The Easy Way To Create T-Shirt Designs - Canva and Adobe Illustrator - Text Based Designs - POD Etsy

what's up my name is Reggie if you new to the channel I make a full-time living selling t-shirts online and in this video right here I'm going to show you a few ways and how to make t-shirt designs so before we get started we're still living in bizarre times at this point in town we're living in the corona virus quarantine time maybe you're seeing this in the future if this video ages but in this moment we're living in some bizarre times anyways in a previous video I was talking about stalks and I don't have the highest level of expertise in that so I asked some of you guys for help and by when is that by win or be win I hope I'm pronouncing it right recommend it the James altered podcast episode 558 and in that podcast it gave us some very great advice in regards to stocks at this very moment even if you're a beginner give that podcast a listen and it had some very valuable info anyways let's get into designing some t-shirts I'm going to show you two different ways one of them is using Adobe Illustrator and the other one is using canva which is a website and also an app so you can use this mobile or on the desktop so whichever you prefer the camera account that I am on is the pro account is I believe it's 13 or 14 bucks a month please use my affiliate link down below you can get a free trial for 30 days and I get a little bit of a kickback with no extra cost to you even if you just tried the free trial so please give it a try so if you have a small business and you can't quite afford a designer this tool this website it comes very handy because not only can you just design teachers but you can do stuff for Instagram posts flyers posters social media presentations infographics Facebook covers on and on it is a very very useful tool and it will make you look a lot less plain so um you can also do logos and look at these logos too all you have to do is click on the logo that you want and change the text and these are some quality items and check out this social media graphic right here live laugh love that also has the video elements so that's a very nice extra touch anyways we're gonna get straight into making some t-shirts um so let me type in where is it right here create a design I'm just gonna type in a t-shirt and it's gonna give you a whole list of designs templates cater to t-shirts so before we get a t-shirt design going let's get some inspiration let's head on to Google like I said it's coronavirus time let's go ahead and read this right here first wash your hands make sure y'all washing our hands if y'all weren't washing it before you go nasty if you're a man and you gotta use the restroom and you don't wash our hands y'all nasty because I see y'all do it all the time and you don't know how many times I try not to be next I'm just gonna freakin call you yet cuz I'm so tired of it get your husband's get your boyfriend's tell them to wash their hands when they leave the restroom elbow copping to it I just dabbed I guess face don't touch it if I touch my face during this video let me know feet stay more than three feet apart feel sick stay home I feel pretty good I'm still staying home so do those five things alright um let's type in what holiday is coming up what niche can we do let's see so Mother's Day is coming up so I just typed in Mother's Day shirt ideas I'm gonna click on images let's take a quick look so we get blessed mom you are the queen chaos coordinator that could possibly be trademarked at this time I'm not really sure but let's just keep looking mom is always right so so with something like this you can do really targeted niche like some moms could be math teachers mom is always right they would like that let's keep looking I don't really see anything too crazy I'm just gonna do this right here for the heck of it tire doesn't mutter so let's go ahead and head on back to canvas and we're just gonna scroll down see what kind of designs that we like we're just gonna click let's click on this one right here so I'm going to click on this background text tired-ass and then I'm gonna click on this front tips a letter check that out let's make this a little bit bigger so I can't really do it that way but what I can do is type it in there we add it it's really that simple if we don't really like that design we can just keep on moving forward I'm sorry I wasn't really trying to read this I was reading a SOHO low-res but it says sophomores so paul mones let's keep going down look at this one right here that won't necessarily wear it too much hmm something like that simple always does the trick and click tired as a Mudder so we do this all day long until we find something that we definitely like okay here we go let's do this one replace current oops tired-ass let's just delete that part you'll put ass right here in the center as a no we're gonna do murder and what we want to do is center all of it so we're gonna hit control a or command a if you're on Mac click position we're gonna mill and we're good to go doesn't look too centered so don't worry trust that too much we're gonna move it up to the top as much as possible because when you upload this to a pre on-demand website you're gonna want it to be as close to the top as possible so it should be good this looks off-centered so what you can do is click ungroup and it moved us individually let's change this color to pink and we're also gonna change this block to pink oh no we want the block please so it's kind of hard to click on the blog because the text is in a way so what do you want to do shrink down the text for a quick second and click on the block click on the color pink and then we're gonna resize the text right back there we go and what we're gonna do is delete the background that means we need this text to be black and there we have it irate don't like how solid this is me just being perfection I don't like how solid that black is in comparison to the pink so I'm just gonna make it maybe gray that's better for me so now at this point in time right here is when you need the pro account when you click download you're going to need a PNG and you're going to need a transparent background because you don't want that white background to print on a shirt whenever you uploaded to a pram to my website let's say if you had a black shirt and you saved as a JPEG it's gonna have the background included it's gonna include a white box you want the PNG transparent background so you do need to pro account to save it in that format however I'm pretty sure you can save it as a JPEG and there's probably you can Google JPEG to PNG transparent background free and there should be a converter somewhere I'll try to give that looking out posting in the comments down below so that is how you do a t-shirt design with canva for free and like I said there's plenty of other things you can use it for just in general so um that's camera the next one that I'm use is my most favorite favorite favorite ever I use this for everything this is how I make my youtube intros this is how I get my stock sounds this is how I get my stock video is how I get a lot of elements it's called elements by ambato element envato comp I paid $200 a year for it I believe was that come down to like 13 somewhere between 30 and 20 bucks and love thinking like 15 I don't know I suck at math but it's worth every single penny some time ago I realized I would never be the greatest designer ever so I need a little push I need some aid I need some help in it so this is what helps me out and this is how I get some cool fondant so I get some cool logos let's open this up right here you can download this change the fonts you can use this for a gaming t-shirt like it says or you can use this as a mascot for like a dodgeball team volleyball team anything the list goes on just keep on giving it a little let's look at volleyball team logos there you have it we have some graphic templates don't see any volleyballs but check out these fonts though it's awesome and also in the last video somebody asked me how do I make the font with these cool little swashes and cool little alternate texts and glyphs and whatnot so I'm gonna show you that as well look how cool that is so I'm going my back and forth now I'm back at the volleyball team logos here's one right here wrap there's volleyball there's a soccer team there's a volleyball team all you have to do is download it and you can change the text it is awesome I promise you especially you're just starting off of graphic design it's gonna take a little bit of time to learn not only would this give you a step ahead but I'll also help you to learn it because whenever you download a file and you kind of break it down you can kind of understand somebody else's process in making that design so that is one way to learn just think about when you first start learning music it's easier for you to play somebody else's song than to make up your own then eventually over time the more you learn from this song and that song the end up being able to make your own song easier so this is a great way to learn design as well so let's go ahead and download this one right here because this font is pretty cool so I have that bond download it since we did some Mother's Day t-shirt inspiration we're gonna go ahead and look at some Father's Day t-shirt ideas and then we're gonna make something with the font that we just downloaded let's give that a quick look happy for spotter's day dad's we're beards are better let's see what else I have a hero a column dad retired mmm hunt fish prey repeat that's pretty cool let's do it's gonna do this on Dad's four beers are better let's do that don't have bullets instead of a beer which it kind of makes sense by the same time not really so stepping dad's stepping axe well which is the font we just downloaded ten made it ten inches wide so we have that open if you want to see how I did the glyphs and the last one in Adobe Illustrator all you have to do is select the letter and it has additional glyphs it'll pop up down below in alternate style so if I click this one it's gonna give me a different type of egg or if you want you can exit out that entire thing click on type and then click on glyphs and then you can see the entire font and every single letter that you typically would not see if you just type that in so if I click on this right here and I just all I have to do is just click on the letter that I want to see up and over here let's see what we want so all I have to do is click on like a letter that I want to see maybe a double click down that's give me a different type of T if I want to scroll down I see if they have any different type of s is this font doesn't have as many alternate Texas but let's go ahead and go to the previous one unused yeah this is the one I used in the last video oh okay so this is that fun I've never changed it to ax well okay I've never changed up on that so I got confused for a quick second so I'm on the same font that I'm used in that last video so here's the deed right here I clicked in select it if you can see I have the additional glyphs down below or you can just use this entire window of glyphs so you can see which one you want to select as you can see there's multiple different types of DS that I can click on so I'm gonna click on that one and that one was pretty neat because I love it when a swatch goes over to text and gives it that extra crater feel so that is pretty neat and we're just gonna hit escape real quick I'm gonna exit out of this and now I'm just gonna do too to the techs what was it again dads are something with beards that's what beards are better so now I'm just gonna click T again type woof down here I'm gonna go down to my inches make it maybe like seven inches I'll really like that too much now I'm using two different fonts because ax was coming up now I'm just gonna go up the original it's a Cana say Cana say Connor don't know how to say it but here you are with edging see it I changed at E and H because sometimes they already have symbols that matches two letters and whatnot so now I'm going to resize it this is a quick tip make sure you're always holding ship and illustrator you don't want font that looks like that and I see a lot of people do this whenever to first start off this is a very immature remove because you can't read that it's distorted so whenever you resize something make sure you're always holding shift oops oops hit escape dad's with beards sealing china's d into something okay now we're gonna make the whip a little bit smaller okay so i'm slightly irritated because i can't get everything fit how wanted to within this period right now i probably could if i gave it like another ten minutes or so but it's gonna get me a little bit irritated but let me go ahead and show you a little bit more of the website so now i just typed in beard and now we can add even more elements if you wanted to akka download this picture right here of this beard guy download this whole entire set right here if i wanted to i could just download this and change the text of that to dads what beards are better the list goes on the possibility is practically endless and this is a pretty handy website to use man is worth every single dollar i am telling you especially just the fonts alone make up for all of it because I'm used to just keep buying fonts from creative markets but it starts to add up but let me show you two fonts that are very very popular and that will be it for the video so if you want to make just a very text-based t-shirt the most popular font in this whole entire t-shirt world is baby's new if that's how you say it a lot of people use this for their YouTube thumbnails a lot of people use this for t-shirts it's just the most popular font ever like check out how clean it is so if you're really just looking for a text t-shirt use this font right here it's always going to be a winner now there's this other script font very very popular as well you can get it on creative market please use my link down below if you're looking to purchase it because I'm pretty sure you've seen this font plenty of times the font is medina script this is it right here very very very popular font those are two very popular fonts medina script and Babers new so i hope that helped you don't have to be the best designer in the whole entire world to sell t-shirts all right but I hope this just gives you a little bit more of a creative edge to help you out anyways well if these bizarre times going on I think I'm also gonna add in some videos of how I made money in the past where I was more hands-on like when I was in college I used to be able to book a wedding videography gig at least once or twice every single mom so I'm gonna show you how I get leads on that and you don't even have to be the best videographer in the world just like grab design I'm not the best graphic designer in the world I know just enough to get some sales in the same thing for wedding videography I needs to be able to get a whole bunch of gigs I'm also gonna make a full-on heat transfer vinyl course and I'm gonna upload that to you Dimmie and I'm gonna have that for free just for a couple weeks just for y'all so just in case you want to start a heat transfer vinyl business it is a very easy way to pick up some extra money you don't even need a vinyl cutter and you don't even need that much design skills you can literally just buy a $200 cheap heat press even touch on my graphic design past and how I was able to make a full-time income was in high school and right prior to college and in college so I'm not even touching on that just so anybody who's
