it is it is detected oh ryzen 7 7 800 x 3D but do not skip the BIOS update step unless you're watching this video in like a year or so and you've definitely got an up-to-date board please make sure your board officially supports the 3D version of this otherwise you're not going to be getting the full performance what I'm going to do is grab a copy of Windows 11 on this install this onto the machine just by restarting it and logging in but first i'm going to download the BIOS update this get games installed get it all ready for you and then we will be looking at the performance of this with the 7800 X 3D I guess in a few seconds for you but a few hours for me and it's here ladies and gentlemen it is all set up and ready to go and can you tell it's on it's definitely something that is very different for the channel I can't think of anything really similar to this and I have to say but the theme I love it it's not what I personally would go for I actually quite like to have all the lights and sort of flash maybe one or two colors but gently nothing crazy and over the top but there are loads of people that are going to adore this because there really isn't a light in sight the motherboard was actually a really good choice for this because there's absolutely no illumination on this at all not even like LEDs that like flash and things that you can't turn off this really is a fully Decked Out blackout build and I like it here's your little noise test I mean bearing in mind this rig is actually running flat out right now and all you can hear is a tiny little bit of wine honestly very very impressed custom water cooling why do you need it but anyway enough talk let's jump in to the war zone and this is Call of Duty war zone 2 this is Battle Royale and this is running at the ultra preset at 4K with FSR 2.1 set to Quality and I am genuinely blown away by this to the point where I'm actually almost sort of I don't know is it too good to be true because just look at that frame rate at the top left hand corner of your screen I know this is a little bit of a quieter area of the map and we will move around a little bit but we're getting about 160 to 200 frames a second and fundamentally when you look at that CPU usage or I should say the GPU usage it's pretty much pegged at 100 which actually means we're not getting any bottlenecking from the CPU at all and obviously this is fantastic this is what you'd expect from the best gaming CPU but I have to admit I didn't actually expect to see this level of performance I still thought we would be getting into a little bit of bottlenecking territory but at least at 4K with FSR enabled it doesn't seem to be the case so if you do want to play Call of Duty Warzone you want to go for as high a frame rate as possible then clearly this is pretty much your best bet I mean look this is now a busy area this is not a walk in the park yet we're still getting about 200 frames a second that's mad what happens if we turn the resolution down to 1440p I wonder but regardless as we jump straight into action and actually see someone who's much better equipped I've only got a pistol you could see the frame rate has increased even more around about 220 frames a second I am amazing at this game clearly but look at that utilization still around about 94 I mean this is absolutely crazy 250 FPS Call of Duty Warzone ultra settings with the 7800 X 3D wow but of course one game doesn't really tell us the full story this is a chip that is going to have some variance depending on the game even how much it likes the V cash so let's move on to our next title some Halo infinite and this is running at the ultra quality preset 4K native with Ray tracing disabled because yes Halo note has some raytraced shadows I'm telling you that got me killed and in terms of performance we're looking at a very very high frame rate here anyway really between about 110 to 135 frames a second depending on the map and of course what we're doing single player versus multiplayer but this is a 120 hertz 4k monitor so this is actually pretty much the perfect pairing for this but I think most people probably aren't going to be playing a game like this in 4K resolution so you're going to want to turn it down just a little bit so let us do just that we go and change it to 1440p and I'm expecting over 200 frames a second now and I'm just a little bit shy here around about 188 but crucially that GPU utilization is still at 100 which is crucial because it means that our CPU is not getting in the way and we aren't able to fully unlock the full potential of the graphics card so I think this is the problem really right if you're wanting to go for a really high-end rig I've been saying this for months there's not really been a CPU that is up to the task of something like this or the RTX 4090 and I'm looking forward to testing this with a 4090 to really see if we can still unlock the full potential of that card but I'm very pleased to say that at least in the case of the 7900 XTX it's clearly the perfect pairing for this new 3D trip and I'm genuinely very impressed but let us really up the empty now what's in games that are properly CPU bottlenecks starting with some Spider-Man remastered and you had to forgive my gameplay because I always play with a controller and I've not got one here today so I might not be flying around as good as I would normally but regardless you can see that at 4K with FSR 2.1 sets of quality everything at very high Ray tracing disabled we are once again not having any limitations when it comes to the CPU and I think that is just so impressive because this is something that has been plaguing games high-end latest CPU dependent games for ages when you're using these top end cards so we're currently getting about 180 FPS which is more than anyone needs anyway but of course don't forget that this is a platform that you can upgrade for years to come I don't want to sound like an AMD advert here because as we know there are plenty of instances where Intel gives you fantastic performance and is better value but at the moment at the high end I have to admit I am struggling to recommend Intel for quite a lot of people purely because if you can get this sort of performance now what you're going to be able to get in a few years time it is genuinely quite remarkable but let us throw Spider-Man metaphorically off the bus and actually upgrade our Graphics to enable some Ray tracing and what has that done to our frame rate it has reduced it by quite a lot actually we're now getting about 110 frames a second which again is still probably how I would choose to play with Spider-Man you don't need it to be 180 FPS but be aware that you are definitely losing a fair bit of performance here so if you don't actually have that much frame rate to begin with then obviously do be aware but if it can do this at 4K resolution with FSR you probably don't need any extra performance anyway to be honest 120 FPS 4k monitor lovely but I know we can make this collapse 140p anyone yes it's collapsed it's all over the CPU is now bottlenecking this system about 90 GPU utilization as we skirt around the city 1440p it does clearly show that there are going to be some limitations still with this CPU but there's no way you can't be impressed with that because we're still getting about 130 140 frames a second so I guess that's actually the sort of ceiling really of this particular CPU and Spider-Man about 130 140 FPS one more for the road look Ray tracing off what difference does that make quite a bit actually about 250 FPS now wow you're losing 100 frames a second if you turn Ray tracing on again I know it doesn't really matter because you don't need that sort of level frame rate but still there you go it does show you the difference GPU utilization a lot closer to 100 as well pretty cool but let us know up the ante to the point where it's stupid it's crazy the most demanding game on the CPU we've come across in ages that's always bottlenecks Hogwarts Legacy and here we go in the main chamber what are we gonna get around about 130 frames a second this is impressive I'm fairly sure this is actually a lot higher than other tests that I've seen because we normally drop to about 90 or 100 frames a second or so here I don't think I've ever really seen anything this High that's crazy 140 frames a second in the lobby again look at that GPU utilization 100 we are properly using this it is so nice to be using a PC where we're actually utilizing what we have on offer yes now this is my sort of game but okay let's go into the settings menu and actually lower this down to Performance mode as this is going to simulate you running at a much lower resolution I guess more along the lines of like 1080P 1440p and we'll see whether we are bottlenecks nope still there 100 on the GPU utilization but our frame rate hasn't increased massively about 150 160 frames a second so you will get more performance but obviously the image quality is now going to look a little bit softer it holds up quite well you'd be surprised FSR 2.1 is good the others are not quite so convinced by the 2.1 FSR not bad I mean I guess we have no choice but to turn on Ray tracing that's the only thing that I have at my disposal to be able to collapse this that's going to mean restarting the game isn't it right game restarted let's go go are we gonna get bottlenecked yes no maybe a little bit 95 on the GPU utilization but fundamentally the frame rate of course is quite a lot lower we're on about 96 to 100 frames a second on now so clearly if you do want to enable Ray tracing this is a cob that can do it you're just trading I guess a fair bit of fps to actually be able to achieve that this and for some reason in Hogwarts Legacy the rage racing definitely looks quite off and this has happened on every system I think that I've built so far it's just a bit weird I mean the reflections clearly worked really well but then the lighting definitely seems a little bit off like why is everything suddenly so orange even if it doesn't work properly at the moment you can see that this is a graphics card that can handle it it can pretty much handle everything but regardless I think that brings us towards the conclusion of this video should you buy a 7800 X 3D if you have a graphics card that needs extra CPU horsepower to stop it from bottlenecking then clearly the answer is yes I think the am5 platform is brilliant it's not the cheapest you need ddr5 memory and so a lot of people are going to be building whole new rigs but I would say this is probably the first chip that has actually come along that is going to be worth it for a lot of people it is still eight cores which might affect you if you want to do a load of creative stuff as well and obviously the creative performance of this isn't quite so good as the normal X Series but fundamentally this is a gaming tip for gamers and it comes highly recommended as for the rest of this system well there's not really too much I would change other than maybe swapping up the memory for one that doesn't have RGB lights if you're going for a blackout design and if you're a little bit sensitive to coil wine then be aware this makes a little bit of Cornwall noise but I think you probably only noticed that because the card itself is just so quiet in normal operation but anyway I would absolutely love to hear your thoughts on this what do you make of the system what do you change what you make of the chip absolutely smash the like button if you've enjoyed this video
