to have you sharing with us today in the virtual sanctuary this is the day that the lord has made we have come online to rejoice and be glad in it so i want you right now as you're coming into worship to go right into the chat room let us know where you're watching from let us know how your week was i want to check in with you see how you guys are enjoying worship today this is going to be a powerful day of worship god's going to do some amazing things in worship today and i know that it's going to be a blessing to you so here at new psalmist you know how we do we practice click worship today it's exciting things happening here at new psalmist and also we are doing some great things today we're going to hit you're going to hear more about it in worship but we're kicking off registration for all of our groups opportunity to join and grow here in the bible learn about what god is doing in your life at new psalmist this fall season so make sure you pay attention through worship as we share information but yesterday was a special day an important day in our nation it was the 20th anniversary of the attacks on 9 11 2001. we all watched in in horror and so much sad sadness as we saw terrorists attack our nation and we knew that that was a moment where we needed god like never before so before we begin our worship today we want to go back to 10 years ago and share in a special moment we had here new psalmist that is so fitting on this 20th anniversary of 9 11 as we look back and ask god to bless us and keep us as a nation good morning new psalmist this is the day that the lord has made can the people of god stand on your feet can we give the lord a standing ovation because he deserves it he is a great god a great king come on who wouldn't serve a god like that that makes waves that opens doors that point seas that heals the sick that can raise the dead we serve a mighty good god where this new psalmist online a new psalmist in the building we're coming to this house to praise the name of the lord amen as we stand for praise and worship and singing the lord's song song says we're in your house to praise your name it's a simple song so we're anybody this week [Music] has god made a way for anybody this week has god opened a door for anybody this week now i know it's early i know we on a sunday morning we're behind last we're social distant and we're not close like we normally are in worship but i think for just a moment i need somebody in here to just give god some praise that he has kept you that he's been keeping you that you're in your right mind that you're still standing that no weapon that has been formed against you has been able to prosper that every lying tongue that has risen up against you has been condemned that every sickness has been healed that every rough place has been made straight that every mountain has been brought down that every valley has been exalted the bible says we ought to enter his gate with thanksgiving and enter his courts with free and be faithful unto him and bless his holy name for the lord our god is good and worthy and worthy and worthy and worthy and worthy of all outbreeds oh as the lights are lowered all over the room as we remain standing for just one moment we want to open our service today in a word of prayer we know that god hears and answers our prayers and each of us come in to worship today with many things on our heart some of us have challenges that we're facing some have obstacles that have been placed in our path that we've come today asking for god to show us a way forward and god has given us the assurance that if we bring our request to him he will hear our prayer [Music] so as we bow all over the room i want you to bring to the forefront of your mind the very things that you are asking for god to do yes lord yes lord and begin praying even in your spirit lead me god that god would give you what you need today our father in our god we stand before you on this holy sunday morning first to say thank you we thank you god that you have been so faithful to us that you have allowed us to gather into this place you've allowed us to open up the stream on our phones on our tablets on our tvs to be gathered all over the world in a moment of worship and i asked now oh god that you would meet us where we are i ask that you would meet the person who's sharing in their kitchen table meet the one who's sitting on their living room sofa speak to that person who's in their car on their way to work bless my brother my sister who's standing in this sanctuary today for lord we know that you can and you will lead us and guide us and we ask for your direction we ask even now oh god that you would bless the man of god who bring the word today that you might give him a fresh rhema word that speaks to us that meets us where we are and that provides direction for our lives for lord we love you and we praise you in jesus name amen guide me with me along the way me is jesus i need you to guide me [Music] lord jesus foreign i cannot stress [Music] with me anybody need to be guarded by his footsteps along the way [Applause] [Music] thank you jesus truly good to be in worship today god is truly blessing each and every one of us and this is an exciting season here at new psalmist today we launch off and begin all of our registration for our fall group experience here at new psalmist is anybody excited about growing this fall at new psalmist we have over 60 classes that will be meeting over the next couple of months as persons are growing here at new psalmist so i need you to do me a favor for those of you who are sharing with us online and those of you who are in our sanctuary today want you to open up on your phone go right to new online and i want you throughout the worship service today and even later today to go through the listing of classes that are available our connection groups our bible studies our discipleship classes are all available for registration we have so many different groups that are registering we have some groups filed young adult males entitled overcoming life's challenges we have groups for young adult females entitled finding your way back to god when everything else is pulling your way oh wow that's that's a serious class right there we have groups for freedom life help hope hope and healing we have a youth entrepreneur training for all of our youth we want to train them up so that they don't have to have a boss but they can be their own boss amen somebody we have classes for our youth our young ladies girls to women our empowerment group we have classes for adults some entitled finding faith in dark places classes follow men nine attributes of a man men conversation our man cave on friday nights is going to be back there are so many different opportunities to grow here at new psalmist we are a church where connections are made we connect to god we connect to the world and we connect to each other and it's through our groups our discipleship classes our bible studies that we connect to one another and connect to god so i encourage you throughout the day to make sure you sign up for a class many of our classes do have some limited number of spaces available as some of the smaller groups we like to keep those intimate so make sure if you see a group today you register sign up for today don't delay because by next sunday that group may be full and so you want to get in there as soon as possible and all of our groups this year this fall will be meeting exclusively online and so you can join in you don't even have to be a member of new psalmist you don't even have to live in baltimore to be a part of these groups but wherever you are in the world as long as you can access zoom and get online you can sign up to grow here at new summit so looking forward to seeing all of those who sign up and register for groups here at new psalmist today and also church as we shared last sunday in two weeks we get the opportunity and the privilege to salute the world's best pastor bishop walter scott thomas senior for 46 years of pastoral ministry come on let's just thank god for our pastor here new psalmist and not only do we get the chance on that day to celebrate the world's best pastor but we also get to celebrate the world's best first lady and lady patricia thomas come on let's salute her even today she's sharing in our online congregation i need you to let her know how much you love her here new psalmist so last sunday of this month the 26th of september we're going to salute bishop and first lady all day long and we all have an opportunity to be a part of worship on that day so what i want you to do if you have a picture of you and bishop the collages that we'll be creating for bishop and first lady on anniversary sunday and throughout the anniversary season and we also want you to record a video if you have a special moment a special memory of a time where bishop spoke to you whether it was calling you in the death of a loved one or officiating a wedding service for you or moment that he shared that really was impactful to you we that you are a real piece of work i've been thinking about that all week long because i know i'm a piece of work do i have anybody in the balcony that's a piece of work do i have anybody on the floor who's ever looked at yourself and said i'm a piece of work and yet god just look just just say to yourself and yet god and yet god how many of you know you might be in a tough place if it had not been for god if you know you are a piece of work then you know that you could have gotten yourself so messed up by now that there'd almost be no recognition of you but god didn't let that happen but when he saved my soul cleansed and made me [Music] it took a miracle of love and grace i need you for a moment to think about the old you come on think about it for a moment where you went what you did who you were my father is omnipotent think about the old you stuff you used to get yourself into how many of you got in some real messes along the way [Music] but god brought you back come on give him praise for you bringing you back it took a miracle to put the stars in place it took a miracle to hang the world in space but when he saved [Music] my soul cleansed and made me home [Music] it took a miracle of love and grace how many of you know you're not all you should be can i see the hands of poker no you got a long way to go in fact if you can just look at somebody don't say no just look they'll know what you're saying but ain't you glad god got you at least on the right highway it took a miracle to hang the world in space every now and then i just drive my car and say but when he saved [Music] my soul when he cleansed and he made me home it took a miracle to get that bottle out of my hand it took a miracle to get that weed from between my fingers it took a miracle to get that lifestyle out of me of love and grace i don't know about anybody else but i will forever thank him for that i need somebody who knows you got you will forever praise god and you can tell everybody he's the everlasting god oh i just feel something well enough in my spirit it took a miracle it took them how many of you have some friends who knew you then who look at you now and say but when he saved your soul when he cleansed and made you [Music] they just look at you and say it took a miracle [Music] of love and the grace i've been singing that to myself all week long i should have been dead i'm looking around here to people who should have been dead with me anybody here been in some situations you it's a miracle you got out alive [Music] god just took care of you he saved you [Music] santa what did he do he cleansed and made me [Music] it took a miracle [Music] i was thinking about that this week and how many of you have had god give you strength this week [Music] how many of you had to wait on god this week [Music] listen somebody asked me to say well what's it like now that y'all are open what's it like i said it's good they said well are people coming i said let me tell you for 16 months i preached to nobody absolutely nobody in the room i said they said well is the church packed i said is packed with amens and running over with praise the lords [Music] and let me tell you if nobody's told you today and to all of those sharing i am so excited to see each and every one of you and if you are so excited to be in the house of the lord then give god praise for it and strength will rise when you wait upon the lord we waited patiently for god to open the doors of this church and god has opened the doors of this church i need to know are there any is there anybody here who got up this morning would touch on your mind and you are deter i mean come on come on did you get up with church on your mind i don't care what's happening oh man that's it put those as we normally would during this season we'd be meeting up here all week long so on sunday for me it's like when i was going to school my mama would feed us breakfast in the morning get us dressed up oh i'ma take you back because i see some folk a little bit my age get out of bed mama called you get you up when you got up you had to make your bed do i have anybody who remembers you had to make your bed mama did not come in the room and make your bed nor did you go to bed on an unmade bed you made your bed come downstairs you have your breakfast you might have cream of wheat might have some oatmeal might have some grits [Music] some scrapple oh god somebody say scrapple if you were in baltimore you had king syrup you from somewhere else you had log cabin [Music] after mama fed you when you got ready to go out the door she make sure your face was she put that last bit of vaseline [Music] rub it all in can i see the hands of vaseline faces long before you had pawns you had vaseline and then as you went out that door you got that spoonful liver oil some of y'all little older than me got castor oil some got castoria but mama wanted to make sure you had everything then she put that little coat all up around you make sure you went out warm so on sunday i know that you won't be up here monday and you won't be here tuesday wednesday and thursday so i try to make sure on sunday you it they think you just watching and then send them the link so that they can go from watching to worshipping because we are intentionally leading as many people as we can into a dynamic engaging and loving relationship with jesus christ amen anthony when we met in my office some years ago with the executive team and we were working on this statement and i said to the team i said god gave me this vision that we would be intentionally leading people to jesus christ or that we would be leading people to jesus christ and i had the statement we'll be leading people into a dynamic engaging and loving relationship with jesus christ and anthony said to me said pastor i think we're missing one word i said what that anthony he said intentional and we added that phrase to it because i had asked god i said god you're showing me this now i don't see how we how i don't see how we're going to get to be doing that in the future but i didn't see a pandemic when people would be calling you and calling me and talking to you and talking to me about what they're going through and we would have all these to tell somebody it is no secret what god can do how many of you have told at least one person over these last 18 months the lord will make a way somehow [Music] listen won't you help me and those of you who are in our virtual campuses wherever you are home at work mattress by the springs wherever you are if you're in this room let's greet one another with a praise to the lord a hand clapper praise let's greet each other we greet you my brothers and sisters we greet you we praise god together and today listen today i need you to give a special shout out to one of our members sister gertrude tanner who today is a hundred and ten years old won't you give sister gertrude tanner a major round of applause she's not in worship with us today but she's worshiping online with a hundred and ten years old praise the name of our god what a wonderful god we have 110 years old and incidentally incidentally today is the day we salute we have two national salutes yesterday was a memorial to so many fallen individuals who lost their lives after a terrorist attack on our nation 9 11 was a day as franklin roosevelt said that will live in infamy all of us like the day john kennedy died the day martin king died remember where we were on that day but it reminds us that no matter how great our nation is or this world has become we still have a long way to go for a moment we just pause one of our members was in the world trade center on that morning one of our members was in the world trades and on that morning had a meeting to attend i wish he was here that he could share his testimony i'll have him share it at another time but he got out of the building just before it collapsed [Music] and walked for miles in a circle just wondering how it could be that he was still alive so many things about tomorrow i don't seem to understand but i know who holds tomorrow and i know who holds my hand [Music] anybody here witness [Music] god's got you here for a reason come on i just need somebody who knows just before i give the last shout out i just need everybody to pause for a second as that as that melody plays i don't know it is not by chance that you are where you are god didn't have you born in 1919 god did not have you grown in 1930 god did not have you grown in 1865 or 1899. god didn't have you coming on the boat with kunti kente god had you born right when he had you born so you could be right where you are so you could affect the changes that he once made so no matter what comes or may i know what jesus says [Music] he walking beside me today and i know he holds my hand if i have a witness for anybody here who knows god's holding your hand just just wave it in the air [Music] to understand [Music] but i know [Music] future [Music] [Applause] many things about tomorrow i don't i [Music] but i [Music] the future [Music] and for that reason i want to give this last shout out i need all grandparents everywhere to just stand on your feet at home if you're in the bed get up stand on the side of the bed if you're in this room stand up all the grandparents come on today is grandparents day [Music] god has kept us for a reason i need to know are there any grandparents here who know you here for a reason come on praise god for the reason you were here [Music] it's a wonderful thing to be a grandparent my wife and i had opportunity this week to spend with all of our grandchildren at different points in the week and it's something to be around your grandchildren do i have a witness [Music] but you know what's equally as rewarding [Music] to see your children grow up to become parents and you marvel at who they have become why don't you take a moment grandparents and just absorb what god has done for you just take a moment and absorb the gift that he's given you at this stage in your life some of you have little children babies that are your grands some of you have toddlers that are your grands some of you have children that are your grands some of you have youth [Music] young adults and some of you have grands that are grown look how blessed you are [Music] [Music] for a moment those who are sharing and worship in all over wherever pausing for a moment to say thank you lord for what you've done father we thank you today for this gift you've given us that keeps on giving in jesus name amen we're getting ready now to give our gifts of love our offerings of faith won't you prepare your offerings we're getting ready to give as reverend joshua mentioned this week we kick off all of our studies all of our classes bible study taught by the pastor will not be well this next thursday we start our thursday night bible study with the pastor not this thursday the following thursday we start our class back up tuesday night is our prayer call bring your family your friends tell others to get on with us at seven o'clock there's a new prayer number so be mindful to look for it on the flyer as it comes out [Music] but we have oh my god 60 70 different groups that are meeting [Music] i don't measure how effective a church we are by how many people are in the room on sunday i measure how effective a church we are by how many connections we are making so i'm encouraging everyone to connect in a group connect in a group if you have questions about groups just stop over at the welcome desk we'll make sure that they get answered but we want everybody signed up to be with others during this season to grow together our connectors are leading in these areas we've been having a class on finances and debt or connection for years and our members have been buying homes as a result of those connections we're doing some new ones this year there are some persons who are going through grief we have grief connections that you can hook up with other persons if you're going through grief learning about faith and understanding how to have hope in this tough season we have connections where you'll connect with others on that so be sure to sign up this week i'll be checking those stats to make sure we're signing up with great numbers men women couples individuals boys girls everybody we want you signed up well it's time to give new psalmist it's time to give amen let me just share as you prepare your offerings yesterday and i just want reverend bailey and sister freda and if any of our young adult members from the team are in the room if they would stand who were out yesterday and those out yesterday we have moved our food ministry from initially helping people get food with cars coming by mike we progressed from there to going to senior senior residences not just senior buildings but where seniors live with their families and we do 10 senior buildings is that right [Music] 13 oh we're up to 13 now we do 30 every two weeks we're going to different places and we do 13 senior high rises amen from that we pushed our capacity and we said we wanted to help other churches that were doing things in their area but didn't have sufficient capacity to do what they needed to do and al how many churches are we up to now show me with your fingers all right we're at six churches now that we are send doing increasing their capacity to help other people but vernon you'll love this now we've decided to be a part of the supply chain yesterday our team was out at the farm where the produce is gathered they were out at the farm yesterday and they were fixing the boxes of kale and peppers and other things that will be shipped all over the state and given away free so we're working now back now this is the real labor intensive where you down picking kale and pulling cabbage and picking corn no is it picking corn shucking corn sucking corn i thought shucking was when you took the stuff off it okay well getting corn you know and putting it in the boxes and loading the box this hard work this ben gay there's been gay and tylenol but now they've added that to their mission work and if any of you are interested in being a part of this effort to help with food insecurity please give us a call let us know and we'll set you up with the prisons involved in that we're getting ready to give now won't you prepare your gifts the ushers will be coming in between the rows for those but he also gave me a word and right now i gotta give you the word i'll save the simon god told me to tell you this is your season of recognition not of somebody recognizing you but if you recognize that the good hand of the lord is all over you the good hand of the lord is taking care of you and whatever you are going through see god moving in the heavens see god movement in the atmosphere be glad with him in your life where somebody in the spirit and say it i see it i receive it i've got help in hot places i've got help in the high places is [Music] wait a minute [Music] it's not just a time of recognition but i need you to look to declare this is my season of redemption everything that was messed up got it [Music] fixing it up everything that i cried about he's fixing everything i was worried about he's fixing everything that was falling apart he's fixing god y'all ain't got his y'all must not have no trouble but i need some folk in here who got some stuff you ain't even talking about god told me to tell you today is the day it gets fixed god i'm about to shout on that myself today is the day he's gonna fix it why because he's gonna lift that bird [Music] and if god be for you in the balcony if god before you your win will get paid your mortgage will get paid your children will eat there'll be food on that table your body will stay together your mind will stay together he'll make a way out of no way no weapon god let me declare the weapon formed against you is going to prosper god is going to bring you through this amen i need somebody [Music] who is living through this crazy reality trying to figure out what to do next oh god thank you the lord told me to tell you i said it on the first day we came in be still and no i'm going i am god why uh oh just get and tell the person beside you give me a little bit of wrong tell them move over something cause i may slap you tell me to slide over a little bit why why be still because this week i am giving you strategies this week i am giving you strategies god y'all ain't got it no i'm not gonna fix every problem you got i'm gonna give you strategies to fix them why because when you fix them somebody's gonna ask you how did you do it and when they ask you how you did it you won't say nobody but jesus nobody but jesus nobody but jesus i need you to declare i'ma be still [Music] i'm not worrying myself crazy the rest of the sunday i'm not gonna go crazy tomorrow i'm trusting god i'm recognizing that the lord is on my side that god has taken care of him if god wanted me dead i'd have been there y'all missed that if god wanted me sick and falling apart i'd be sick and follow her but god is somehow making a way out of nowhere that means god has something for me to do the reason i'm upset is because i can't see what to do in the situation i'm in well what i need to do is be still and if i'm still god's gonna talk to me how many of you know he'll talk in your sleep he'll talk while you're in the car he'll talk while you're walking on the street all of a sudden the idea will jump in your head god i feel a shout getting ready to break out he'll give you ideas you never would have thought yourself thinking he'll have you doing stuff that six months ago you would not have even considered somebody ought to praise god right now for the strategies he's gonna give you now put a smile on your face under that mask put a smile on your face and tell somebody i'm ready for what god's gonna do this week i'm ready for what god's gonna do this week i'm ready for him to move mountains i'm ready for him to lift up from balance i'm ready for him to defeat my enemies but one thing for sure uh-oh uh-oh i'm done after this i i guess i'm not gonna get where i want it but i'm done i need you to say but no matter what happens i'm not gonna lose my joy [Music] devil you're a liar i'm not gonna lose my joy cause i've been through too too much to stop my praise right now i need somebody who's determined to praise god all week long why don't you give him a free praise right where you are why don't you give him a free shout right where you are why don't you throw back your hand and say lord i'm keeping this smile on my face lord i'm keeping the praise on my lips lord i'm gonna give you glory honor and praise cause if it had not been for the on my side this was my text this was my text i am old this is my text psalm 37 i was young and i am now old but i have never seen the righteous forsaken nor their seed that's all i need this morning that's all i need do grandparent family mother i was old i was young but i am now oh some of y'all got children to go home and witness to co-workers to go home and witness to you how many of y'all are older than five minutes old way that and you need to go tell somebody i have i need you to tell that broken-hearted person that calls you i have i need you to call it to tell that son or daughter that co-worker who's what i have never seen the righteous forsaken on their seed begging for brand we i'm done on this but i close with this word to you god is gonna protect you and everybody connected to you so give him young i've got so much to think of i was young but i'm now older and i have never seen the righteous [Music] i was thirty [Music] yes [Music] [Music] the year is 1981. i've got so much to thank god for the year is 1981. i'm 31 years old pastor of new psalmist baptist church we've just had our second child the doctor says you have something in your back we've got to take it out i'm 31 years old two little children and a wife they do surgery and there's a hole in my back at the base of my spine the size of a base a softball [Music] the doctor tells my wife he can go home but this is a lot to take care of she says oh i can do it and he pulls back the bandages and i hear her go oh i was young i'm going home with a hole in my back the size of a softball the year was 1989 i go in for my physical i have three children one has just been born two are below ten we've moved downtown now and the ministry is starting to explode the doctor calls and says there's a mass in your lungs we have to take it out if it's cancellous you'll have to lose all of that part of your lungs i'm just 39. haven't turned 39 yet i have three children and a wife the year is 1999. i'm having tremendous trouble trying to talk [Music] my voice won't stay i'm invited by the full gospel fellowship to preach for them the evening of their convention i take the family we fly in a day early and i don't talk for 24 hours so that i'll be able to talk that night i preach the sermon and can't talk after that dr marilyn blackston sets me up with a ortho oncologist at university hospital he says if they ain't paying you don't open your mouth the visits cost eighteen hundred dollars thank god for good insurance [Music] and i wouldn't dare miss an appointment finally he says you have a tumor on one vocal cord you have a verdict nodule on the other there's nothing that can help but surgery my children my daughter is in college my son is getting ready to graduate and go to college i may never be able to speak again my youngest son is in moving on to a new school where will how will i handle all of this take care of all the obligations that these things require and i can't talk at all the year is 2008. we've just decided to build this church we're going forward with a 50 million dollar project 50 million dollars and the doctor says something's growing in your throat it will not get better we have to go take it out but doctor we're starting a project the day you tell me this that week we've just begun our efforts and we're supposed to be starting to raise money you'll have to have surgery you're gonna have to have surgery we gotta cut that thing out your throat we believe your voice will be all right and we hope it will be but we got to have the surgery done i'm 71 now and i have never see the righteous forsaken i need you to joyce i need you to i hadn't heard her sing that song in so long that my poor little sermon had to say hold it for another week because i've got soul the door of his church is open [Music] so much [Music] so many wonderful blessings and so many open doors [Music] mercy [Music] what do you say joyce [Music] the door of god's church is open waking me up this [Applause] [Music] for every trial you see [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] me [Music] [Music] is [Music] oh [Music] uh [Music] [Music] oh foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] my brothers and sisters as we stand all over this room this is a two-part sermon this week you got the context next week you'll get the content my god thank you joyce [Music] today recognize recognize the good hand of the lord is on your life [Music] if when you're riding home a tear jumps down your face let it go if you can see it look at it check it out while it goes when you get home if you start thinking about today [Music] think about the fact you've got so much to thank him for [Music] so many things i didn't see possible a little kid from cherry hill born in 1950 four years before brown versus the board of education of topeka kansas in the second floor of his mom and daddy's 700 square foot house and his first bassinet is a dresser drawer i live by hope [Music] i never saw any of this coming can i see the hands of folk who are living a life you didn't see coming don't put them down too quick savor in a moment when i was studying um positive psychology one of the things they said we need to do is learn how to savor savor means enjoy like that last piece of steak on the plate that last bite of the slice of chocolate cake that last spoon full of ice cream safe in a moment you are where you never expected to be and this morning church was about the reason i'm here is because of god [Music] the meaning in worship today is because of god if you don't have god in your life and you want the church because i too have so much i met with the executive but somebody said pastor you talking a lot today what i got a lot to say you know you talk a lot you got a lot to say i met with the executive team and our staff march of last year the week leading up to my anniversary my anniversary is gonna be celebrated in two weeks but it was the week of my anniversary and i met with them and said what do you all think we ought to do they said pastor we think we ought to close it's not safe you remember clara you remember you remember anthony you remember calling fred well now y'all remember joshua and we shut down i can't tell you the emotions that ran through me i knew of no world where a church closes indefinitely because i knew it wasn't going to be two weeks emily you know what's gonna be two weeks clearing my you know one gonna be two weeks we could tell that tale we're gonna be shut down two weeks but anybody know that believe that i walk every morning four to five miles i just stood one day saying god what world am i in i called angie and angie and i talked about the struggles people were having and what folk were going through children home from school people were losing that you remember angie people were losing and i realized i can't fall apart i don't have the luxury of falling apart i want to put my head in the sand and wake up like rip van winkle and all this had passed by i didn't have that privilege the next week i get a call when my members her husband is now in covet in intensive care on a respirator i've never heard of this i get another call somebody's relative has died somebody else is sick i can't fall apart i called joshua say how we gonna do this because now i'm in uncharted territory i'm an immigrant in this land of this part of technology i'm not a native but we had hired a bunch of millennials now they may have made us mad in a million ways but y'all we were calling them on the phone they were putting humpty dumpty back together joshua came out to my house with a look like a truck told my wife she was losing her living room we had a studio put in they were doing everything i had never seen zoom i couldn't fall apart how are we going to do church i don't know all my pastors in kcp like deer in the headlights my ministerial friends lost in the sauce i'm 70 years old i miss my birthday i had a party planned see y'all don't understand y'all don't understand but i was i was determining whether it was gonna be white black or blue i was going to do it all on my 70th birthday gone had it all planned out i mean i had sat there at dinner and heard the plans and gone i'm depressed because of that we can't gather i don't know what to do ain't never been here before when one of my dear friends a businessman told me how hard it was for him i said oh got to do something we got to do something and god start pouring in ideas and pouring in this and pouring in that i need you to understand he'll give you strategies now i'm closing i'm closing this all you got to do is say this and get this it's going to be humbling for some of us all you got to do is say this god i don't know what to do [Music] all you gotta say is god i don't know what to do i don't know what to do and god will start giving you strategies he'll give you a whole new purpose he'll give you new assignments you'll be busier in a world you don't understand than you were in the world you were trying to get back we're going home now i've got so much can you bow your heads or play that out [Music] and let god's spirit [Music] those of you who are worshipping at home i hope you're crying [Music] go ahead [Music] we're going home now just with that filling out spirits lord i thank you for what our eyes have seen our ears have heard and our hearts have failed jesus thank you this wasn't what i thought church was going to be like this morning and i don't know where you're leading us and taking us i don't know what tomorrows will bring for any of us but i so thank you for today may this moment bring meaning to everybody here may it give us a sense of who you are when we say thank you [Music] find you [Music] been good to us and in worship today we got to another chance to just rest in his presence to fellowship to worship him to just say thank you for all that he's done in our lives now i need to do me a
