Super Mario Odyssey Finale - End Of A Long, Strange Trip

hello and welcome back to Super Mario Odyssey last time we finished up the Dark Side of the Moon we got a whole lot of paintings taken care of and we even got the last moon in the Mushroom Kingdom so now I was trying to pick out a different outfit when I noticed something on the bottom right there where the outfit is there's a little star meaning that I've got all the actual outfits but in the top right it's showing that I don't have all the hats um which is interesting I'm not really sure why that is I'm I thought I had everything so I don't know if maybe there's like another another hat somewhere that I missed but I sure would like to find it for now I'm gonna put on the painter outfit I just like it I I don't think I've really worn it yet I think I wore it at the beginning of uh one of the episodes but I didn't really wear it like through the episode so we're going to be painter Mario for a while and even the paint outfit is subject to change I don't know we're gonna see what's going on here in the darker side of the moon you know it's it's funny when you do something without meaning to or without realizing it see when I started this episode today I had no idea that it was going to be the finale of Super Mario Odyssey so I I started another episode I I ended off this episode thinking I was done with it and I started a new one only to go to the dark side of the king darker side of the moon and realize there's only one Moon there so I guess that explains why the shops let you buy 10 moons at a time uh so you might notice that there's a lot of moons there on the side we have uh 877 moons I believe in The Odyssey I don't know if there's any other way to check but yeah uh I can't I can't see I can't see the balloon I can't prove to you that there's 877 moons in there dang it hold on I'm gonna get up there I'm gonna make sure I did this right there we go yeah look at that 877 moons which means I need 122 which is currently how many I have right now in I was gonna say my inventory but right there on the left it's 122 moons and we're gonna put them all into the Odyssey we're gonna have 999 moons and we're gonna go to the darker side of the moon and we're gonna actually 100 finish this game fill in the Moon Juice now that's a lot of moons look at him go God dang all right come on there we go 999 baby we've collected let's see 999 power moons wow that's amazing oh and that reminds me there's a surprise waiting for you let's head to Peach's castle the beach is Castle no I need to go to the dark side of the moon man what all right hold on let's go to the Mushroom Kingdom first I did whoa okay y'all see that the the Hat on the castle by the way I put on Mario's classic outfit I figured if we're gonna finish this game we're gonna we're gonna end where we started man I know it's not super glamorous maybe even to some people a little anticlimactic but no I like classic Mario man he looks good why is there a Big Top Hat on top of Peach's castle man okay I guess that explains what this pole was here for yeah there we go what is this huh [Music] beautiful that's what we got was a fireworks show I guess that's nice I shouldn't complain all right the darker side of the moon awesome hi everybody yeah look at all of my friends even Dory is here I don't I don't know why there's water on the moon but that's okay oh man I guess we're getting up to that big tower hi Pauline go Mario jump man you've got it I guess we got to be the Frog again [Music] oh boy zero grab man great we're off to a good start nice what is this holy crap oh man hey we're heavy again awesome all right let's um what the heck oh boy man is this just another uh challenge for us I didn't mean to take a hit there either that kind of sucks but that's okay we'll deal with it uh do I even need to to kill that guy is that necessary oh maybe not okay well come on oh boy okay I think I get what's going on here just go down here we'll jump across man is this gonna be another one of those insanely hard challenges probably shouldn't be surprised though I shouldn't be surprised at all actually all right [Music] there we go that's so bad uh that's a little sucky oh my gosh here we go here we go awesome this sucks what you could just let me have the victory game okay how am I supposed to do this all right there we go oh that wasn't so bad look at me look at me learning here at the very end of the game really really hone in my skills man really bringing it all together here at the end uh all right we got this we've got this man um okay I no messed that up all right good deal try again it's okay just a bit more of a difficult challenge than I was anticipating today okay all right what's what's the perfect time to jump here probably oh boy I don't know yeah right there awesome there we go let's go oh boy all right okay all right now this is this is totally fine we're just using all the skills that we learned that brought us to this point okay that's okay dang it come on come on this isn't so high this this is this is way easier than the last thing that we just did okay all right okay I thought I fell but that's all right we're good everything's good oh boy all right ow ah shoot come on oh let me guess there's no other hearts are there one of those things where okay that's fine okay this is pretty fun I like this so far [Music] okay neat Oh I ah of course there's a heart up there too well oh okay good yeah I'm not gonna worry about that right now um hello Sphinx uh I'll just what's up buddy greetings traveler into your hat as well can you answer my riddle what is the only Kingdom that I the Great Sphinx have not visited that's a good question uh I think the Mushroom Kingdom dear ye Giver of correct answers take this with you love it thanks buddy Yoshi come on you're you're still coming with me I'm not leaving you behind all right that uh what's up with all the twisters I don't like it I don't like it at all right um hello all right Yoshi unfortunately I gotta leave you behind man I'm so sorry uh okay that's uncool man are you serious [Music] oh God man okay God all right let's do this again let's make the jumps as they come available foreign God dang it what the heck am I supposed to do no ah okay all right come on we can do this no okay uh all right okay good okay we made it all right awesome that oh geez all right well let's keep going oh boy [Applause] all right avoid these guys I like it it's not so bad so far not so bad at all I really wish they would just like give me a checkpoint that would that would actually be my favorite thing right about now but they won't so that's okay and do I have to fight Bowser too foreign oh my God all right what no it's it's ah it said the flick the Pro Controller to go farther I must have done it wrong oh God all right man maybe this whole episode will be the uh the finale I I was not expecting any of this dude that sucks now that I now that I know what's happening I can uh I could try harder I just I I I'm gonna be honest I wasn't really expecting this I kind of thought it was just gonna be like hey you did it congratulations you're so cool I should have known better oh God okay totally fine totally fine because I didn't grab this heart down here so I can use it to make myself feel better come on buddy we got things to do I want to do this relatively quickly but I can't rush I can't rush at all also this one you kind of have to you kind of have to take it slow you don't really have a choice with all these all these big things rolling around being terrible awesome God are you serious what no that is awful great now I got one hit awesome so I'm gonna have to do the rest of this uh really really well there we go learning I'm learning I walked right into them dang it alright no messing around come on let's do this it's the finale we gotta we gotta finish strong we gotta do this right we gotta make it to the end I mean I was gonna say without getting hit but I don't know if I have that in me I got lucky that I did it at all in the brutal fight but I should have known that like here at the end Mario games love to do that don't they like they give you that real hard challenge there at the end it's just their thing it's what they love to do which is fine it's just I never really make it this far into Mario games so I just wasn't ready for this I always think that Mario games are supposed to be like real easy joyous romps and then I forget that Nintendo just loves to throw these hey here's some super hard levels do it but I suppose at this point you should be good enough at the game to make it through without too many problems you know what I mean like this isn't impossible it's just hard how terrible would that be if I just gave up right now you know like nah can't be bothered we there's there's 999 moons in the Odyssey that's good enough right I'm not gonna do that it just how messed up would that be at least I know I can learn from my mistakes this one isn't the hard one either the hard one is the where uh I have to like all the platforms popping out of the wall I know there's currently platforms popping out of the wall right now but I mean the other one the one where I have to give up Cappy that one sucks I don't like this part at all I don't care much for it there we go I'm gonna take a damage God dang it was exactly what I didn't want to happen all right that's fine we have ways to heal ourselves God dang it why did I do that no ah God the fact that there are no checkpoints is what really sucks about this man I'm not gonna lie I'm all caught off guard too because I wasn't really expecting any of this I also wasn't expecting the again I wasn't expecting to be recording the finale today I thought there were going to be a lot more moons here on the Dark Side of the Moon because I just didn't know any better so uh wasn't ready for it shoot I'm gonna be honest even if I was I still don't know if I would be doing this very well and I think my biggest problem about this is because there's no checkpoints I'm gonna have to be redoing these parts over and over again because I'm gonna keep messing up and that's gonna suck because it's gonna make me get impatient and that's where all of my mistakes come from you know I get impatient I'm like okay I gotta do this fast this is going well so far I know I can at least get through the beginning part without taking a hit that's nice all right so this part with the fuzzies I don't know oh boy all right hold on hold on hold on let's let's map this out real quick let's let's make like an actual strategic plan here okay all right let's see there's a there's a there's a perfect time to do this right like dang it that wasn't it awesome awesome awesome okay here I know okay so there's a heart up there I hope that the Sphinx will let me answer another question to get more uh to get more what do you call it another one of the the big I don't know what you call them king hearts they have a crown the thing that gives me double life if I could get another one of those I would feel pretty great about myself oh man you don't even have to answer a question you could just get it this part sucks I don't like this part with the the the blocks and and the movements and the the lack of Cappy this part sucks it's not fun and I don't enjoy it ah see what I mean that sucks all right the one's gonna pop up over here yeah right there and then I think some more gonna pop up right here perfect all right and then I can't remember where from here but awesome okay all right sweet got it and this part's not super hard the the part with gliding just gotta avoid whatever these guys are called all right at least and music's really nice very nice and soothing oh okay that was on the edge I didn't like that that sucked okay what the heck all right all right there we go awesome it sucked that it took a damage for that but whatever we made it why does it have to be like this why God ah jeez dude all right that's okay oh God every every time I think the the awfulness is done it just gets amped up even more ah God no holy geez dude no God in heaven please this is so chaotic why ah oh my God and there's no there's no checkpoint either God they could at least put a checkpoint there man what I have to go through all of this again ah figured out the secret to that man just use gliding to make it the whole way man that's what I'm talking about alright cool here this place I've thought about it and I think what the best thing I could do for myself is to maybe not hit that to maybe just to maybe just avoid these guys and kill them with with Cappy oh man although I'll tell you what that doesn't feel super great either okay all right so if I just no dang it oh jeez dude it's so chaotic ah no oh please oh God man left me with just one heart ah all right awesome I love this ah man this is the worst okay what's the right way to do this when's the right time to let go I actually don't know dang it oh God I absolutely hate that there's no checkpoints man that sucks so bad figuring some things out okay this is a good idea and until it's not you guys just stay away from me just stay away and everything will be good this part's gonna be hard because there's gonna be two of them two rows of these whatever these guys are called man ow I ran right into him but you know what I don't care that's fine that sucks that sucks but I'll just I'll just focus on the Rings that's okay all right cool well you know what we're still doing a lot better oh God [Music] this part sucks and I hate that I don't get more than one chance to like try it huh [Music] God even with checkpoints it would still suck dude but I'm I have to do it all in like one go man it's like the perfect run ah jeez okay I'm getting to the point now where I'm like losing focus I'm not like paying attention to what I'm doing but I need to focus because this is it's just it's it's an endurance run of skill you know what I mean like it's it's throwing all these challenges at you and it's not giving you a moment to rest you know what I mean like you have to do it all one after the other again even if I had the checkpoints that I so desperately want I'd still be messing up and I'd still be getting like frustrated but because I have to do it all in like one perfect run it's I it's it's just it's messing with my brain man it's making me freak out like it's it's cool that they they put this kind of challenge in there for like the best Mario players but dude if if you've made it into the finale that means you've probably watched me play the rest of this game and you know I am no Mario like Pro by any stretch of the imagination I am like a casual Mario player I am trying my best though I promise you that I I'm trying as hard as I possibly can to do this the double health will make me feel real good about it I I swear dude I hate especially the the The Swinging like you gotta use the bird I don't like that I don't like that at all because it's it's just if you mess up you're dead like you only get one shot and I'm not good enough at this game to just it I can't do I can't do like a hardcore mode run of Mario man I'm just not I don't have that kind of skill all right everything is good everything is totally good like it's better to just avoid them than to throw Cappy and accidentally hit whatever the this ring of death is called okay that was kind of close but awesome all right it you know what and it doesn't even matter that I made it with full health because if you if you mess up on this then you're just you're just dead okay I don't like that we're gonna we're gonna redo this all right that was a pretty good pretty good I think all right okay all right I'm gonna take a break for right now jeez man I'll I'll pick this up later all right we're gonna try this again and everything's gonna work out great for us assuming assuming that I can just put it all together you know what I mean I could really really make it happen the challenges by themselves aren't so bad but having to having to do it all in one go I'm sure I've said this already but like just getting it all done perfectly man it's it's a lot especially with no checkpoints really gotta bring your A game to this which uh you know final challenge makes sense I get it you know bring it all together oh man it's just a little rough because it is it is so so long to get through this so when you mess up and you have to start it all over oh man it just takes 10 minutes out of your day and I only got so much time here in this life see the good thing though is I'm learning so I'm getting through the beginning part like pretty quickly pretty well I like that yeah see we got this we've got this we're learning how to do this more quickly yeah perfect all right let's go up here leave him behind ah wait for the water oh okay oh sweet made it without taking a damage I like that I like that a lot all right come on Yoshi we got things to do buddy all right can we make it without getting hit I think so how about this ah oh that was close I didn't like that but perfect I like when we can succeed by just not doing anything oh man all right this part super simple super easy just follow the growing Green Path and then once we make it to the Sphinx things will be even better because we get the double health so that's really nice all right this part should be okay because I I you know I know what I'm doing mostly mostly let's go over here Yoshi you hang out I don't want you to see the chaos that's about to ensue all right here this part will pop out okay just as soon as you see them start to wiggle make your jump hop up perfect no God dang it that's okay that's all right one hit not a big deal I just want to have like at least a couple for the the part with the colorful guys God no oh ah I'm starting to choke okay all right this is fine this is fine you're next and then up to the left all right and then eventually yeah right here perfect awesome all right took a hit no big deal what took two hits still no big deal as long as I have several hits to make it through the the part with the colorful guys and the lasers and the moving platform that's the one that gets me I mean the one that really gets me is with with the bird and the the the making it up the wooden boards or whatever that one sucks I I can't seem to get that one but once I do oh I'll have this game's number all right come on glider we can do this we can do this come on you can do it buddy I believe in you God dang it that's fine I still have three hits okay that's that's totally fine as long as I can make it through this part without taking more than two damage so all I gotta do is just not activate this thing so let's just jump that's fine we'll just hit these guys that say okay I'd say okay we'll just okay all right okay oh boy oh boy okay this is good this is going this is going mildly well I'm not getting hit but I there's you know there's a lot of them huh okay all right this is good this is good this is all going great kind of a cheat move but I'll allow it ah that sucked but whatever all right just take your time here it's not a race there's no time limit okay got it got it all right are they gonna be shooting any did it oh I'm so happy right now this trip really was amazing thank you Mario it's been an honor walking a mile on your head oh my gosh I better not miss this that sure would be the worst we did it has been a blast it's been nostalgic enjoyable frustrating it's been the whole range of emotions and I'm so glad that you watched it with me so man I I don't even know what to say I'm just I'm super pumped I'm super excited that we did it and I you know what having this music in the background makes me feel so much better about it oh my goodness thank you so much for watching I really hope that you enjoyed this series and we get to look forward to the next series of which I still haven't made a plan of what I want to do but hey we'll figure it out right for now let's just enjoy the celebration you and I we got a thousand moons we waited on a crazy worldwide journey and we made it in the end 100 dude you know what we need to put the last of these moons into the Odyssey whoa I missed it's hard to tell when you're invisible the last of the Moon Juice what the odyssey's turned gold [Laughter] ah a new portrait of Bowser appeared in the wedding hall a new portrait of Bowser appeared in the wedding hall you know I might have celebrated a bit too early we gotta see what this portrait is right one last trip what do you think that's gotta be this one right what a super scary painting I guess it's a harder version of the Bowser fight huh I'm guessing we just gotta uh fight him again but maybe it's gonna be a little bit harder which you know I don't like but hey here we are let's let's try it out yeah I want my happily ever after I think I I feel like I earned it man all right foreign oh boy oh here we go here we go come on there we go oh I didn't know he was gonna do it twice okay well I deserve that that is okay come on throw your spike the ball at me that's fine I got you Bowser I've done this fight enough times to know what your plan is here we go come on jump all was going to be the finale but here it is here's the actual finale the postcard look at Luigi all the way up there you've been Bowser's hanging out with us oh man and love it I love it so so much huh well with all the kingdoms saved with all the power moons got with everything totally taken care of Mario can finally relax and this series can finally come to an actual true end so Mario's gonna have his nice vacation outfit on and he gets to just relax here in the Mushroom Kingdom for as long as he likes as for the future of us and what we're gonna play like I said I still don't know yet but I'm sure I'll figure something fun out in the meantime I'm sure I've already mentioned it before but if you made it this far into the series thank you so much for watching I really appreciate it and I
