due to how difficult it is to settle the fisherman Island this guide was almost never made fortunately though I was able to get a settlement up and running more context on why it was so difficult later in this video before that though let's cover the resources and the location of the fisherman Island kicking things off you're going to find really what's the best fertility in the game here and that's saying something you have 100% green and 50% swamp the big thing here though is with the 50% swamp fertility you won't have to water your crops they will be able to use the water in the soil automatically and that is a huge plus and then of course grain fertility is the best among the three fertility types because you'll be able to grow green fruit hemp cotton and wheat at a very high yield for the other resources Stone in particular is not hard to find and you'll be able to find 100% Stone values copper and iron though are very scarce and we'll cover that more as far as how to deal with that during the recommended location section of this video location wise the fisherman island is in the Deep South with a land bridge connected to the Bone Fields with the bone Fields Royal Valley and cheaters run being the closest region to the fisman Isle your commute into or out of this region is going to be dangerous to to say the least on the island itself there are some elevated regions but most of the area is Coastal all right with fertility and resources covered we can get into why settling the fisherman Island was so difficult for me I had the genius idea of taking my Solo character along with 10 newbies to the fisherman aisle to set things up in my mind I envisioned this epic battle between the fishermen and these 10 brand new recruits and then eventually the group would lead an assault on the king gurglar Tower which would ultimately eradicate fishmen forever after several painstaking attempts though this journey never happened it uh never even got off the ground to explain why all these new recruits died horrifically each time we'll need to discuss fishmen and how they operate exactly fishmen are the local inhabitants of the fishmen island they exhibit cannibalistic behavior and travel around in mobs similar to fogmen my shocking realization though during my time on the fishermen Island was that fishermen are much stronger than fogmen for several different reasons first of all their spawn rate appears to be higher their groups are larger they have higher HP than fogmen and their combat values are higher than fogmen oh oh it gets worse their cannibalistic behavior is so hard to deal with because they aim to kill or knock onc conscious everyone in sight before picking up a character and taking them to their camp this makes it immensely difficult to rescue a character who has been abducted and even though my Solo character was able to mow down hundreds of fishmen it didn't matter one unfort thing that they do share with fogmen as well as Skin Bandits and cannibals is the use of blunt damage now fishermen use martial arts but the majority of that is blunt so it's going to be similar to the blunt damage you would receive from being hit by a mercenary Club let's say for most armor types in the game the blunt damage percentage is going to be worse than the cut damage percentage that's bad news because even if you have high tier armor it means the hits are still going to go through partially among all these different things though what most disrupted my theoretical Heroes journey I was going to set out on was the spawn rate and the attack frequency of Fishman groups we would be attacked two sometimes three times a day just from the exhaustion of defending our base my characters were unable to keep up with the damage that was being done I was not going to be completely deterred though so I took a stronger Squad my next strongest Squad The Holy Lads the xenophobes we all love to see how they would fare in the agonizing days that followed they did emerg Victorious and were able to stabilize the settlement however two animals did die as well as to humans and all of the members of the squad did need Psych atric help after the experience in conclusion I would say it is far easier to take out the king gurglar before you settle than it is to fight off the fishmen as you build your base what will happen is when the king gurglar is taken out fisherman Island becomes a totally different experience instead of seeing fishermen everywhere you're mainly going to see crabs so your base just isn't going to be attacked very often be careful of the wild crabs they are quite strong so don't don't take it for granted that you'll be able to take them out in my time on the fisherman Island I never saw the crabs lose a fight to the fishermen and that's saying something aside from the fishermen here I would say that the main problem with the fisherman island is how far away it is from other cities Katan and mour are the closest cities and mour has a limited offering the upside to this though is that you won't be bothered by other factions it'll just be the fisherman I wasn't visited by skin Bandits reavers or the United City's tax man during my stay on the fisherman Island Beyond this it's kind of nice to be close to endgame areas and I really think that's what makes Fishman Island a viable late game base location even so if your primary interest is being close to end game areas why would you settle fisherman Island instead of green Beach gut or storm Gap Coast these three regions offer green fertility as well and are closer to places where you can sell and restock items anyway anyway before I return to my roots and start talking about how great Green Beach is I would say that the fisherman island is still uncontested in having the greatest fertility in the game having green fertility with the 50% swamp and then the ability for crops to grow without watering them that's very convenient and I will admit that oh yeah and before I forget the wind is very inconsistent on the fisherman Island so bring electrical components with you so you can build batteries and small wind generators to keep your power levels up and running because there will be times when the wind goes down to zero alternatively if biofuel is your thing that's totally possible here too many of the crops that can be grown on Fishman Island can be used for biofuel so consider that as a possible option to wrap things up if you do want to settle on the fisherman Island I really only have one location recommendation because there's actually only a couple iron and copper veins on the island so this spot right here will be the only place where you can get both copper and iron so I would say it's the only viable place to settle what about you though have you settled fisherman Island have you considered settling though let me know in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this video
