renovation project just to wish the baddest leaders this side of heaven a happy 31st anniversary can you believe it it's been 31 years we remember when we first got to the mountain you put us on an airplane with about 13 other couples took us to crenshaw worship center and you exposed us to church in a way that we have never seen before and our lives have not been the same since listen bishop we would not be where we are had it not been for what you and eldar val have sown into our lives and we would not be any else and we just thank god for you and we wanted to stop and wish you a very happy 31st anniversary go ahead baby so have a great fantastic and fabulous weekend happy anniversary bishop and elder god bless you look this is pastor antoine senior pastor the river of life and this is my beautiful wife lady ace look we want to say happy anniversary man oh we love you all so much we pray that you're having the most amazing year and day celebrate you we celebrate you yes we celebrate under your leadership and we just love you and congratulations again congratulations sir congratulations elder love you all love you both see you soon greetings bishop and elder valerie brown blessings to you bishop brown ella valerie lorita and i we are eternally grateful for the work and the labor of love that you have displayed towards us uh through your awesome leadership you have from ministry just being examples being that word of encouragement being the um the models that we need the advisors and counselors that we need throughout so many seasons of our lives we just celebrate you today and want you to know how much we love and appreciate all that you are all that you've been to us all that you've been to the kingdom yes matter of fact i even hear a song now song by cool in the game celebration time oh not only that but i hear another song do you know what today is it's your anniversary but look we wanted to celebrate you guys you guys are some amazing i mean amazing leaders i mean you have impacted not only the kingdom but you have impacted those who are close to you those who are afraid and what great way to celebrate you guys with just really letting you know how much we appreciate all that you are and all that you do i'm hoping that through this video that you would really really feel our heartfelt sincerity how we feel about you guys again y'all it is time to celebrate and we look forward to see what god is going to do with you guys in the coming days i'm telling you i'm excited don't be big because we have amazing leaders we do we uh i'm telling you but look we wanted to say happy anniversary we love you all to life uh again it's time to celebrate happy anniversary guys bishop and elder and first family what's up hey all the way from exhibit character y'all have just been go role models and i'm not just talking about uh you and elder but i'm talking about the entire family which includes uh dr kimberly and pastor l j i like that i like that goat role models that's right y'all have been phenomenal role models and you are truly the go and we just want to wish you a very special happy 31st pastoral anniversary we love you from the allowed you all to do a lot of tremendous things over the past 31 years man and look we as a family just had to come back and wish you all a happy pastoral anniversary man 31 years is a long time i'm just um honored that god allowed me to just kind of journey with you all a little teeny bit over the last 31 years man listen you all deserve everything that god is doing um in you all's life um again the things that god has allowed you all to accomplish um here at your mouth over the last 31 years is just um nothing short of amazing and so i'm excited that we get to celebrate with you all today um 31 years absolutely happy anniversary we love you guys and um we look forward to being a part of all that god is going to do and um thank you for how you have just let our family both um in front of people but behind closed doors that means more than you'll ever know and that you really are who you say you are and so that speaks volumes especially in this generation we are dealing with so much so happy anniversary thank you for the example that you set continue to shine in a dark place we love you we look forward to continuing to ride this journey out and um to see where god's gonna take you any other church outside of the mountain and i am so grateful i'm so thankful that you all believed in the gift that god has given me and you are constantly poor you all have welcomed me into your family so i am proud to be a mount global member of you all thank you all so much i put out a song um about a month ago and it's called till i get there and i don't know about you but that song literally tells my testimony no matter what i'm feeling deep inside or no matter what i face along this ride you're gonna have to figure out that if you believe god then he's gonna make it happen for you and so i want this song to minister to you all it's an upbeat song so you know i'ma have all y'all got to get up on your feet cause this is a definitely a b song and so it's really hard to see everybody with this smoke but i believe y'all gonna be up and rockin with me so i'm ready when you guys are i pray this song bless you call till i get there one step at a time is what i tell myself don't worry about anything cause my time is coming too many times distracted try to come my way to get me off my game cause i'm staying focused is what i face a smile alone my face [Music] sometimes i feel like i'm left behind but that's when i remind myself that i'll get there right on time and wherever i'm supposed to be i know it's gonna happen for me i'm holding on to my faith i wanna see you obviously we got a great concert going on but what are you excited about for this entire weekend and what does this weekend even mean to you well first of all i was happy that i could take a shower for good reason i got out the house i took a shower i'm clean i got some nice what kind of clone do i have i've got cologne on because i knew that i was going to have a good time one celebrating in the lord two celebrating with the best bishop on the face of this earth and of course his lovely bride elder valerie 31 years that's something to talk about yes sir yes sir no doubt about it all right follow me real quick let's see i don't want to fall let me take my touch yourself but listen i is robert from ghana in town he's not uh he's not okay don't come for me they look like uh papa was a rolling stone look at that hat y'all i can't hear i can't help it wherever he laid his hat what well uh it's the anniversary listen all right i got real quick i got you know two of my other faves in the house mount virginia beach in the building past the tn lady tasha you all have so much going on within your ministry which is absolutely amazing so just take a few minutes just to kind of reflect like what is it to be here this weekend to celebrate 31 years past the t listen when you understand what it takes to do ministry and all that goes into ministry and you look at a person who has done what they have done for 31 years that is amazing and so we are just so grateful um to be a part of what god is doing in this season and it means so much to us because our lives have totally changed and have been so amazing since we have connected to bishop and el davao i concur and um tonight for me is just exciting um and i want to say some freedom because we've been kind of like closed in for so long so tonight is a excellent night and i am so so excited um to be here and celebrate with bishop and elder for 31 years awesome awesome awesome all right let me see who else we got listen uh some of these folks you know you don't want the teacher to call on you so you don't even make eye contact it's real tonight all right let's let's check out the peninsula pastor alvin and lady tracy in the house in the house all right same question we're just reflecting on the weekend what is it to be here what do you think about 31 years of ministry i mean great accomplishment uh a great man of god i mean bishop is he said he wanted to be the pastor of 757 and what he the major impact he's made in this area has been beyond that you know just not just the pastor of well what that means is so much more i could go on it on but it's a celebration tonight it's a great time we're here to have a great time with bishop 31 years and i'm excited to be here caught me off guard but i'm good to be here it's lights it's the lights is big screens i'm taking it all in so uh y'all excuse me i'm having a great time i got nervous he was talking about going on and on it's like we're gonna have to cut this short all right but one another lady tracy what you got i mean it's simply an honor all of us that are here and that is a part of this fellowship where every year you join to see the growth that oh my gosh i'm getting emotional i remember coming into this building and what god has done from 2009 up until this point is just simply phenomenal so we ought to celebrate god for leadership for growth amazing vision bishop and elder has taught us to dream big if god has um i feel a preacher but i'm not going to pray i hear your voice changing reverend i hear your voice changing god has put some you got two minutes okay two funeral minutes yes sir if god has put something in your spirit bishop and elder has taught us if he placed it there he shouldn't let me see it because i see it then i can believe it and then it will spring forth so i give the lord praise tonight for visionaries that taught me how to dream amen come on glory to god where is the offering somebody find the offering it no walter brown and elder valerie brown i have with me she just came off stage the one and only could terry rufford what's up now tell us about that song you just did your new song tell us about it um well that song really i said before it really speaks to my testimony because sometimes you can go through things in life and you can question god like okay well you know when is it going to happen for me or why is it taking so long to happen um but i believe that song ministers to people who are currently waiting um that just hold on because eventually you're gonna get to that place where god has you and so that's why i entitled it till i get there because there are people literally waiting for god to release some things in their life so just hold on guys come on god is gonna do it so just hold on to you get there now some people may not know about your experience your tv experience tell us about that and the show you were on yes so um it's almost three years ago i was on the four it was with pd dj khaled and meghan trainor i was the first gospel artist to actually do that show and that experience was so it was life changing because i felt like when i got the opportunity i sat on it and they were just saying how you know uh you know you got to kind of let us know if you're going to go or not and i was like god you know i when i go i just want to do gospel okay i don't want to be pressured into doing something that i really don't feel like doing and so um long story short i had submitted a video to them of me uh singing and they were like listen we want her now so they really like asked for me to get on a plane like that same week and i was in la and um i did the audition and i did a song by tasha cobbs okay um and it blew them away they have never heard that song before and that's how i got the opportunity and they're like you made that song feel like something i was missing like i couldn't believe you did that to us now they hear all types of music yeah but to have them captivated and it just was a blessing so that's that's how i got on um it is now it's been about three years now and uh that opportunity catapult me yeah yeah to another level and i'm here today well congratulations to you on that and now you transition in this area and you're here uh with us at the mount ministering from time to time how has that experience been for you oh it's been amazing it's been amazing um i i just want to say that i really do appreciate you all's consistency in love shown you all have you know since i've people don't really know that i was coming to the mount and i was just sitting in the in the audience and i would just tell my mom like mom like their music ministry is cold like i love vanessa girl like he's so good and i was like captured by it and i sat on it for a while and i was like god if i'm supposed to be here allow the opportunity to come and about a year or a year and a half um we ended up connecting yeah and that's how i came you know i became a part of the mount and i was just like okay like this is dope so i'm happy to be a part well we're happy that you're part anything you want to say to bishop and elders we're celebrating 31 years and they're watching well i love you guys again like i said earlier happy 31st anniversary to you all you're so beautiful i love your family i pray god expands you all and give you everything came up here and tried to tear everything up we got to try to shift it a little bit just a little tiny bit just a little bit just a little y'all don't do that don't do that back there glory to god if my bishop was up here he would tell a story about a lady who used to sit in the corner when he got about like this she would go hey all right all right all right all right all right all right it's just a light fire okay okay okay okay okay all right all right let me hold my composure let me hold my composure we are going to go now to minister minister robert is back out on the floor and he's he's going to interview some more people for us and uh take us a little further into nice moment bless the lord i said i need you to calm down so i can do this interview don't play with it listen all it is is play tonight you're gonna be like shirley sees a mama she got it for real this time listen i come to uh to connect with the first family real quickly i want to specifically get some thoughts from our first daughter you know because someone mentioned earlier today on twitter just in thanking uh all of the the first family for how you all share your parents with us and you know we're certainly grateful but i want to i want to hear uh what your thoughts are on that tweet and just an appreciation and what it has meant to you uh being able to share this whole experience with your parents and share them with us somebody get the tissues no quentin i'm pastor clinton excuse me i'm going to hold it together this time um yeah i did see that tweet and for me um i think the mount makes it easier for um lj keisha and i as the kids to be able to share our parents because y'all appreciate even that um y'all appreciate us y'all y'all y'all don't hold back um y'all are so supportive so it it makes it easier to be giving of something or as precious as time when you know that it is appreciated so you know it's not hard i mean this has been my life literally my whole life i'm 31 they're celebrating 31 years so this is all that i know um but from day one we've just we've just been blessed with the crazy amazing church family so y'all make it easy awesome praise god listen i think we got time for one more you know we got to ask the fan favorite because you know him and pop's been killing it you know doing they tag team ministry but real quickly sir pastor lj over at the mount at portsmouth what has this uh experience been for you over 31 years and being you know here from start to finish uh i would just have to say it's amazing it's been it's been an amazing ride um to see to see uh to think about 860 and uh where things have come uh since the journey from 860 to now i just think it's been an amazing journey and uh it's to see all the amazing things that i think god has done through you too i think it's just it's been amazing awesome can't put it any better than that all right pastor clinton back to you sir all right well welcome again back to the stage and we're not going to be long thank you for our online audience for hanging in there with us and streaming with us and celebrating with us we appreciate you so right now we're going to throw it up to the screens for video name tribute raymond alexander and i'm an elder that first contact with uh professor brown was as he was one of my students at norfolk state and uh and then later he came to the church and i was on the pulpit committee to deacon and so but i didn't tell anyone that i had contact with him before because it wasn't always very good and so and so uh so he came there and he uh we accepted him as a new pastor and he uh started putting together his program for the year and the thing that springs to my memory is that the first year when he was planning the year he told us what he planned the budget what he wanted to do and i was just sitting there listening because uh we had had several other young ministers who had come and since i was born in this church and grew up in this church superintendent sunday school there teaching sunday school and uh i um i just listened to him listen and when he got through i said all right we heard the program that you planned and what you would like to do and then i say but you forget this is mount 11 we're here in bale's mill we don't have any more than such-and-such a number of members there's 50 someone gets that there and our budget is it's just our budget and then there's no way we can do that here uh with this number of people and budget and so he listened to me he said yes yes you're right you're right and then when he got through he said we can't do it but if it's done you know that it wasn't us it was god who did it i said yeah that's the only one who can do that and so then we started planning uh from there and and several things happened in between one of them i remembered my personal experience in life how i had wanted to do this and that but i said can't do but one or the other and then one morning i heard a sermon that said how big is your car and from that day on i said i'm going to build a house get married i'm going to get my doctorate i'm going to do this because my god big enough to do it all and then i thought back to what he said he was going to do and and so then it hit me again and say look with god all things are possible and that was really in my mind and and so then as he went through his programs and the church grew the budget grew the ministry grew uh all of us grew and then i began to look at that scripture a whole different way not that i conduct that we can do all things through christ strengthening even one sunday i remember i was asked to introduce him before he preached at one of the other churches and uh and he had been there for a while and done a number of things that uh i thought i knew nobody could do but god and so so at the end of my introduction to him i said uh you know with my experience with him uh now if he said i can play fly i would believe it based on the things he's done in the past that was there and um and so i left that like that of course a few weeks later the church gave him money to buy an airplane that was there and so and that's just the way it has grown in numbers and people in in sights and it's still growing now and so i am so thankful that we have him i'm so thankful that he was able to continue in spite of all the problems and troubles and obstacles back there and even now as i think daily in life and say look i can do all things to christ strangely [Music] welcome back to on stage with the earl bynum right alexis oh my god man i'm so happy to finally be at the moment you want to know a crazy story come on the last time i was at the mount i was about 11 years old and i was with my aunt elizabeth burks she's a member here yes my uncle sylvester burks they're the best auntie and uncle and we used to come here to virginia every summer and go to church with them the very last time i was here i was just i mean nobody heard a sunday best or any of that my hair was still black and you were excited i'm excited to be back that is amazing well we enjoyed your ministry now where are you from i'm originally from buffalo new york but i live in atlanta now okay yep i just got my house last year bought it in atlanta so i'm excited now you had a story about oh god a loss tell us about that oh my god literally all is not lost is my testimony and um it's been the catalyst that has drove this whole vehicle i tell you i lost everything i could touch to hurricane harvey while living in houston and what's crazy is i was on tour i was in las vegas when i found out the hurricane hit and while my property was being wasted away i was in las vegas got rushed off stage because they found an eight by five by seven kidney stone on the right side getting ready to obstruct my ureter so i had to have emergency surgery while still out of town in vegas on assignment while still losing all of my stuff so when i got home my car was parked at the airport it was deemed a total loss by the insurance company cut the check to the lien holder left me with nothing i thought everything was gone all while i was going through a major career shift went from being on a major label to the whole record label crashing yeah instantly independent had a manager lost over twenty thousand dollars to a bad deal i literally thought that was my rock bottom but the lord literally reminded me that often times that crash at the bottom is the perfect place for a new foundation come on so that was where the lord had me build at that rock bottom so all is not lost i'm still here and the fact that you are alive is an indication that all is not lost there's so much more that god has in store for you just keep on living baby like the old folks say i know that's right i'm sorry i'm glad to be here to tell about it well we are glad that you're here to tell about it sunday best all the time done on sunday best congratulations with that thank you i mean alexis spike and now your sister as well oh my gosh my baby jada oh my god who's on tour right now i'm so so proud of her you know god has really really blessed her journey and she's getting ready to release her singles soon i'm just proud got a non-profit organization in georgia just released the third record with the clark sisters music and man had the best voice i haven't left my house since my mother passed last march this is the first time that i've been in ministry since then so i'm sorry if i'm a little crazy on tonight but i've got to give god praise for not letting me lose my mind but let me see another day i could have been dead in my grave truth did not deserve to be dead in my grave but by his grace and black his mercy by no mercy time a video tribute please turn your attention to the screens [Applause] [Music] my name is sarah eason williams i am currently the senior pastor at the church of the living god center for change i am a member of the mount i always have been and went through several titles when i was here to include custodial for a little while and then also i was church clerk for a while and my last duty station as it were was a youth minister and i was youth minister until i graduated from virginia union at which time i went to a different church where i had to do my internship so i had to go to another church because it was recommended that you not do your internship at your home church and if you could also not in the same denomination so i went to a church in suffolk to be the youth minister there to do my internship and at the end of the internship i stayed as the youth minister there [Applause] uh bishop came to us back in 90 and he came originally at the invitation of uh reverend edward wilson we all know him as peter mann and so he came at the invitation of reverend wilson he and el devel came to our church and they introduced themselves you know when they have you know visitors to stand up like back in the day and so they stood up and you know they introduced themselves and so uh at the time i was on the pulpit committee as well and so they came and i remember my sister coming to me jackie came to me and she says you know you know we already had our list of preachers and says when are y'all going to get that man named brown to come and being on the pool equipment pulpit committee i was like okay we can we'll get him so they can't so when bishop came and i think it was like the second sunday in july i wanted to say and he came and he preached a sermon called has the salt lost his savior and he began to tell what the uses of salts you know what were the uses of the salt and the senior citizens of the church just went wild especially when he got to the part about how his grandmother would put salt uh you know have him to goggle and salt water or something like that and so that just really struck the seniors and as a resident as after that the rest kind of like his history because then he came and he started he you know we gave him i think a month we were trying to give preachers a month so we gave him a month and he would do the um services for us and the church just fell completely in love with him so when we look back over the years of all the things that the two have accomplished it's just uh you know everything from uh instilling uh great you know financial um you know everything from you know people managing their finances um to couples you know to mentoring and you know uh counseling couples um and the young people you know just such a great impact on the young people and i think that that's um that's that's going to be it and just making sure that the blessing the community which is what they've always done and i remember when they went um years ago i mean many moons ago when we were still at 860 and one christmas they just went a long some road i forget where it was and just put envelopes in people's mailboxes just to bless them so just being able to just bless people checking on the seniors they always you know during like different storms and kinds of things like that um they would go and check on their seniors and making sure that they were okay and everything so that's that's really just powerful really the legacy continues hey hey we're back you're on stage with robin right here and musical soul food we're so excited i'm excited about this young lady because i have interviewed her before on my show and to have her now here at the mount live for 31 year celebration of bishop and elder i'm so excited welcome to virginia thank you so how are you doing i'm good man i'm good you know maintaining like everybody else well you're doing it well you're doing it well so tell us about the cure tell us about it the cure um i started writing this project about about five or so years ago um did not know at the time you know that my parents would pass in between that time like i said on stage my mother just passed in march of last year um she passed from cancer and so you know seeing her go through that process of trying to find a cure but then us having to accept that the cure was her going you know it was the first time in my life that i had to really believe in the the gain of death and the promise of heaven you know you say it a lot you know but to have to really believe it to have to really trust god in that process um you know it is curing you know it brings me peace and everybody asks how do you get through it because i have that hope you know that that's where we're going and so i believe that that's where she's headed to you know that's awesome now growing up in new york for you how was that um it was great you know i think it made me who i am okay you know i'm tough you know good street smarts um you know but just i don't know just you know new york i thought this i said all the time with new york girls uh it was unique in a way you know what i mean we're like i said we're tough you know but in the same breath you know we will fight to the ends of the earth for those that we love and so i think that it's giving me the grind and stuff that i need got you now with your sunday best experience how has that been for you i mean seeing you on sunday's best i i still remember your audition and then seeing you make the show and i mean you were in the countdowns and all of that how was that for you um i i i honestly can't even hardly remember it you know because i i've never had a passion to sing you know this wasn't what i wanted to do with my life and so going on the show was more so about making everyone leave me alone about singing it was like i'm gonna go they're gonna hear what she said today gravel gravel and butter voice and they're gonna be like girl get out of here go home you know i heard so many people that i thought were so much better than me and so for me to make it through and for me to get as far as i did and to even still be here now it's a blessing i know it's nothing but god wow now your experience here at the mount can you talk about that and what what has it been for you i told you i was going to teach you it was horrible it has been amazing i was just joking it has been amazing i mean the hospitality you know is is just oh my god it's amazing they have literally catered to me and my son tried to make sure we had everything that we need if i muttered a word you know that oh it's a popcorn you know it was popcorn in the box it's just anything i could have asked for they made sure that i was okay and so i've had a great time bishop and elder you have taught your people well um and i can see their spiri the spirit of you in them so thank you wow well you heard it first right here from the one and only me he did it for pastor and first lady for 31 years why not you [Music] why not you no you're looking at your situation like it's too big but i got it bigger than any mountain bigger than any sickness come on y'all bigger than any trial oh bigger than any calamity oh he's bigger bigger bigger yes he's bigger bigger bigger cancerous still drying up come on aids is still dissipating come on he's still a wonder working he's still a wonder working miracle signs and wonders shall we see i said miracles signs and wonders shall we see he's never lost his power [Applause] he's never lost his power all church you ought to get excited because god is not through working miracles we shall see the manifestation of healing we shall see the manifestation of deliverance we shall see financial increase the belly of yourself [Music] [Music] so what was your first impression of bishop kimbram [Music] well at the time he's pastor brown when i first saw him he was a tall fella and i said he looks different and then later on as he became the interim pastor i figured he was different because of the things that he was doing he had entered interim stage so after he was uh promoted to pastner and the different things that he did it really impressed me and a lot of other people so we enjoyed having him then and we enjoyed having him now so in the early years he came and started the uh academy and had the uh the trailers outside we had one trailer outside the 884 860 location and uh they had a few students barbara dudes i think she was principal so after that we had i think at the beginning i think they see the 50 members uh and then on sundays things increased quite a bit uh at one point we could go and get a seat anywhere then sunday's uh church started filling up so one sunday church filled up so much i didn't have a place to sit i had to go into vestibule and sit and then people started coming in again i had to get out of there and then go into the back that's it and people came in the back so i went through it outside stood outside to build another this is a snack on the door so then later on things people started coming and the place started filling up more and more so i think put some chills in and out and uh everything just exploded and of course uh it got so large that we had to move so he decided that we needed to build the church 884 so they uh we built that and like that became too small too and that's when the um some people approached them about uh buying this facility here at 215 last guy violence but in the early days it was uh it was i wouldn't say it was a struggle but we had uh we had a wonderful time with all the people that we had he was real close with the old sisters and the brothers and everything so he came and he uh changed the atmosphere at the church and uh he changed uh changed a lot of us forever of course you had a couple of them that didn't want to uh build a new church so they decided when they died they wanted to be humanized at least chapel and amh church down the street so we kept on rolling we didn't care go ahead so like i said we are where we are today because pastor brown or bishop brown and elven battle around what kind of impact has he had now i mean he had a large i'm back you can see by what's going on here and the global ministry and all of the uh things that he's brought forward in this church and all of the people that he's helped and by being on the hospital authority award he's helped quite a few people also there and uh just being bishop brown so anyway he goes i'm sure people know him and you know it's just one of the things that he's famous no matter where he goes and i'm sure people want to run up and shake his hand or he didn't want to run up and borrow money i remember i hear bishop often talk about your family being like the first families that were here back then like so what was that relation and if they were here today what do you think their their thought process would be of everything that's happening well i'd say if uh in a matter of others it was very coming back like my father he was a deacon down at eight sixty and i said if he were to come back today he would be really shocked and i think he'd be really surprised at how much we have grown from where we were at age 60 to to where we are now and a lot of the other sisters and brothers i'm sure they would be absolutely surprised and shocked also but like i said we just had a couple of them that just didn't want to transition into a new facility of course one guy he was just uh was her third sunday usher he just told his mama he was going to church on the third sunday and uh that was it the rest of the time he was gonna be home so that's what he did but you know all uh we've had a lot of people that have come through and uh some have a whole lot i don't have remains and then we had somebody just couldn't take the the way things are going so it's sad to leave but i can say that uh i'm here until they rolled me out what what do you think because first of all how long have you been serving and why do you continue to serve i have been here a long time and i think i was here before the bishop came i was here uh of course i uh was baptized about 14 14 years old i think at the old mountain that was 860. and uh i'm still here because i love the church i love the people and uh i just see the crowds and i'm sure they'll get a lot of inspiration from the messages that he delivers and uh i just enjoy being here and just messing with you guys and aggravating y'all people i told somebody that's why i'm here i get paid to aggravate people i do a good job but like i say the bishop he's he's been the bishop and he's one of one of a kind i'd say and he's down to earth so you know you go and he comes in and jokes and i joke him a little bit i don't think my little eyes but anyway he's a fun guy to be around to talk with and he's uh and when he's preaching uh services that i've listened to uh some of his messages i've taken him and uh gone on and applied into my life especially in marriage different things he's talking about in marriage that's one of the strongholds that he has is being mad and still in love with his wife so i've been live with 56 years of making here so i'm still hanging yo uh bishop i know them i'm saying happy anniversary and i hope you have many more we've enjoyed having you here at the mountain and i hope you will continue to stay as long as you can i know you want to go and retire but the time i can wait you have to stay and help some more that's awesome now you sunday's best how was that experience for you and what did it do for you even after that the experience of sunday best for me was absolutely amazing of course this is ups and downs you know there's a lot of challenges on the show um but for me it was absolutely amazing the the contestants that i've got to meet even the judges and even you know the staff you know being there i learned so so so much um you know what the show has done for me it's given me a platform to continue my family's legacy to reach people on a greater scale and i i thank god for how he's elevating um i don't ever want to be elevated without his guidance i don't ever want to go up before him okay um so i'm thankful for what he's doing that's good yeah now wonderful is your name we know that's your dad's song he wrote that song amazing any future plans for other songs because your dad has a lot of material you know it absolutely um just trying to strategize um for what the world needs to hear okay um and what you know what's next so yes absolutely so as a young person if it was some young person watching all over the country what is one thing you could tell them or encourage them about um there's three things that i'd like to say to people um trust in god know what he's given you um who he's made you to be um remain remain remain remain humble not false humility we we don't need it but just remain humble there's there's something about humility that is the key to so many things in life god honors uh humility and you know just putting him first um that's another thing put god first before everything pay your tithes likes the simple things you know god wants us to be faithful um over a few things you know he will bless bless us um but yeah i would i would definitely say that you know um to anyone who is just trying to excel in life wow that's good that's good well we have enjoyed you here any last words you want to give to bishop and elder yes they are watching yes bishop elder thank you so so much for having me here once again congratulations on 31 years i'm wishing you 61 more years plus and i am so excited thank you for your impact and what you're doing in this nation and i cannot wait to come back cannot wait to see what you all are doing thank you we can't wait to have you back yes we're going back to the sanctuary right here you're on stage with robin they don't brought the rookie up now after that after all of that first and foremost i want to take the opportunity obviously you don't see brandy with me tonight so on behalf of my wife she'll be here later on the weekend to be able to celebrate to bishop elder and the first family we love you happy 31st anniversary i'm gonna get out of the way um but when i was thinking about what i wanted to be able to say i remember one time i bought my wife a car and i was getting ready to put the plate on the car and she asked for a frame and she said she wanted a legacy frame now i'm not greek bishop you know i'm not agree whatsoever me find me dr kimberly and so uh she she asked for the legacy frame up there and so i'm you know i'm thinking in my mind i'm like why you want the legacy frame up there you know she was so she explained it to me she broke it down she said this simply she says mike because i'm coming after my sister so somebody who has already laid foundation for me to be able to walk in delta so when people see that plate or the frame on the back of that plate they know that there was somebody else that came before me and so i want to take the opportunity to just say that you've laid a great foundation not only for myself and you know young guys and and coming up and taking chances on me but for all of the site pastors all of the site leaders and everybody that you serve every day you model marriage you model consistency you model mentorship you model so many different things and i'm honored to be a part of what god has allowed you to be able to build i thank you i appreciate the moments that you all pour into us all of you not just bishop and elder so we love you on behalf of all of the partners at the mountain at charlotte we love you and we are happy to be able to celebrate with you we got a small gift hopefully you can go to steak and shake and get you something to eat from that but i can't say that enough we love you happy 31st anniversary well good evening to the first family first of all let me start off by saying how grateful and appreciative i am to serve up under youtube now i echo what the psalmist declared tonight she said you guys have taught us well and if we know anything about our bishop bishop is an amazing educator one of the things that i've learned when hanging out with bishop is he's always going to give you a pop quiz his favorite question is what did you learn not even expected one of the things i've learned bishop and i want to read this it was a quote by horace mann he's an american education reformer he said if a man have not made some type of contribution to him humanity they should be ashamed to die we're looking back over you and elders journey and the first family's journey your journey as we all can attest you have made major contributions from churches to universities to hospitals to businesses to programs to projects to pastors to politicians to people to sites and you continue to pour endlessly it is quite evident that your contribution to humanity has been remarkably great tonight we celebrate 31 years you have taught us that three plus one equals four which speaks to the fact that you have made and continue to make major contributions to humanity so tonight this weekend we come together to celebrate to show our appreciation and gratitude to not just you but to elder to the first family for the contribution that you guys continue to make the legacy continues happy anniversary [Music] good evening good evening i'm pastor tyrone and this is my beautiful wife lady t um bishop three is the number of the godhead and one is the absolute number so god told me to talk about three things that you have blessed us with and when i go all the way back to 2002 three things you've done i will never forget that you saved our marriage i will never forget that you and elda set us in seats and taught us how to handle our finances and the third thing i'll never forget the night that my heart went out of rhythm that at two o'clock in the morning i looked up and you were standing in that hospital room i'll never forget that as long as i live but the next thing y'all the number one thing is when we got to the mountain i had never heard a preacher say whatever's on the table we sow into you one of the things that you've modeled before me and my wife and everybody here is being givers paying our tithe and sowing seeds you and elder have taught us how to handle what god has blessed us with and the crazy thing is all week long the enemy has been throwing things at me and my wife and i when i tell you he's been throwing things at us i had to get a heart monitor put on me just like when my heart went out of rhythm in 2007 i started feeling some stuff so i'm wearing a heart monitor tonight then on the lord's day last sunday the air conditioner unit went out that was a 600 repair but because of what you taught us we were able to pay gabby's tuition in august because of what you taught us we've still been able to pay the mortgage because of what you have taught us not one of our bills have went behind and because of what you have taught us when we paid that man to fix our air conditioning unit we still had a few coins left in the bank because of what you taught us god told me that i bet not get up there and say because of what happened i can't sow my seed and so it's with great honor and pleasure that we sow into you all tonight because of what you have sown into us over the years and i'll tell you bishop and elder we both hover on our medallions tonight and we wear these medallions with pride and honor because we serve two of the greatest leaders this side of heaven we thank god for you all and we are so glad to be a part of what god is doing in this season i got one more minute and i'm supposed to encourage everybody else to give listen i have shared our testimony tonight but each and every one of you all at home you have a testimony as to how bishop and elder have changed your life and i guarantee you watch this they have taught us that when you sow sparingly you reap sparingly but when you sow bountifully you reap bountifully and so on tonight i encourage you to sow into our man and woman of god because they have sown so much into all of us so there are two ways to give on tonight you can sow by going pastor that might be watching um today has been an interesting day um i had a 12 o'clock zoom because one of the generals in our area pastor dwight riddick out of all the bishops he could choose chose me to be his consecrator pastor anthony macklin from baltimore chose bishop alfred owens to be his consecrator but they're doing it together in richmond so today i get on the zoom and it's bishop walter scott thomas bishop alfred owens and i am quiet because the one thing my mama taught me is when you in tall cotton keep your mouth closed don't let people know you're ignorant let them at least have to guess bishop oscar brown is the consultant so i'm sitting there and i just saw god it's got to be the favor of god i'ma say this with this sister beside me because for every young pastor wherever you are tonight that you might be watching [Music] you saw mr bill alexander mr bill was here when i came saw elder raymond alexander elder raymond alexander was here when i came they still here they have spoken truth to me when i didn't want to hear truth and in his absence two people deacon a.t alexander elder this elder said boy if i didn't know about i would think that was a.t alexander up there talking tonight he was the chairman deacon when i came and trustee melvin locke and this is how i end tonight y'all know i like to joke so one sunday i'm joking on elder and as soon as church was over trustee locker ran up to me he was a world war one veteran so he walked with a limp he said bro pastor and this is how he would talk he said bro pastor you know i love you i'll follow you anywhere you go but you got to leave my girl alone he said call elder is my girl and it was the way he kept saying and i'm like wow this man really loves my wife he said you don't understand elder is my social security and i'm like what is he talking about he said just like the government send me something every third of the month elder stops at my house every third of the month and put something in my hand [Music] so when i got home i said how long you been going to trusty locker's house every first month she said years i said you never let me know she said god didn't tell you to do it he told me to do it she said this ain't got nothing to do with you it was me and him the success that you see is not because we're so gifted not because we're so intelligent i have forgotten until elder raymond said i remember that christmas only tonight when god said i want you to go down this street on belles mill road and you just pick mailboxes and put envelopes of cash in the mailboxes y'all we love you thank you so much for tonight for every gift that raised an offering of music thank you collective i don't want to single y'all out among all these great psalmists but what's amazing is y'all literally got up there behind everybody and sang with everybody [Music] i leaned over to my sister and told her the most amazing thing for me sometimes is to realize the gifts that are in this house i'm just eternally eternally grateful i'm gonna give the mic to elder cause y'all broke my girl down y'all got my girl crying i'm like wow i think bishop has said it all for tonight i and i guess for me i guess i'm just so emotional right now because i just feel the love and i just love y'all um you've made 31 years very easy to be your first lady because you supported me all the way you know i was just not that traditional person wouldn't murder the little dolly and wanted to come in here and pants and some of everything else and y'all just embrace me and love me for who i am who i've been and i think my growth has been because of you guys loving and supporting me and i'm just feeling it on tonight so i just thank y'all that because i love you thank you hey y'all got my grandson crying when he see my mom crying he gonna cry cause that is mama boy right there all right all right sir can you do since it's pastor's anniversary can you do at least one king jaffa
