The Lord's Prayer Part 4- David Borg

turn your Bibles tonight to Luke chapter 11 Luke chapter 11 I want to look just for a few moments before we progress here and proceed in this prayer pattern that Jesus gave us I want to I want us to look at Luke's account just make a couple of comments here regarding it Luke chapter 11 and I'll begin in verse 1 I'm just gonna read the first couple of verses here and the Bible says and it came to pass that as he was praying in a certain place Jesus when he ceased one of the disciples said unto Him Lord teach us to pray as John also taught his disciples and he said unto them when you pray say and then he went through I'm not gonna go through it again but he went through basically the same pattern that we looked at in in Matthew chapter 6 but I want to draw your attention to this this thought here we have to understand that this account or Luke's account regarding this prayer pattern was two and a half years after Matthews account I always thought that it was just Luke's you know Luke's account of the same timeframe that Jesus brought out in Matthew chapter 6 but that was at the beginning of his ministry here what we see in Luke chapter 11 is really toward the end about two and a half years into his ministry and here the disciples come to him two and a half years later after he already told them back on the Sermon on the Mount told them how to pray so one of two things happened here either they just didn't get it the first time or they needed encouragement because they just maybe weren't seeing the results that they wanted to see immediately well if it was the latter we need to understand this truth that don't expect when you pray and when you seek God and when you cry out to God that things are going to happen immediately you know there's some times it will but most of the time there's going to be a testing period there's going to be a time when the Lord is going to try and he's going to test your faith and see if you are really serious about what you are crying out to him for and also he's gonna test it and try it to see whether what you are crying out to him for is after his will and you can be rest assured or you can be rest assured of this that when you do pray according to the will of God the plan of God the kingdom of God that God will respond all right God will move God will do what he said that he would do and we just have to our responsibility is to continue to be tenacious if we were to continue on in this chapter 11 we're not going to do that tonight but we would deal with or Jesus would deal with importuning we would you would understand and be familiar with the the parable of the of the three loaves or the scenario here between the friend at midnight or the parable however you want to refer to it and Jesus would go on into in portunity 2p persistence in prayer amen we need to be persistent we need to continue to cry out to him but notice they asked him Lord teach us to pray not teach us to preach not teach us to build churches but Lord teach us to pray and I'm convinced that if we would really learn to pray and pray properly a pray according to God's covenant and God's kingdom that all the rest would fall into place that everything else would fall into place the greatest need for you as a believer is to learn how to pray and to do it and to be persistent in it God wants to make every one of us a house a temple of Prayer that's his goal that's his desire for you and so this is this is Luke's account what I want to do now I want us to really we'll just kind of refer to go back to Matthew chapter 6 and begin to deal continue on with the pattern that Jesus gave here and as we dealt with in the previous weeks we dealt with our Father which art in heaven and the reality of the fact that as a result of the Covenant as a result of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and remembering again that every aspect of this prayer pattern goes back to the blood and goes back to the Covenant every single thing every point in the pattern it is freita dwith new covenant implications all going back to the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ you have a relationship with your heavenly Father because of what because of the blood you have access to his promises you have access to the Covenant benefits who he is to you in covenant and we dealt with many of those promises sins forgiven sins Dominion broken over our lives the promise of his Spirit the promise of health and healing and all of the other benefits we dealt with that found in his name hallow would be thy name it is according to the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that you have access to those covenant benefits remember everything in the pattern goes back to the covenant goes back to the blood goes back to the cross and as I said before that this pattern that he gave the goal of it and the reason I believe why Jesus gave it was to get his people to line up with the Covenant and have their focus properly on the cross of Calvary that's the goal again wouldn't it make sense if Jesus is going to give us a pattern it's going to line us up with his covenant and get us focused right you know one commentator said this regarding this prayer patter and he said that it was the gospel abbreviated and I find the more that I pray according to this manner I'm really preaching the gospel to myself and when we pray every every morning Monday through Friday we have a an hour of prayer from 615 to 7:15 over in the Bible College and I want to make mention of that I want a little plug for that right now if any of you want to join us over at the Bible College on the second lore of the Bible college building in the chapel room we have a prayer time from 615 to 7:15 and the Lord instructed me to take this pattern and to pray through this pattern and that's what we do corporately and there's anywhere from 10 12 15 of us on a good a good morning and that's open to anyone if you want to join us and the sometimes the best way to learn how to pray is to be around those who know how to pray sometimes prayer is better caught than taught you get that caught caught then taught you get with people who know how to pray and that spirit of Prayer can become a part of you and you can learn how to pray so come join us actually of out in the for year on the right hand side I've left some sheets there that have this prayer pattern on it which is some basic instructions just to kind of point you in the right direction and on the back of it there is some directives for that prayer meeting at 6:15 so if you want to join us grab one of those prayer patterns that will help you to progress through this to learn it again don't make a ritual out of it allow the Holy Spirit to open it up to you that's the whole idea remember what we taught at the beginning that this was never intended for you to just take the words that were written and to just quote those verbatim as a ritual but it was intended that you take the pattern and you allow it you allow the Holy Spirit to open it up to you and open up the New Covenant to you and you pray through it as the Holy Spirit leads you that's the whole idea in the whole goal the whole purpose of the pattern that Jesus gave so join us if you can so anyhow we dealt with our Father which art in heaven we dealt with hallow would be thy name then we dealt with priorities the kingdom of God praying and declaring that God's kingdom rule and reign be established in our hearts and lives that his will be done the greatest need that you have the greatest need that I have is that Jesus Christ reign in our lives and that his will be done you know I'll just thinking my children you know I don't really I'm not concerned about them being rich and famous and successful as far as the world is concerned but two things that I desire for my children is this that Jesus Christ reign upon the throne of their hearts and that God's will be done in their lives amen is there any better prayer for you to pray first of all for yourself for your family to pray it for a church and we dealt with that last Sunday night the kingdom of God the kingdom of God coming what you're praying for is the kingdom of God coming in power the kingdom of God coming as Paul said in righteousness and peace and joy in the holy go that's what you're praying when you're praying thy kingdom come and again it's a strong affirmative appeal it's like you're putting your foot down in the spirit and you're praying and you're declaring that I will accept nothing less than the kingdom reign of Christ over my life I will accept nothing less than the will of God to be done in my life in my family in our church pray it for our nation amen and if it scares you to pray that pray this way Lord as much as you can do in this dispensation of grace Lord God do it do it all of your power all of your glory as much of your presence as can be known in my life in my family in our church amen Lord just do it best prayer that you can pray so priorities you have the paternal aspect your Father in heaven as a result of the blood of Jesus you have a relationship with God the Father as a result of the blood you have access to his promises he desires to give you the kingdom amen and then what we deal with here the next point in this outline is provision all right and Jesus would say this he would say give us this day our daily bread actually the the literal rendering of that is this give us this day our necessary portion I want you all to pray with me tonight Heavenly Father we ask for your help we ask for your grace Lord once again I'm asking for a spirit of wisdom and revelation to come upon your people Lord God that you would open up this truth this prayer pattern to us this new covenant prayer pattern father so that we can walk in a greater capacity regarding your covenant and regarding the cross so god that's our heart and that's our desire so Lord I'm asking that you reveal it to us make it real oh god may your word become spirit and may it become life we ask it in Jesus name give us this day our daily bread give us this day our necessary portion you just read a few things just some general commentary here regarding that first of all this refers primarily to the supply of our temporal needs with the Hebrews bread was a generic term signifying the necessities and the conveniences of this life such as food housing and clothing however there are many that believe and there it really it applies to both that is referring to spiritual bread the way that I approach this aspect of the pattern that Jesus gave is I approach it from both ways when I pray Lord give me this day - necessary portion I'm praying law in every capacity spiritually materially financially in every way I want your portion for my life all right and that's what you're asking for you're really just expressing your faith and your trust and your dependence upon your Heavenly Father who knows what you have need of even before that you ask you're saying Lord I'm depending upon you to meet my need and you see when you get to this point in the in the pattern all right you're going to be full of faith because you've already spent some time praising and hollowing the name of your heavenly Father and one of his names if you remember was Jehovah Jireh the Lord our provider you see you need to know something today that every need that you have as a believer is met through the Lord Jesus Christ my Bible tells me that he will supply all of our need amen all of our need according to his riches and glory and once you have your priorities right your seeking first remember jesus said this seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and everything else that you have need of will be added unto you do you know that God does not want you to worry not one bit not one iota regarding your provision you can have such a confidence in your heavenly Father because what he's promised in his word and because of the relationship that you have with him through the Lord Jesus Christ that you don't have to worry about anything remember jesus said this he should take no thought for your life what you shall leave what you shall wear where you shall live don't take any thought for don't worry about it those are not your heavenly Father know what you have need of even before you ask so these things that that we are worrying about that we are concerned about these are the very things that God says that if you just seek my kingdom seek my kingdom and my will and fulfil the will of God for your life I will automatically add these things unto you you don't have to sweat it so at this point in this prayer you are expressing your confidence and your trust in your Heavenly Father knowing that he is able to meet every single one of your needs he's blessed you with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places that means everything spirit soul and body he'll supply all of your need because he's faithful he's your Jehovah Jireh you know what another one of his name's is else should I you know what else should I mean it means the god of more than enough the god of more than enough remember Paul said this he said be anxious be worried about nothing remember that flip ian's 4 6 and 7 be anxious be worried about nothing that means no not one thing that's what nothing means in the Greek no not one thing no I don't know that but that's what it means God doesn't want you worrying being anxious about anything because he's faithful you know how many of us as believers we lay in bed at night and we're worried about provision are the needs gonna be met are we gonna be provided for and God is saying just trust me seek my kingdom get your priorities right allow me to reign in your life allow my kingdom to come and my will to be done in your heart and in your life and I will automatically provide those things for you John chapter 6 came from brother Swaggart's commentary Jesus talked about himself being the bread from heaven as Christians we are to depend upon a daily provision of the life of crisises regarding daily bread revert referring to Christ you cannot depend upon your born-again experience that happened in the past or any spiritual experience that happened in the past just as the children of Israel received the manna from heaven on a daily basis we as Christians need to depend upon Christ daily to be our life and our substance many Christians are attempting to live on manna received yesterday or even many days before then they wonder why that there are problems in their lives that's referring to the daily bread in regard to our spiritual sustenance all right so you're a just expressing faith Lord thank you for your provision for my life in every way spiritually materially financially your heavenly Father is gonna take care of you alright so as far as natural provision where else would ask the Lord daily to provide for our physical needs just some practical things here make sure that you're in the will of God amen believe it is God's will to prosper you be specific in your requests also as I said decide to pray instead of worry be tenacious according to Luke 18 1 through 8 and praise the Lord because he is Jehovah Jireh and he sees your need beforehand and makes provision for it he knows again what you have need of so again in this aspect of the Lord's Prayer you're simply expressing your trust your faith your dependence if you have specific requests you let those be made known unto God knowing that your heavenly Father will provide those needs and then we move on to the next point and it's this forgive us of our debts as we forgive our debtors literally the literal translation is this forgive us our sins as we also have been forget or have forgiven those who have sinned against us the word debts here of course means sins if we want to have our prayers answered if we want to be forgiven by God we must forgive those who sin against us so in this aspect of this outline this pattern that Jesus gave us it's an opportunity for you first of all the thing Jesus Christ for his blood and the fact that all of your sin is forgiven do you realize how much of a great debt of sin that you have been released from as God's child as a new covenant believer again going back to the cross going back to the Covenant as an air of God and a joint heir with the Lord Jesus Christ you have forgiveness of sin and cleansing as well a man first John 109 says this if we confess our sin he's what faithful he's just to not only forgive us of our sin but to cleanse us from all unrighteousness it actually should read this way from all unrighteousness is that means it covers everything sins of ignorance everything that you do that is under the blood when your faith is in Christ and what he did on the cross and if there's known sin in your life and you confess it there is forgiveness and cleansing so it's your opportunity as a new covenant believer to lift up your hand say father I thank you for pardon today I thank you for forgiving me of all of my sin not only have you forgiven me Lord God you have cleansed me that blood cleanses to the very depths of your heart that blood cleanses you to the very core of your conscience something that the blood of bulls and goats could not do could not cleanse to the point of the conscience we could have a clean and clear conscience before our God and that's why you can come before your God listen with confidence and with boldness because your heavenly high priest has already going on in amen when you come before your God you don't come before your God with your head hanging low you don't come with a louis me mentality and look at what i've done and look at what a failure look at how i failed you in the past yes if the of course if there's evidence sin than you confess that sin but you come to your heavenly father with uplifted hands lord i thank you for the blood of jesus and because of that blood I can call you my heavenly father and because of that blood I am forgiven of all of my sin it's under the blood you don't have to walk around in guilt and condemnation my friend as long as you're walking in the light as he is in the light remember that scripture says walk in the light as he is in the light first John walk in the light as he is in the light you'll have fellowship one with another that means fellowship with him and the blood of Jesus again cleanses you from all of your sin you're forgiven folks you're forgiven alright understand that know that again going back to one of the covenant names Jehovah sidqa knew you're justified you're righteous in his eyes because of who he is to you in covenant in this aspect of the Lord's Prayer gives us opportunity to confess our sin and our offenses against God and also to forgive those who sin against and offend us this produces a right relationship with the Lord and with our fellow man God wants us to be right with one another and first of all he wants us to be right with him and then right with one another vertically and horizontally all right some things here that you can pray along the lines of forgiveness ask God first of all to forgive you going back to first John 1 and 9 ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas in your life that are not pleasing to God confess your sin agree with God and say what he says about your sin confess means to say the same things when you are confessing your sin you're simply agreeing with God and recognizing that what you are doing or what you have done is sin and you're in agreement with him and by the way this mindset of this thing going around in the in the church regarding this thought that well as believers that we don't need to confess our sin that's a bunch of garbage why would this be in the Lord's Prayer this is not for sinners this is for believers we are the ones who really are the only one you know an unbeliever doesn't even understand what sin is when you come to Christ you confess that you are a sinner as believers now who have the Holy Spirit when we commit sin it will be revealed to us what that sin is and now it's our responsibility to confess that sin to our Heavenly Father again you agree with him you simply agree with what he says beware of condemnation over past sins forgive as often as you want to be forgiven meditate upon the great debt of sin that God has forgiven you see your sin actually causing Jesus suffering on the cross my enact of you'll will forgive those who have sinned against you and release them to God pray those who have wronged you make up your mind to return good for evil by the grace and power of the Holy Spirit within you make a decision by the grace of God to love your enemies bless them that curse you do good to them that hate you pray for them who despitefully use you and persecute you pray that you will be able to experience the fruit of the Spirit in your life which will make it possible for you to treat others the way that they should be treated according to the kingdom of God see you don't want to hold anyone down and you don't want to be held bound with unforgiveness as often as you want to be forgiven by God you've got to forgive you've got to release others and give them over to the Lord and you can only really do that you have to make a decision by an act of your will but you can only really do that by the grace of God you need the grace of God and also by an understanding of the great debt of sin that you have been released from do we as believers really understand the great debt of sin that we have been released from you know in Matthew chapter 18 Jesus he taught that parable on the king and the two servants and I won't turn there but just quickly refer to it that if you remember right that the one servant the king or that servant owed the king I believe it was ten thousand talents that was the equivalent of millions of dollars in fact a little commentary in my Bible says that one talent was 75 pounds of silver one he owed him ten thousand talents and the servant of course he he didn't have it to give him right away and he he bowed down before him and he worshiped him and asked him to have mercy on him and of course as you know the parable he did and then this one who was released this great bed of sin her great debt of money in that regard worth millions of dollars would not even release another one one of his companions friends one of the other servants that old him just a few pennies he wouldn't release him of that Jesus gave that parable to liken the great dead of sin that God has forgiven us which is in monetary terms millions of dollars that we cannot repay I don't know about you but I don't have millions of dollars to repay I don't have it and never will have it but God released us from that debt of sin so the idea is it's the least that we can do is forgive our brother and our sister the small in comparison to our infractions before God the small sins and offenses that we or that they commit toward us we should be able to forgive them amen so remembering the great debt of sin that we have been released from and that will help you to forgive others so forgiveness is a big part in that time you just spend Lourdes search my heart Lord created me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me show if they're being show me if there be any wicked way within me it's the way I prayed Lord if there be any unconfessed sin reveal it to me if there be any trespass against your will father God reveal it to me any transgression against your covenant Lord reveal it to me that I might confess my sin before you and just be sensitive to the Holy Spirit allow the Holy Spirit to deal with you maybe there's some people that you need to you need to forgive you need to release to the Lord allow the Holy Spirit remember this is not a ritual this is a prayer pattern that you are in it to enter into your prayer closet and allow the Holy Spirit to make it real you know one thing and I don't know if I mentioned this yet but everything in this pattern is all about your relationship with your father it's all about your covenant relationship with your Heavenly Father every aspect of it every bit of it so that you can walk with Him and have intimacy with him and have relationship with him every part of it there's I think in this prayer pattern that is selfish in any regard it's all about your kingdom rear your covenant relationship with your heavenly Father that's what it's all about and then the next aspect lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil the literal translation is this do not bring us into the grasp of temptation but deliver us from the evil one when Jesus commands believers to pray lead us not into temptation he is instructing us to pray that forces beyond our control will not lead us into trials he is commanding us to watch and pray against entering in the temptation through our own carelessness or disobedience it is a plea for the providential help of God in our daily confrontation with the temptation of sin let me just make you aware of something here tonight that temptation is not an option what I mean by that is you are going to be tempted every single believer will be tempted I don't care how holy you are I don't care how closely you walk with the Lord you will be tempted it's not if temptation comes it's when temptation comes you will be tempted to commit acts of sin and worst of all you will be tempted to stray away from your faith every day that temptation will be there you can count on it but I can tell you this of a truth that you do not have to enter into that temptation there is victory over that temptation it's going to come but in the cross in the Covenant in the blood there is victory over that temptation glory to God so in this point in this prayer you're calling upon your heavenly Father your mighty deliverer number 1 of his covenant names was Jehovah Nissi that means the the God who fights for you he's your deliverer he's your victory hallelujah and again you know you've spent time praising him and you'll be full of that of his presence and full of that covenant understanding if you will and you'll have a boldness come over you and you'll be able to to make that bold declaration in prayer that I by the grace of God and by the power of the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that I am NOT going to enter in to temptation today not that you're trying to talk yourself out of it but know by the power of God by the power of the Cross you're expressing your trust your dependence upon the cross of Calvary you're depending upon Jesus Christ you're saying that I am NOT going to lean upon my own understanding I'm not gonna lean upon myself my own ability when I'm tempted I'm depending upon the power of the cross of Calvary remember jesus said this to the disciples when they were in the garden he said watch and pray lest you enter in the temptation I'm gonna make a very bold statement here and I believe it to be true if you're not watching and what does it mean to be watching it means you're spiritually alert meaning you have your eyes on Christ you have your eyes on the cross you have a faith that is fixed on Calvary you are watching your spiritually alert and then you're praying I'm going to tell you right now if you're not watching and you are not praying guess what's happening you are entering into temptation most believers are living lives of succumbing to temptation they're being led away by the lusts of their flesh that's where temptation really comes from it's what James said you know here we're blaming the devil for all this know what you were nasty rotten flesh are you humble enough to realize you got nasty rotten flesh and you got passions and desires in your flesh that if you do not submit them to the power of the cross and the blood of Jesus Christ that you will go down that road you will enter in to temptation if your faith is not in Christ and the cross it's a given I'll even save this way it's a spiritual law what do you mean by that I'm talking about the law of sin and death it will overcome you it will overwhelm you and it will sweep you away if you're not living according to the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus so temptations coming my friend so on this point in the prayer you're making your declaration you're praying Lord God my faith is in Calvary I am depending upon the blood upon the cross of Calvary that's my victory and also regarding I've got to hurry here petition here deliver us from evil goes beyond the sense of a test or a trial related to our inclination to sin it introduces the supplication to be saved from the grasping potent power of evil and sheets that seeks to influence overcome and master us and then lead us astray this request involves much more than merely asking to overcome a desire the sin we must also defeat the powerful evil forces seeking to hinder or destroy our lives and God's plan for our lives I want to tell you something here tonight that there is a real devil out there a real enemy that is determined that he wants to destroy you he wants to destroy your faith he wants to destroy your family he wants to destroy our church and this aspect of the prayer your saying Lord God you are my deliverer you are my deliverer I thank you for the armor of God of course we're not to physically put on any armor but by faith you are declaring Lord God I'm taken unto myself by faith the whole armour of God I'm clothing myself with the Lord Jesus Christ he is my belt of truth he is my breastplate of righteousness he is my feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace he is my shield of faith he is my helmet of salvation he is the sword of the Spirit the word of Almighty God amen every day I plead the blood of Jesus over my life I pleaded over my children over my wife over my household over our church over our nation ask the Lord Lord push back the forces of darkness we don't want anything hindering what you desire to do in our lives we don't want anything hindering what you desire to do in our families in our church Oh God pray a hedge of protection around you Psalm 91 dwelling in the secret place of the Most High hidden under the shadow of the Almighty make a bold declaration my God is my refuge he's my fortress he's my god in whom I will Trump fouls and shall fall at my side 10,000 at my right hand no evil will come nigh my dwelling I've made the Lord my God my habitation all I've known his name I've set my love upon him therefore he shall deliver me he shall set me on high it's you just recognising praising thanking and asking he said ask deliver me from evil Satan wants to put a snare before you he wants to destroy you he wants your children you need to stand in the place of Prayer for your children for your family declare the kingdom of God over their life devil you can't have them I plead the blood over my children lead us not into temptation deliver us from every evil influence I think of the prayer of Jabez it says Lord bless us indeed enlarge our borders may your mighty hand be with us many says may you deliver us from evil that it may not cause us harm you know if it wasn't possible for us to be overtaken evil then that request would not be there right and if you don't take a stand living in the power of God's covenant in the cross and you just might find yourself swept away by temptation and overcome by the powers of darkness and I'll tell you you get to this point in this in this outline in this pattern there will be an authority and a boldness will come over you because like I said you spend time praising him for who he is to you your covenant God your Jehovah Nissi your deliverer he's your victorious warrior amen glory to God hallelujah hallelujah I know I got I got to wrap it up here the last part the end and praise all right the end and praise for thine is the kingdom behind is the power you start in praise and worship you end in praise and worship now this statement here for thine is the kingdom - the power thine is the glory you are proclaiming the sovereignty of your God you are putting all of your problems and all of your situations and everything in your life you're putting it alongside the sovereignty of your God he owns it all it's his kingdom it's his power it's his glory and it's forever and forever lord thank you that you allow me to be a partaker of your kingdom thank you that you allow me to be a partaker of your power thank you then you're changing me from glory to glory just praise Him and thank him thank him again that he's your father thank him again for his promises that he's given to you thank him again that he's given you the kingdom of God it's his good pleasure thank him for the provision for your life thank him for pardon thank them for power delivering power just and praise praise him for who he is your God is sovereign he's the omnipotent omniscient I'm not present God of all glory for thine is the kingdom behind as the power thine is the glory it's forever and forever it's from everlasting to everlasting and then even the Amen has covenant provisions and is anointed you know what Amen means this is truth let it be so it shall be Lord what I have prayed according to your covenant according to your will according to your kingdom it shall be your kingdom shall come your Will shall be done glory to God your deliverance will come in the name of Jesus glory it shall be let it be so this is true so what you have in this prayer pattern again don't make a ritual out of it you have a new covenant pattern and I'm convinced the more that I understand it the more that I know it that God gave it to us the Lord gave it to us to line us up with his covenant so that we can have our focus on the cross and we can live our lives in the realm of the Covenant in the realm of the kingdom of God and I'll tell you you get in your prayer closet listen to me you get in your prayer closet and you start at the Our Father you say well brother I just don't know I just don't get that I don't understand at all I can't remember all that I'll expect you remember get in your prayer closet take that outline and say Lord teach me be like those disciples in Luke 11 to Lord teach to pray and that's the Holy Spirit to open it up to you make it real to you take the basic thoughts that I've given you and the Holy Spirit will begin to make it real to you you will find yourself listening to me you struggle to spend ten minutes in prayer you'll find yourself pray in an hour and longer I remember when I first got a hold of this as a young man and forgive me um I need to close here but as a young man when I first got a hold of this I went from a man during pray in 20 30 minutes and yes I was baptized in the Holy Spirit but I just felt most of the time I didn't have any direction and then when I got a hold of this I was praying two to two and a half hours every morning I had the time to do it then and the presence of God that was that I was experiencing and not only in that prayer time but just throughout the day it's like I entered in to the provisions and the benefits of the New Covenant I can't even put it into words but Jesus gave it to us for a reason it's not in there just to fill up space it's not in there just for you to put a necklace around your neck a plaque on the wall for the Catholics to use for the penance no Jesus gave it to help us to line up and walk in the power and the glory of the Cross and the weather and the realm of Covenant and now it's up to you what you're gonna do with it all right it's in there it's in the book ask the Holy Spirit that's the Lord to make it real to you and he will he'll be faithful but you got to want to I believe that you have to want to have a better not just a better prayer you want a better relationship with God amen see this pattern that he gave it will give you the best relationship that you can have with your heavenly Father when you enter into it and you pray it by faith Heavenly Father we love you tonight we thank you for your word we thank you for your truth and Lord I'm just asking that you would make this real to your people father I know that I didn't really do it justice father God but take these stumbling words Lord and just reveal this truth to them Lord this covenant pattern that you gave us nada you didn't suggest that we pray it you commanded that we pray it because you knew that if we would get in our prayer closet and we and we would pray it that we would have the greatest relationship that we can possibly have with you that we could walk in liberty that we could walk in freedom that we could walk in deliverance that we could walk in your covenant benefits in your covenant blessings and Lord I want that for your people Lord that the cross will become more real to us Lord that we will experience the cross in a greater way Lord God in our lives that's the goal and that's the purpose of it and father we thank you for it and we praise we say it in Jesus name Amen and amen hallelujah as they sing whatever they're going to sing I'm just gonna ask you to slip up your hands and just worship Him and that's the Holy Spirit to help you and to make these truths real to you and he will if you ask from a sincere heart
