Spooky Easter Eggs in Luigi's Mansion 3 - DPadGamer

do you know what the Spooky's day of the year is right behind halloween and international friends day is Friday the 13th December edition it's like The Nightmare Before Christmas but with less stop-motion animation I don't know where I'm going with this line reasoning so here's some Easter eggs in Luigi's Mansion 3 first off this installment of Luigi's ghost fighting trilogy once more allows you to hunt down and vacuum up various boo that are hiding throughout the last resort hotel a neat little slash sort of Easter egg is actually the vibration that the controller makes whenever you enter a area with a hidden boo listen very closely I've recorded this right next to microphone so it's easy to hear as it happens that's actually Morse code for boo you know how that just scratches the surface of this games attention to detail down in the grand lobby before starting the game proper the music you can hear will actually smoothly change to include a theme of the character that you're standing near for example here's Mario's theme [Music] and then peaches there's the toads which seem to have their own theme which I can't quite place it might be an original who knows if you do be sure to let me know in the comments down below now another each stray can actually be found up in a dance hall to the left of the elevator is a turntable up on the wall give this some classic vacuum power to make 18 play [Music] [Applause] this also causes a nearby blocks hoop here out of the wall which if bonked with Luigi's head will spawn a single coin repeat this until it becomes a normal solid block on all a pretty neat appearance of the classic hidden block another neat detail can be found throughout the game but especially up in room 502 of our AP Suites this room is where Myra spends the night before getting captured and we can see that he enjoyed like a lot of pizza on those boxes is since 1983 which is actually referencing the year the original mario bros game came out which happens to be the first appearance of Luigi himself also I can't now point out the fact that it seems Mario ate Pizza all over and like a lot of it which includes the bathroom nothing goes better with a nice soak in the tubs and a bunch of greasy pizza nice one now on the same floor over in room 508 bathroom is a neat radio when activated with the scroll bulb it'll play a number of sections of the Luigi's Mansion theme but in various styles here is a small sample [Music] as for the room itself this is where professor egads stayed and it seems that he even thought to put up a poster detailing the original poltergeist 3000 from the first Luigi's Mansion another reference to Luigi's Mansion is made by egad himself in the cutscene where he turned in his briefcase however if you've never played the wages mansion 3d yes like me it might have gone unnoticed he mentions having a little help from someone to test the prototype with someone highlighted in green as it happens he's refering to Luigi himself or at least an alternate timeline version of him as a future version of egad sends back the prototype Luigi to Luigi and Luigi's Mansion on the 3ds which didn't happen that we just mentioned on the Gamecube I'm not gonna get into a discussion on how that makes any sense but there you go now for the many well now for the 15 of you out there who really loved Luigi's Mansion Darkmoon you can rest easy knowing that this game does include a few references that game one of them which is most in your face is actually up in the drawing room of the master suites rotate the middle section around until you find this little diorama of the gloomy Manor which is the first mansion visited in that game you even get a little zoom in on one of the windows before getting jumpscared by a very valuable ghost another neat callback can be found on floor for the great stage while walking across the elevator hallway you can see a number of instruments alongside posters of those instruments but with scary faces on the far right is a tuba then down the hall right to left there is an oversized guitar a little sized guitar and even a circular metal percussion guitar the only spooky posts are not accompanied by an equally spooky guitar-like instruments is this one depicting a possessed piano that piano is not as the one used by Amadeus wolf guys the boss of the great stage about halfway through the battle he possesses this piano which is probably the third scariest piano really the thing you can think of right behind actually learning to play the piano which I really started doing [Music] and the piano room big boost Hans back in Super Mario 64 that one is actually probably the realest nightmare mentioned in this video but speaking of up in spooky floor 13 the fitness center there's a neat tune that will play whenever you activate these sensor exercise bike have a listen [Music] you'll no doubt recognize that as the hammer theme originating from the original Donkey Kong game oh maybe you don't know I can't read minds Oh huh man anyways I'm really glad that this game left a message on my answering machine because uh we got some more callbacks to take care of sorry in the first hallway of floor AIDS paranormal productions you can find a number of fake movie posters up on the walls which are actually all callbacks to games developed by next level games the studio that also developed Luigi's Mansion three near the front on the right side there is a Mars strikers poster as well as a dark moon poster in the middle left across from it is a marsh strikers charged poster and then in the back left is this one which is a bit hard to tell but it's actually the sinister figure of a space pirate from Metroid Prime Federation force and lastly across the way is a wonderful poster of little Mack and Doc Lewis from punchouts on the Wii this one is actually special because you can you ain't get open to get showered with a bunch of scare coins as well as a green boxing glove that you can then mess around with in addition to fake movies there are also some references to real movies like actually a bunch but I'll only point out a few of them first off on floor 9 a Natural History Museum you can find something neat on the reception desk it's a little glass ornament with a mosquito inside no doubt referencing the mosquito and the amber that was responsible for bringing back the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park back in the fire sets of paranormal productions we can find this bicycle with a bundle of cloth and it's basket a really cool reference to the 1982 game ET the extra-terrestrial okay not really it's probably for the actual movie but I couldn't not mention that meme of the game flower at it if you vacuum the nearby storm drain a bunch of bubbles will come floating out of it you might already be able to guess what movie it's a reference to but it's also important to point out the singular purple balloon that can be found down in the sewers of the boiler works it isn't red but it's how to place all the same of course these are most likely references to the movie or the movie which is titled it this isn't a funny joke sorry but you get I'm saying there's even a singular paper boat that can be found along the canal just like the boat and that that movie both went full of water and empty also it just has very weird physics which as the spookiness now that just about does it for this game 2 Easter eggs but I'd also like to mention Morty the director of the ParaNorman productions after the boss fight that he encourages you into you're free to move on but you might not know they actually have the option of revisiting the editing room and sucking up Morty don't do this only villains do this instead if you vacuum the editing rig you can witness his completed film it's really short and really cool so sit back and enjoy [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] huh that was a
