Everybody gangster till Doug starts bouncing
Itβs a nice SUV and all, bouncing feature and price aside. Although I just donβt think this SUV has enough brand cachet to influence Bentley or Rolls Royce buyers.
I understand theyβre going after the people who have chauffeurs, but in the US, how common is that? I know itβs popular in other countries.
This thing looks like an early 2000s Lincoln Navigator thatβs owned by a Mexican family where the dad decided to buy all the replacement chrome components he could find and slap em on everywhere. Especially the grill
Looks like the next episode is Alpine XB7. I wonder what is next ultra luxury SUV review after this and XB7.
Uncontrollable laughter bouncing Doug is the best Doug
Massaging seats, leather pillows, color changing ambient lighting, heated cupholders, a champagne fridge, wireless phone charger, and a tablet to control it all.
This is like The Sharper Image Edition of the GLS.
That bouncing thing looks ridiculous, and Doug's right that no-one would take that thing offroading. Not the biggest SUV fan, but that's a very nice car. Besides the quirky cars, the luxury cars are my favorite of the reviews. I just like seeing all the weird luxury stuff that gets put into these things.
Also, isn't 175k not too bad as far as ultra luxury cars go? It's before options, obviously, but don't the rest of the Maybachs start around 200k, and the first Bentley starts around there as well? Forgive me if I got something wrong, but for a chauffer-driven car that doesn't seem too bad.
This car does have some great ideas. Car Wash Mode sounds nice...I don't take our cars to the scratch-o-matic all that much, but trying to remember to turn off the auto wipers, the parking sensors, etc (and then turn them all back on) is a bit of a pain.
The traffic light cam is pretty smart too. Definitely been in some situations where that would have been useful.
Calling it now, the bouncing Maybach and the Koenigsegg's levitating orb camera are going to be two of the biggest quirks of 2021.
