The Elder Scrolls Oblivion - PBG

oblivion is an amazing game stop right there criminal scum what's going on it's like one of the best rpgs ever made speed look just trust me it's really good okay i'm roxanne bridgette i help the boys [Music] a long time ago i did a video on the original elder scrolls the elder scrolls arena where we told the story of lord peebington ii well i always meant to cover more games in the series but uh just never got around to it i guess but whatever better late than never right let's take a look at not only my favorite elder scrolls game but one of my favorite games of all time the elder scrolls 4 oblivion first things first we have to create our character and of course you can't make a video about oblivion without making the absolute weirdest looking character possible not lord peepington the second but his descendant lord peepington the sixth he sees you when you're sleeping he knows when you're awake and he's not bringing any presents i always really liked how you could slide your character all over the place on the menu screen no no no no no no yes yes in typical elder scrolls fashion we start off as a prisoner there's no telling what kind of sick evil atrocities lord peepington the sixth committed in his past but oh well patrick stewart likes me let me see your face hello so all is apparently forgiven i mean who who cares just let them all out that guy over there is pretty nice you're going to die let him out too why not peepington is going to use this chance to go straight or at least mostly straight anyway he's not going to murder anyone probably i mean he does have a human skull collection but he finds them all out in the wild they're all natural murder-free human skulls free-range human skulls it's a legitimate cruelty-free hobby all right before we go any further i guess we should talk about the story a little bit for 87 years king patrick stewart has had dreams of our boy peepington and a lot of dreams about hell i mean having dreams about peepington for 87 years is kind of a hell in and of itself i would think but if that wasn't bad enough all of his sons got killed that sucks and he wants to give me some necklace called the amulet of kings that's important for reasons that i don't feel like explaining i can go no further you will learn he's going to come he's going to come out right there no no he he he's going to come out right right here i'm telling you i i played this game before no no you don't want to you know give me the english you know you should just try this isn't me all right but okay i try to do it look i i tried to tell you i i tried to tell him i tried to where's the amulet of kings it wasn't on the emperor's body all right i know this is gonna look a little bad but uh the king is dead he got killed uh while you were out there in the other room and just before he died he gave me the amulet and uh and uh i didn't kill him i know i was in prison like five seconds ago but the king you saw me in the dream remember we're cool we're cool boris over here believes peepington for some reason and we're off ah a brand new adventure ah no i don't want horse armor to be my active quest god well that whole thing with the king dying and the amulet or whatever sounded pretty important but uh we'll take care of it later right i've played this game for hundreds of hours but because it's so big there's still a bunch of stuff i haven't done yet and one of those things is the mages guild quest line now the mages guild is pretty important because not only is it one of the main factions that you can join it's also home to the most broken thing in the entire game this random altar with this alter you can craft your own spells anything from damaging spells healing spells to spells that make you run insanely fast but in order to make these spells first we need some money luckily we can use some charm spells from the mages guild quests on the vendors to make them like us more for just long enough to squeeze as much money out of them as possible wait hold on yeah before we can do business i just have to do this to you a few times and uh all right well met we're good completely normal interaction the only problem is that my staff of charm looks exactly like most of my other staffs and sometimes i am get them mixed up i just gotta get the heck out of here hey stop you violated the law you've not yet downloaded afk arena on your iphone or android mobile device here i did it for you wow thanks random guy afk arena is a strategic rpg featuring over 100 different heroes beautifully realized in its signature fresco-like art style as you progress through the game you'll gain access to several different modes including the campaign arena pvp the puzzle like kings tower and the recently introduced card battler mode war of wits let's check it out unlike the rest of the game war of wits pits you against an opponent in real time games last about five minutes wherein both players will draw from a deck of equally leveled heroes to assemble a team for battle hero cards can be combined with either copies of themselves to increase their level or as sets of similar kinds to gain special bonuses and faction advantages relics on the other hand provide special abilities that you can use to execute your grand strategy and ensure that your team is the strongest there's 80 hero cards split evenly among four factions and 24 different relic cards so the strategy and choices will always stay fresh you'll want to combine and level up your cards wisely but keep in mind that your opponent can also see the heroes that you've chosen just as you can the mind games are endless unless you're playing against me in which case i'll probably just pick the coolest looking ones to be honest afk arena me lady anyway and so lord peepington vi tirelessly trained in the magical arts by doing quests [Music] yes quests but mainly by otto running into the wall and casting the same spell on himself over and over and over after hours and hours of hard work and dedication i'm so good at this game dude [Music] how are you i'm good all right [Music] all right that's enough celebration for now it's time to get back to training can i help you pickpocket i'm a little busy here okay he became the greatest magic man of all time oh now with the power to destroy every living being who dares stand before him but peepington would never do that he's a reformed man remember you know a reformed man who just so happens to have a human skull collection piling up in his house hey everybody has their hobbies now i love this game and i always will but even i have to admit that it's got some problems stay safe citizen these are dark times like um glitches for example lord peebington vi master of the magical arts wielder of the creepy goblin head staff hero of the battle you have my ear citizen where you know hold on i can't see i'm [ __ ] up hey hey come back i'm talking to you the emperor's over here trying to give some rousing battle speech and there's just two horses floating in the air wayne on friary horse [Music] if you use the previously mentioned magic creation altar you can chain stack just about as many spells on yourself as you want even if they have the exact same buff effects here i've given myself 1 112 in the acrobatic skill which just in case you haven't played this game before uh is more than you're supposed to have alright here we go [Applause] if you give yourself enough acrobatics you can jump straight over city walls and just run around until you inevitably fall off an invisible cliff and die but it's not just glitches if i take my nostalgia goggles off for a bit there's a there's a bunch of other stuff too you know just just a couple just a couple things for example the leveling system when you create your character you choose seven different major skills and you'll only level up when you improve those specific skills sounds great in theory and it does create better role-playing characters but the way it works in practice often devolves into just casting the same spell on yourself over and over or finding some random spot in the world where you can just jump as fast as humanly possible to level up your acrobatics welcome to the elder scrolls oblivion if you're not spamming the jump button everywhere you go you're doing it wrong the ai is bad the relationship system is so weird one second i'm the best guy in the entire world it was an honor to serve with you sir and the next he hates my guts i'm done talking to you probably because you accidentally killed somebody in a battle a few minutes ago but i mean let's be real that's almost impossible to not do and don't even get me started on that stupid personality wheel minigame yes yes that's just not funny don't waste your well done wow what a completely believable conversation we just had i am so immersed into this video game world right now but as i mentioned before despite all its flaws i still love this game so much and if anything the flaws just make me like it more i mean criticize the npc conversations all you want but how can you not love this they say the dragon statue is 100 feet high oh hello good sir hello good sir but it does so many other things well especially for when it came out all the different guild quest lines the daedric quests and items almost all the quests in the game are good actually and there's tons of dlc after you're done with a plethora of main game content but outside the mages guild and a few other random things i didn't have time to do too much of that because i have to finish this video eventually but also because i spent way too much time messing around with the spell creation system the most important spell being big boy blast it does 100 shock damage on touch 100 fire damage on touch 100 frost damage on touch and it charms for 100 points on touch you know you really want them to like you right before they get exploded and just for good measure it also summons a scamp for three seconds why not alright let's give this baby a try big boy [Music] it just if you don't like this video and subscribe peepington will cast big boy blast upon you now that our hero has his signature spell it's time to take on the main quest line after the emperor was assassinated oblivion gates start opening up all over cyrodiil and demons begin attacking people but as it turns out patrick stewart actually does have one remaining heir a man by the name of martin i mean boromir in any case we need the amulet first and boromir along with amulet of kings is the only hope to save the world from the wrath of the evil lord dagin who's like some big baddie from hell presumably so i guess we should probably help him do something about that but first we've gotta save him from the city of kvatch which is currently under siege by the daedra luckily since we screwed around doing all that other stuff for so long we're already level 16 so i'm sure this is gonna be a cinch oh god oh no oh no okay okay no no no no no no no please stop it we can talk about this um let's just go ahead and uh yeah show me what you've got all right we saved yeah what they said boromir has you do a bunch of stuff like infiltrate a daedric cult and steal some book for him take up the dagger and offer lord dagon the sacrificial red drink i i really don't want to do that actually really um i think uh plan b i'll just um take the book bye-bye um all right all right fine uh uh i'll just kill the guy i'll i'll just kill him whatever eventually you get to the worst quest in the whole game that has you go to every city and destroy their oblivion gates as cool as the oblivion gates are they really do get dull after a while and once you've seen one you've really seen them all so we're just gonna stack some jumping spells here and uh okay this was higher than i thought we were gonna go i'm not actually sure we're gonna come down at any point soon so let's let's just move on to the next thing lord against evil plot has been foiled again by broken bethesda game mechanics but lord dagon doesn't just have oblivion gates up his sleeve he has another trick an even bigger oblivion gate than those other ones but it's no match for lord peebington big boy before i blast hold on i gotta recharge my magicka after that we head to some weird dimension that serves as a sort of hell for lord dakin's followers where they're tortured for all eternity and are unable to be killed correction uh they actually can be killed you know it's um worth noting i guess we defeat degen's most loyal servant mankar cameron who i probably should have mentioned earlier and we get the amulet of kings back and everything's good now except that it's not you know because degan himself is attacking the imperial city now and killing everyone in sight so that's kind of a problem normally the game would end with the emperor turning into some kind of dragon thing and then sacrificing himself an epic fashion to kill lord again but that is not how this story ends the only person who can truly defeat lord dagen is lord peepington and his signature move big and so lord peebington defeated mae runestagen and became the hero of the imperial city he continued honing his craft creating even more broken spells just for the fun of it but mainly he spent his time collecting even more human skulls to add to his collection as he was responsible for saving the entire world the guards let this practice slide but as his collection grew often spilling out of the windows of his waterfront home it became harder and harder to look the other way eventually the guards gathered to arrest lord fevington for his many crimes but he killed them all and then took their skulls and he was never heard from [Music] [Music] please don't take my scar away oh baby till you hold me in my dreams paving to your own place spare me baby turtle please i will spare me
