hallelujah glory to god ruth chapter 2 1-17 glory to god hallelujah praise god and naomi and the king's man of her husbands a mighty man of wealth of the family of emotion and his name was boaz and ruth the moabitess said unto naomi let me now go to the fields and glean heirs of corn after him in all sight i shall find the grace and she said unto her go my daughter and she went and came and gleaned in the field after the reapers and their hope was to light was to light on a part of the field belonging unto boaz who was of the king's kingdred of emily and behold boaz came from bethlehem and said unto the reapers the lord be with you and they answered him the lord blessed thee then said boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers whose damsel is this and the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said it is the moabitish damsel that came back with naomi out of the country of moab and she said i pray you let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves so she came and had continued even from the morning until now that she turned a little in the house then said boss unto ruth harris thou not my daughter go not to glean in another field neither go from hence but abide here fast by my maidens let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap and go thou after them have i not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee and when thou art a thirst go on to the vessels and drink of that which the young men have drawn then she fell on her face and bowed herself to the ground and said unto him why have i found grace in thine eyes that thou should estate knowledge of me seeing i am a stranger and boaz answered and said unto her it has fully been showed me all that that was done unto thy mother-in-law since the death of thine husband and how thou has left thy father and thy mother and the land of thy nativity and i come unto a people which is the newest not heretofore the lord recompense thy work and the full reward be given thee of the lord the god of israel under whose wings the word come to trust them then she said let me find a favor in thy sight my lord for thou has comforted me and for that that was spoken friendly unto thine handmaid though i be not like unto one of thine handmaidens and boasts said unto her at mealtime come thou heather and eat off the bread and dip thy morsel in the vinegar and she sat beside the reapers and he reached her parched corn and did eat and was sufficed and left and when she was risen up to glean boaz commanded his young men saying let her glean even among the sheaves and reproach her not and let fall some of the handfuls of purpose for her and leave them that she may glean them and rebuke her not so she gleaned in the fields until even and beat out that she had gleaned and it was about an ether of barley glory oh god the lord has spoken let the church say the lord hath spoken let the church say praise the lord you may have your seats glory to god put your it for granted to be able to sing and pray and praise god is indeed a blessing can i ask if there are any first time visitors with us this morning could you indicate by raising your hands any first-time visitors we always are blessed with visitors if you are not in this congregation we know you might be in the other locations thank you for joining us this morning please continue to receive the blessings as god pours them on us you know we are living in a time that is very troubling the negative news items the rising food prices people losing their jobs and all sorts of things may cause us to want to lose hope and become very despair you know feel downtrodden and despair but this morning i want to encourage you to hope in god keep your hope alive in god the hope that god provides is not simply a mere feeling of um just delight or you know just a passing feeling it is a deep sense of surety that the lord will do what he says you can it brings calm and reassurance hope is a good medicine because it relieves stress and despair so i encourage you this morning to continue to hope in god do not lose hope in god at any time at all god is a man that cannot lie he's not a man that he can lie whatever he says he does is that amen so keep trusting in god because his promises are ye and they are amen so it is my privilege this morning on behalf of our presiding bishop dr delphi to meet with all the credential officers in this space for a very important meeting here is winding up and so many things are there to be discussed and agreed upon six o'clock on thursday evening please join with dr petrover and i for a very important office as discussion the lord is good isn't he all right so much for all of that yesterday i attended martial's graduation well maybe another for graduations god bless us with three wonderful children they do not take front line in this church for whatever reasons the lord knows well at least not at this point earlier on there were very involved emile playing drums mike was the lead keyboard player and he's one of the best keyboardists around only maybe dennis rushton can stand beside mike angelo minister bryan may take issue with me on that and even the would want to take issue in that but it was very good keyboard player marshally song with the the group and did all kinds of stuff yesterday where she started marketing at university decided university of west indies decided to study continue to study and martially you're a phd student okay you're a phd student i'll work with you to achieve that phd in the name of the lord yesterday oh yeah i stand here and i speak of other people's children why i can't talk about mine give me a break i love to talk good about people's children you know that so in a class of 38 marshally topped the class with the highest uh gpa highest oh that's she there oh my goodness well i'll put her back i didn't see her put her back for me she's in church come down here my girl top the class beat everybody the only person to graduate with the first class on us yesterday was marshally davis spencer only person first class on us my goodness and top the prizes got some great awards also you're wonderful okay phd join me we work towards a phd okay she was assistant manager at the hotel some years ago assistant to the general manager wonderful young ladies no social distancing okay where the picture all right that's me look at her son my goodness he was there too had a great time and her husband we had a great time yesterday god is good amen keep on studying my girl bless is good i love him join me for the word of god a wonderful text was read from the second chapter of the little book name ruth named after the right to i suppose we are going to be ministering from that particular portion and i know god has gone to bless many people in different ways by the way let me thank those of you who are staying with me in the night wednesdays and fridays we got lots of people on praying around the world is not wonderful i thank every one of you gracious god we ask you to bless your words to our hearts send the anointing of the holy spirit it is not by might nor by power but it is by your spirits lord if you move upon us then we will receive a blessing so we ask you to move upon this gathering at home and abroad here and now whenever and wherever let the anointing of god make the difference that souls be saved backsliders be reclaimed may the saints of god be strengthened may sick bodies be healed let heaven be glorified and he'll be horrified as we look to you now for supernatural anointing in jesus name amen there are some 17 outstanding women in the bible that biblical writers took time out to give give special recognition to them in this service i'll mention eight of them in the second service i'll mention the other seven just in passing outstanding women such as eve they called her the woman of curious city agar they called her the discarded wife miriam they called her the ambitious woman deborah they called her the patriotic woman root from which i'll preach this morning they called her the woman of constancy constancy anna they called her the ideal mother abigail they called her the capable woman the shonomite woman they called her the hospitable woman and esther they called her the self-sacrificing woman in this service i'll preach from ruth and in the second service i'll preach from esther because i want i believe the lord has something to say not just to women of women about women but i believe he wants to speak to everybody because in christ there is neither male nor female can you say amen so in the second chapter of ruth the word says from verse 4 and the old boers came from bethlehem and said unto the reapers the lord be with you and they answered them the lord blessed thee then said boss unto his servant that was sent over the reapers whose dumb damsel is this and the servant that was sent over the reapers answered and said it is the morbidity morbidity damsel that came back with naomi out of the country of moab i want to stop right there i want to use a very funny theme today in two parts the first part says your candle loses nothing when it lights another your candle loses nothing when it lights another so if you have a lit candle and you see someone who has an unlit candle but really would love their candle to be lit if you reach out and use your candle and light their candle your candle loses nothing when it lights another are you there with me anybody so what's the sub theme light somebody's candle lift your hand and say lord help me to light somebody's candle now say it like you mean it everybody lord help me to light [Music] somebody's candle glory to god we are moving out of the realm of selfishness we are moving out of the realms of insulation and we move into the realm of fellowship we are moving to the realm of serving because there are some people around whose candle is lit and burning bright and they can see where they're going because they have the lights and some of those same people will see others with a candle on lit and all those persons want is for somebody to reach out and light their candle so that they too can walk in the light are you here with me somebody and god knows some people will be content and satisfy and feel good to move away with their lich candle and leave the others with their unlit candle to stumble in the dark the holy ghost is saying your candle when it is used to light somebody else's candle it loses nothing oh glory and that's something that most of us are acquainted with because we use candle maybe sometimes or the other to light another somebody say something i hope i could get into somebody's heart this morning and let you know that the candle that god has given you or the candle that god has made you to be it is not for you to be selfish with that candle but it's for you to use that candle and light as many candles as you can so that we create a great light for everybody god help me in this house this morning [Music] just look at the practical demonstration of it if you may if this house is in total darkness in the in the night total darkness and someone stand there with one candlelit it shows a little light but can you imagine all the others who are here if someone uses that candle and in a relay type operation we begin to light each other's candle all over the place can you imagine what it looks like when all the candles are lit oh jesus can you imagine what it would be when all the candles are lit nobody would stumble because it would be a gradient of glowing light across the place lift your right and again and say lord help me to light somebody's candle glory i'm saying it over and over again intentionally purposefully deliberately because we have some people who are just too selfish we have some people who's just too much for themselves and as long as they are on top of their games they don't mind walking on others who are down there as long as they are getting along it doesn't matter who failed to get along but that's not what the gospel is all about that's not what jesus's ministry is all about oh glory some people don't have a problem standing higher looking low on somebody down there the most honorable porsche sim similar former prime minister of jamaica she said the only time you look down or you should look down on a person is when you're gonna lift them up oh god almighty bless her jesus the only time to look down is when you are going to give a helping hand somebody needs a helping hand the story of this family ruth her husband their two sons and their son's wives this story shows oh god can intervene even at the back end everybody say back in oh god i'm gonna preach this message if you help me it shows so god can intervene even at the back end when it seems as though nothing will work when his females know the future is bleak and dark and everything is how to walk and when the enemies are getting ready to say ha ha so would we have it when those who are detractors are getting ready to say i know you would not make it and no you would not succeed i know you would suffer defeat god can step in even at the back end he's an on-time god may not come when you want him oh some of you are saying nothing god please deliver us from these masks over our faces so we can praise you freely i said he's an untimed god he may not come when you want him but he'll be right on time somebody lift your hand and say i have an on time god say i serve an end-time girl some of us know what it is to have god step in at the back end of the back end glory to god hallelujah so it's not over it's not over wave your hand and say it's not over say oh no it's not over until it's over and it's not over yet but certainly he always come when we need him most just when i need the most he shows up so six persons were in that immediate family circle three men and three women and tragedy struck three men died or the three men died leave three widowed women to struggle on the home three with that women to chart the course for themselves three without women to take decision as to what happened to their future and to make matters worse one woman lose her faith one woman lose hope one woman lose courage one woman lose determination and one woman broke rank with the other two women and said i'm gonna have to try a thing on my own listen me child of god don't try it on your own i must have the savior with me somebody finish it number and finish it i must serve the savior with me for i dare not walk alone i must feel his presence near me and his arms are on me throne it is then my soul shall fear no hill let him lead me where he will i will go oh glory to god i go without a murmur and his footsteps [Music] so one young woman lose their faith lose their courage or determination or hope and she kissed her mother-in-law and she said i can't deal with this i'm gonna have to go back i heard your words i'm gonna go back to where i came from please do not go back from where god took you the bible says he or she or they who do such thing is comparable to a dog going back to his vomit that's bible words that's so distasteful as by the words peter said that it's like the door's going back to his vomit and it's like the hog the pig going back to his wallet in the mud don't go back lift your hand and say by the grace of god i will not go back say it again say it again say it again yeah we're going digging this message this morning because when challenges face some of us along this journey we are tempted to go back the songwriters say often i'm tempted to turn from the track but when i think of my savior my mind wanders back to the place where they nailed him on calvary's tree and i heard a voice saying i suffered for thee i served loving more truly than ever before somebody praise god in this house now two without women were left empty and broken because nothing has worked well so far all their husbands died and now the third of the three women broke wrong so they were left not just withered but empty and broken distraught disappointed and i'm speaking to some persons in my audience right now who can relate to what i'm saying in a personal way you can relate to it in a personal way and also from the standpoint of your family relations because in the midst of that family that should be so cohesive that should be so supportive loving and kind to each other people break rounds from time to time and leave others standing on their own what about a wife that is left standing on her own this morning and your husband is roaming all over the place what about children who are left on their own and parent because parents have abandoned them what about husband who is left on his own because he too has been abandoned they are broken they are empty they are distraught they are disappointed they are in disbelief you mean this has happened to me oh the son of late great oral roberts one of his sons we had a session together some years ago a long time ago and he says he said when his wife divorced him and he went to bed that night after the divorce's final and he woke up the morning and said what what's happening he said i'm divorced but although i am divorced it said i am alive and he began to was near his life whoa glory to god so if you're hanging by a threat this morning still you can climb life's mountain though the cliffs are hot and chugged you can call if you sleep and reach rope's end you will find the helm of his garment but please don't let go don't let go don't let go of the last spread of hope because god can come in even at the back end even up the back end exhausted carl discouraged when the holy ghost dropped that to me and said thank you jesus not discourage discouraged person don't talk like a rude talk are you not with me here discouraged people don't use those kinds of words discouraged people talk negative they talk doubt oh glory to god but rouge was not discouraged she knew that even on the back end and i'm gonna say this over and over and over again because that is where god is gonna come through for some of you on the back end on the back end on the backhand because as it now appears nothing is working your candle is not lit god am i preaching like this your candle is not lit you have a candle but no match to light it you have a candle but nobody is stretching out fears to light yours oh jesus god almighty somebody wave your hand and say something here an anointing is coming up on me that is heavy it is heavy it is heavy it is heavy it is heavy glory to god almighty and god is going to use it to deliver somebody god's gonna use it to set somebody free god's gonna use it to break some yoke it's a long time i don't walk down here god's gonna come true for you amen even up the backhand of your life the devil thinks you're known or not but you're not discouraged you're disappointed you're disheartened you are distraught you are distressed but known inside of your belly something is burning in your gut you said i know the lord will make a way somehow some through the water some through the flood some to the fire but i'm going through the blood some true great sorrow but god gives a song [Music] in the night season nobody praise him in this house oh god almighty somebody showed something behind me so something around me showed something before me shout on television shout where you are jesus these two women they were left to bring to perfection god's perfect will as it relates to themselves and as it relates to posterity generations to come they were left to bring to fruition they were left to perfect god's will that they faced in the midst of the emotional challenge in the midst of the financial challenge in the midst of the social challenge in the means of even the cultural challenge and also the physical challenge here were these two women oh glory to god but this is where my message begins you know i would just start to preach it years ago in spite of all i've said before you've been so blessed root saw a field and just as i'm going in there to glee root saw a field lift up your eyes and look there's something for you to see hallelujah roots saw a field and decided i'm going in there to glean and the second thing about it here comes boaz if you don't understand the scriptures my message are usually too deep for some of you she went in the field and began to work and before she broke a sweat before one of the men could touch her ear comes boys here comes a man with a lit candle here comes a man with a candle lit burning brights and when he saw her in the field he said who is that damsel and when they told him he said to her my girl you don't have to work this hard oh no i have come to light your candle i am boss i'm a very wealthy man those are my words i'm a very wealthy man i come to light your candle because it has been told how you cared for your mother-in-law and the lord is about to reward you your candle will not stay on lit for one more day i told a young man don't you touch her when you need water to drink go where the maidens drunk from and go drink there don't even clean in the fields anymore let them leave on fools and purpose you go pick up whatever you want whenever you choose god is about setting to light somebody's unlit candle from an unexpected source through unexpected channels using unexpected persons god is about to come through for somebody and light your candle when your candle is lit he said don't keep it to yourself because your account loses nothing when it lights another oh i got to stop it dear god just getting into the message somebody wave your hand and say something what have you gonna say something right on the back end of her life god stepped in let me repeat two things i said she saw a field and she entered into the field to work then ear comes boys somebody says something here comes the big man here comes the wealthy man here comes the man who is in charge here comes a man that god has appointed for such a time a thought in roots life could god be setting you up for something bigger than your dream could god be setting you up for something you you have not featured us yet could god be setting you up for something for which no prophecy has been given to you no hand has been laid on you no word of wisdom having spoken to you could god in his own wisdom they set you up for something [Applause] give him praise glory boys came and he was roots he was the candle bearer the light roots candle and he began to commit to her all kinds of generosities all kind of generosity uh when you look in the text carefully you know it tells you that when god gets ready to move nobody can stop him and i want to tell somebody again like i told you before that god is setting you up to light your candle there on expected sources somebody lift your hand as the lord light my candle oh jesus what kind of candle you have to be lit a financial candle tired of the poverty of your life part of the paycheck to paycheck tired of the hunt to mouth living tired of passing people for this and this than the other could god be setting you up to give you a financial breakthrough could god be setting you up to give you to light a marital candle in your life come on is it beyond god with god how many things are possible some of you not even saying it with god how many things are possible wave your hand and say all things say all things [Music] five minutes at a bus stop what a couple of things that ruth had to have number one she had to be a responsible person by that i mean she knew when to step out and when to step up she knew when to make the move you have to be responsible if god is going to bless you to certain dimensions of life he will not bless careless hands and careless hearts to a certain dimension oh you're not saying nothing there she had to be responsible number two she had to have an initiative even when no one else goes before you you must take the initiative and go don't wait for precedence all the time sometimes you'll not have any precedence esther well let's leave her out of this until later let's leave her out but you have to have an initiative everybody say initiative act even when no one else goes before you they make a certain call in church and some people sit and wait until others move and when they see others move then they begin to move now something must be in your gut that propels you and said this is my time this is my moment and if you are the only person to step out step out give him praise and glory in the house of god so she had to be responsible she had to have an initiative and number three she had to make a sacrifice sacrifices to make some things work are very important in your life everything will not come on a plateau as a matter of fact most good things will never come you got to mind the goal emmani mind the goal take it out of the rust take it out of the rocks dig it out of the mountain dig it out of the deep put it through the fire before it becomes pure gold and some people need to make some more sacrifice in your christian life you need to fast when nobody else is fasting you need a prayer hours when nobody else is praying you need to go witnessing when you can't find a company to go with you oh glory to god you need to give seed faith her friend once the holy ghost speaks to your heart the church don't have to call for it god calls for it from you because he's setting you up for something oh you're not getting this my god [Music] jesus and number four you must operate with knowledge everybody say knowledge yeah you must possess enough information to be able to trust your decision it's knowledge you must possess sufficient enough information to be able to trust your decision and treat me not to leave thee nor to return from following you anywhere you go i go rude had sufficient information to know how the god of israel worked on behalf of those who trust him where you live i live will you die i die where your buried fear i be buried god do so to me and more not doing what harford did i am not going back i'm going to trust this decision that i am making god here's the church i have confidence
