Please note that this website is currently a work in progress! Lots of interesting data and statistics to come.
People always talk about the quirky car reviews like the Lagonda but these full size flagship luxury sedan vids are underrated imo. So many quirks/features in the back seat
This car is LOOOONG. Parking has gotta be a bitch
I've always found those to be hideous, but they're pretty cool inside! The ceiling especially, very original IMO
This car's proportions are so strange. It looks like someone had a tug-of-war with a Maybach 57.
I wonder if Hoovie will bid on this one. Probably not. Tyler likes his Maybachs like his bread, pre sliced.
These are my favorite types of reviews. Luxury and weird cars, and this combines both. It's clear that Doug had a ton of fun with this one.
Also, I love it when he references his memes. Doug's the type of guy to make "Doug's the type of guy" references when messing with car intercoms.
I must say, don't really care for the outside styling. Inside is gorgeous, but the outside is just meh. I don't really care for the looks of the 2000s Benzes anyway (the 90s [like mine], and the modern Benzes just look better to me), and this one just looks kind of weird. It's a bit warped, the hood looks kind of squashed, and I'm just not a fan.
As for the inside, that sunroof is cool, and if I ever am able to afford an ultra luxury car like that, I'm definitely going to try to get something like that ceiling. Also, the gauges in the back are cool. I think they have them on the new Mercedes-Maybachs (I've definitely seen a video of a Pullman that had them).
Great car, and great video.
Friend's dad had one of these when I was in high school, thanks for the nostalgia trip Doug.
They eventually got rid of it because of the repair costs and how much time it took up. Each of those doors is $62,000 to replace if you break the actuator (which is easy to do, apparently) and are made bespoke in Germany, so it takes upwards of 2 months to replace one.
The sunroof is $100,000 to replace.
And you can only service these at a few specific MB dealers since it's so fucking long and heavy, it doesn't fit on their standard lifts lmao
I feel like with these luxury chauffeur-focused cars, u/Doug-DeMuro should have a portion of the driving segment where he is sitting in the back being driven. Sure you have to sit in the drivers seat to assess βhandlingβ, but thatβs clearly not the purpose of a car like this.
Love the MY BOK plate that one has
