to the setting same i will praise your name oh great is your faithfulness to me they pass away your history can prove there's nothing you can do you're faithful and true oh the storms may come in the sunny saints [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] is [Music] i put my faith he'll never let me down oh i put my faith in jesus my anchors to the ground something i love about worship music is it exercises a muscle so for those of you that are in this room then i face disappointment this face and hurt that is arguing with the lies that are going on in your head this is where you exercise that muscle because when times are good this muscle is where you start pumping as much as you can because when you're faced with the walls of disappointment the walls of doubt the walls of fear this is that moment you'll remember go i already got that muscle that's muscle memory my worship is my freedom my worship my faith in god that's my release i don't have to carry the weight of this world on my as shoulders put my faith in jesus my anchor to the ground my hope and my foundation he'll never let me down oh i put my faith in jesus [Music] jesus [Music] jesus he'll never let me down [Music] is [Music] is [Music] [Music] is [Music] put my faith in jesus [Music] my hoping for foundation he'll never [Music] foundation [Music] he'll never let me down [Music] foundation [Music] come on make it personal sing it right to him you'll never let [Music] oh [Music] is is is don't you get shy on me lift up your song you've got a lying inside of those lungs get up and praise the lord oh jesus oh come on my soul don't you get shy on me lift up your soul cause you've got a lying inside of your lungs get up and praise the lord come on can you just please don't song but come on my soul won't you get shy on me lift up your soul you've got a lying inside of those lungs get up and praise the lord hallelujah come on just lift up your voice hallelujah let's fill this place with praise hallelujah the thing about hallelujah is that it is a command the priest would say hallelujah and everyone they will just praise and worship the lord and that's why i love this word because i don't know what you're going through tonight but you can say hallelujah and your circumstance has to bow your circumstance has to worship everyone around you has to worship we sing hallelujah into this atmosphere and dallas has to worship outside of the granada has to worship the atmosphere around us lives up and prays so can we do that can we just activate the atmosphere around us hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah there is no one like you jesus come on jesus jesus jesus father we come before you jesus we say thank you for who you are we say thank you that we have the opportunity to come into your presence lord and receive your goodness and your kindness and your faithfulness and your love and your restoration because that is who you are father that is who you are that is who you are right now is my favorite part of the night it's our prayer and healing time this is the opportunity for god to do what he does best do the miraculous uh where our situations look impossible um that's an opportunity for him to invade your situation and reveal his strength and his power and his grace do you believe it so i'm gonna have the prayer team come forward and while we're still practicing social distancing i would love to invite you to come and stand along this wall right here and we'll stretch our hands towards you a few weeks ago as robert was speaking he was actually speaking to someone right here and someone in the crowd was actually healed and so we believe that god can meet you right where you are however there is something beautiful and powerful and it's a step of faith whenever you come forward and let us come in agreement with you when i was thinking about a scripture that i wanted to share and i came across this one it's super simple and yet so profound and powerful it's out of second kings 20 verse 5 it says this is what the lord the god of your father david says i have heard your prayer and seen your tears i will heal you it's as simple as that he will heal you emotionally from your anxiety from your fears from the heaviness and the load that you may carry day in and day out god never intended for you to carry that way and tonight he can heal you emotionally he can heal you physically whatever sickness or disease that you may be carrying you may be afraid of guess what god by his stripes we are healed he is here he is available and the best part is that he is god and he will do it so worship him i want you to go into god of revival at social dallas we believe that god is going to pour out his spirit here what does god pour out your spirit mean well the spirit of the lord is love joy goodness kindness gentleness self-control god's gonna meet us he's here right now so if you're needing a miracle in your life i encourage you to come forward and let us connect with you and pray with you in jesus name we've seen what you can do oh god of wonder your power has no end the things you've done before in greater measure you will do again cause there's no prison wall that you can't break no mountain you can't move all things are possible there's no broken body you can't raise no soul that you can't save all things are passing the darkest night you can light it up death is overcome cause you've already forever on the so why throne my heart feel what you've defeated i will trust there's nobody is oh i hear the chains hit the come awake in your cities oh oh can light it up come awake oh oh oh god oh oh oh oh lift up a shot of praise for the king of kings oh he's in the room oh he is for the king of kings oh spirit come on jesus jesus jesus so anybody believe there's power in your praise tonight come on this isn't a concert this isn't the show how many know there's something powerful when you lift up your hands and you open up your mouth and you give god praise come on god inhabits the praises of his people come on my praise is my contention upon my circumstance it's not contingent upon how i feel come on it's all based on the fact that god is worthy come on i need somebody at the granada theater tonight just to open up your mouth and give god praise like you know that's your weapon that's your with your praise demons father i thank you tonight for what our praise is doing god we can't even see it but i thank you that our praise our worship god is breaking things in the supernatural god i thank you that healing manifests with your worship i thank you that your presence is come on give him permission to shake whatever he wants to shake to move whatever he wants to move god we say you are the guest of honor tonight have your way whether it's photography social media whatever it is whether you can sweep okay anything you could do we need okay so october 7th here at the granada theater we cannot wait to see you and that's all the announcements we have everybody give it up for miss katie hennessy yo i'm kicking miss katie hennessy off the stage because it's time to do my favorite thing everybody's talking about their favorite part of service this is my favorite part of service okay my favorite part of service is the tithes and the offerings y'all so look this past week was my birthday okay wednesday okay so next week y'all one of my spiritual gifts or one of my spiritual love languages i guess is gifts okay god made me materialistic it's just it is how i'm wired it is what it is okay some of you all too spiritual y'all don't agree with me but it is what it is so every year on my birthday i always ask god bless me here bless me there do this do that for me because god's my father and he knows i love gifts okay and he gives me everything i need not necessarily everything i want but he gives me everything i need this past wednesday on my birthday i prayed i got up at 4am i know i'm old i got up i could not go back to sleep and i just told god i go god i know i always ask you for something every year but this year i want to make it about you i want to make it about you god do what you want in my life this year put me aside and just do it god use me in any way however way whenever you want to use me can you agree with me on that do you feel that way because i want to extend that invitation to you right now when it comes to tithe and offering it is a biblical principle it is a promise that when you give to god he will give back to you ten times over press down shaken together and running over okay so i just want everybody here just close your eyes real quick just do it close your eyes i know some people are texting close your eyes while you text okay but let's ask god god what can you and how can you use me in such a practical way god how can i partner with the kingdom and so i want you to ask god right now what can i give what can i give to you god whether it's money or whether it's your your attention and your time on october 7th we'll take that too but i want you to know that with the money that you do invest into this social dallas is going back to the kingdom of god it's going back to you it's going back to people it's not about us it's all about jesus so i just want to pray for you guys before we give i want to y'all can open your eyes by the way i see everybody closed let's wake up yes what's up what's up there are ways to give you could text the number it is 972-444-2113 or you could visit us online social dallas dot online slash give make sure you put your amount and make sure that it goes to the downtown section i don't know what that means but just make sure it goes to downtown you want to make sure it goes to here okay but yeah i want to pray for you guys i want to pray that this year god uses you so let's just pray god i just come before you god and i pray for every person that gives tonight god would you use them in a mighty way would you expand their world jesus would you wreck our lives with your presence god as we invest into the kingdom of god would you invest back into our lives god would you invest back into everybody that is connected to us may they be blessed god i just thank you for every face in this room every person that is watching online god would you just bless them lord bless them abundantly god we just give you all the praise and all the worship because you deserve it jesus we don't deserve your goodness but yet you give it to us freely so we just partner with you tonight in jesus name amen okay i think there's a video y'all watch it okay goodbye come from no matter where you've been i was born and raised in church so being involved in a church was and it was a no-brainer to me however social dallas gave me the opportunity to continue just like where i would come from but it also opened my eyes to be a place like where they come from they meet me but it also opened my eyes to be a place because it took me a little bit to even if it kind of involved i just knew that i could not miss but i also and for the friends and family that i've met so far and for the friends and family that i'm gonna meet in the future make some noise for jessica come on that's really the heart behind social dallas how many know the church is not just some organization you join it's supposed to be a family where you belong and uh that's what we believe here at social dallas this is a family and you ought to get plugged in and involved god did not save you and redeem you just for you to come to church and hear sermons from a preacher how many know you got to exercise your faith and serve and so i want to encourage you this wednesday night it's going to be fun we're gonna have awesome time if you want to get plugged in i'm telling you we have some gifts and some talents right here that we don't even have a clue what you got some of y'all can sing and you've just been keeping it out there we need it on stage we bout to wear daniel out come on some of y'all can't you can lip-sync for jesus but but you got another gift and we want you to get plugged in and get involved are you glad you're here the cowboys lost help us jesus but they're not going to take my joy in 2020 we're gonna keep praying and believing hey i'm excited to preach the word are you ready to hear it come on you can do better than that it's gonna be good it's gonna be good i'm excited because we've been in a series called the power of power of read that prefix read life is not what you see is what you read it's what you're able to reimagine it's what you're able to recreate the power of re we kicked off the series a week ago a week and a half ago talking about the power brie last week we talked about restoration where restoration starts and we're going to dump jump dump hello dump and jump into another re uh tonight so do you got a bible with you or iphone or ipad go with me to genesis chapter 25 genesis chapter 25. i want to look at verses 21 through 34 and then we'll look at hebrews chapter 12 verses 14 through 17. now we are building here is social dialogue so i got to remind you of the culture of social dallas we are not quiet in church this is a collaborative experience so if anything i'm saying up here you feeling how many know you can through your math say amen hallelujah preach oh that was good all of that is allowed over the next six and a half hours uh that we have together i'm playing genesis 25 we'll start at verse number 21 and it says isaac prayed to the lord on behalf of his wife because she was childless the lord answered his prayer how many are thankful that god still answers prayer his wife rebecca became pregnant and the babies jostled that's another word for straight up fighting with each other within her and she said this is funny why is this happening to me in that funny she couldn't have children she prayed god blessed over children and she goes why is this happening to me have you ever prayed away something that you prayed in oh y'all don't want to be real he'll be like god give me a job and then you got the job and you're like why they keep working me all the time i got other stuff to do i do have a social life you ever prayed away something you prayed in like god give me a husband he gave you a husband and now here you are i've been married three years the honeymoon's over you're like get on your side of the bed can i just get some me time it's funny how you can pray away stuff that you prayed in she said why is this happening to me so she went to inquire of the lord the lord said to her two nations are in your womb and two peoples from within you will be separated one people will be stronger than the other and the older will serve the younger i don't want to preach while i'm just reading the text but do you see god's perspective on a child in the womb she thought she was just having two babies he said no it's bigger than that girl you bout to give birth to two nations there are two nations in your womb and when the time came for her to give birth there were twin boys in her room the first came out was red and his whole body was like a hairy garment so they named him esau somebody say esau after this his brother came out and with his hand grasping esau's heels so he named his name was jacob and isaac was 60 years old when rebecca gave birth to them the boys grew up and esau became a skillful hunter a man of the open country while jacob was content to stay at home watching cooking shows with his mama by the tents and isaac who had a taste for wild game loved esau but rebecca loved jacob huh once when jacob was cooking some stew esau came in from the open country famished he said to jacob quick let me have some of that red stew i'm famished jacob replied first sell me your birthright look i'm about to die esau said what good is the birthright to me but jacob said swear to me first so he swore an oath to him selling his birthright to jacob then jacob gave esau some bread and some lentil stew and he ate and drank and then got up and left so esau despised his birthright now let's jump to hebrews chapter 12. i really only need the last two verses but in our current climate i may as well read verse 14. hebrews chapter 12. look at what it says work at getting along with each other and with god look at your neighbors say it's nice to be nice otherwise you'll never so much get as a glimpse of god make sure no one gets left out of god's generosity keep a sharp eye out for the weeds of bitter discontent a thistle or two gone to seed can ruin a whole garden in no time watch out for the esau syndrome trading away god's a lifelong gift in order to satisfy a short-term appetite you will know how esau later regretted that impulsive act and wanted god's blessing but by then it was too late tears or no tears oh this text is spicy it's so spicy it says you well know how esau later regretted that impulsive act the read that the holy spirit commanded me to preach on tonight is regret regret i can't for the life of me figure out what would make a person give up their birthright for a bowl of soup a bowl of stew maybe want to go what was the recipe for that soup that you would give up something so valuable but notice the hebrew writer does not mention the bowl of soup he just mentions the regret didn't miss the recipe for the soup and so i guess the title that i want to give this message is the recipe for regret the recipe for regret how many know regret has a recipe now can i give a quick disclaimer before i preach this message this message is not for everybody it's not for everybody some of y'all about to be dismissed this message is not for everybody this message is not for those of you who always make the right decisions and your life is just the epitome of perfection and your life really looks like what you post on the gram so you live in what you posted and your life is just a continuation of success after success after success if that's you i don't have a message for you okay this message is for those of us who have done some stuff so stupid i'm talking about soul astronauts so ridiculous that you keep replaying that moment over and over in your mind asking yourself how in the world did i do that why in the world did i say that why in the world did i type that email and hit reply all why why did i do that regret regret that's what i want to talk about re grant and i think hear me this message is so imperative for this year because how many know 2020 has brought us unprecedented uncertainty and often when uncertainty is high our decision-making process tends to be low and you make decisions that you end up regretting and i felt like the holy spirit told me to tell somebody at the granada theater you better be careful because you're about to make a decision this year in 2020 that in 2030 you're gonna say why did i do that the recipe for regret would you bow your heads we're gonna pray and i'm gonna get a drink of water while we're praying bow your heads it's gonna be a long prayer sound real spiritual would you bow your heads god you're awesome speak tonight amen the recipe for regret social dallas fam often when i'm preaching throughout the week of me preparing a message god will give me blue's clues uh confirming what i'm supposed to preach he'll give me like little signs not all the time but give me little signs on the outside confirming what he's been speaking to me on the inside that happened to me this week i was flipping the channels in the hotel i was at watching tv and a show came on this show does not air anymore so it was a re-run and uh that they were showing this show it was the show that i used to watch religiously back in the day i used to watch this show every single week in fact let me be specific i didn't just watch it every week i watched it every friday night i would watch this show which by the way let me just gauge the age of the people in here anybody remember a time before netflix and hulu and on-demand tv you remember you remember them remember when on-demand was like just a remote in your hand and like if you missed the show you just missed the show like you had to be there to see it old school and i used to watch some friday night it was actually a series of shows came on abc some of y'all don't remember some of y'all will it was called g i f tgif thank god it's oh some of y'all know what i'm talking about there were some shows on tgif that i love some old school shows can i just go down memory lane i'm talking about shows like full house i'm talking about shows like step by step y'all know nothing about that somebody just looking at me straight ahead like what is he talking about i'm talking about shows i'm talking about shows like hanging with mr cooper oh oh scooter i tell my show's like boy meets world you remember boy meets world whitest characters blackest names love story or corey and topanga um that's not the joke it's not the show that i watch every friday that's not a show that i watch every friday the show that i had to hone in on show that really mattered to my family family matters family matters family matters was on the other day and i love family matters you know the story of the show about the winslows and the nerdy characters steve urkel which by the way fun fact steve urkel was actually supposed to be in just one episode of family matters they only wrote them in for one episode but when he debuted on that one episode he was so well received that they had to write him in to more episodes and he ended up being the star of the series i'm going to pause right there i want to thank god that when other people write you off and other people only want to relegate you to one episode that god knows how to override the plans of man that god knows how to push you into the forefront and when people write you off god knows how to write your ear i said they mentioned for one episode but i'm gonna make you the star of the show you remember urkel steve urkel steve urkel it was on it was so funny i honed in right on the episode the classic moment where steve is causing chaos he's doing something crazy he had to run into this garage and he had this thing right after he would wreak havoc it was his catchphrase he would look back over what he had destroyed over what he had jacked up and he would usher this catchphrase did i do some of y'all watch the show did i do that it was funny when it was urkel let me know it ain't so funny when it's you because that is actually the underlying emotion of regret is when you look back over mistakes that you made failures that you made wrong choices that you made the underlining emotion of regret is that interrogative rhetorical question did i do that did i do that i love that question because did i do that it almost suggests that there is a disassociation between the you that did it and the you that knew better oh have you ever done something and you're like i know better than that that's why you're hitting yourself upside the head because you're like i know better than that and that space between what you did and knowing what was better is often filled with regret oh regret is powerful regret is crippling how many no regret can put you on the sideline of life regret can make you miss the promise of god on your life regret stop some of y'all from worshiping because you wanted to lift up your hands but the enemy kept replaying stuff in your past that you did regret can leave you stuck on the sideline never stepping into what god has for you in fact the enemy's favorite weapons of choice have you noticed are regret and shame that's the two guns he has in this holster regret and shame and he's always shooting you with regret and shame and how many know regret and shame are distinctly two different things there's a difference between regret and shame i think i told you this a couple weeks ago shame is when you feel bad about who you are regret is when you feel bad about what you did but the reason that they go together is many of us cannot separate who we are from what we did so when we did it we think that we are it so not only do i feel bad about what i did now i feel bad about who i am and when i feel bad about who i am i have the tendency to do it again and so i'm in the sixth cycle of regret and shame regret and shame regret and shame and it keeps on going on and on and on what do you do when you're wrestling with the reality of regret what do you do with regret look at your neighbor say you got to do something with regret no tell him you got to do something with your regret let me get to my notes real quick look at your neighbor tell them one more time you got to do something with regret it's interesting we live in a culture that says things like live with no regrets you ever heard somebody say that i ain't got no regrets that's the cultural truth right and now man what happens is gonna happen i'm wiser dawg i'm stronger i don't have any regrets how crazy is that so you're gonna get a tattoo got that picture ready you get a tattoo just man no regrets i ain't got no regrets for real you ain't got no regrets isn't that a cultural truth the problem hear me with the ideology of living your life with no regrets all right you can take it down problem though with living your life with no regrets don't miss this is that the inability to experience regret is one of the diagnostic characteristics of sociopaths psycho people have no regrets that's how they gauge your mental cognitive aptitude when you just kill nobody you're like i'm cool so it's impossible to live with with no regrets it's also one of the characteristics of brain damage people who have damage to their orbital frontal cortex are unable to feel regret even in the face of blatantly obvious poor decisions so does that'll be this idea of no regrets has got to be removed because there's actually a level of regret that's healthy there's actually a level of regret that you need so the enemy's beating you up with your regrets how many you know don't regret your regrets not fully because how many know sometimes that regret is a gift from god it is a gift from god that you have regret because how many you know regrets can be reminders that i am never gonna do that again i am never gonna respond like that again i am never gonna date somebody like you again i am never gonna marry somebody like you again come on how many you know regret can be a gift it can be a gift to go i'm never going back there again so when when is regret a problem regret is a problem hear me when you relish in the regret and it leaves you paralyzed it's also a problem hear me when the regret starts to become repeated so it's no longer a problem in your life this is a pattern have you ever looked at your life and going wait a minute this ain't just a problem this is a pattern every time my heart gets broken i'm on the same couch with a bag of oreos this is not a problem this is a pattern and when it becomes a pattern in your life that's when you have to watch out because there are some decisions that are irrevocable and once you do it you can never get it back i love this text that i read about esau esau hear me is the poster child for regret if there's any character in the bible that i feel sorry for it's esau if esau watch this could come back from the dead it feels like a movie called the ghost of esau passed you know what east i would do esau would just walk around and he would follow you and he would just watch you and every time you got ready to make the dumbest decision that was not just going to change the quality of your life but the course of your life esau would just be there right behind you going don't do it it's not worth it that's what esau would do every time you were getting ready to make a dumb decision esau would just be behind you screaming don't do it it's not worth it and what's crazy is you wouldn't even know what decision it is because how many you know sometimes it's big decisions that jack up your life and sometimes it can be the smallest decisions just the littlest decisions that actually set a course to bigger decisions so esau would be right behind you every time you got ready to do it saying don't do it it's not worth it how do i know esau would have done that because we tend to give the advice that we want and i think esau that moment he was about to sell his birthright i think he wished somebody would have come in in that moment and said esau don't do it it's not worth it i think he wished somebody would have come in right in that moment do you understand the power of what the birthright was in that day in fact i'm a firstborn child so i wish they would bring this all the way back the firstborn child got more of the inheritance you got more possessions than all of your siblings all the firstborns make some noise up in here that's what i'm talking about we deserve extra okay we was the guinea pig that our parents had to practice on okay you got extra so there was possessions you had power whenever your parents passed away you got to make decisions about the family you got the blessing of your father the birthright was a big deal and i think esau wished somebody would have come in that moment right before he was about to trade the birthright for a bowl of soup and said esau hold up don't do it it's not worth in fact i'm gonna elect myself to go back in the future and go back in the past and be like he saw homie hold me oh my goodness homie wait wait wait wait wait wait wait don't do it it's not worth it so let me tell you something look at me homie look at me let me tell you something you gotta understand something do you realize esau that you are going to have sons not one but twelve sons you're gonna have 12 sons esau and those 12 sons are going to become the 12 tribes of israel it's going to be a people a nation that god has called for himself esau please don't do this because those 12 sons are going to become a mighty nation and god is going to continue the promise the covenant that he gave to your granddaddy father abraham and continued with your daddy isaac but it's going to come to fruition and you isaac and those 12 sons that are going to have the 12 families are going to become so big esau a mighty nation but guess what they're going to be sold into slavery oh yeah it's going to get bad but it'll get better because they're going to be in slavery for 400 years but this dude named moses stay with me esau this dude named moses is going to be raised up and he's going to lift up a staff and split a red sea and people aren't going to get deliverance but before they get their deliverance when god reveals who he is to moses he's going to say i am the god of abraham i am the god of isaac and i'm the god of he esau homie you want to give that up you want to give up god revealing himself to you as the god of abraham isaac and esau he saw don't do it homie it's not worth it let me give you some more 2 000 years from now esau this dude named matthew is going to write a gospel and the first chapter of his gospel is going to be just baby daddy after baby daddy after baby daddy and he's going to set up the very lineage of whom jesus christ the savior of the world is going to come through and guess what who's going to start that family tree it's going to be abraham to get isaac isaac beget esau homie the savior of the world is going to come through your lineage god in flesh is going to come through you don't do it it's not worth it how many know if i had that opportunity to say that to esau he would look at me and say yo i didn't know i won't get the bowl of soup i i didn't know and this is actually the danger of life is you don't know you don't know oh you don't know who you're sitting next to right now somebody watching online you don't know you don't have a clue what god would do through you and in you you don't know eyes have not seen and ears have not heard neither has it entered into the heart of man the things that god has already prepared you don't even know you don't know i used to drive up on these streets in greenville when i was in bible college trying to see what area was popping you think i knew that somebody was going to tell me robert you're going to have a service at the granada theater that building right there that people are standing in line you're going gonna have church in that building and preach on that state i didn't know i didn't know that's the danger of life is you don't know that's why it's always funny political season that's also funny when they find dirt like on a politician you know they go back away you know how they do they go way back in your past like what you did in seventh grade like cece nah he can't be a candidate he threw he threw a little lunchable at oh dudes hey you know how they go back he'll pass and everybody still shocked and they're like oh man i can't believe that did that man in that position the reason you can't believe it and the reason they can't believe it is cause they didn't know they didn't know they were gonna be the president they didn't know they were gonna be on cnn and fox you don't know so the challenge of life is to make decisions because i can't go back to my past is to make decisions now that the future me will say thank you for that thank you for that that my kids will say thank you for that that generation after generation will say thank you for that instead of me looking back at my life pulling the urkel tombow did i do that i'd rather somebody say thank you for that i'm gonna give you tonight and be real practical y'all good i'm gonna give you the recipe for regret regret has a recipe there's going to be three ingredients before i give you the recipe for regret i want to give you the definition of regret listen to the definition of regret regret is the emotion we experience when we think that our present situation could be better or happier if we had done something different in the past i wanted to give it to you one more time regret is the emotion we experience when we think that our present situation could be better or happier if we had done something different in the past so watch this my situation could be better or happier could be could be if i had done something in the past could be and something i've done that means regret hear me requires two things imagination what could be and decisions you cannot have regret without decisions and imagination because imagination says who i could have been what if i would have went to that school what if i would have got that job what if i would have married him what if i would have married her what if i wouldn't have married him what if i wouldn't have married imagination not only is it connected to imagination it's also connected to decisions you stay with me and the closer the imagination is to the decision the stronger the feeling of the regret the closer i can imagine something based off of a decision the more regret i'm gonna feel okay i lost some of you i'm gonna get you right back okay um i i gotta ask a question please don't cheat especially if you're online because you can google i got to ask a question uh please raise your hand raise your hand if you know who lindell lock is raise your hand if you know who lindell lock is anybody okay i don't see one hand don't nobody know who lindle lock is all right all right who another question raise your hand if you know who jay-z is okay let's see that hand see the hand i see that hand i see the hand i see that here the city's here okay let me show you imagination and regret linda lock is the only person beyonce dated before jay-z they dated from the time she was 13 to 17. the more her fame increased the less faithful he became and they broke up guess who experiences the most regret every time beyonce and jay-z show up on a red carpet linda you ain't got no regret over imagination cause you didn't have the opportunity but lyndon made a decision and now because his decision is connected to imagination every time they own a yacht in france and he's at home eating ramen noodles linda's like huh i'mma really bring it home imagine imagine that you make a decision to come to team night this wednesday which you should do say you're going to come to school i mean i can't just sit and just receive the word i got to get plugged in i gotta use my gift so you say i'm gonna come to team night and you start driving to team night and as you're driving to team night you're like oh i don't know about this i don't know anybody at that church i don't know anybody in social dallas i can't get plugged in no no i don't want to be there and be awkward and trying to meet people nah let me call my friend that i know so you make a decision you call your friend and say hey let me just go get some drinks and hang out with you because i don't want to go there team night i don't know anybody how many know after you leave your drinks with your friend hanging all of a sudden you look on instagram and find out that the team night which is this wednesday right here at the granada theater we gave away teslas to every single person they said i'm gonna sign up for social dallas to sub all the regrets that you would have now you would not feel somebody in mona in montana that just saw online we gave away teslas they'd be tripping they'd be like oh that's awesome praise god the church should give stuff away said i always ask for money but you oh don't regret you wouldn't talk to that friend ever again you're the one that messed up my tesla every time a tesla passed by you got an attitude cause you're your honda accord why because of the imagination you made the decision though you better come this way decision has got to be connected to the imagination so that means watch this regret is intrinsically connected to your decisions it's connected to your decisions so here's the question i got to ask you as i land the plan here is social night you ready if regret is connected to my decisions how do you make your decisions how do you make your decision better question how many got a big decision you got to make right now can i see your hand oh nobody got no decisions how do you make your decisions you pray about it read the bible call your friends wait till one of them tell you the thing you want to do how do you make your decisions you do like some people do like okay lord if i walk outside and i see a red dog the sky is blue and it's 73 degrees no for how do you make your decisions because if regret is connected to my decisions and imagination over the past how do you make your decisions i want to show you through the decision process making of esau how not to make decisions and if you make decisions like this you will have regret because this is the recipe for regret you ready i'm gonna give them to you fast number one esau decided watch this esau decided in isolation it's the first recipe first ingredient he decided in isolation it is detrimental to your destiny to make decisions in isolation esau didn't consult anybody he said you won't call somebody and say hey i'm about to give away my birthright what you think about it no he just said i'm hungry the stew is in front of me i'm gonna do it he made a decision in isolation don't make decisions in isolation bible says in proverbs that it is in a multitude of counselors you find safety proverbs 11 in a multitude of counsel that means you need to have the right relationships in your life come on somebody that will actually give you the right counsel don't ever make a major decision in isolation isolation isolation will destroy your destiny you don't want to consult anybody you you don't want to talk to anybody you want to go to court and represent yourself you ain't never seen somebody crazy like somebody said your honor i'm gonna represent myself today for this case have you been to law school no but i know me so i will represent myself you going to jail you want to go in the shell you better consult with somebody that's smarter than you don't make decisions in isolation even if you've done something stupid how many you know you still need to consult with somebody smarter than you sometimes the situation you're regretting is not even as bad as you think but if you could get some perspective from somebody else you won't make further dumb decisions come on that's why they read you your rights and say yo you know you got the right to remain silent so you don't say something else that's going to incriminate yourself and anybody that's watched any criminal show would just know and you got any sense i'm a plea defense i'll wait for my lawyer but talk to somebody because i cannot afford to make a decision in isolation you will destroy your destiny making decisions in isolation how many know we're in a season where people have been so isolated and hear me if you are making major decisions in isolation i'm telling you you are going to regret it number two second ingredient esau decided tired he was tired you read the text first thing it says is that he came in from hunting and he was famished he's exhausted he's tired how many know you don't make good decisions when you're tired he's tired now here's what i want to get into this because i almost reduced his decision to stupidity i wasn't even gonna do a whole little word play on stu and just call it stupid because that's what he was she's a stu pid but that's not really fair to reduce his decision to stupidity because tell me you know he did not make that decision alone there's a context to that decision and matter of fact any person that you meet that made some dumb decision if you actually want to have grace for them or maybe even just get clarity don't just look at the decision that they made that was so stupid look at the context of the decision that they made it in it doesn't exonerate them it doesn't mean it was right but you can't get greater context if you don't just look at the decision but look at what was the context of them making the decision so i thought esau was just stupid because he gave up his birthright for a bowl of soup i'm like how could you be that impulsive but remember the text said esau was a hunter he was a hunter so he's not stupid he's smart and i'm not a hunter i don't hunt but i can conclude that if you are going to hunt you can't be impulsive you got to know how to wait ain't no way you can be impulsive as a hunter as soon as you see the deer hey man i'm about to shoot you today no you gotta you gotta sit back you gotta wait if you're a hunter you gotta know how to weight you can't be impulsive so he knows how to wait he's a hunter so why is he so impulsive right now because he's exhausted he's tired and when you are tired you make the dumbest decisions don't make decisions in this year that can shift the trajectory of your life just because you're exhausted some of you have lost so much this year so much have been stripped away from you you are mentally tired spiritually tired physically tired don't make destiny decisions when you're tired you ever text somebody when you're tired one night i was texting somebody is like there was it's a spiritual situation they're like pastor robert can you pray and here i am exhausted texting ty i don't even know what i text all kinds of crazy alphabets i need to know they gave me the benefit of that i said i appreciate that prayer on the text last night i said that prayer he said yeah were you texting in tongues because there was all kinds of different i said i was that's how spiritual you make dumb decisions when you're tired you don't know the value of things when you're tired oh my wife will testify when we were in the pandemic early in the pandemic and it was just us and our three humans for like 60 days with no help oh for like long time no help no babysitter i promise you i don't without a background check any of y'all if you would've came to my door i've been like here take them take them go go just bring them back whenever when i get some slaves i'm telling you that's why i was my children are so valuable to me but i'm telling you when you are exhausted you make dumb decisions there's actually something called decision fatigue decision fatigue is when the quality of your decisions begin to deteriorate because you're making so many of them and when you do that you actually do stupid trade-offs that's why good ceos they will limit how many decisions they make in a day because they know if i keep making so many decisions i'm going to end up making the wrong one so esau is not stupid he's just tired he's been hunting all day and he comes in tired and it makes a bad decision don't decide tire worship team join me third ingredient don't decide what number one don't decide number two you're tired number three don't decide put it on the screen for immediate gratification esau decided for immediate gratification esau did not have the wherewithal to have delayed gratification he said i want it now first thing out of his mouth when he saw his brother jacob with the stew he said quick give it to me now it's interesting because the bible said that the stew was read it also said that esau's skin was red it also said that esau was a hunter which means he dealt with meat flesh and how many know flesh will always tell you two things now quick now quick flesh will always tell you now flesh will always sacrifice the long term for the short term flesh will always try to put the spirit back and say do it now do it quick do it you feel it do it now do it quick that's what flesh does but how many know god's not called you to live by your flesh he has called you to live by your spirit come on that's the power of coming into church on a sunday night and lifting up your hands and giving god worship and hearing the word of god you know why because your spirit gets stronger and as your spirit gets stronger when the enemy comes in with all kinds of temptations trying to get you to sacrifice the long term for the short term all of a sudden you say no no no no my spirit is stronger than that i have a purpose i have a gr i have something greater that i'm seeking god for i got a preferred future oh he decided for the immediate over the long term and i felt like i was supposed to tell somebody in 2020 don't decide for the immediate you don't know what god has in the future i know this year has been crazy i know you've been in isolation i know you're tired i know your flesh is going crazy and saying do it now go off on them now divorce them now walk away now i'm telling you your spirit god's calling your spirit to become stronger than your flesh to say i am not going to sacrifice my future but that which is immediate how many know anything worth it is worth waiting for if it's really worth it you will wait for it come on if it's really worth it you will pray for it you will seek for it you will wait for it oh who am i preaching to tonight wait for it it's gonna be worth it don't just don't date them just cause they chew wait for it it's gonna be worth it if you wait for it they that wait upon the lord shall renew their strength but i'm tired of waiting that's why you got to keep waiting because they that wait upon the lord are going to renew their strength wait for it oh come on social dallas is there anybody in here tonight that says i know that god has greater in front of me i know that 2020 is just a chapter this doesn't define me a year doesn't define me i had a purpose before there was a pandemic i'm gonna wait for it i'm gonna wait for it there's generations that are waiting for you to wait for you hear all these kids screaming making noise in the back you know why it doesn't bother me because what we're doing here at social dallas is going to outlive us generations after generation are going to experience help me god are going to experience the power of god they're going to say yeah my parents used to have a service right here at the granada theater wait for it don't sacrifice your future just cause it's convenient you want to know the recipe for regret decide in isolation decide when you're tired decide for the immediate instead of the long term god said this year if you will wait on me if you'll seek me and trust me after this year is over you will look back and say it was worth it it was worth it it was worth trusting god it was worth not giving up it was worth not throwing in the town every single person that can to stand to your feet father in the name of jesus god i was obedient with what you told me to preach father we cannot change what we've done in the past but lord we can change the decisions that we make right now as a matter of fact father i thank you and although our actions in the past can't be removed i do thank you that your blood covers a multitude of sin that your blood redeems us that your blood restores us that your blood regenerates us that's why you paid the price our sins past present and future holy spirit would you help us tonight to walk away from the recipe of regret lord i pray we would not make decisions in isolation but father help us to make decisions in community and communion with you jesus and godly relationships god send the right people into our lives that will give us godly counsel and speak to our hearts let us make decisions in community father i pray we would make decisions not out of weariness but god decisions out of rest decisions out of being replenished by your word by your presence father god help us to have supernatural godly vision to not sacrifice our future for the immediate thank you jesus heads about house of closing this place tonight there's plenty of space here at the front we end service like this every week but if you'd be so honest to say pastor robert this this word is for me and i either have made or i'm about to make a decision this year and i saw some of the ingredients the recipe of regret and you know that you know that you know god sent this word right now to stop you in your tracks and don't do it trust me and wait this is for you would you just lift up your hand high enough and long enough to where i can see you say this is for me this is for me thank you jesus thank you you can lift it up you can put it right back down you're in this room or even online and you've never surrendered your life to jesus you are living your life for you tonight god is calling you home that's what he does he redeems your life so even watch this all the dumb decisions of your past they're no longer ashamed they actually become a platform for you to declare god's grace and tell other people that if god can save somebody like me if god can rescue somebody like me if god can mend somebody as broken as me i know he can do it for you too this is the beauty of the gospel of grace is that our decisions in the past are even redeemed and god can get the glory out of it neither if you need to surrender your life to him tonight would you just lift up your hand just as a sign to say that's me i'm giving you my life here's what i want us to do the worship team is gonna leave but if you lifted up your hand or you should have lifted up your hand i'm just gonna ask you this is not to embarrass you this is to empower you i think it's something powerful about leaving where you are and just stepping into a new place nobody's gonna lay hands on you nobody's gonna pray for you this is between you and your god but if you lifted up your hand or you should have lifted up your hand for either one of those i just want you to get out of your seat and just come find a space and a place right here at the front and the worship team is gonna lead us and i'm believing as you stand here tonight god is going to give you the strength that you need to keep trusted to keep waiting he will redeem it when i count to three the worship team is going to lead us and if you lift it up your hand or after you feel comfortable i just want you to come find a place of this altar one don't worry about what somebody else is gonna think two this is between you and your god three just come on just come on come find a place here at this altar thank you jesus thank you jesus come on come on come on come on come on come on come on thank you jesus thank you jesus but you have never failed me yet i've waited for change for you have never failed me yet still since great is your faithfulness your faithfulness this is you never failed me my heart will sing your praise again keep me within your love my your heart this is this is i never will forget your favorites oh and i'll me do it again is this is oh this is i see you doing it again where there was where there was no way you made a i see you you fullness you never failed father we thank you tonight you can do anything but fail jesus thank you that your promises are a solid foundation god we trust your promise even when we can't see it jesus help us to not make decisions just because the promise doesn't seem like it's gonna come to pass but we'll trust you and we'll wait jesus thank you you are worth waiting for come on how many are thankful that his promises are worth waiting for it's worth it it's worth it that's why you can't quit robin it's worth it that's why you can't give up it's worth it we just closing prayer as one big family we're gonna say it this prayer is a family but i want to pray this for especially those of you whether online or if you just chose to stay in your seats you said i need to surrender my life to jesus can we pray this prayer as one big family come on let's say it say dear jesus i admit can i do life without you i need you thank you jesus for loving me enough to pay the price for my sin past present and future help me to trust you thank you jesus and your promises are worth waiting for i refuse to live in regret but i choose to trust you in jesus name come on somebody say amen and give god the best praise that you got on a sunday night oh come on you could turn up a little bit more than that hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah i felt that hallelujah in my spirit baby y'all glad you came tonight hey if you prayed that prayer for the first time don't
