Shut the Door // STAY IN THE HOUSE (PART 11) - PASTOR MIKE JR.

in our text this weekend we see a very powerful narrative one that we can take and make applicable to our everyday life Elijah and a text without context becomes the pretext thus conning you out of the truth meaning that I can't just read this particular chapter what happened before it and after it and I like this particular chapter why because Elijah shows me that although he sits in the office of a prophet he has a heart for people and the worst thing in the world is dealing with somebody who sits in an office that is antithetical to their character how you call yourself a pastor but don't like people how you call yourself a prophet don't like problems no this is crazy ain't it how did God elevate you this is why this whole celebrity diva attitude bothers me how God exalts you to a level where the whole world know you now you don't want to deal with nobody no God puts you there so you can tell the whole world who did it and be a blessing to somebody Elijah is cold-blooded why because when we find him in this particular chapter we're not the particular chapter when we find him in this book he's just solved a problem for three kings he's just solved a problem for three kings he bumped into a sister who's struggling then he helps a wealthy woman I'm a back that up and give it to you again he solves a problem for three kings he bumps into a sister who's struggling many helps a wealthy woman what can we take from that summary real quickly and make our lives the better it is this right here that God cares about each individual situation in your life and it keeps me humble when I see this why does it keep me humble Pastor Mike because it teaches me a very valuable lesson I should not just cater my ministry to fit the demographic I want that's critical ain't it I should not cater my ministry to fit the demographic I won't I shouldn't try to wear a suit to impress wealthy people and talk proper now every time they see me I'm performing or I shouldn't try to be ask myself cuz we find this woman she's in a bad place let me set it up first she is depressed and she is destitute her husband is dead but dead the death scene he left her in isn't it insurmountable it's crazy imagine this now you find out your husband dead and before you can grieve that your husband dead beetles start showing up alright you're going through his drawer and he done left you in debt after dead after dead let's put another layer on it there's a knock at the door and the creditors have showed up to take your children as hostage now I want you to catch this because what do we see in this particular text she has drama on top of drama and I came to ask a couple people a couple questions that may just make you run around your living room and run around your house what do you do when your problems got problems that's critical ain't it what do you do when your problems got problems and you wish I wish life gave us allowance for bad days that's rich I wish life gave us an allowance for bad days make that make sense I I wish life was set up in a way that if her husband died it would have sent a memo out to debt to say hey no bills today no problems today no fussing today no arguing today but life don't work like that if it ain't one thing it's another she has problems on top of problems there's somebody watching me right now you can feel this sister because if it ain't one thing it's another pass the mic I need a break found out I'm sick now I got bills found out I got bills not children tripping husband not acting right now my mom and I'm turning on me Alabama power and instead of them begging you for their money they went to your child schoolers here coming ray-ray no sis your momma don't want to pay a bill she's gonna come clean this flow he came to get her children why is this important pmj because I really want you to understand I like this particular text because it deals with the reality that you can love God love your church love your family and still be financially unstable and I came to talk to a demographic of people that goes ignored because the gospel has been set up now to where we always have to talk about favor and prosper but I came to talk to a demographic of people right now who find themselves in the witness protection program because the church has programmed you into believing if you're not if you're not balling or appear to be well-off you're not favored when favor is not our determine by how much money you got in the bank favor is determined by what you survived favor isn't determined by how many zeros you got at the end of your paycheck favor is determined by how many nights you wanted to lay it down but you got up in the morning and he had his hand on your life because there's a demographic of people who are listening to me right now who are saved and struggling that's critical right there ain't it we never talk about that saved and struggling and I want you to understand it is possible to love God serve in church be nice to people and still die broke that's crazy ain't it and what I want you to understand I believe every believer should have a mindset that says I'm gonna set the internet on fire I'm going to be saved so stack in strategic Jesus Christ say that with me I'ma be saved so stack and strategic you got to get that in your spirit say it again I'm going to be saved so stack and strategic saved I'm giving God my heart and my life so I am a giver I am a tired the stack since I'm stuck in the house and can't go nowhere anything I would have spent going into my safe and at my door to take my children but the one thing I can't control is my praise I don't know who I'm treated to in here but can I preach the three people who's done trying to figure out how to fix your situation for the next 60 seconds you want to just cry out and say God if I ever needed you I need you right now since you can't shout I'm crazy enough to shout for your father in the name of Jesus many people are crying out to us I don't think you heard what I just said it right there she said no I'm not crying out to God I'm crying out to my man of God I want to preach to somebody in here who's so weighted that you have so many tears on you that ain't even your tears I can picture that perfect Palestinian Jew named Jesus on the cross saying God Father forgive them for they know not what they do he's not even dealing with his own tears he's still dealing with the tears and the complaints of others he says Father forgive them for they know not what they do I came to preach to three folk who've been bearing the weight of other people I need father y'all to just say pastor preach to me that you haven't even had time to deal with the fact you ain't making enough money cuz you've been trying to make sure bills pay for other folk you ain't even dealt with the fact you got sick cuz you've been having to uplift other people you ain't built with the fact of the existential realities that are called in your depression cuz you so busy trying to uplift other folk God said because you've been all shoulder for everybody else I'm about to endow you in so much strength that the devil your problems nothing cuz you don't cry out to God she cries out to Elijah this is critical what do i do Pastor Mike when I'm dealing with so many other tears I don't have time for my own think you call what I just say it because the oil pour the olive oil from your flask into the jar oh my god y'all don't see that says go get vessels from other folks now take that little you nothing cuz God's Word does not go out and return unto Him boy I came to make a prophetic declarative statement in his room this is a public service announcement what God is about to do in your life and in the life of those connected to you is so big you don't have time for fear you have no time for doubt you have no time for negativity you have no time for mess shut the door shut the door every hater shut the door and every negative family member shut the door your fear shut the door to get out shut the door fear pain shut the door to your past shut the door the eggs tell your past I am free
