comfort even in the darkest of times for example in in the Book of Matthew it tells us let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these so my hope is that this knowledge that your children have indeed entered into the the Kingdom of Heaven can be a comfort to those who have have lost a child here on Earth yeah but he didn't know what that felt like excuse me Matthew he never had to bury a child Sam did I did how dare anybody here to tell me how I'm supposed to take comfort in that Thomas the Bible clearly states that children are inherently worthy of entering the Kingdom of Heaven you you don't find any comfort in that no I don't I would trade a million of your feel-good Bible verses every day for the rest of my life if I nothing's cheap nowadays you think I'd build it myself I wouldn't recommend it can't just pull out a shovel and start digging unless you know for sure there's no Plumbing electrical piping or gas lines buried in the yard you'll need to hire someone to analyze the property you'll also need to determine the chances of flooding I could hire you to do that look I'm going to be frank with you you can't do an underground shelter on a budget I mean a 7 by7 only gets you a few hours of oxygen and need 14 gauge steel sheets on the walls if you can't afford it I just recommend you and your family hunker down in the hallway bath with a mattress or too numbers at the top call me if for change your mind thanks what was that all about think about building the storm shelter not for $115,000 you're there's warm humid air that rises but there's also cool air which along with rain or hail Falls these conditions cause the air currents to start spinning inside the cloud now sometimes the spinning currents start out horizontal sometimes they spin vertical but either way they dropped from that cloud got yourself a tornado is there any way to predict when they'll happen not really and we can identify the conditions that are likely to lead to severe weather issue warnings and things like that but predicting when one of those suckers is going to touch down that's just not a reality if you don't mind me asking why the sudden interest no reason curiosity actually my daughter's got a school project so this is me doing research which is curiosity for school project you know what they call tornadoes the hand of God bad one just recently up in Grand that was a bad one you ought to take a trip up that way sometime and see the kind of violence those Twisters are capable of for [Music] tornado that's coming to take our family go on I don't know it's like ever since the funeral he's like a different person oh he used to be so so funny and he was so full of life and now he's just angry all the time and quiet just keeps to himself your family's been through a whole lot right yeah I know and I mean to be honest I don't know how much more I can give up I get it okay and I'm more than happy to talk to him but you need to understand that that grief it it always causes you know strain between couples but the important thing for you to remember is that it's going to pass okay it will pass think of it like a um you break your leg okay you break your leg it doesn't heal properly okay so it hurts it hurts when the weather gets cold so what do you do you learn to walk with a limp yeah yeah I like that learn to walk with the limp thank you you're welcome you must think I sound like a crazy person no I don't I don't think you're a crazy person listen in the Bible God uses Visions all the time to get people's attention but what we have to remember is the Bible's finished everything we already need to know is already in it so you think he's making it up no no I I don't think he's making it up but what I think is that God would never give someone a vision and not tell them what it actually means yeah but I mean tornadoes what does that mean think about um weather they're kind of like our emotions the emotions of the Soul so uh rain is tears and sorrow Thunder is uh fear tornadoes their grief their anxiety all spinning out of control get it it's interesting I mean I can see that with him good think about it that way it's not all that scary right God doesn't want you to be scared God wants you to be comforted get some coffee you want some coffee sure of the last F5 tornado that came through here a few years back look at the size of that thing a it's a baby compared to what we saw in Joplin I saw two super cells Collide over Kansas one time it's the only thing that saved the state from becoming a hole in the middle of the country the two deadliest tornadoes of the century the Great nachez tornado of 1840 and the St Louis tornado of 1896 200 mph winds the aftermath it led Americans to rely on theological reflection and soul searching last time I came by you told me it was impossible to predict when these things would happen that's right what about this group in Sweden they invented that laser beam I don't follow there's a group of scientists in Sweden that have developed this kind of laser beam that sits on top of a satellite and it can heat or cool the Earth's surface from up above the atmosphere so if they can manipulate the temperature of the Earth's surface and they can stop these things from ever developing right that's a long shot to stop a tornado from developing all you have to do is heat the downdraft how I mean we're not talking about just nuking last night's leftovers in the microwave the satellites will convert solar energy into microwaves and they shoot it back to Earth in a beam I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here you want to try to stop a tornado from forming yeah you know I also read that you can spread a thin layer of oil over the ocean you know if you heat or cool the ground in front of a storm you can actually divert its path okay okay and how do we do that again from the satellites your son you're never going to see him again unless this storm takes you there is that what you're saying sure feels like it well then how come God doesn't just come right in and blow your house down to be with Junior and when that storm comes that is what we be look I'm from the Midwest okay and my mind my sleeping mind would conjure up dreams of tornadoes and things to get my attention and to scare me all the time now I understand that it's also a natural phenomenon in other parts of the world for these things to happen it's not that unusual even in places where people don't live in fear of cyclone season m inner turbulence yes you think I'm bracing for impact for something that's probably never going to affect me I think it's a distinct possibility see the problem is though with tornadoes you never know when they're coming you never know where they'll hit you know you can't stop them you can't beg them to change their mind they just come and they take whatever they want like night are you having bad dreams sometimes you still going to group he goes a couple times a month does it help not really the reason I ask is you might be showing some signs of post-traumatic stress disorder you've heard of it that's what soldiers get well no it's actually more common than that it's not fun stuff but you are showing some signs of it for now until I can run some more tests I can certainly start you on a pretty mild stive it's nonh habit forming you just take one an hour before bed and see if it helps I'll get you a script how's Lee oh she's doing great yeah that new diet you therapists I can give you a referral okay yeah but yeah I'll give you this reference and and hopefully if he talks to someone professional in that regard they will be able to help him out all right go to group at your local church is that right so no offense but if that would be working it would be working the act of Shining Light on someone's fears is often Curative of them for anyone who has trouble sleeping have terrible dreams is often helps to write them down in a journal or you can try and interpret them to make better sense you can try and communicate these ideas with your friends and loved ones you know understanding is often times is most of the Cure but it all takes time and treatment nobody reads anymore guess that's what they call a lost art what happened to your face
