Teshuvah and God's Heavenly Decisions | Episode 830

blessed and encouraged and now here is your host and teacher Perry stone today I'll manifest I've interrupted our normal programming in the normal schedule of take taping to bring to you what I believe to be is a very important right now message as many of you know that keep up with the Hebraic teaching that we do and others do we're getting ready to enter into the months of September and October which are the seasons of the three fall festivals of Israel for many years I have taught different aspects of those fall festivals their literal fulfillment their practical fulfillment and even their prophetic fulfillment in the future today I'm going to be sharing with you a message that I want you to pay careful attention to know this is not a repeat message this is brand-new but yet the content is some content that I've shared with people over the years and I wanted to combine it together and talk about the seasons that we are now in when you begin to look at Israel's a calendar we're going to talk about that we're going to talk about the calendar months and we're going to talk about the festivals very briefly but we're going to keep up on the seasons that were in before we get to Rosh Hashanah which is going to happen in the month of October or what's called the Feast of Trumpets now let me begin by saying this Esther chapter 9 verse 22 in the book of Esther as the days were in the Jews rested from their enemies and the month which was turned unto them from sorrow to joy and for mourning into a good day that they should make them days of feasting and joy and of sending portions to one another and gifts to the poor now this Esther chapter 9 verse 22 is the celebration of Purim Purim is what's called a non Torah celebration in fact there are two non Torah celebrations what do I mean by that the Torah is the five books of Moses that are in our Old Testament Genesis Exodus Leviticus numbers and Deuteronomy now in the Torah our seven festivals and they are there in this order on the very first month on the a religious calendar you have Passover followed then by unleavened bread followed the next day by the beginning of firstfruits and then you count a set number of weeks seven times seven weeks forty-nine days and you come from the Sabbath after Passover forty-nine days you'll come to what's called Pentecost now Pentecost is not the old testament name it's called the feast of weeks in the Old Testament it's called Pentecost in acts two one through four and Pentecost comes from out of a Greek word that means 50 or fiftieth and so it indicates the timing of the counting that that actually comes to that festival now you skip from Pentecost to the follow months and you come about four months later into the month of Tishrei and there are three festivals that occur in the month of Tishrei on the first day of the month it's called Rosh Hashanah which today is the Jewish New Year but it's also known as the memorial of blowing of trumpets or the festival of trumpets you go ten days later and you will come to what's called the Day of Atonement Yom Kippur of the Day of Atonement then you go five days from the Day of Atonement you'll come to the festival of Tabernacles so probably a lot of what I've shared with you is information that a lot of you already have what a lot of people may not realize is this why is it for example that on the calendar that consistently the timeframes change every year for example Passover may be in March one year and then the next year will come in April and the next year will go back to March and the answer is the calendar now the Gentiles are on what's called a solar calendar 365.25 days making a year the Jewish people are on what's called a solar lunar calendar and so their calendar is based on the monthly cycles of the Moon which total about 354 to 305 days making a year now it doesn't take a genius to figure out that if you have a year that's 355 days for example versus 365 you're ten days short every year so eventually what happens is your festivals that should be in the spring would end up being in the summer and your fall ones would be in the winter and with though the calendar all so what the Jews did is they have 12 actual months I'll show you a list of these months I'm not going to read them all but it stars it starts with the month of to vet and then Shevat Aadhaar the first you see I divert the second there in the Sun they otter serve on that moon I've a little I said I wasn't gonna read them that is Shrek has fine and kislev now these are the months on the Jewish calendar but there's only 12 months in a year however there is a thirteenth month added every four years called Eid are the second and when I died of the second is added the reason they do it is to keep the festivals in line so sometimes you'll see a festival happen in the spring in any of March next year it's April next year it's back to March and also the fall festivals will jump from the month of September to October and back and forth and that's the reason why because the calendar now very quickly I want to deal with three months I want to deal with the month of of and the month of Elul and the month of Tishrei the month of of on the Jewish calendar usually happens in July or August the month of Elul is usually August or September and the month of Tishri is usually September or October now I want to show you and for the person doing the notes it says in 2014 that's an old enough this should say in 2016 I want to correct that in 2016 the month of I've will begin on August the 4th then the month of Elul will begin on September the second then the month of Tishrei where the festivals begin the three fall festivals begin will actually be according to where we're at will it'll be and again it's going to be different in the West and Israel because Israel 7 hours ahead but it'll begin on Sunday October the 2nd now the reason I'm sharing that with you is most people who have heard any teaching on the Jewish festivals understand that when you come into the fall festivals of Rosh Hashanah or the Feast of Trumpets that that's the first festival ten days later is the Day of Atonement five days later Tabernacles and or the feast of booths that lasts for seven days and that's the conclusion of the festivals until you come back into the spring now the festivals were actually centered around two things harvest time and rain season early rain and latter rain and of course you have the barley harvest at Passover and unleavened bread and first fruits to Pentecost and you have the grain of the fruit harvest of the seven different fruits of Israel that usually is a celebration around the fall months and especially climaxes at the time of the festival Tabernacles now a lot of people over the years have asked me peri where are we prophetically as it relates to these particular festivals so I want to tell you that we are between Pentecost and trumpets in other words Pentecost is the church age it's what's called the dispensation of the grace of God by the Apostle Paul we're living in the time of the church age but however when the church age in church age ends which will conclude at the rapture of the church then we change we change timeframes we change ages or we change the dispensation and we go into the tribulation which then goes into eventually at the end of the tribulation of the millennial reign of Christ so the three fall festivals deal with the rapture the tribulation and the kingdom which is coming to the earth where Christ is going to rule and reign for a thousand years but we are somehow right now caught between Pentecost which is the church age and the rapture of the church is there any significance to that timeframe the answer is yes and let me explain okay the month of of on the Jewish calendar is a very negative month for most of the Jews because on the ninth of off the Babylonians and the Romans both destroyed Jerusalem and destroyed the temple so when you get to the ninth evolved it's a day of fasting it's a day of mourning for Jerusalem's past in the past history of where the enemies conquered them but then when you come to the month of Elul now once again the month of Elul begin Friday September the 2nd and this is important you hear this you come to the month of your little and you've got 29 days where they blow a shofar and they read from the Psalms now this is the time known as the forty days of tests shove off when you come to e lool the first and let me give you the date again it will be Friday September the 2nd then you come to the month of Tishrei which will happen October the 2nd then you go from trumpets to Atonement that's 10 days that's a total of 40 days these 40 days are called the 40 days of tests you've on now someone says what does the word test you of I mean good question teshuvah if you if you if you hear teshuva you hear the word shew of in it and that is a Hebrew word that means to turn it's like the word for repent or to turn so repenting is not just saying I'm sorry repenting is to turn we would say to turn and go back and begin to follow God and turn away from your wickedness so teshuva is the seasons of repentance now in on the Jewish time frame they will begin on the 1st of ulugh and they will go all the way to the 1st of Tishrei where the trumpets are sounded and the jewish new year begins now where did all this teaching come from here's where it came from Moses went up into the mountain for 40 days to receive the commandments of God when he came off the mountain Israel was worshiping the idol he broke the commandments he went back up on the mountain another 40 days an incredible story and during the second forty days God said I'm going to destroy him he said no please don't do it so god repented or turned his idea of thinking and did not destroy Israel because of Moses intercession the second 40 days are believed to have happened the second 40 days the beginning of Elul Ahlul the first and ended on the Day of Atonement so the 40 days that Moses is on the mountain is indicated by Ahlul the first all the way to Tishrei the tenth meaning the first day of Elul all the way to the day of atonement or the time of the day of atonement so this teaching began to emerge among the Jewish people in fact somewhere here if I can find it I have a I have a quote from the encyclopedia Judaica which I have those encyclopedias and here's what it says that teshuvah connects the forty days with Moses staying on Mount Sinai 40 days Exodus 34 28 which was calculated to have commenced on the first of the little and on the tenth of Tishrei which is the day of atonement so here's the point God turned his wrath away from Israel because of Moses intercession during the second forty days that he was on the mountain so this is known as teshuvah so here's what the the devout Jewish people do everybody doesn't do this but devout Jewish people do this beginning the first of Elul the shofar is sounded and they begin to reflect and they begin to search their hearts they begin to see if there's anyone during the past year maybe they offended that they didn't make it right with them they begin to realize if there's a deed idea that was not right not only do I repent to God but I have to repent to that person now remember this we always talk about everybody needs to repent and ask God to forgive them but Jesus even said that if you've offended your brother let me just let me read it to you if you for if you forgive men their trespasses your heavenly Father also forgive you but if you forgive not men their trespasses neither will your heavenly Father forgive you of your trespasses so there has to be a season of reflection and forgiveness you've got to be willing to forgive people who voted against you who maybe have done you wrong and trust me the past couple months I've had some wonderful opportunities to put into practice Matthew's Gospel of releasing people that I felt were mistreating me or saying things that were not right or doing things that were not right and using my name in a in a wrong manner and so so I had to pray and say God I want to release this so here's my point and I want you listen to it very carefully there's a teaching to always intrigued me about teshuvah and that is that from the time of at issue the first issue the tenth which is the festival of trumpets to the Day of Atonement is a total of ten days and it was believed and it's believed today by devout Jews that those ten days it's when the door of heaven is open or the window of heaven is open and that is where God begins to make decisions for the following year now estranges the sounds I want to say something that in the story of King Nebuchadnezzar when you read about that story in the Bible you'll discover that the king was warned that he if he didn't humble himself he was going to suffer and twelve months later exactly according to the Book of Daniel King Nebuchadnezzar had a complete and total emotional breakdown and lived seven years like a wild man out in the woods and after seven years his mind restoratory was restored to him so what happened was it was believed that God was making a decision kind of in line with these festivals and saying you have 12 months I'm gonna I'm gonna make a judgment on the next 12 months now I don't know that I would carry it this far I'm just sharing with you what some of the devout rabbis and Jewish people believed and that is that during the month of teshuvah during trumpets all the way to atonement decisions will be made for the following year in other words healing healing decisions can be made family decisions can be made the the blessing that comes to you can be made the prosperity that comes to you to be made the financial breakthroughs you receive but it will be contingent upon three things number one is repenting to God making sure your hearts right with God number two is making it right with others in other words if you've had a naught if you've been carrying something this is the season to reflect so that a good decision will be made on your behalf remember Jesus said if you don't forgive you can't be forgiven Jesus also said if I'm leaving a gift at the altar and a half of all against my brother leave the gift because the gift can't be blessed as as there is something in your heart and I think this is the reason why a lot of Christians that I've met over the years they tithe and they give but they never get their quote/unquote financial breakthrough and here comes some new convert that's just been saved you love Jesus who's just loving forgiving everybody and they start getting all these breakthroughs that people who have said in church most of their life haven't really gotten can't figure out why the key is unforgiveness and holding something in your heart now the reason I'm sharing this with you is because I believe Malachi 3:10 talks about opening up the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing Jesus and John 1:51 said you're gonna see the heavens open and angels ascending and descending on the Son of Man revelation 4 and 1 the Bible says that John said I saw a door in heaven open revelation 19:11 John said I saw heaven open and we know according to Malachi when people tithe and give the God can open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing now in the literal sense of that verse God was speaking about pouring out rain on Israel to where their crops would prosper and their vines would cross prosper and their grapes would prosper and they would have this tremendous harvest but metaphorically speaking the rain represents the blessing of God and the outpouring of the Spirit metaphorically speaking a feature of I should say grapes represent the joy of the Lord and olives represent the anointing of the holy spirit so it is the will of God to give you the anointing to give you the joy to give you the peace so here's what we do most people who know our ministry knows something and I want to say this is just inserting this right here real quick that we do not for example ask for money for manifest you see us we just we simply offer an offer that's it we do not take up a special we do have people that give it Passover Tabernacles and Pentecost because they want to honor the festivals but we don't do that normally except one time of year one time of year I introduced the teaching of teshuvah and I tell people what I want you to do is reflect on where your heart is I want you in this season of 40 days of teshuvah to turn your heart totally to God I want you to forgive people that you've had to oughta get sometimes they will even write letters to people and ask them to forgive them and they will sign that letter may your name be inscribed in the book of life and I want you also to remember that this season because it involves harvest time is also a season of giving and this is the only time of the year we ask everybody who watches manifest to give a one-time offering for the entire year to set the blessing for the coming year in your life and the blessing of this ministry for the next coming year and so this is why we want to do the test of our teaching to help you to understand what it means to be forgiving what it means to release and how the blessing of God is guaranteed in a person's life who is willing to let things go willing to forgive people but they have autogas and believe it or not willing to even pray for your enemies can you believe Jesus said to pray for your enemies and one of the things is this it's not up to you or I to judge someone and to ask God to send a judgment on them it is up to God to judge a person of their condition whether or not they're right and I am no man's judge I hear preachers and it really bothers me they they judge that preachers preaching and they they say that was an enemy of the Cross and this one is not of God and that's not of God and it really bothers me based on what I read in the New Testament because jesus said if they're not working against me they're working for me and Jesus even looked at his own disciples and said you don't even know what manner of spirit you're up and there are people that say the Spirit of God is speaking to them but you can tell by their tone and you can tell by the emotion of what they're saying and you can tell by the alignment of God's Word they're doing it out of their own spirit they're doing what the Bible warns against in the Old Testament of a person speaking out of their own spirit and not speaking as as the Holy Spirit would because the Holy Spirit is not going to counter his word he's not going to have you angry toward a preacher because you don't like that man what he's preaching and you call him all kinds of names on your TV or radio program that is absolutely not of God that is demonic that is evil that is wicked and yet people want to justify because they want to build themselves up in their own eyes now I don't know why I'm saying all that but I want you to understand this is a very serious with God walking in unforgiveness and bitterness and strife and contention and being a divider among the Brethren is very serious in fact we talk about you know though the people that do have abortion people shedding innocent blood and the same verse in Proverbs that says that says he hates those who caused a vision among the Brethren 7 sins in the book of Proverbs and one of those is those who caused the vision God hates them so just just take that and one little preacher said hang that on you here for a while now I want to get back to the point of why this is important for you you in my life there has been several times when I came to test you vow that I realized I had to write letters to people I had to ask people to forgive me I had to tell people I was holding stuff against him and I didn't want to hold it anymore and I released that person and every time that I ever did this we received following this event and people didn't know I did I didn't do it publicly I didn't make a big scene I wrote letters but when I wrote the letter and released it I got a release out of my spirit and I had a freedom coming to my spirit that I did not have before and every time and this is the part that's amazing every time we would receive a major financial blessing for the ministry that totally was unexpected totally completely unexpected and several times the blessings even came to our own life personally in some situations that my wife and I needed God to move so we are in right now we're coming into I should say the month of Elul the month of Tishrei and this is the forty days of tests Shiva again it begins only a little the first it ends on the day of atonement and so you know you can look this all the counters up on this and see what I'm saying is true and so I'm asking God's people again to do three things number one have you had strife in your church if you had strife in your home have you gone through a horrible divorce do you feel like your kids are in rebellion and they're not paying attention to you and yet you've become hateful you've become bitter you become a rumor monger maybe you become a busybody stop it right now and let me tell you what to do humble yourself before God and repent before God this is the seasons of repentance it's the seasons of turning when we do this the Bible says that you know it talks about that when we repent times of refreshing will come from the presence of God and if we want revival and we want God's blessing to come to our land we're going to hafta ladies and gentlemen learn how to turn our heart back to God how bad do you want God's blessing how bad do you want God's favor how bad do you desire to see God answer your prayer well unforgiveness and bitterness will hinder you so in this season when Moses goes on the mountain instead of saying yeah God killed Israel I don't like them either they're a pain he says no if you kill them you kill me and God says you know what I'll raise up a nation to you Moses - no you won't because I won't be here because you can take me out - Moses was under stress but he was willing to pray to God to forgive Israel to watch Israel covenant be fulfilled and today you have the nation of Israel because of that intercession on test you about so here's what I want you to do I want you to begin to seek God on your own in private and say God is there anything in my life that should not be there take it out of me and forgive me God now you should be praying that consistently you don't pray that once a year but I mean these seasons are for the time to introspect look inside of you and reflect that's why God has seasons like this we stop we say okay how am i doing spiritually and based on the not our calendar of January 1st but on the Jewish calendar the new year is about to begin so I want God's favor on this next couple 12 months and the window will be open repent turn to him write letters to people you've offended get them on the phone and say you know what I'm getting this under the blood of Christ I want to release and forgive and then one of the things that my wife and I do every test you of our season is we give our best offerings to the work of God and to the kingdom of God during this season for God's blessing to be upon our life and for God to say you know what we want to bless that stone family for the next 12 months on this calendar and so this is you know I'm only giving you a little bit of this teaching it's much more detailed much more complex but I'm trying to keep it simple so that people can understand it so in this test you of our season do what is right release people and expect God to give you a good decision for the next year now I'm going to come back and share something with you in just a moment that I want you to hear will agree with me when there is such injustice and such corruption in high places you know it reminds me of what Paul talked about in Ephesians chapter 6 and verse 12 and he starts talking about the principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places in the heavenly places and we're being impacted by that it is so sad when common people who work jobs and common people who make errors or mistakes and sometimes legitimate sometimes on purpose but yet they're they're judged and they're tried and they're taken to court they're sentenced and some people in the federal levels are tried for treason and yet we see so many things happening that make no sense whatsoever it's not what you know in America now but it's who you know that can get you off of the things that you have done and I think people deserve this and they see this and I think that the only thing that can save the country is not one particular person or a lot of people coming up into one area like DC folks the only thing that can save America is the church and the preaching of the gospel now it was Charles Finney who made the statement that when things get corrupt in a nation it's the church's fault and the pulpits fault men have quit preaching the Word of God with authority and power we have basically have churches that are nothing more than adult nurseries who are designing programs just to keep proof of Christians happy in supporting the congregation I think it's time for God to raise up young people revivalist voices that carry an anointing to break the yoke we have a yoke around our neck of tyranny a yoke around our neck of abominations and we have to break it by the preaching of the word of God and by the anointing of the Holy Spirit one of the things the Lord has dealt with me about is to go to areas where people are hungry to go to areas where they're looking and they're searching let me just talk about West Virginia that's my home state where I was born I was born up here in the area of Elkins but in West Virginia because of the of what's happened to the coal industry there's a lot of poverty there's spirit of hopelessness there's entire towns where the entire downtown area is sitting empty buildings are empty young people on drugs I'm telling you it's it's that way in parts of Kentucky parts of Pennsylvania parts of Ohio and I'm not going to blame it on political things but a lot of it is regulations and things that were passed in high places but the real thing that we have to have is revival the hope has to return to the Appalachian area and so God's put this on my heart and I want you to pray for me for the rule revival and the rule awakening to happen all throughout the United States not just in the mountains on the east but in the Midwest and the west
