I don't hear anyone talking about the doctor examination. If you go back and watch it. When the doctor asks him to walk forward, he walks(wobbles) forward like he's drunk. That's not a good sign.
This is def not how NYSAC is explaining the sequence of events. The doctors deemed Weidman as unfit to fight. He didn't know what day it was, this is all on tape. Once they deemed him unfit to fight, the call is do you disqualify Gegard because the knees are illegal, or do you hand him the TKO victory because the knees were legal.
Christ YouTube comments are some of the most stupid shit. All I want to do is correct people who are wrong about this shit but I know it's futile because I'll just get dragged into some of the most idiotic arguments ever.
Joe still doesn't know the rules. He keeps saying how close it was to being illegal. Basically implying that fingers tips count as a grounded opponent when in reality it's the palms that need to be touching for someone to be considered a grounded opponent. I think what happened Saturday was partially due to the fact that these are new rules that have really only been in place for a few months now, so there's bound to be a few hiccups at the beginning. But I think with time people will adapt and there will less controversial calls in the near future (pertaining to what constitutes a grounded opponent).

Good job linking to the official video and not one of those people who steal podcast footage
The main point that Joe is missing is that it was a Doctor's stoppage not the commission. If the doc thought he was fit to fight he would've let him fight.
My understanding was once they got the doctor involved, checked Weidman, and the doctor determined that Weidman could (or should) not continue, that's when the fight stopped.
Dan Miragliotta is almost as big as Nate Diaz
