well good morning guess what day is today is day one on FLW Tour I know the tour it starts today this is days one and well what I gotta do I gotta go like hereby yeah we gotta go wake everybody up so thank you Scott hey you don't really like waking up real early he asleep hey can't sleep turned in time if you'd already but you know everybody's gotta get up some time so this can't wake him up look I see if these rain good cuz I mean this time I mean this kids pretty close we got a few minutes might as well get an early jump on Scott you better knock my ears off ain't no crazy I'm just here to try the hell are you gonna hi I'm Billy it's time to get up today is day one of FLW Tour it Cherokee late and we gotta go you ready okay I'm gonna go start some coffee guys I am like really breakdown guys I'm really uh he's out of control day one I fell of you Lake Cherokee he's getting under way oh you got two sandwiches yeah Windham uh-oh what my plan is I'm gonna catch me a big old bag first thing and then I just eats and drink for the rest of it if you did kiss me that come find me alright so we're at the ramp and uh that's exactly right there Gilly what my first spots got look like right there yeah a lot of lotta bucks you only get one yeah you want to get one make it happen you ready for a good day yes sir it's up man how you doing good how are you what's your name Joe Morgan alright pleasure to meet you Brooke you ready yes sir see you a fish in high school yeah fish high school good how are you I'm 16 first time being a marshal you serve well guys were getting ready to blast off about 23 and I want to dedicate this tournament to the Jacobs family Irwin Jacobs and his wife tragically lost her life yesterday we found out about it they own FLW the Jacobs family has been a huge huge part of bass-fishing Jacob Kerwin Jacobs has been a complete visionary for this sport he's done amazing things and we're gonna miss him greatly his wife the Jacobs family is going through a lot right now I can't even imagine what Trish and her family are going through right now but I just want to let you guys know that I'm I'm fishing for them today it's a a tragic tragic thing so just send some prayers up for the Jacobs family that's it so let's go get ready to get started [Music] [Music] there was one right in here but I didn't see in the last day of practice there's another one right up here that I saw for sure it's like a four pounder got down jumped off [Music] and they're getting a deep dude he's 50 so when I wait pouring there's a little tip for you a way pointed he's fish - both of this fish I caught I had him wait for you just to keep track keep track of them I changed the icon to a skull and crossbones so I know that I've caught the fish I still may come back and fish it thinking there's a female there but at least I know if I don't get like I'll get confused over four days I catch these or did I not catch these so change the icon from a regular icon to a skull and crossbones so I know that those two fish are gone that's a good one that's a real good one there God ladies are hurting that dude I can't get get him up I don't know what to do God Lee he's not that big he was as mean as crap dude [Music] man there's nobody in here dude I cannot believe it I honestly thought we're in better shape than I thought because I thought they would literally be five boats in here this one's only like two up or that might be the mail there's there's a four pounder close to a four pounder right here that's a good one [Music] melenik thank you lord that's my quickest limb of the year right there my friend very nice thank you Lord there was one up there but he didn't look big there was like a four five pounder up here maybe that's him yeah that's him drink you gotta be freakin kidding me dude that's crazy dude all right he's right there on that little point of that rod oven I'll come back maybe get him if there comes a charm I don't know man I'm not gonna get freaked out over it got to just catch another one but that is that's just to me that is that was that's crazy I don't know guys yeah that's a 357 337 so it's a different fish all right a little move go to some of the bigger ones that I've got marked and trying to get those and get up to 16 17 pounds and then go investigate some new stuff close to 1/2 came off big take him [Music] send everyone you got a pretty good come out of a fork of that tree right there that's a real encouraging bite the kiss that bite was right where it's supposed to be yeah right like he was supposed to did everything the wait oh crap did everything to get in the live wheel just right so that's a real encouraging bite these on that day now Wow in fact the moves in it my line was taking off that's how you know their own beds that's a goal it's just a little small mouth Oh God is it you it's big large now play this one good oh yes yes thank you look at that big yeah yeah man I flipped a single out in front of me hey flip that stick bait out in front of me and that thing dude is incres is putting a work on them today oh it's a burro big one dude Oh thought he's bigger than that but he's still good one before okay there's like these things you're kicking my tail I've caught a million small now and they're making me feel like an idiot that's okay it's okay - twelve - and three-quarters dude I can't believe there's not like boats for round circles in it that tells me that people didn't think they were solid and good I mean a lot of boats practiced in there every time I came in here there was boats and you can see them I mean like you can just look down and see the fish swimming around the good one I mean so why aren't there like a whole bunch of people here oh don't do that quit now put in the net yes oh thank you lord thank you lord that helps a lot three pound that helps by half a pound Oh No that look like it to be honest with you yeah I don't think it's him but it's hard to tell when he's fish jump to 11 almost to 12 largemouth bass come back over there his little spot I will last cast I caught one I didn't know of it two and a half survived again I had I'm getting a little tired of saying that but I'm sure I'm glad I got 15 of 16 pounds it could have been a lot different but they're gonna catch him they're gonna catch him today but you don't want it's all about consistency so if I can go out tomorrow catch them a little bit better get everybody out of the way chikka wait this thing I'm not out of it by any means I'll be in real good shape [Music] [Music] I'm always ready for this manner I'm Scott Barton you may have heard of it resided close to Florida he's got a good limit in the bag as well all Brown Fischer was there a large male hiding in there I caught a couple pretty nice large about that I just throw him back as I said I'll just want to keep practicing my smallmouth skills heard that probably good ones even dude a good day for Scott Martin he's gonna get going on this event 16 pounds 8 ounces today Scott Martin Tom Remington he's got his limit he's making his way over Royce City Texas is where he resides actually during the tourist season you kind of reside all over the country don't you yeah I left two weeks ago I'll be home the middle of May himself that's the way it rolls man but he's got a solid start on day one how about 14 pounds three ounces to start this thing up all right well today did kill exactly as planned started out I was gonna get smallmouth gonna run up up to lay catch some large mouth and really upgrade go for a big bag and I got a couple small mouths early and I started catching stripers and that was no fun the big fish but now what you want the largemouth didn't go at one o'clock we got to fish so I said man I'm gonna come back down his salvage today start catching the smallmouth get one get two and then bang bang bang you'll see on the film man I walked in this afternoon and I'm excited go out tomorrow's we rainy the largemouth to get a bite so I'm gonna get some small out and some largemouth and none of those drivers just a largemouth Andrew Upshaw right here with me out of Tulsa Oklahoma five baths fun day it was a great day I couldn't can't complain yeah I got to catch them on a strike team bait and lose rod and reel and at any time you get to do that it's a lot of fun all right well Johnny McCombs is your current leader in this tournament he's got 17 pounds 1 ounce I've seen some updates on you today and it's just what I thought new leader 18 pounds 6 ounces for you Upshaw day 1 had 18 6 I can't I can't even put into words like I feel like I'm on like cloud 9 or whatever they say that is truly an epic feeling mainly by about 9:30 this morning so you can only imagine the chaos of catching those fish that early broke para lost one after that and fell into the net swam down into it I mean just it was my day and hopefully tomorrow's my day soon let's bring on a former Forrest Wood Cup champ right here John Cox bring it on what oh man you know I was really looking forward today but you know I struggled and you know go take the crest liner tomorrow and run all over this place again maybe figure something else out that's what we do man you ran it all over the pond today oh yeah I had to slow down to about 3,500 rpm because I was running out of gas and I didn't feel like stopping so that under staying 5 bands today for John Cox dude like I say wait until we see these results at the end of the day 13 pounds 13 ounces right now hey guys day one is over had 13 something I'm probably gonna be in like 80th to a hundred you know it's crazy that everybody's catching fish but I think 18 pounds is leading and so you know anything can happen just need to get a big one tomorrow and we're gonna run all over the place and maybe maybe we can go fish next to Andrew or something for a little bit here you go man this is one of my favorite guys on the tour right now just because your excitement level and your attitude man inspire me to even have more fun and do what I'm doing man that's good man we're fishing why would I be upset I mean not many people get to do this I have enough guts to get out here and try it so I got nothing to be mad about man I get zel rolling some props for doing that seminar during the marshal meeting I listen to this guy give one to yesterday your inspirational man there is no doubt about it and let's see what kind of damage you got for me today B lat Brian Latimer he's out of belt in South Carolina he does have his limit and they weigh 14 pounds seven ounces to date B lat so 14-7 today I'm happy with it puts me like probably in 50 or 60 years play thumb I'm guessing but you know I actually didn't catch that many fish today I'll call it like 12 I was supposed to kiss 20 that's what I was thinking is gonna be like practice was kind of good at the last day so uh it's gonna be interesting to see how it falls out tomorrow a lot of guys are catching betters so am I so what we call today is gone no more replenishing see you tomorrow I guess well sixteen eight not bad not bad I'm happy with it I left a few out there which hopefully I can get on tomorrow and hopefully I can catch a couple big ones tomorrow Andrew had a fantastic day he's leading the tournament right now at the 18th Tom did pretty good I have a feeling everybody's gonna catch them pretty good guys so they was in the books I'm gonna get back to the house just formulate a plan for tomorrow figure out where I can catch me another big old bag good morning I wore special shirt today or in the kicker shirt today does I need kickers cuz everybody's catching kickers and if I don't get Brandon any kickers today five cares twenty five kickers yes please don't have as many for buck well we have our sandwiches sandwiches for this morning we have a tournament leader right there good luck today Jack them up Jack them up all you need is like another eighteen do you put some spread on these boys it'd be awesome yeah or maybe you catch 18 I catch 16 and we'll be one and two don't in like I like that I like that a lot actually that's cool yeah so I'm in 11th I'm 2 pounds from the lead and also 2 pounds from 60th have a scary get my hat where's my hat where is everybody all right I've got some news for y'all today today I'm excited about the marshal month the reason we're not at march to the sea don't mean I'm gonna know is that they have a hundred and sixty-five boats and they have about 100 and I don't know over 100 marshals but it's hard to fill 165 boats with marshal so there's times and it's random draw that guys won't have a marshal and so we record everything we have cameras we have an FLV camera in here before my cameras and that is the deal so today you're my marshal and I'm excited about that because when you're by yourself not boring right but it's not a nobody guess so all right that's a good one yes that's a real good one dude yes let's go this side little oh that's a spot it's a spotted bass 12 inches well limit these fish or uh I think they're spawning I mean some of them respond because I can see the beds and some are just kind of hanging out and I think we're hitting it just right where there's literally female bass moving up and males at the same time so a lot of these banks you can go back over and catch several more fish in the same area because they're just they're just kind of coming to the area and they'd like these rocks smallmouth love spawning on dirt and you can look here behind us we've got rocks we've got all the dirt mixed in with it and that's been kind of a the key now let me say this they're all over the lake I'll watch guys or fish and gravel points they're fishing submerged islands they're spawning all over the lake so this isn't the only places responded but they this is what I've been targeting is these rock your shorelines taking a finesse tackle wacky rig drop shot things like that and just pick in these little places apart hopefully by the end of day I'll have 500 big ones I don't care what species they are as long as they wait three pounds and up it's not quite a three pounder boots a good one that helps me by that's a big in so I'm sitting up there I think I see two Victor's female in there there's another why she'd say to 12 to 12 there's number one not bad way to start yes that's a girl I don't know dude it's bigger than anything I thought yesterday I mean I walk that topwater over that rock that 14 to 15 that camera hey 15 not thank you that's 14 right there he's 15 huh he's 15 yeah [Music] yo you probably can't see it no way [Music] [Music] we got try my best to lose that sucker boy Marty I don't have been because the hook is just would have been where he was hooked number one well it took forever [Music] [Music] oh my gosh you see that I was hung on the bottom and I got a pop at all that's the kind of look we need to start having the corn bake it [Music] Corbett yeah Freddie a 2 pounder oh I don't think it's never gonna get 5 thank God there he is he's not gonna help well he might he might but he's too for no no no that's two pounds just two pounds got a pen optics dude on the Panoptix sight fishing I saw that fish and I keep saying move on the Panoptix I kept pitching my drop shot boom I don't think he's gonna help me go he might to to yes yes yes three pounds I think that fish put me in the car I got about 15 now but they might be catching them better out I think 31 pounds and make the cut up I've actually got I bet you got three largemouth in there today [Music] oh my gosh it's really good one he's over 300 thank you straight go straight yep three two well I pretty much stink in the afternoons but I can't complain at all because I think I made the cut I should have made the cut that's all I can ask for fish should get another day fish again is today well we made it in guys a 142 won't play Andrew caught a couple more big ones he needed to take today and use it as a catch me if you can type day I bet they caught him pretty good today got my bag got my hand has heard some good news Anders still leading the tournament what do you have 18 yeah imma get him tomorrow I'll get me my lady I let him take the first two days tomorrow watch out Andrew I'll get you well you know it's typically the weights fall off every time I've ever missed weight to fall about a pound and it looks like it's not gonna fall it all not even wrong Andrew is I think still lead I hope I have six teens I think I'm making a cut no matter what this is good obviously around the same stuff fishing a lot of the same areas there's kind of different rotation but tomorrow's another day I really hope I can make it thanks for hanging out with me so far on this video it feels a lot better than grant trainwreck feels good to be back in the driver seat alright on day one Scott Martin on Costa Florida had 16 pounds eight ounces he's got me five more today they need to wait 12 pounds 12 ounces Scott Martin if you want to go fishing on Saturday well I think they might weigh a little bit more than 12 but you know it's a fantastic fishery haven't you heard everyone say how great this place is just a lot of fish out here it's been a lot of fun so I hope I can't make it tomorrow Andrew and he's bringing with us this week he's catching the mess out of them so maybe he'll give me a tip or two tonight I doubt it but what I will tell you is he's gonna have to watch out for you on Saturday because Scott Martin's got a great bag of fish get him in there right now 15 pounds and 11 ounces Scott you're in 11th place overall sir hey guys that's it for me I had an awesome week never touched the smallmouth you know at the end of the day I got to run into this pond and I was trying to save it for when I made the cut but I you know I had an hour to go knew I wasn't gonna make the cut so I got the running starting the crest liner and I jumped the sandbar got back in this pond pulled my frog out and I must caught 30 back there just never had any big ones had 13 12 or something you know still an awesome week hoping we get a check you know see if maybe Scott or Andrew can pull this thing off alright now just finish weighing 1215 for today that's all I had of course it was I was anticipating tougher day-to-day and it was it was tougher I didn't have anything I was sitting on like six pounds and like 11 o'clock today just kept working my way up working my way up and finally got to 12:15 it's now gonna be enough to get a check I want to get a check man give me a check bill but it was a fun Lake good time Cherokee is awesome make sure you come out here all right when you're marshal almost drives off with your keys that could've been a really bad day but not quite so bad I did catch I didn't figure him out until late I won't have to fish and it's kind of the cursor I caught him well yesterday so I get dialed in I'm throwing that swim bait I'm having fun I like to fish that way and here again 10 12 I don't have them I finally figure out you know Scott Nader or saying Ned Rick Ned reg nibroc you know file I figure it out and I catch them and then I run out of time I can't I jumped off come all that same stuff everything else did I just need more time guys caught 50 and 60 today stupid Tom pay attention to some of the best anglers in the world that are staying with you trying to help you next time think body oh yeah oh yeah we see what place place and Upshaw 36 pounds 4 ounces Scottie Martin 32 3 kick him a button honey but you know what kidding what what place did you get it here humbug Randy what I got a hundred thirty yes and so I was a little ahead of you here a little ahead of ya ok but rebound rebound time this is rebound we made the cut guys Andrews leave he's a win this thing he I just want to come in second okay I do new year duper smart you know you're due for a win I'm due for second okay Beale at 1-1 this year if we can finish out the rest of the year but everybody in the house wins a tournament win this one yeah you can win champagne okay guys
