your host game J zero sticks better known as Big John and I will be your tour guide through the Fantastic Exposition demonstration event of Super Mario Galaxy performed by 360chrism any % remember we still have a war going on between the character he will play as we still got a little bit and last one was here it was a pretty big snipe so of course there is a war between Mario versus Luigi right now Luigi has three thousand five hundred ninety seven dollars 51 cents obviously the better brother but for you Mario lovers you want to get him before this guy gets fed up and going he's that $424 and setting once there so quite a ways behind but hey you've seen how this event goes we might just have another snipe in the meantime before we get going with this let's read some of your donations galaxy as Luigi is the era of the boy boys that Luigi was the one okay I'm just gonna start a countdown okay okay three two one go let's do this yeah I usually always run Luigi and never Mario so I'm sorry I'm really happy that this happened and I really wanted to say the difference is because I didn't actually get to say them ever I don't think so for the Mario run if we have to watch the the first intro cutscene which can be a good thing for for a marathon run like a fun fun cutscene but with Mario I'm not gonna be able to do a lot of tricks because they're either Luigi only or I only know how to do them with Luigi and so yeah they're over all the runs a bit cooler with Luigi I would say but Mario has never been shown before and that will continue alright so buddies maybe the hardest part of the entire run it's actually very difficult to catch them right away between these two buildings especially when I'm like not at my home set up and I can't can't aim the star bit as I usually do yeah I also want to introduce everyone on the couch we got spike to my right we got in the center we got pants you and the left side we got shenanigans yes pike it's like that's the Mario speedruns Kingdom Hearts 3 men pants speedruns like everything but he's not good at any of them I had to fight once and Shen was way back mostly Pokemon speedruns he's my randomizer buddy have you played this game never seen it oh yes fen is the only one that's not like running the game so I thought I get one when it doesn't run thing you on the couch so we find the hate man yeah maybe some questions that are you pretty hype right now oh yeah morning oh yeah so glad I'm back at last one I did was uh this one as well two years ago same category so my goal today is to to beat that time from two years ago and also for every death I will donate ten dollars to the charity myself yeah so we have at least the reason to cheer when I die you all match that let's go I could ruin spikes life dang dude I'm sorry I seized one or two in just backup at the end I'll just kill myself to twenty times alright so welcome to Super Mario Luigi galaxy Ronnie to there any differences between Mario and Luigi yeah there's a lot of differences just once again like you said you skip the opening like five-minute cutscene but so Luigi has a higher top speed and he can jump higher and everything which he makes a lot of the skips in this game just much more manageable Mario can do almost everything Luigi can but they're usually much much much much much more as much but the trade-off is also that Luigi basically has ice physics that Mario doesn't so that also that's your trade off that it can make those aspects a lot more difficult yeah Luigi's very slippery you start it takes a bit longer to accelerate and when you stop your slides a little bit but it's it's very nice Luigi also loses more air underwater but it's not a big deal since we're going fast yeah and any person it doesn't matter too much and 120 started actually is quiet quite a pain it could be scared right Rick right here nice oh nice okay that's that you have a few frames to jumpy and you can skip a cutscene and it takes like 15 seconds yeah it's actually a huge there's another one coming up here it always saves a few seconds but it's still nice yeah you want to avoid this Numa yeah so we don't talk about him oh I got a first frame spin there yeah yeah the Bonnies can be a pain that's but it's like the first thing you do so it's it's not a big deal you can just reset and try again yeah the speedrun might sometimes when people first start watching you know you're obviously used and stuff like mario 64 mario sunshine now you've Mario Odyssey and it might seem like oh the like the movements maybe like a little overly simple or something the movement in this game is actually really really hard to do really really well I think that's the same with every game it's yes I think this names a bit easier to get into right away but to get on top level it's just as hard as any other game yeah actually just figured out like some of those plants he had to move around where you have the gravity and the perspective is constantly changing having good movement through there can make it every stream like ten minutes of worth of time over the course of a few hours of gameplay here on very very small planets if you land on them and you keep holding the direction you landed on you're just running the circle even though you just hold one direction it's actually kind of different to because you have the motion controls with the Wii on top of everything else you know some of that gets in there oh also one thing I know a lot of people don't like in the the community but I'm playing on English again and playing the game in Japanese saves text like a minute of text but I I wanted to kept keeping in English again for the story for story you know war all the Lord some stole the maybe the best soundtrack in the Mario series oh yeah oh yeah yeah definitely part of why I like to run it hey chrism yeah we got a fifty dollars and two cents from the worm who says you get honey house get first trial he'll donate another fifty dollars yeah worms very old school galaxy only one of the first I met in the community think you weren't I'll try my best yeah this is a trick or I mean it's not coming out right now but it's the trick I've not done last time I got something that's my new tricks in the back for you yeah lots of text in the beginning but after this it's it's pretty straightforward yeah picks up a lot after like the first couple of stars almost that means I know it took us like a month to get you to not call them stars in Odyssey and now we're like wait so the routing for the stars is relatively straightforward these this person world basically there's only you need to get eight stars total to get to the boss of this first dome the first you know kind of hub world that we're in and there's only nine available to us but as you go through the game it sorts it starts to open up more and what your routing can be yes it's a bit embarrassing but I've been running this game for four years and I still don't remember the route so you don't want to good egg one here because I have the convenience of just using splits when I was old so I never remembered it so just in case bye kisses bone with the route it's not tweeting he's he's helping we're seeing just lots of utilization of the gravity mechanics in this game just little subtle things where he would have had to talk to that luma to make a little a Polestar to get up to that launched star up there but instead he just does a long jump in a specific angle and that actually will give him enough gravity to get all the way up to a Headroom right here he's gonna go for a triple Joe to try to skip having to kill this piranha plant get high enough very nice we got another one coming up right away lots of cool tricks all the way throughout I just go for double jumps depending here yeah I love the gravity picks in this game guessing those are made easier as well by AVGN higher jump every single time I can't come from a launch star except when we enter a level I'm gonna go in first person mode and cancel it immediately that's why you see the screen shake a little bit and you can see the camera on the side and that's that's a landing cancel if you go in first person by the way they skips the like I don't know whatever movie does and what happens second and we go through like a hundred yeah it adds up to like a couple of minutes over the course of the run you're also seeing just any of you who maybe aren't familiar with Super Mario Galaxy there are these little things he's picking up ultra star bits and I believe it around Christmas baking we're going to need a thousand of those throughout the run looks like a lot but it's not it's pretty trivial to get in any in one twenty start you need eight thousand five hundred and that's that's so much you can't even get enough like in a normal run you have to like actually go out of the way and farm you will see him try to kind of optimize getting all of those in the least amount of stars as he can throughout the run where if he only has it he has less than a certain amount you know kind of whatever he feels like at the time I'll try to make sure he has none by the end of it because you can also use them as projectiles which you'll see here probably on the next start oh no we don't want to save either savings much much slower and the game is really nice actually if you came over it it still asked you do you want to say I'm a bit shaky I'm not sure when you nervous [Music] like literally dying don't worry just know you have to go to good egg - thank you thank you very much I think I got the first aid at least yeah like I said it's pretty straightforward the only star we won't be doing here is good egg three normal generally we're gonna try to avoid having to do like longer boss fights but there also is within the routing just thinking about all right you have to beat certain stars to unlock other may be very much play that faster stars later on okay we need 100 star bits here yep - hungry luma in the level in order to actually obtain more than usual route for this area is pretty like specific but it's pretty flexible at the same time oh and yes the Ferrari Luigi these to make sure he doesn't not break that box and kind of one go are there alright we got a pretty difficult escape right here coming out to the luma bow first try there we go it's it's a very small skip stage like I think eight seconds looks super cool yeah utilizing a mechanic in this game of the homing ground-pound which just it'll home into you know an object or anything that you're closest to which in that instance was the luma and because of that intense backflip just indicate the physics of it you get a lot of speed going backwards that's something that just I love in general about the super nerd galaxy games is that maybe they're not as complicated looking at least looking in their movement but um just the tricks are so obvious and so flashy it's really fun to learn this game and run it there you saw once again he is collect all hundred of those building up to it so stars also I just like in galaxy 2 if you end the level with a coin or starve it or or a star weird enough you get for everything you get a text box everything you collected and if you happen to finish a level with how this thing will start of it or how does a single coin you skip that text box and it saves another seconds or so so if I only get like one star but anyway I'm just gonna throw it away just like that second yeah this is definitely being one of those levels still I'm gonna have a few at the end if you could squish you instantly tricks all over the place like putting here tips yeah just ignore them we just knew long time yeah you would get all five little blue star chips there and create pole stars to get to it now we don't need that long jump into it I really like the gravity skips and simple stuff like that in this game however there are some difficult tricks in this game included coming up right here okay this is the star worm don't eat it for 50 bucks if we get it first track this is the one kristenjohn go for last time one of definitely one of the hardest churchmen games some people might even say the hardest with Luigi once again much easier than with Mario yeah this is probably the hardest trick as Mario yeah I can I can agree that again yeah the basic idea is what you're supposed to do on this star is that you go through this entire path obviously the game you know with the camera they would showing you off the queen bees over there you end up getting three Luigi the be powerup going over there you get a bunch of star chips however instead you can do this right here this just a slope running a very simple tack but if you just run up a hill and you keep spitting you don't actually fall down small oversight and right here detect that he's using to allow him to do that to go up that slope if you start to slide down a hill actually I'm just gonna let y'all watch it y'all finger right here he's gonna want to slide on his belly on the way down so he has the maneuver the tree in a very certain way so that ends up happening [Music] try baby Oh let's go nice and clear dead ladies and gentlemen very nice yeah the first ever appearance of captain toad ladies and gentlemen let's give it up very nicely done yeah obviously you could probably tell there just by watching it the most Awkward part of that is just the camera flip right at the end right it hands about to transfer from one tree to the other that's yeah that's very difficult this might be one of the first Mario games you have control of the camera then for the most part I'm so glad I got this way there's like one really really bad outcome where you slide for too far left each side we're gonna try to get that number to a thousand there are a number of stars where you can easily get a hundred plus targets so that kind they're rallying for the start of its when you get most of them in one level that way you're not seeing the text box every time ride again saving a number of seconds over the course of you know oh yeah actually we got another very similar to the trick we just did something I learned it's not as difficult but it looks just as cool yes so usually I do something called tower skip where I proceed from the level and then jump on top of the tower from the very very very top it's a long a long fall but this time I learned new strats these are actually struts I don't know about yeah I just learned them a couple days ago I was it wasn't it wasn't too bad and it's not to punishing camera is really weird here let's go oh and then the homing ground-pound right at the end oh and good boss awesome I like that side too yeah I'm surprised I didn't think I've never seen it before anything yeah skipped over an entire tower there uh extra durable plants they would had to go on down there by skipping that launch start big jump you want to go ahead and read a couple donations as we're getting into the next star well right now we got a fifty dollars from angels Zach says say Chris won to well the puncher at 1:00 we have about what's weird and that needs to happen by the way if you wanna see zallard punch and water one controller we had 29 30 weeks out of 75,000 so you don't want to miss this me I've seen them practice it there's some good stuff he'll be not not only beating my Tyson's punch-out and super punch-out the same time but with the same controller it's gonna be absolutely insane how he's able to do you guys want to donate for that get that in here just skip the flowers faster yeah first time we're seeing B Luigi it gives you a little bit of a hover but it's generally a very slow food we hopefully won't see it too many times to have to run you know we can't we can't do anything whether you can backflip can longevity we can run so we're gonna get rid of it here's a little bit faster which also gives them is tripled up triple jump high enough to get this decide now the getting the third hitch it's gonna be a little bit tricky honestly I play it safe usually there's a way to hit him while he's sideways but very nice and right there showcasing just how intense look she's back flip is I was wondering how they were selling tents compared to just regular jumps in these guys yeah he jumps like four times I wish I had that ability that'd be my Mutant power yeah the most time saves ahead in this level actually comes from the two long jumps at the end instead of walking all the way to the store yeah for not because what that's another just regular ability that you don't have access to while in the be food that the case for all the different students or just to be food no there's a lot of there's a lot of foods that will make better utilization of just the bees probably it's all load here to be honest yeah very to be in the blue see later on in the run we have a level that's entirely designed to use the be powerup and we don't even collect it Yahoo one chat to get your time sure it's not official contest game yeah Chris in his chat I know you like to play I know you at least do this with the upcoming the ghostly to you later on this tutorial is awesome because yeah he needs to hold it in this direction you can't speed this up really did you see had a turn to the left and to the left but but how do you turn right yeah Lexi through there were like a bit smarter and just they just told you how to go left but not too hard to go right oh dang just to get over like in a circles left then it's not really feasible to dodge the coins here that's another case for once again if he can dodge all the coins in a given level they're given star he will yeah everybody remembers man first time I ever saw my boy I ate your pie play this level what a doozy how many did you take awhile I might have taken a little while and this is the easy one this is the one that's like introducing you to get Ausmus ya motion controls I don't know people give a lot of crap to the motion controls in these games but I was they were really well implemented I would say these are actually more well implemented than like Odyssey that just came out yeah they're only in small parts like this yeah it's fun cause he's gonna try to cut these corners as much as we can have the have the mantas arms go just a little bit off there are no major skips in this one that you might think like oh there's some over you could like shoot off one end like right there you could just go to the end of it it's not go up there that would be 57 93 I think he's gonna die you mentioned this last time I didn't know it oh yeah yeah you jump off right after you finish you to hide after you gotta wait a little bit before you mess around with before you swag yeah generally if you have any donations just kind of ride for you get a start we do have like about 30 basically every time and yeah grab a star all right go fast twenty dollars on windy Ben says hey chrism good luck and on the run hope your ring goes three it's true your PB of luck from your community you also have thirty dollars from a clippity-clop so it's glad to get my machine well spike was on the couch and mr. crash framing that Superman's deform runs but I was busy with work see me back in the spike pit deletion goes to spikes choice yeah I brought the straight about it's cold so I can't maybe they where you're showing small doses and I'll say what my devotion choices after this star this is actually uh it might seem like a really trivial star but your movement in here is pretty sick oh very right here at the very heart actually is the first jump you need to get like a weird angle to make that first cycle like that don't wanna get hit by the laser so you can make every other psycho now this should be able to catch this pretty easy right here everyone there's lots of in routes I've seen I was gonna try to carry a triple jump here if the angles this right and pulls himself back with a Spanish should be able to get up to it yeah very nice [Applause] it's a very tough level to do yeah perfectly yeah that is that is definitely a tough early-game star to do well with your movement because you messed it again right there at the beginning if you don't have your momentum going correctly because another problem with Luigi is that while his top speed is faster it takes them longer to get up to that top speed so he's just a little bit slow that laser that comes out will catch you and then all the cycles are messed up and you actually there's quite a bit of time um we have to say what my donation instead is going for here just a couple runs there's my good friends from the King of Hearts community are gonna put on the Kingdom Hearts birth by Sleep Run and yeah there are three carriers you pick from aqua Ventus and Terra any they go to me but you guys should also just donate to Ventus that's the coolest category of the three alright so in this level there's only two planets and we're gonna try to jump from one to the other even though they seem pretty far away but they're not this is one of my favorites oh okay really easy to get your triple jump eaten right there on this glass oh nice yeah the the gravity field on this small planet is so big because of the boss that's standing on it if it wasn't this big we would just follow up I like that trick too this boss fights also pretty tough you need to you want to jump to the ride right away so we can we can catch the psycho on the steps so I use the camera I'm gonna jump like while we're even off-screen still you can hear it otherwise it starts to lift up here and the fast single jump sometimes Cinco jumping is faster than the long jump it's all depending on angles that you're taking on the gravity's that skips over that curve you have to run on would be good now I'm gonna be come see all right we Gaiman show had to donate during Super Mario Galaxy my wife let me do video game music for our wedding and most of the wedding party Internet to the cosmic observatory thing as an added bonus my wife hates here comes the bride so her entry music was the overture to Final Fantasy can't see or play this game now without thinking of one of the happiest days of my life Annabelle knows my company matches my charitable donations felt this is really like a hundred dollars we also have $35 Mon honesty at super Luigi galaxy is the first game I've finished hundred percent I love this game and I'm still playing it on these days wish the best touch of a speedrunner and hello twitch chat donation goes to runner's choice it's one of your favorite speedruns is an aggressive it's one of my favorite games ever it's a probably top three along with I don't know Pikmin 3 if you ever just looking for a good maybe like first 3ds speedrun I think this is one of the absolute best choices cuz again while it is like super chill and the music's great and everything there are just lots of really satisfying tricks and the still feeling is a lot higher than you would think it'd be for this we got a triple jump coming up right here to skip this little teleporter very nice and make sure you don't jump back in run into the that's a bad feel man ok space junk one it's oh yeah it's very inconsistent for me but I'm gonna keep going until I get it because I didn't last I want to say it's it's a new since you did it at 16 yeah it was found out yeah like I you were beating yourself up for not going for I was like I don't think it was the thing how did I not discover it at a gdq 16 ooh fun though was that at agdq 16 where we actually found a new trick in the practice room spike in battle rock I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you one oh I know yeah okay so he's gonna try to he needs to get a specific amount of speed here again just manipulating you know there are all sorts of gravity fields all over the place that he's trying to avoid right there and by pulling himself into the background just like that he's able to skip all the way to the end of the level basically that saves like 25 seconds you get it first tries yeah second side was worth it yeah yeah and he didn't fail it like a lot of times you'll kind of commit to it and you'll fall all the way back to like the beginning of the stage you have to run back up again shooting ray let's start it so you won't have to see the white one second text box the end of it and here you know a lot of its having it memorized have a few scary jumps here knowing exactly when to spin if he spins a little bit late there not only you know what caused the death but it just also would lead to it due to what a bomb I jump into this bus till the store because Luigi's so slippery he would just like slide off the platform when during the cut like when the cutscene ends but now they're jumping that can just turn around and run to the start good yeah good start that's and that's an early run killer for sure yeah it seems like a lot of the gravity tricks are kind of all or nothing if you missed the planet you're driving off the map oh no we would have been back at where we came from there's usually always a gravity that pulls you okay because you're not avoiding death plains than that instance it's just avoiding other gravity fields they're gonna either want to pull you like further into the level like it intends for you to do or pull you back to the start there are cases where it won't kill you but it's pretty obvious yeah in galaxy 2 there's actually one level where they completely forgot to add a Death Zone so if you just if you fall down after like a you're just standing there in the middle of nowhere Lilla nothing hey I got a bus fight coming up this one is the tricky one can be tricky oh it's the Camela yeah the shells can be a bit tricky sometimes that they aim like here right here if I was standing a little bit further to left it would have aimed at be careful with that make sure you don't like slide down the wall these like little tie-in pigs yeah normally this boss wants to I mean you got to hit it with three shells but we're gonna make that moving up to it a little bit slower if you how you can kind of home in on different objects the old triple jump here skip over that yeah we take the green shell with us into the battle so we can get hearty hits right away and using that little mini launch star right there would have actually broken the shells so he wanted to make sure he dodged that right they're kind of waiting to see whether Camela went to the left or the right side oh there's always you're the left I'm making stuff up that's par for the course for me he has also start where you can jump right into the shell and spin catch and throw it midair but after running this day for years and I failed it so many times it's pretty tricky especially in a later level where you're like oh you only have one HP and you have to beat them with only one HP I know [Music] the guy in donations we can jump in on them again alrighty we have three dollars from witty keen that says a christen you and a you know diverge you just kind of go the linear route a little bit more here instead of doing space junk 3 instead we're just going to leave space junk there's actually I know they started to make an alternate route where you could go there but yeah here in this route I'm using is a tiny bit outdated they changed one star I believe yeah yeah the routing for this hasn't changed at all over the years you're gonna go for this small scope here no yeah this one if you get it saves like four seconds and if you miss it you down here right here if you jump down to the right leaves a lot of momentum you can jump on the rail and you end up you miss it you don't ever say it's like three seconds we can cut it even okay okay sure but yeah obviously he wants to be running staying on the ground because every time you have to jump it reset your momentum so he wants to stay on the ground running as much as possible as opposed to having to jump over these goombahs but the almost Loran and where they are who keeping the running all the way they were some bros there but he is all right yeah I don't want to bounce over them and slows you down a lot there you go and then we go a bit a rock yes battle rock one two and three for the fans no secret no garbage clearing in this one sadly everyone's favorite story you have to clear the garbage with the Bombers what a great yeah I can also make it hard just because I know chrism also runs the 120 star category of this the routing would be completely different like that star you just did right there you would do it like 70s or something the routing is mostly focusing on like at certain amount of stars you get teleported back to Rosalina so you want to combine that with another teleport so you don't have to you reduce travel in the star observatory we're also gonna see here a number of stars were you know that we're gonna start to see these that Frank your comet start to pop up and they'll only pop up at certain numbers like every other star I'll stay right here very difficult triple jump any guy first try yeah that's that's actually really hard to do and here's the here's the trick we found yeah you won oh I was I was messing around with Mike in the practice room and I I realized that you right after landing do a backflip you can actually skip the platform or the trampoline so one thing I contributed but here we got an autoscroller so naturally we'll keyed off for donations but also Kristin's gonna have some fun with the gravity right here show off its physics and this is a really good place where she'll do this level twice by LD worth and star wise and get a lot of star bits with that Big John and Julie alrighty you've got 20 hours from CK to 12 that's it so things whether that get to work from home coins give health back in this game too straight up miss yeah it's very finicky moving these the bullet builds around mm-hmm I was about to compliment you on family oh you just very easily if you don't make them ride a very specific line all the way to the stark age it'll see the other cage that it goes right by and straight Oh looky there and try to lock onto that instead you got that part and then it rammed into his face but it is how do the triple jump again and again just imagine like a lot of these traits like they're relatively lenient with Luigi and they are just generally much harder with Mario his match high just isn't as high also one thing you want to run this game you spin much higher when you're holding a that's the thing that's so important like a lot of tricks are impossible if you're not holding like if you're not holding a yeah that triple jump he did at the beginning also with Luigi it's really weird you want to shake with the Wiimote if you're playing with Mario but if you're playing with Luigi yes you want to shake the nunchuck the nunchuck gives Luigi a bit more height than Ramona I have no idea why that's the gaze yeah yeah it's very small but like I could never get into just switching like between them when I was running mario amaya I used the nunchucks been like once this run sure like a very very tight jump everything I just go with it so not natural for me here we got a good new trick coming up that I didn't do last night me though so I'm gonna take this bomb and put it like behind the cage here so I don't get hit right away and then I position myself around here so I can talk to him right away and before I jump in that star I'm gonna look up for like two seconds Oh was a bit too far away and that activates that launch star and I can I can use it right away instead of going through it once and then falling back into it I've actually seen that skip before but never knew how to do it yeah I just learned it a couple days ago as well yeah launch stars in this game they're a bit broken they need a bit to activate usually yeah I think it's 2 seconds or so they fixed that in in galaxy to galaxy to launch stars they are they work immediately after appearing yeah there's need to be a camera for like and this one let's make sure we don't miss yeah it also look up and check the cycle so I think the crystal is still on the far side now because we looked at it yeah make sure very nice one cycling that because if he missed that he would have had to go all over the other side and go through that same process right there wasting yeah because because I looked at it it moved and things things in his name only move when were there on screen so a lot of cycles to can influence by just looking away our first person looking at it or something this one too I think okay yes that's fine I don't know yeah depending on what you're moving throughout the entire stage has been you could possibly shoot you you're right to start oh baby that was a really good okay where do you yeah battle rock through okay we're gonna be going this is the the the topper not topper I've been played to a child to see the the top the devil this is a great boss fight if it goes correctly want to read off one quick donation before we get into start all right and as you can clearly see Thomas says twenty dollars says who needs real Luigi anyway everyone knows only brother is Luigi I'm glad they John got to be on host for the Luigi runner I'm guilty of not preparing enough for I was a part of it was like I mean it all worked out gonna Canada and trussed up for another triple jump here after taking that quick bit of damage that want to be part of the run totally part of it yeah normally got away here but oh you just playing it safe yeah backflip the triple jump is so tricky is if you mess up the angle slightly you just like start orbiting oh okay makes no sense like how did you shoot it for how to come towards the screen right there okay in here there is a cycle an early cycle you want to catch up also I store it I store it a spin there to like just touch the box and it's exploiting normally as you can see it wants you to like hit these green switches to switch the gravity constantly but instead I believe we're gonna go through this whole thing without changing it one's got a good cycle there very nice once again we're never gonna switch the gravity very good that's definitely a very perilous stage right there right here they want you to jump off this guy but instead one to see also I love this room right here just watch it's very fast so much pressure on me spike to edit us you got to take out oh I'm putting the pressure on beyblade the double-double the dumbbell yeah the star boots are very useful yeah we tried to do another orbit on it I like calling them orbit backflips that's such a cool name yeah this guy's the boss but if you do it right it could be pretty easy to mess it up though there is a daredevil version of this boss and like a small mistake it's one of those bosses that a lot of times it'll just look like that well one hit to hit three hit and then you'll just die sometimes on it and everyone will make fun of you and your chat and you feel real bad it's it's pretty simple so yeah dying on something at least for someone that knows how easy it is I like that a lot of things and speedruns they look super difficult and everyone starts clapping but any other way around to some things like super difficult and looks like everyone can do it spike oh yeah we don't do the sleeper in the comment on there I'm gonna look ahead a few stars all right don't they'll be touched on this you need 60 stars total right yes yes 60 stars total to unlock the last level and then that star counts as well so it's 61 for the whole run yeah there's two requirements the game looks forward to send you to the final stage you need 60 stars total and you need to be both of the two bowser fights before that to make him appear over there so so little bit of an essence 64 themed throwback here not correctly going around this herd path can be really really awkward actually yeah hey that's like cool I was really good movement to beat it as easily as he did you can make an early cycle here you can but it's risky you're playing with gravity pretty hardcore try to get up very nice quick side flip right there you don't see it's not MRSA for you don't see a lot of side flipping in this game but they actually still can be very useful very ready yeah side flips and these Bowser's pages just like an estimate for they kind of highlight the movement quite a bit it's just good movement over an obstacle course and swords and right here instead of going all the way around we're then going to just go across you want to make sure you spin early there if you wait a little bit longer you just bonk with the wall you don't want your spins to actually come in contact with walls otherwise it's like almost like a mini bonk of swords yeah just slightly away from the wall and on this wall it's you can't walk icky either it doesn't work so you really want to go on top otherwise just go that was your fights are actually i think really hard to optimize them this game nursery rhymes about he's going to try to get him to go straight down onto this and then he kinda has to make a judgment goes it's random how Bowser will run around the stoner who think you just I think it's because of how the game works for things that are not I have never done and then yeah you think he's EP was there but no you really want to try to watch you would you know there's a bunch of stuff inside of this little planet so you're kind of try to look her though all right which was going some people will just like to wait a little bit chrism is moving here before he's already moving sort of committing to one side we're gonna yeah wrote something straight there always hope nothing gets in the way yep just like in sm64 the balls of fights are basically the same with like a little twist the last one has the coolest effects I would say I agree but with that we are heading out of dome to we'll be coming back here just a little bit later again there is gonna be some backtracking for faster stars and certain instances will return to basically I think everything at least ones except the top stage right yeah because of comments and and Luigi's Louie Luigi Luigi start yeah remember if you might you might remember from playing this game if you replace Mario you save Luigi in certain levels but what happens when you play the weak Mario this is nothing what a twist we'll find out yeah but with that we'll be heading up to the third down what is this like the kitchen or something just okay is there any like there utensils or anything in there is very thick indicating that it's a kitchen I don't remember it look like there's just a fireplace yeah I don't know one's a bedroom that has very clearly a bed in song so swing your arms from side to side come on it's time to go do the Mario I think we might have to do some research on that I don't you don't know that now I remember watching that I've heard it before but I was a baby child all right so this level we were supposed to get five star chips underwater these things [Music] there to fill the launch start to get the start on the top but just go that way this is subtly it might look mundane this is one of the hardest tricks in the game I promise you guys it's so this wall just hates you yeah you can yeah I go around because it's a bit glitchy even though it looks like we could walk it there you would just slide down to the very bottom yeah one of those subtly frustrating tricks oh by even just doing that jump off the tree skips over those the collection of the star chips so it's sometimes you can wall kick sometimes you just slide down sometimes you let's grab sometimes you skip the ledge grip and sometimes you just like it pushes you away and you can do anything yeah we don't know why though we have we haven't figured out why does that I'm sure it's like some people something palm tree that that's like moving up and down when we jump of it and that gives me luigi like a glitch state or something yeah there's no weird things I mean I don't want to talk about it too much because I don't think any of us here understand I think it's a developer thing trying to make people God skip it it's something with like they call it like the tilt in this game like certain states you can be in based off of objects like the palm tree yeah I don't it's none of us get it none of you at home would get it either I mean maybe something all we get I don't know call it if you know what it is donate it there's one of the more straightforward stars right here dude wants you to go get the shell and bring it back to them you go ahead and swim right through here live just a little bit faster than long jumping over you would think swimming like in most games would be slower in this game you guys should go very very fast because in galaxy one they allow you to spend the entire time pants mention it earlier though see that air meter it's running out a lot faster not a big deal here he's brought underwater for two but it will be a factor in later levels see if I can get a cool trick here yeah I can do it I want to be closer to the penguin so his belly pushes me into the star and it looks really cool but I think I'm due for her yeah I figured that out myself a few days ago that is so cool yeah usually it's always awkward getting bachelors you know start up a run with Luigi the backflip usually won't get back to it that's that's pretty hilarious I'm not gonna lie you know boat beach ball ass ass and everything except the comment I believe you yes beach ball one of those where we're going to be loading up on a lot of stars just a lot of really fast stars as you can see here this is one of the this the first instance you're seeing we're within one of the scenarios there's a secret path you can go on so even though they're showcasing this to us we will do that on the very next star but first up we're going to go pick up a shower instead go around the side path here and get introduced to my personal favorite powerup I'm so sad they didn't bring it back in galaxy to the other ice ice hating us back but not the powerup I like that one too that does want to be careful because that she'll if he tries to throw it early we'll just slam right into the wall starting off with a triple jump here in order to get enough height to skip having to make some other things appear to get up to that get that cat a quick over there supposed to throw you in there everyone's favorite enemy from sunshine I thought we could get through this drug without having to talk about closures on the couch so nice getting here fast enough to grab that second ice powerup before the first one runs out singing just a little bit of transformation time and actually pretty good yeah oh yeah one little thing mechanic about this game actually when you spin and you're facing forward you go you don't go far but if you spin backwards you gets a lot of momentum from it and we try to use that in a lot of a lot of cases it was used in the honey hive one skip when that's why he got on his belly sliding down the tree yes so we're going backwards yeah exactly that's why I was sliding down on my belly gear instead of just forward it also seems like it cancels why the forward momentum as well said we're down there too yeah again his name's physics are pretty wonky which makes for some cool but also weird-looking tricks so right here the reason why he was able to skip that opening cutscene is go stopping to watch the ouija go all the way down is because typically he already entered this star before this scenario so he's allowed to skip it coming in even though we didn't do this all right so another one of the more perilous and difficult tricks in the run for sure and he's got to do it twice here uh yeah idea once last year maybe I can do it twice no without dying doing this with Mario is like impossible and do as Luigi is still very very difficult yeah trouble jump so we don't have to wait or go around this enemy normally they want you to go around this long pasture right however however yo got the wall cake nice also a bit tricky with Luigi we yoshifan found a setup that actually works very reliably with with Mario another trick like probably lot of people stay home like oh that looked easy trust me there's only certain parts for that wall you can actually kick off of so you can just do it it seems like it looks the same every single time but instead yeah you'll just slide off the wall and just fall to your doom and then you have to go back to the beginning of that little cyclone section and yeah that's the first of two times it's gonna have to go for it okay I got a really cool level coming up with one of the only yeah that's definitely a fun star to do runs of but yeah we're gonna do like an orbit here Ian oh never mind off just that little what he was trying to yeah off just that little single jump right there sometimes the fastest movement is just having a little single jump most make sure he gets a little bit of a run started right there so that he goes into the fold to speed run right off here at the beginning is a bit tricky don't it belongs definitely wants to terror leave just at there though here this powerup as far as he can so he can kill that boo with the power that's suppose nothing to tarry him over to the light and then carry it into this room getting as many star chips as he can before runs out one two okay okay about two and a half so pretty solid and I'm setting up this triple jump very nice into that first one that's not easy to do this is a really difficult room I talked about how difficult than the movement in this game is to actually do well and that room definitely adheres to that okay we'll just let you guys see it it's it's a really cool thing pretty specific though to pull it off can rent a new set up to yo first there right and we're in there a little flip through the floor into this mention also because you didn't you never collected the key the lights are a bit broken and we're saving ourselves yeah you play as Mario Luigi's here start playing throughs Luigi you would think that it would be Mario nope it is just another Luigi I like that though yeah that's cute because Mario wouldn't get lot straying yeah I pay attention like yeah so we're getting called back over here cuz i was saving luigi in addition to doing that star which is pretty naturally on the path it also is going to allow him to start going around and finding three other hidden stars which we're gonna want to get all three of actually he does want to make sure he goes and talks luigi year to actually activate that though wait well first first up snow early on in the game even though he needs a only a thousand total for the run he did want to kind of favor getting more started for me early for the game cuz need 400 of those thousands right here the other 600 he needs that be like very end of the run so from here it's gonna be pretty trivial for him to pick up the rest of them yeah that way because if you get too far away you stop feeding the hungry luma so that's him optimizing his movement away because you can move luigi around while that's going on and the reason why he goes ahead and does that is because once again the launch star has delay this is another one that is funny it might just look like it's long jump the star it is and it is but again very hard to optimize your movement trying to angle your long jumps play and not jump into pit not annoying around these corners not like in Mario 64 once the long jump you can't change your angle in this name actually you can if you delay your long jumps a little bit mm-hmm just kind of stop it right there also it's actually pretty difficult focusing on collecting star bits while you're doing movement yeah that multitasking yeah so doing that it's going to change the cycles up a little bit for him throughout the rest of the stars so you're gonna have to make little adjustments and usually improv a little bit we cooked over the last one very nice yeah and a lot of places that you do Blanc you die because the whole spins like I'm tree so like we're there sometimes when you get off the cycle never know what's coming up so since II talked to Luigi there again now Luigi's gonna go around and try to find those three hidden stars for you two of the three are very very fast it's gonna get all of them though and this will give them an automatic cutscene where you talk to male toad showing off just where he is the other two he is gonna have to remember to talk to male toad otherwise Luigi won't spawn more you know coming up with the fastest star in the run yeah it's too fast so I get so tingly fast that pole stars nice there's two I think actually three of the domes where you can actually just based on the camera you can actually grab that during the while you're loading it in you're already getting pull down pretty cool and I'm grabbing the the first level here instead of the third one so I can skip these cutscenes otherwise we have to watch and good level all right let me talk about this last time you read that is not the easiest star in the game actually it is not triple jump spin can be very difficult the space thing idly oh jeez yeah it must seem like a meme that that is true most all of these most difficult tricks in the run are like triple jumps because it's really easy especially with Luigi to just not have your third one golf because you're sliding and this is actually the first comic star of the run that we're seeing right here based on it yes this is about it set around 20 stars where they start to spawn but I'm just kind of difficult challenges that the game will throw at you red means the speedrun comet which funny enough fun fact about this run he will never actually do a speed run comic star in this run Dave there's like four of them in the game and they make you go through really long levels like yeah you have to go fast in them but they're not fast enough to make the cut here but just they just exactly the same as the regular yeah but here he's gonna try to time this boobs get it we got some other more chances later yeah there are four cosmic Luigi races right here and they're all pretty difficult casually he actually moves faster against four ouija than he would against yeah what's nice is that all for them are fast enough because there's a big skip for all four of them so good yeah nice little skip very much not trivial races casually but he's got some cool skips the shadow yeah shadow the weasel definitely he's quite a bit faster okay we're done here now we'll be heading back over to dum 3 yes yes we will be doing the the second common star routes now we're going back to Beach Bowl for the comic there once again cameras being awkward here trying to line up for this triple jump that's the technique generally obviously you can see all the way throughout the run see like is that I mean I know there's a pot there that they're cooking something okay I see the kitchen aspects of it now oh I believe as much so now we'll be going to Beach Bowl for the second combo right right star it's baked it's be the splits so the yellow style here you only spend a couple times but yeah it's everything sped up now everything's going twice as fast we're just really just gonna affect these opening cycles that he's gonna have to mess with and then he's gonna have to go for the exact same Skippy she went for the last time we see we can go two for two again very difficult trick right here also you can just like hold right by the way there we go oh my gosh too soon I was a bit scared there I thought I spun a bit too early but good stuff good stuff any of you not appreciating how hard that trick is whenever I run this game again just watch me do it three times and it'll look exactly the same it looks like oh there's just parts of the wall let's say now I'm good can wall kick me yeah so we had set up right after the spin the whole tour all the wall and then and then I let go of it again and somehow that makes the bubble breeze has a cool yeah this is one of my favorite tricks and the rod and also just the bubble is cool yeah when it's done really fast yeah like Kris better show okay that's right no you can just go real fast with the bubble in this game yeah it's one of my favorite again like I like the motion controls in this game actually quite a bit maybe even it's good yeah you want to like go around this sign so it doesn't talk to you billboard that's his name first half of the level they want you to get all these star chips we're gonna be going real fast and if you come in contact with any of these spiked balls right here then you die so you need to especially watch out for this last one right here all stopping I went through the the launch door and just hit the wall and died there's an invisible ground as you see right there and that's the end of level ladies and gentlemen yeah totally skipping the second half yeah that's thing that is super duper slow it's a big thing one of the biggest time saves yeah I think it is probably like 3040 seconds no you're going to ghostly ass the secret another really cool star it's an autoscroller but we got some autoscroller skips going for this one very difficult with Mario once again and with Luigi it's kind of easy yeah once again they want you to do this spooky sperm right here which we will actually be coming back for in a little bit I heard something about points in the craft yes we're giving away points for this one we're doing the secret first no not yet not yet once again you can see you're utilizing we'd use a little bit longer jump longer long jump to skip over having to wait for these platforms and not even get the key right there to open the door this one's a little tight also once again not sure if that one would be possible if you weren't holding a during the spin might not be enough distance this autoscroller also has a skip where you walk the invisible walls but because you have to land on like a very very thin wall however he can go through this one as well as backups not have to wait for nearly as long go out get the key and come right back and get the star nicely executed thank you in the yeah this bowser yeah again we're not totally done with this dome there's a few stars will come back for later on there's a lot of them that just they're super duper fast they just haven't unlocked yet from not having enough total stars if you want one of the easier in this run this one's right over I can do this yeah the boss fight he is very very difficult though yeah it's just a walk going on and you're relying on the shells homing which is not reliable this guy one of the hardest boss spies the boss fights to optimize for sure actually last gdq wa during this run at this level i i for some reason i was holding two shells at once one of one was in my hands i thought one was orbiting around me it was a glitch i've never seen before they normally want you to shoot off there to the right go to this other thing otherwise you just blast off that way and then that Polestar you'll always be able to catch yourself so it's really really easy my favorite there is that you can actually instead of using that you can shoot just right on to this ship but you're going on right now but it's AIT's so little time compared to it you gotta just turn there's no time to line it up and it's really specific just a turn and just blast it immediately otherwise you're not saving time so here's the tough boss fight we want to if we miss the shell we'll have to dodge more things and improvise but if if everything goes well right away it's one-fourths forehead stone just hit the face right geo dodging all those dollar bills angle around everything and I got the shell too nice all right that's three hit points there he's got two in the second phase try to get this one over the molten lava balls and then right here for ya that last shell definitely was holding for a Louisville yeah but that one was going towards the right because it was aiming for the bullet bone but it was just early enough so it still hit yeah this is one you'll definitely struggle on when you start running this game and with that we're actually before we ghost instead of just going straight to the fourth to him the bedroom we're actually gonna be doing some cleanup in the in a couple of domes all over the place we'll go to the second dome for battle rock scene so make sure you talk to toad right now yes thank you this is like a such an awful time loss you get for just forgetting to talk to male toes cuz that's what's gonna spawn the second Luigi the second which is actually kind of slow but the third of eg once again is so fast it's worth it to go ahead and do by doing a block 3 where we fought the the top man fight that pays off here routing lies because now you get to do this this type of comet is the daredevil runs meaning you have one health so as trivial as this boss look the first time you make one little mistake or one of the tops with the spikes on their head a lot of times they'll kill you spend anything right underneath you as you're up in the air making a spin and you got so we'll see how the fire fighters able to go you can't get hit there by the laser all right it looked exactly the same as earlier yeah it's also kind of hard cuz you're collecting all their star bits during the fight too so the your LT tasking makes it well at this point you're actually fine on star bits because the last levels are very generous if I grab star bits casually like well now we make it to the we need 600 still and we would have like a thousand 200 cedis another 424 here so here we're going to go I think you consider this the actual easiest star hurry-scurry galaxy up there and there's our site before 3g yep her story then battle raquel Oh Luigi takes you out because it's a green star we are literally the livesplit right am I saying that right you have it you have this is easier than Luigi and good egg it's called walking a straight line sometimes you have to turn there's yeah I guess there is there's actually another planet like this later on we don't we don't do in this run where every single tile is covered with a note and that one can be difficult it's ours if you don't come up with a proper or like way to do it and right here this might always look a little bit scary like oh I just kind of want to wait on the platform let you fall down that is now basically the middle of the things so you ground pound you'll always home in right on that if you if you missed the story you would orbit around it until you hit it didn't know that and now we'll do our last star of dome to officially finishing off our trips here well we'll get battle rock Luigi where he's got to execute that very tough triple jump that we talked about again at the beginning but after that we'll go into another autoscroller can you pick up quite a few star beds yeah I usually get star bits here so I can skip more later on because it's a it's a bit unfortunate that we have to do the exact same level twice but and we got to do this jump again once or like a star nice also something I did not do two years ago the bounds you like cancel it right before you hit it you get like extra height and that just barely makes it up there and even if it takes and then here we want to skip a planet try to carry this flower he only gets he's out of spins here but he did keep this all the way and now instead of utilizing a Plains just gonna triple join I question mark to they knew they were like this thugs because things only move when they're on screen this is a very very tough to maneuver one he's gonna be coming up here I mean they're gonna be showcasing it to you with this little planet right here you got one of these little like little moles he does wanna make sure he's within the galaxies gravity field or within the planets gravity field before he does that but he's got three bowls he has to get rid of waiting a little bit to get this one around the corner first and then I walk and try to get both at the same time yeah uh I mean this guy just came on so we're just gonna chase down one yeah as you kill each of them the other ones will speed up so chasing it down can be pretty annoying yeah messing this up I didn't know that would be bad yeah this is one of the easiest if not the easiest planet in the game to just lose time on in any percent yeah I think it's just the last one it's just the third one okay I was here the fastest option is a triple jump not a long jump this not get like this boost from the gravity we got some time for more donations all righty we have we have $30 from Anonymous's galaxy is one of my favorite later because we're doing both of these back-to-back so you can do them in either order but you obviously want to give yourself two opportunities to not miss the secret star path I like the movement gets all of them to spawn a rainbow luigi power up coming up near the end but again he's also trying to optimize not spending too much time on his way here I was trying to play in the wind bending lunches you can you can skip this little plant it's pretty difficult when you're trying to get all of those coins so he was able to get all of them so he didn't miss this rainbow power up and you see the golden chump over there and implementing little jumps around each of these corners of each of the planets just to skip over you know got really corners with the dibs that's right they're not probably wondering how are you playing as Luigi and oh if you finished the game with 120 stars as Mario you you start a new game plus adventure with Luigi which is exactly the same but the play will yeah it doesn't give you any extra I mean unless you consider Luigi the power of it doesn't give you any other advantage besides that and skipping the opening like five minute cutscene slash level zero there he got the rainbow power up anyways it just makes moving through here much more consistent and it's about the same speed gravity year can be really wonky because as you move around this edge okay that's actually a good stroke yeah you want to go under it because otherwise gravity is just weird suddenly the movement in this game is impossible to do completely correctly an optimize okay so a new threat very very very difficult jump I did not do that last time who go for the big boy oh I like this one this is actually like one of the coolest areas there's so many skips and we're probably gonna get to see the coolest one I was too far to the the down side of him so he was stuck in a Ledge grab that angle is absolutely awful that you have to jump at I'll go for it again first doll oh yeah you're going for it once more if I don't get it he's right which is right there we got it which is funny because that last planet is supposed to be shooting cannonballs and stuff you I don't know if it's like a trigger you're supposed to hit or just it's a it's the next gravity which that activates terms those on yeah so it makes running along that last planet pretty trivial yeah that's that's a pretty difficult one I'd show my sugar both at the same time you really wanted it and so with that we're going in for just one more star here in gravity garden or gusty garden yeah the last one was like gravity scorann balls I was mixing up but once again we got the daredevil Comet here gonna have to fight major burrows again and like I said earlier in order to do this boss quickly you want to stay closer to him because then he'll come up out of the ground faster so it actually makes this pretty scary cuz now if you take one hit again you going back yeah it's I usually here without knowing that you can shoot him what starts to slow him down I had biggest troubles on the last hit because he's really fast say I read you want to starve its spite give us your impression of him you're welcome yeah here's the pretty scary one he's gonna kind of like move around in a circle because again Luigi takes a while to start running so this been like starting up his momentum and then curving around so he can already be going but also be in front of them notice their ground patented twice even before he got back in the ground it's yeah it doesn't matter he still gets knocked out and with that that is sadly it for a few mario galaxy song but we're going into one of my favorite levels in the speedrun actually i think so too for me I love all the stars here a lot of speedrun strats are really cool kicking it off here with these splits at least a freeze flame secret flames secret yeah freeze flame climbing the mountain it's just overall all the movement and they're super cool yeah and it introduced this nono introduce me but we're gonna get to see a lot more my personal favorite powerup in galaxy 1 well second favorite my favorite powerup is the bubble above us real good again we're gonna fight berenberg after this but first up we're gonna go along this secret path climbing on start so there whenever you're skating you want to constantly spin and do those jumps to carry your momentum you can actually also right there he actually did a long jump a lot of people don't know you can long-term well skating I ran this game many times before I knew you could love gym which makes them jump [Music] which might seem like I'd seems like gonna be a rather slow star but again the the path will be going on he's up quite a bit first going to make a beeline over to this area again long jumps clearing all that and then we come over here again same trick we talked about earlier if you have a slope at these angles you can actually just keep spinning this very simple tech to do you just keep spinning and just infinitely walk up it they fixed that in galaxy to a bunch of time he doesn't want to pick up the fire flower power up here which is scary thing about having the fire flower or the fire flower power up we could skipper we would but we need it to blow up in this platform is that now your spin won't allow you to save yourself nearly as well you want to avoid that as much as you can using another triple again I'll let you guys just watch it normally they want you to blow up this snowman we're just gonna use this hat and go up like that instead and then go up this side showing off all the tech in this game nice to are well executed those ice pads still give me nightmares yes they love to just time their head read as you're over that pit thing we saw right there and then you are frozen going all the way down it's a great feeling without we're gonna kick off this first star here we're going to go down the actual path to go to the first main wait I was like oh this is smart oh never mind you once again Luigi backflips really high up in the air which is good for trivializing his boss nice this is where like if you don't have any star bits like you're you're furiously trying to shoot them away but yeah for this little I just get them because they're way too hard to not collect mine excellent yeah a lot of times to try to shoot them away and then shooting them away your pointer will come back on screen and you'll get another one yeah as you're leaving and they'll give you that glorious one star bit so yeah not a bad idea just to forget about it with that yep freeze flying to right here it's more ice-skating coming up yeah and they claim twos the one it's got some big old yeah this is probably my favorite star in the entire game yeah it's it's it's really cool showing a new a new tech here as well that we have seen at the very end talk about it later I actually don't know which of the stretch you're going for I was gonna go with the flow right here it's a little subtle piece of tech but whenever he spins into these he then drops into neutral so that he doesn't move forward and that allows you a little bit of time for the star chip to actually like be active and it's the box so that he can keep his momentum going forward yeah though ice would you was you would just go through them there's a number of different skips he could I like to use right here well I was just aback and wait to see which one he uses and I'm hoping for what yeah now they're all cool they're all cool but also be disappointed yeah normally they want you to like unlock old pop here now we're just gonna get on top here jump straight over to the other side of the planet I'll take it I'll take a damage boost here nice and then here you wanna keep spinning it looks like you could time it but you wanna just spin as fast as you can because it buffers the input and then you actually gain height and yeah right into the star yeah yeah there's an alternative strap you can go for there it's much riskier it saves like almost no time it's the same time hey just look so it looks I mean those the cool stuff right there but it just looks even cooler but it requires you to pick up extra health in order you and make it work you just do a lot of damage boost yeah you hit a slant in the lava and it messes up like the gravity completely you just fly you just go flying but here we are our second cosmic Luigi race again cosmic Louie's are much faster against Luigi than they are for causes Mario on Mario's campaign so this is actually one of the toughest for sure but I'm with the utilization of those long jumps in the ice skating should be able to trivialize it to at least a certain stand one star bet for good luck it it's pretty basic when when you're still running the game there we got the good start getting getting that good start and then the movement afterwards is super awkward just instantly you're going off of the platform you have to anticipate that you're gonna get to good start or you'll die if you don't this will run right off the edge I got rid of this garbage on top of that can be a bit confusing doing two things at once trying to not collect star bits and shoot annoying and also with that we go into our final star freeze point please find three it's probably that you see that secret path or whatever you want to call it for cosmic Luigi first because that's the main thing at the end of this star actually sorry gosh no it's different it's got Ralph about this first planet right here so what's the ice-skate all the way around dodge all this lava and stuff instead he's just going to jump from one side to the other which can be really awkward with the gravity and the cameras what's over here it smells cool - yeah that's the planet that can be gift all to do correctly - one cycle they want you to go to the other side and grab the fire flower power up then bring it back over but it can be your movements got to be pretty good to get back here all the way and get both the torches in one go but again utilizing that gravity getting pretty far he's trying to make this kind of one consistent movement and then long jump from the top of this specifically because we you know we're men again yes that saves a lot of time through that long jump a trivializing this is quite a bit actually making this cycle yes so much time left yeah well you carry it that far you know you had good movement there again you utilize them in their landing Cancellara and he's been doing to land again she's all over the place so now needless to say if you don't have this ice power up that lavas gonna do a lot of damage for you it's gonna try to skip them as he goes though and we need one of them to make it to the n-word chain and chain and rainin don't work shouldn't worry about it too much sometimes when you're trying to shoot away Starbucks there I've been died put the effort of it so I may I just take the second and with that we're actually done with both of the main levels here and we're gonna be moving into a honey climb I think it's called yes so time flies so fast when I play this game I've been running it for so long and I still absolutely enjoy running it not many games can do this what's you guys this game that you can play for the longest and still didn't get the cuff oh my gosh I actually Galaxy would honestly be up there for me I love this game quite a bit it's I mean I love Mario 64 definitely as the speedrun i've gotten a Schnauzer for it but this game is so clean it's got so many cool just natural speedrun strats probably everyone when they played this game the first time you did any 3d Mario that isn't sunshine Super Mario Sunshine fan clubs sitting here on the couch today you like sunshine don't you Chris whoa who's one of your first beat games it was one of my first speed games I played it for a very very very long time and now I don't want to play it anymore it's it's it's AIT's a tough one but someone stay at a high level that for sure as you see right here this is a great level four star bag collecting if for some reason you were short on your 600 star bets you can pick up like almost 200 here very easily I still enjoy sunshine bingo because if you don't know how the pressure of like trying to PB shine is actually but speedrunning it's just so frustrating to me nowadays they've seen some walkout thing goes for those it seems really cool also just subtle peace attack is using right here to not have to float as much in between them just kind of tapping it makes you go a lot further as opposed to just holding down the button so he gets to skip over a lot more platforms with that we're going into our final level of the fourth warp the bedroom we're gonna be doing our second Bowser fight which again the game is checking for two things to allow you to go beat the game you need 60 stars total but you also need to be 2 Bowser's yeah I don't think it's actually possible to get 60 stars before beating this boss I don't think I'm even if we did the great dusty dudes but yeah you do need to clear them out here otherwise you just yeah otherwise they're not gonna start to tap down to 50 stars this level is really impressive I would say yes definitely one of the most difficult stars in the entire run entire game in general some crazy gravity skips we're gonna be trying to utilize here you just remember this set of platforms right there yeah really that one right there and 64 if I was in music again trying to catch some cycles here turning up this next little section Oh chaining it off of the Goomba right there this triple jump can be really tricky coming Kent let's grab or wall take that one so you need to get a lot of height for them you can make it with the back flip but it's a lot slower to just set up all that and try to get right on the railing there to avoid that dark matter again trying a lot of times you'll do that where you're trying to set up a long jump you'll backflip instead just physically gee hasn't quite started moving yet you know how slippery he is whew I like the crowd right there ooh so coming up here is one of the coolest skips in the entire run first off just laying right there and then hopefully he does it here we go nope that was a weird yeah I know he just decided to go the other way sadly it almost feels like you hit an invisible ceiling right there there just pushes you back down thankfully you can go for it again right here oh I usually wait so I can land on this right away okay there you go nice so I think that was my second death and once again for every time I die in this run I'll donate ten ten dollars to charity myself matching as well and again I always like for these sorts of things nicely skipping over all those normally you break those crystals it gives you more stairs to go up any of these sorts of games that we always play here where it's like alright for every death or whatever we donate at to nine dollars even if you guys can just do a couple of dollars for that five dollars one dollar whatever denomination that's much appreciate just more money to charity you know speaking of charity we have already met the task light breaking Super Monkey Ball we have working that step in case so good job everybody animation he doesn't need to get up very quickly though in order to actually dodge that talk because if those are hits you right there he'll start the attack over again not so it's not just damaging you it's genuinely wasting time you can also see him getting up in his face and canceling that last attack trying to line it up directly to where he lands on the blue cylinders once again needs to get up pretty quickly to dodge this attack one more time cancelling it out oh that should still get it though I still worked let's bring a fight good stuff I actually think the second Bowser's the hardest one oh yeah I think third one yeah second Bo's it's the only one that does that spin attack oh yeah we got a bit cutscene coming up Big John if you want to go again yeah yeah we're gonna go hungry thousand million donation of just because you're gonna go and get all the main stars from here it does not care which stars you guys you can get any 14 stars and go to the final Bowser there's they there is a boss in this fifth dome the engine room coming up we're never gonna have to go fight him or at least we elect to not have to go fight him and we said he needs 600 starters for know where he is good that's that's usually the case coming into this down especially the honey climb galaxy which gives you a hundred and fifty for almost nothing so with that we're we're gonna be utilizing all three of these main levels to fill out our last fourteen stars starting with gold leaf and I want to try the the blank Goomba impression was that was that good that was ten bucks right worth it right with at least five okay once again just this galaxy that is that berry I mean not reset heavy but just run killer worthy lots of things you got to go for here very movement heavy to get up to utilizing tricks to get these five star chips this trip I automatically find like pretty awkward cuz the camera doesn't pan up till the last second and again if you spin right next to the wall it'll transfer you out jump down here for the second one real quick okay put the ground right there come on a little scarier and we'll see there's a couple different routes you can take for getting up to this he's electing to go for the third one actually know you could start do that with a backflip on jumping out skipping over having to use anything to flip your way up to that star chip I usually like that almost always that Piranha Plants gonna bite you the other one but his buddy showed up yeah kill them all I don't care yeah man we need to be careful with the boulders my cool trick just aim the camera up you can still point at it and about nothing and nothing so we got nine Starbuzz to work with this bunny sucks did you try to do with Mario Luigi though is faster than the bunnies so he's gonna try to shoot it though oh no oh the bunny of doom oh the backup shot though yeah this one is a bit faster than the first bunnies we caught it's really annoying yeah so with Luigi that's like an annoyance that it gets when you have to chase them down with Mario it is torture pure torture there's some platforms you can race so you can you can force them into a wall and then catch them there torture you skip some splits here die like 2,000 more times and we'd be rich I would demand a cut at that point I want one of those viewers 35,000 last re-did right there it's always like the subtly most like pogchamp star in the road super cool usually you know you were going around you're missing everything nah dude that just sounds like a song okay so many skips here that way too hard yeah I think this is like a good can for just like overall hardest star in any percent any just in the game yeah start off right here wanted to make sure that he gets flicked facing the camera so he's good for him to take off of the wall right here he's gonna skip having to use the cata crack here and just triple jump up to this platform and then debatably the hardest trick right here get in the back up though very nice everyone's got their own setup for doing the triple jump up here here on that yeah we're gonna line up and then go off the camera Sega tries really good there as a moronically stupid trick believe it or not and then here getting up to this star is very tricky with Mario once again but Luigi has a higher single jump so it's no big deal the only time I spin the Nunchuk trying to elongate that as much as possible nice car it is way too easy to lose a lot of time on that star actually even on the last platform if you missed the star right away you just spin and have to fly around next star coming up here is another room we get another boss fight at the end pretty quick one but I got a lot of really cool vertical movement yep this might be my favorite star in the game it's really cool the entire level focuses on using the B power up but not even once yeah never gonna use it here on steadies first gonna make a beeline didn't even think of that for it oh he's going to make a I'm sorry I hate you I make his way up to this tree over here okay that was a thumb I had to confirm which finger that was shooting up in the air oh yeah he's gonna make his way over to this tree the camera really sucks it's automatically gonna flip its way around so yes to do a little bit of blind movement here including this wall kick very nice doesn't that first try that is not easy to do and now immediately going into this movie you know they see they want you use the B power up there screw that angle this bounce off of that into a wall kick getting up there and just like that we're at the top of the tower very quickly I didn't skip the cutscene we're done I don't know what you have to do but you can skip that cutscene and it not only skip the cutscene it skips the trigger for this boss starting so he just sits there and just takes it like a man and as you see the backflip able to trivialize this he wants to get up here pretty quickly though very nice skipping over having away through those bubbles that was really good that whole star very good yeah it's it's very tough doing the movement for the whole level perfectly especially the first tree jump it's so tricky and as tricky as that tree jump was it's about to get a little trickier the camera there you know we get used to that setup because at least it's like kind of straight on angle we know we just have kind of an internal clock and when to spin and not walk on the tree and everything we're doing it again here for the cosmic Luigi race this is definitely I think it's the easiest one to lose he only gets a couple of failures that try and do this get off the tree otherwise he's gonna I think you get like you get like three tries if you if you fail it three times I think luigi wins yeah can't camera for some reason entirely different and invisible than the level we just did even though it's the same map for no reason yeah so you have to have a little bit of a different setup didn't get the boost that's going to make this even harder now it's almost for sure going to be he's only gonna get three tries Oh got away for a very nice yeah the angles the angles are very tricky up like you need to be so careful that you angle yourself towards that well we just wall kicked at the end otherwise they just slide off where you bonk or whatever that doesn't for goalies now moving to the second main stage of this final area we've got toy time maybe casually this is just straight up my favorite stage it's really fun to move through it it's got you know good throwback music and everything just nice big colorful stage grab four stars here starting off with toy time one another one with a lot of really cool really cool skips especially the last one in this level the best part about this star is that anybody who's played this game so if your favorite powerup was anything else your least favorite powerup was spring see ya they want you to use spring suit all over this level once again like the bee suit in the last level we're never gonna use it I almost forgot this existed for unfortunately you can't complete least give it in 120-star but here in any percent we had the launcher even though the entire like second half of it is designed for it gravity and instead of falling back down here he's gonna do a long jump across spinning just enough distance to skip right into that little hole yeah starting here you're supposed to be using the springs to do this I was just cough commentary let you guys enjoy them in the middle a little bit okay while you're wicking your way to that bowels today I wanna just give you a little update on something that's like what are you awesome people decide to shift your money towards another incentive instead which means we have not unlocked that test by Super Monkey Ball physics block so ya find that person so that means you're still about twenty five hundred short now for it so if you still want to see it don't pop the tires that guy who decide to change where you went and put his money towards but you can still make it happen we still got time to see that TAS BOTS destroy so much ball physics you guys should donate for this never bowled first try armpit skip arm this is really difficult cuz the camera is so awkward isn't quite all the way up here yeah it's very hard not bomb stop stealing right there Oh dodging the dodging the dodging the bang and really nice line skip so many parts of it again spring suits those fees that entire level screw that but that's Big John just said right there twenty five hundred dollars needed for that taskbar showcase make sure you get in your donations guys all right we got it I think eight stars to go my goal was to beat my hdq time from 2016 which was a 240 30 oh where we go toy time s yeah he's got to unlock some slide there later anyway so it doesn't actually there's a big time yeah dusty dune is like the only bubble we completely ignore this coat yeah which makes it to where it it can't tighten stuff they're out where we got to get most other stars from every other galaxy but I just be doing one I think is like a four-minute star the first time yeah all of them are actually we're gonna go ahead once again instead of doing the main path right here we're going to do two from a side path effectively first grabbing these secret here so it's gonna be important even though he already has enough star bits for the final hungry Toma outside the level he wanted 50 here and nice to already grab all of those it so it's not old but it's pretty easy to miss a lot of those star bits when flying in and then you're running around trying to fill out the 50 start at quota at that point you can't option just to go do like tour time too yeah not not idea obviously yep cyclones baby a lot of people don't like this one pretty tough and the gravity around these things can be a bit tricky it's funny you're gonna do it here and then you're gonna do it at double speed the next level I don't know about you Kristen I actually find the double speed easier it sucks as long as you have to wait for each of these yeah if you convince me that like I like to make that cycle and then even if not just them flattening you just like their corners can kill you as well if you're just a little bit off no that's pretty good so far though you don't want to hug them when they're moving you can sometimes they just get this boy she even though you're not even under them oh yeah under there pretty solid moving all the way throughout that we've got another one it's really easy to lose time to top players it's cool that you can like jump right before the spikes get to you yeah I think just in the corners that's what I usually do yeah so now we're going to jump right back in there for another fast cyclone comment again I love the fact that there's so many different you know that we got their cosmic Luigi race comet the fast cyclone comets the daredevil comets you know one of the only ones we're never doing here will be oh we actually do tour time to first my bad one of the only ones we don't do is the speedrun comet they're just poll stages and never joke Luigi meets Mario is it the other way around in Mario me roommates Luigi I think they actually changed the name of the star for this one - I think it's just Mario meets Mario oh I got some new strats with this one - cool gravity Kristen bringing those new strats for that one [Applause] another single jump there in order to just get over that little dip I [Music] personally it was like I had three stars left and this was one of them in my first playthrough not this star we're doing right now this one's not too bad it's later on in any percent the best part about Super Mario Galaxy 80% you never have to mess with purple coins though just be levels going through each of these main levels and kill like 100 purple coins some of them are scavenger hunts some of them were this level where there's like a hundred and fifty of them scattered throughout the level and the platforms does usually you touch them they start flipping this they're disappearing it's a real nightmare to get through there and get all those triple coins a candidate for like hardest start casually in this game I'm not really any easier in a speedrun setting okay because I'm preparing for worst case I'm actually gonna do a safe here just in case I don't know my constable Oates or something well that wouldn't help nevermind but if the game crashes or something it actually okay super jinx incoming it and then the game never crashed on you before but sometimes I haven't like twice to me that the loading time increased while like 30 seconds per hour like loading back to store observatory so you'd like just sit there like what the hell is happening to flex pay that's weird hasn't officially loaded was it recently that happened those gay as you see pretty obvious they move a lot faster again a lot of times will kill you here won't be necessarily getting flattened by their flat parts it'll be just like the corners of like their teeth effectively as you're trying to slip in here and hit each of these and ten dollars richer you know what I actually like it more so for these platforms because they just get out of your way a lot faster when they're trying to catch these cycles one more stat here dodging the ball nice and [Applause] we got a camera for the star something you're gonna get used to that everything is upside down and you don't have to hold up to go up sometimes you have to hold down to go up and three more stars in the final galaxy the there five stars here like in most of the galaxies before and getting our one-seven you can see it takes a few seconds each time so it does save a lot of time not having save all the way throughout the run only three stars are gonna be fast enough for us here so just the the coolest looking tech not just on your screen but also on camera make sure to watch introducing a new strat or glitch here that's very fast yeah you might be able to see just a little bit of it here right at the start there is see it on display much more in the TV in the second and third stars what are we doing here not for this one yeah utilize this nice little side in order to get over to the cutscene and to copy well you'll see you emailed in chat now that's called CRISPR in but that this is just effectively a glorified autoscroller before you have through the last handful stars in the run time to kind of calm down if you're on good paste or anything I always love how these have brake for hardest one he's gonna be going for a really cool piece of speed tech called surface swimming here where I don't know pants do you know how this works or anything idea okay it's like when you hit the surface it does the dolphin jump sword know the health refill oh yeah during the health refill you can like stay in that state somehow I don't know yeah you can get above water which has a nice benefit because again we talked about how quickly your air meter runs out as Luigi you're gonna just stay at full the whole time but you also just move faster being on the surface if we're able to activate this blitz a lot of shaking getting the boost to get in front of them that's good starting off he's gonna try to get underwater and then try to just barely get above the surface start okay here we go it's very fast he's got to dodge everything though so and it's pretty hard to control you cannot time these you have to you have to match the shake otherwise you drop it that was really good second try getting my service flim cuz yeah it saves so much time you just want to go for it constantly and if you you're kind of committing to it so if you don't get it after a certain number of tries you're just gonna lose that race yeah [Music] this is the most physically exhausting stage in all of speedrunning once again to get him to do that spin you have to shake the Wiimote even if you're just underwater and it also switches up what you have to do cuz the path you take here on this race you're not just on the surface the entire time so he's gonna try to start off a surface from then go underneath for a while and then start another surface mode again so he's got to hit two surface swims oh and also this is a contest star so if you can if you want to guess the times again for for the penguin race you can we point to you 50 57 57 I forgot no though it's lower than that like 54 Oh 152 97 idea 5150 yeah trying to start off with these service runs been pretty easily to bonk onto things it's hard okay so able to get there he's gonna get a little bit about here then he's gonna have to dive docked underwater just just there's not a flat surface out there for him to work with you gonna try to keep this thing going the whole time again you're seeing we're never using the shell here it's just slower he's in the first stage just because it's an auto spell you had to wait for come up here just in time to get his health back or just go ahead and go through here we're gonna run through this bubble giving us that health back and refilling our air no problem again keep an eye on that webcam we gotta go for you guys right now I wonder what part the TV cuts off or the webcam shuts off right there again trying to stand up for another surface swim you can go for an infinite amount of times oh my god oh my oh my 54 I guess was terrible you're 52 is worse nope I had faith for once how are you feeling chrism okay yeah look at the work this man is doing for charity for you yes yeah I think my PB in this race is 10 seconds faster because you got air fist spins just first try one of my favorite gdq lines of all time we were like Kristin are you okay you were like without we're actually done with the engine room again there are more stars including a boss you could fight there which some people might think it's required to get that grand star nope usually any fortunate stars with that we have only two more stars we got to get first off we're going to feed our second and final hungry luma with these 600 other star bits we have four also one of I think the harder galaxies could do well drip-drop galaxy this one's really tough once again things don't move when they're on camera and you have to somehow figure out a route through this level that makes every lip appear in front of you messing it up is always bad you have to hunt them down and sometimes to get like enough never show up definitely a super rough start ahead this play it's actually some people will like to do a different route where you saw how many star bits we had nice zombie star but we ended up with for just 200 more star bits you could go to a different hungry luma stage which is extremely easy to do there's a very trivial trick you can do to just kind of end that one almost instantly but it is slower than doing this one well we'll see if he's able to catch these three yields here again when the eel is not on camera they are not actually moving so keep that in mind with his routing nice that first one green shells do not home unlike the red shells then try to catch this one in the boy and then the other one is in the ship still this one again greens don't home yeah that was really good [Applause] [Music] remember to talk to male toad if you forget this one it's like what yeah literally the star you're going to do right now the other one it's a couple stars later to actually get the Luigi star so again you might have wondered earlier in the run and was it really worth it to go through that whole autoscroller and battle rock to get that second Luigi star if you don't do that it doesn't unlock the ability to get this one this one's still fast yeah and this one similar to the first one very very quick [Music] we'll be heading our way over here after this we're gonna have a rather lengthy cutscene to also send us into the final level so with that when I sit comfortably the the remote is just like pointing collecting stuff we're going into this again that does fill out our 60 stars we're about to fly off to the final level which is a really cool this is my favorite level just to I remember this was the one you naturally kind of did speedruns of as a kid learning all the little subtle gravity tricks and everything you can do all the place really calls I feels more like the bowels of stages like in Mario 64 oh then we got the cups in here's the Big John take it away man alrighty we have a hundred awesome Kevin G says I I want to donate batteries because my charge you will run through some batteries running this guy we got a dedicated emote in my channel for empty batteries there's not there's no feeling quite like starting a run and then seeing low battery pop up like two stars in say well we're committed now nice again super cool stage wraps about here at the beginning he's gonna be trying to catch this early cycle these lights these flashlights or these spotlights that come down in a way they'll catch you gravity and allow you to walk on the wall his personal is gonna be actually to get on top of those walls that you're seeing right there that we're zooming past in order to then long jump across those he was able to catch the early cycle just very aiming that right there getting underneath easily in time to catch this cycle we're not done yet ooh the bonus yeah it's really good yeah that's the really tough cycle to make yeah there is an invisible wall directly behind ya for me did so that's why he jumped it slightly at an angle it's pretty simple yes I could use the first time this is a pretty easy planet to die on right here trying to give this long jump off to the side sure yeah throwing in that little safety spin getting us to our next checkpoint not starting to move our way through here you're gonna see him kick off the wall to the left or to the right so you're just making sure I wasn't tell me about that I could have still changed it doesn't really matter I know that was for me Oh flame they're also very fast moving through there and then this planet is an absolute nightmare the first time you get here getting those nice boosts off of those platforms because they start to lower but as you go off then they start to raise back up and it gives them momentum going forward trying to catch all of these cycles get around these bullet bills it's gonna go to the left here and then once it's lined up with the camera just get on top of the cannon instead skipping over that whole section that pretty good moving here so far see we even clench it out whoo right into a trim don't offer anything good like I said this is such a fun level to do runs of you actually even still have some platforming right here getting up these steps he's very hard yeah it's actually like a subtly hard just piece of movement you got to do that's there and bow so just chillin smooth nothing is gonna continue after this cutscene right here so he asked to basically keep the same thing going like I said no but was hard number two there's some some way you can long jump without like having to stop a single time but I have to miss half the budget of this game went into Bowser's hair right yeah even his eyebrows oh good they they even they kept it going in Odyssey to like hold like physics for the hair oh he's looking so snazzy and honestly yeah so that we have this incredibly epic boss rather than going to three different phases spinning across three different planets nothing really do to speed up in this little phase right here but you're trying to position yourself to catch him right on that first cycle when he flips his face around you know try to do the same thing here just keep a consistent position where he knows he can spin instantly and get the head even that star bit counter consistent I didn't it it's the magic number man off the second phase we're going to try to hit him with these green things that smack him you can also get a hit with just those as well coming around and there's positions them correctly off of that where he's right next to that one going in final planets yeah dang what a run Oh such epic music gotta let him run this phase out but taking that damage right there which actually cancels the attack saving a lot of time actually he spins around for a while okay and got to read exactly where he's coming from here it's nice to get out of straight pick it up health he's gonna try to do the same thing in this phase right I'm gonna let him spawn one of the flames and I'm gonna try to jump in this one to cancel this attack taking the damage which just cancels out as the top getting in position to get negative go down the last blue cylinder and one more time he's got to follow him around use a bit of a jerk right there but Kristen was able to read it from the other side final hit nice time times on the final star grab Wow what a run 236 that is beating my time from last year two years ago by four minutes that's what your time was yeah that's a really good run yeah with a lot of new cool strats one of the best runs I've ever done what's your PB in this like 18 to 34 4 yeah that's really really strong [Music] still be a 236 yeah whatever you're trying to get a PB you're always like come on this one extra little twirl just takes the off [Music] [Applause] yeah good thing run man good thing people voted for Mario Luigi because this would go hard with a 336 ability bari amariah would have been like a good run of Mara for me would have been like a 245 yeah Mario just naturally because of the five minutes he has a lot of time and just subtle movement all over the place that he can't do really fun run thank you once again spike the
