pete davidson's father tragically died during the attacks on the world trade center in new york city september 11 2001. pete was just seven years old his whole life was turned upside down and american heroes pete was just seven years old when he had to deal with the trauma of losing his father as sad as it is this is probably the reason behind his successful career kids didn't feel bad for didn't take much more than a quick train ride or a bus ride into the city with tons of comedy clubs and open mics after just two months of doing comedy he got a job opening for bob levy who was a stand-up comedian also from staten island he only had about five minutes worth of material and was already touring however the incredibly inexperienced teen was forced to do 30-minute sets which helped him learn how to work a crowd crowd may be a bit of an overstatement this tour was at local pizza shops dive bars bowling alleys and 10 person clubs not ballrooms regardless the experience is which is a type of inflammatory bowel disease that causes weight loss extreme stomach pain cramps and is not curable what seemed to be a never-ending list of trauma ultimately made pete a pretty funny know but i never from the inside but before i got the show i didn't know about it they still gave him the job i can't figure out if pete was just genuinely funny and people believed in him people felt bad for him because of his father or if he was a true hustler and is downplaying the work he put in most comedians struggle doing open mics for 10 years before being able to headline a club get a tv
