The Palworld Date Night Experience

hello there welcome to the world of Pals my name is tree but everyone affectionately refers to me as the pal Professor this world is widely inhabited by creatures called Pals for some people pals are pets others use them for battling I myself choose to use them as food okay all jokes aside the two of us have been obsessed with power world this week it's been coming at us from all angles and once we finally sat down to see what it was all about we completely flew off the deep end what do you want first you want the penguin or the other penguin that's right you heard that right tan I don't just have one penguin right I have two penguins cuz look what came out of the egg wow look at him go look at him go he's a Peng he is a king among Penguins tan I haven't been this invested in a game and I don't know how long the ratio of sleep to power world has been dangerously low the past few days and if I didn't know better I think our friends might start getting concerned that would be if they weren't busy playing too should I still beat this chicken even though I don't have balls you can if you want just for practice all right here look at me wait whoa okay what's the capture rate uh five 05% chance oh that's better than zero keep crawling without me no we''ve all just become a sweaty mess at this point For Better or For Worse truth be told I don't even know what the Tor were doing in this game anymore but last time I checked it was to be the very best like no pile ever [Music] was pal world isn't just a game it's an experience the first time I walked in on him chasing one of those adorable lamb bols as a rolled down the hill I was sold a game filled with cute creatures that can be captured and named sounds too good to be true how do you play this game and not smile of course I did a double take when he finally caught up to the adorable ball of flop and started brutally beating it with a stick wait why are you Bing it as it turns out weakening Pals is the best way to capture them although without a pal of your own you've got to dish out damage the oldfashioned way and do it by hand come on I just want to be your friend at first I felt bad hitting them myself and wish I could just rely on my pals to do the ugly deed but then I realized I was just forcing them to do my dirty work I'm sorry this is a this is a love tap okay I'm doing this for your own good oh I didn't like that you got to you were you swung too hard wait did I kill it it's still rolling nowadays I prefer to knock things out with my own two hands because she who passes the sentence ought to swing The Sword in a universe where monsters are forced to beat one another into submission I'd argue my hands aren't clean either way if such a universe did exist I'd asked who the real monsters are anyways God damn it what's your off um cookie just made everything kind of tough I was trying oh God okay can you come get me okay one sec I wasn't even trying to catch that deer or engage I was just trying to catch the damn Fox there was so much unnecessary Bloodshed discovering a brand new world for the first time is something that power world captures perfectly it seems like around every corner there's something fresh to see or do and nothing makes us go nuts like finding a new pal but the beauty of this game is it seems like every little thing we do rewards us even just running from point A to point B and accidentally knocking over a pal rewards experience and makes us glow like I thought I was excited but I've never seen him this giddy over a game before Oh my God there's so many like cool things over here and I'm just going to have to assume they're friendly because my curiosity is getting the better of me the way his eyes grow to be the size of dinner plates every time he discovers something new is contagious and I'm living for it they what that looks so cool too okay let's go we have a new goal the only real problem with there being so much to see and do is that the two of us never stick together we'd usually roam separately but at least our Pals were there to keep us company obviously it's nice because we cover a lot more ground that way but at the same time when one of us goes down it becomes all the more difficult for the other to pick them back up many a time one of us would overc commit on a fight and then cause the other to drop everything for the most intense 90sec Sprint of their lives oh I'm down oh where are you let me come help you where I'm like right by the this like there's like a church oh okay it's going to be close oh no the Sprint of your life I'm trying everything I can I know six seconds oh no no no ironically once the other half of the power couple was back on their feet we'd usually be able to take out whatever knocked us down in the first place although that does back the question why don't we just ask for help to begin with clearly we have better footing when we work together but alas just as soon as the threat is eliminated I turn around and he's already gone we really ought to take a page out of the pal deck and try traveling in a pack okay I'm down I need you to pick me up okay oh yeah careful it's just checking you out look out look out run run damn it we had that I know we had that that thing looks cool with all that said probably the main incentive for me to ditch him and go off on my own is how leveling Works a majority of the experience to be gained comes from capturing Pals and he throws balls at practically anything that looks at him funny oh my goodness a captured human whoops I already log behind him and levels enough so I'm better off roaming solo rather than competing for Pals you look so cool hell yeah okay so let's talk what level are you right now I'm eight I am 15 nice okay I've just been collecting ore you want to see how I do it it's nice that he blazes the trail through the tech tree for the both of us though as I hardly have to unlock anything since he's almost a leg work he tends to prioritize the weapons and armor upgrades though so I usually like to unlock the furniture and decorations we aren't here to survive we're here to live right thank you ter playing with the group is nice cuz everyone can just surgically Target different upgrades and then just cue them up for the rest of the group there's more than enough Tech points to go around but it makes me a lot less stressed about spending them knowing he's got the most important ones figured out already the Penguins can have a rocket launcher I I have that unlocked you do it's not a it's a penguin you launch the penguin you launched the penguin yep it's like priny self-sacrifice it is it's just like PR which I think is hilarious here I go dude as it turns out the reason he seems like he's always in three different places at once is cuz of fast traveling for the longest time I didn't even know it was a thing we could do and just figured activating the different waypoints around the map serve some greater purpose I just assumed he was everywhere all at once at all times and rolled with it in hindsight it seems pretty obvious but I didn't really mind taking the SC group cuz riding my alpaca over the place is basically a game inad of itself let's go cookie that was insane I just like flipped backwards over Cookie's head to join or to land on her navigating the world is half the fun if you ask me even with the most basic movement options available navigating the palapag GH islands is so enjoyable I have to say that movement progression feels rewarding and fun even from the start whether it's sliding down the hills while possibly getting the world's worst grass stains of our brownie armor we're throwing ourselves off of Cliff sides and playing chicken with gliders I actually don't have any uh Stam you want to pick me up getting around feels so good and that's just the start things got even better once we had access to things like a grappling hook and the pals the first time he rode into camp on the back of a mount I nearly spit out my coffee I'm just walking because I'm overburdened yeah well I'm done walking Taran you're done walking I've given up walking you're riding a Lama it's an alpaca ter evidently riding on the pals is my favorite thing in the entire game the first time I unlocked the saddle for one of the mounts I pretty much just ran in circles around our base camp for the rest of the night I thought I couldn't get better than this but boy was eyeing for a treat that first saddle only just scratches the surface you want to know what I caught sure what did you catch oh you got a Nightwing I did saddle for it yes let me I'll put one in the thing for you let's see around the town we riding on the backs of our bird Pals I realized how much of a Time SN this game was about to be for our relationship you ready I'm about to have my maiden voyage on Atlas oh let's go yes look at this once you've taken to the skies pretty much anything you can see is yours to go and discover I'd say the sky's a limit but really is our stamina bars basically I can jump off my bird and then pull out my glider and then hold F to get back on my bird and then I could just like reset the stam as we made it further from the starting point Pals became much more aggressive and we realized it was time to put up or shut up when it comes to Pal battling there's more than just sending out your strongest monster each pal comes with a type and they have their own strengths and weaknesses in battle having the type advantage can give you the edge if there's a level discrepancy between you and an opposing pal the typings are all very straightforward and easy to pick up if you've experienced with elemental rock paper scissors from somewhere else if you're like my boyfriend it'll come naturally and you'll try bringing a widespread of typings with you into battle if you're like me then you'll probably do just fine rolling with the ones that look the cutest and let you ride on them let us ride off into the sunset together um what about me even still the boss battles and the towers have pretty big health bars and unless you want to take the full time limit or Worse run out of that then you probably want to go in with a super effective typing on the road to Victory we found that each Tower's leader specialize in a different type so knowing their weakness was the key to coming out on top overcoming them in battle earns you points for the tech or an arcade's bragging race amongst our friends Vin we did the boss the electric boss at the tower and we didn't know you could all go in together oh yeah I went in by myself the biggest intive of all to go and Tackle their challenges was to remove their Quest from our to-do list but there's few things we won't do for an unseen badge of honor join boss battle oh did get in oh I started it without Dar no well have fun guys if breathing fire or zapping with electricity wasn't lethal enough you've also got the option to kid out these little guys with fully automatic Firearms I don't know who the Innovative thinker was that decided the way to make these adorable creatures more combat capable was to give them assault rifles but I'm too busy laughing to question anything excuse me prin when did you learn to do that it's just the right amount of ridiculous for me where I can stop laughing every time I see it but still take it seriously enough to keep using it the penguin is helping me create the thing that he will be fired out of although the world is completely open to explore there are some important rules to understand once you get past the pocket size monster collecting this is still a survival game at its core eating and building a shelter are just as important as making a lot of Pals of course with that said the two go hand inand doing everything yourself is a lot more work than employing the help of the pals I know earlier I said that I felt bad forcing them to kill their Brethren but the least they can do is earn their keep since I'm the one getting blood on my hands look at him go he's buil your thing oh my God he's going crazy the penguin is at the desk happy morality is an incredibly Gray Line and power world certainly tests its boundaries you got a human I caught a thug oh my we talked about this I have to be concerned unfortunately both us and our Pals get hungry and as cute and adorable as some of these guys are they are in fact made of delicious calories is having a pal cook and eat one of its own kind considered inhumane do the pals go into the fridge whats do not go in the fridge let me rephrase that can they access the fridge to eat food okay that's a very different question than what you asked the jury's still out on that one but in the meantime I'm getting hungry so I'll eat it if they won't growing crops is our main source of food most of the time but I'm not about to waste perfectly good meat just because I used to be Pals with it apparently we don't die from Hunger yet I just got down to 18 HP in terms of our home shelter I find myself wondering if I'm running the base or letting the base run on me I tend to let the big decision- making fall on his shoulders and instead help assemble whatever happens to be queued up on the crafting table at any given time he's always had a nap for delegating and the pals look to him like a leader he's a pretty fair manager and makes sure the little guys have access to amenities and get breaks oh my God he's using the hot tub wa I got my he doesn't even oh my God he just just yeah he's just like putting his his food into it and that's it obviously we don't want them to get stressed out and risk a break in our assembly line or Worse threaten to unionize fortunately he has an ace of a sleeve because the girlfriend makes the best base P of them all thanks to constantly working even when stressed out there are no Penguins helping me that's okay you get something better than a penguin a boyfriend the two of us had the brilliant idea to leave the game running while we ate lunch once because the operation was running smoothly and we thought we could squeeze a little extra Stone out of our rocks as we came to learn the hard way the base isn't immune to Danger as raids are a looming threat thankfully our base Pals considered this place a home and defended it to The Bitter End luckily they held them off long enough for the two of us to realize what was going on and come to their aid among the casualties of our first rid were some knocked out base Pals as well as a slightly burned lunch if you ask me though I think we got off easy as we've heard horror stories of entire bases being leveled by those godamn kamakazi Birds oh oh I di died me too uh-oh the main thing that keeps us enthralled by this game is discovering new things it seems like we always stumble upon a breadcrumb trail of goodies such as Effigies chests and Traders to lead us into Uncharted Territory temperature is the main force that drives us away from the tougher areas but different clothes and armors can be used to increase your tolerance to the heat or cold amusingly even when the two of us are freezing to death we can't help but push our luck in the more dangerous areas it doesn't help that the areas look so cool and curiosity is what tends to lure us far from home the stronger pals are all hiding out there and some of them look really really cool even if we aren't high enough level to make good use of them it's the thrill of the hunt that makes pursuing these Legends addictive one shake is is encouraging no this could be it she got him let's go way to go Teran there's just something so tantalizing about trying to catch things that we have no business capturing they knew Dam well what they were doing when they put a bunch of highlevel passive Pals in the starting zone they're practically waiting for players like us to come and poke them with the stick leave it to us to go out of our way to try and capture something 10 levels higher just to say that we did it I thought I was bad but he's way worse all it has to do is say that there's a nonzero chance and he's already committed to throwing every sphere in his pocket until by some miracle the ball stays shut oh we got it what the f Hell Fire hell Zer hell zer for that's amazing my team is so beat up I need to come home that felt like a boss fight and a half just now I am way too low level to be fighting like that but God it was fun it was exhilarating Taran oh my God it sounds like each ball had like I don't even know what the percent chance was but it wasn't above 10 I'll tell you that like I was like I was like is this even doing anything God I'd call it a waste of resources since I'm the one crafting all those balls for him at base but then again it's worth every piece of wooden Stone when he comes running back home with some insane catch what in the world is that it's bitching the fact that we've played the intro of this game five times at this point and can't get enough to tell you all you need to know about where we stand you think you could only capture so many monsters in Tiny spherical pocket Dimensions before you get bored but a little voice in our head keeps telling us we've got to catch them [Music] all la [Music] la
