cheating allegations against Mike pasal are rapidly becoming pokers top story of 2019 in fact this story is so big I'm wearing sleeves something crazy happened in poker right now an allegation dudes cheating there but allegations made against a man named Mike possible my brother do it what the [ __ ] is going on man to shoot [ __ ] - the [ __ ] man if you're just catching up I'll give you the rundown Mike pasal is a regular on the stones poker stream essentially he plays in a lot of these and he's got a pretty solid record in fact according to this reddit post mike has never post a losing session some users have commented this is about 25 consecutive winning sessions now I've also had some people tell me that they found one losing session he had once so you know pretty even whether Mike's record is 25 and one or thirty you know it's still an absolutely insane stretch the live felt I wasn't going to do this but I just spent the last over an hour between the last clip and this one going through every stones poker stream over the last several months and checking to see how Mike pasal did now the numbers I'm about to give you they're not including rebuy I tried to scan through it's certainly possible I missed a few buys in there so we have to take that with a grain of salt however and a lot of them he runs up a stack early so it's pretty unlikely to me that he's going to be buying here what those numbers look like as you can see he did quite well winning over $60,000 in his last 11 sessions and never booking a loss I mean these results just don't seem possible they spent over an hour setting up that joke it is important to note that these numbers do not include Reeb eyes now in a lot of these situations he built stacks up early so I don't think it would be possible for me buying those ones but there certainly could be a few that slipped through the cracks it's possible that the numbers are more like plus 40,000 and if someone could actually go through and spend 20 or 30 hours painstakingly fine-tuning this to make sure that these numbers are a bit more accurate that would be awesome but I'm not gonna do that so take this with a grain of salt a lot of people have also been looking at the hands to themselves in fact Joe Ingram did a five-hour video going through all of these guy's hands let's take a look at the results like powerful God the [ __ ] is he a God he knows this guy's a [ __ ] God when it comes to like God Mike pasal is echad many many many people in the soul community I pray p.m. upon which I always be screened I'm ready but anytime anywhere if you want to check out that video and have a quick 5 hours to spare I'll put a link in the description below but a lot of these hands were very damning there's some in some frankly insane pots that are multi-way and and Mike just seems to always manage to maneuver himself into the perfect situation and look poker does have a lot of reeds but the issues at play here are that Mike apparently has a connection with the people who operate the show and then additionally during the hands he's often covering his face or and has a hat on and he's looking at his phone it's a bit of a dicey situation all in all and it doesn't really look good now before we get our pitchforks out it's important to remember that people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law I don't really want to have someone tell me to [ __ ] off actually on that note I haven't received notification from my attorneys about the slander lawsuit I mean I know the wheels of justice turn slowly but feel like Charlie's had an abundance of time anyway let's get back on topic I'm gonna start off with who is Mike pasal what's his poker career like and how would he start to play it stones according to Mike's Hendon mob he's been playing poker for some time in fact his tournaments date all the way back to August 2005 and he more or less played most of the way through there's a bit of a gap there in o.9 2011 but all in all the guy has been playing a lot of poker for a while he does seem to primarily play a lot of smaller stakes buy-ins in fact his largest score is for a little over $100,000 at Tunica and if you look at a lot of his recent tournaments he's playing some quite small stake ones over at Stone's Mike is also involved with stones at least to some extent in fact if we look at his LinkedIn it says that he's the creator of the new patent-pending poker series the dream seat which was going to be or maybe still is a stones new tournament cash game tech creation that he essentially created what is also a bit weird about this is that he deleted his LinkedIn that says this just yesterday so he decided to take this down to this information would be public anymore which is not exactly the bet look from the creation of the show as well as some feedback I've gotten from people a little bit closer to the issue it's apparent to me that pasal actually has a connection with some of the people behind the scenes at the show which is an important element when we think about what's happening here in fact there was a tweet from her alibis vulgaris that shows that opossums brother was actually in the booth and was telling some childhood stories about Mike let's take a look so I want to go back to the wheel of destiny and the coloring the wheel so there's always different things there was usually anywhere from 50 cents to $1 to spin the wheels my brother had the wheel perfectly lined up and my brother put some quarters behind the wheels this is what he said he goes well the wheel just doesn't roll very well so I got to put some weights on it to counterbalance it rose well most the time when you roll probably like 90% of time we'd always stop one away from the $5 bill it will be the worst prize ever so my brother would win half the winnings whatever he gave out so my brother Edwin yelm usually make like 30 or 40 bucks angle for my brother do it he'll do it like a nice scam oh that was a great story man yeah if there's an angle if there's an angle for my Braille in do it he'll do it oh it's less funny now I honestly can't I honestly can't believe that this clip exists it's frankly amazing anyway let's move on from Mike in the past let's look at the hands in question now a lot of these hands are very very very suspicious and the reason is because I just don't really think that they're possible I do have to give a caveat here which is it's certainly possible at least theoretically that one person can make a very long stretch of extremely accurate decisions without knowing their opponents cards but with each decision that you see it becomes less and less likely to be random and more more likely that there's some type of other thing going on that allows them to know what to do these hands first really started coming to light from Veronica Brill who brought this up privately to a few different people and then ultimately posted a video on YouTube where she shows a long string of very weird hands by Mike I'll put a link to that video in the description below and you can also read about what Veronica has to say on the issue over on Twitter at angry poleaxe you know she took some heat for coming forward initially especially a lot of people who thought that this wasn't possible but it's very important that people do come forward with these types of you know issues that are happening in the community if they think there's a problem not even to say that someone is for sure guilty but it's best for all of us to have these discussions so that we can ensure a fair playing environment I want to go through just a few of the absolute best moments here there's so many hands and you can go through them for hours as Joe we did but let's hone in on a few that I think are particularly damning let's kick it off by looking at a hand where Mike pasal decides he's gonna go all in with five four offsuit now you might be asking yourself how can that ever be good well it was here the action begins with Ace King raising a 245 over some limps no straddle pot when you play live poker there can be lots of different blinds out there so there's a little bit different than normal and then Chris Moneymaker decides to three bet with Ace King off suit so both players have ace king which is a bad spot for both of them as they block each other's outs and now other hands have substantially more equity against them hands like I'm just gonna make something up like it's like 5 4 off so for example all of a sudden could be a pretty reasonable hand to go with if you knew they both had a sting but if either of these players have a hand like a high pocket pair like tens Jack's Queens Kings or aces you're [ __ ] but no Mike with his crazy style is gonna masterfully maneuver his way into this pot with his 5 for this is insane this is insane this is not a thing now in PLO sometimes people have run downs where they have like a hand like nine eight seven six and they know what both players are very likely to have aces because they keep repotting it can make sense and it can be somewhat clear that's happening that's not a thing in noble them and hold them where both players could have a skink if someone has Queens you're toast here so you simply have to fold there is another important factor here there are some important cards that are dead now the player behind these two players Ace King has came Queen that's one less king of the deck that could be spiked in order for apostle to win but the first two players folded hands that had a four or two of the first three players rather so the net effect here is probably worse for Mike overall but my question would be did he watch those early folds relative to these later ones but let's get into that a little bit later either way it's important to know that this player also does have a king so King Queen folds and now the actions on Mike but one thing that I find very strange about what's happening while this is going on is let's watch Mike while these other players are making decisions we see moneymaker raised and now the actions over to this player with king queen and mike is staring into his lap what is he looking at what's down there I've also heard from multiple players that Mike often has his phone on his lap or that he's even said that he keeps his spawn in this lap where is he looking let's think about this big picture one guy raised Ace King one guy threw bets Ace King some other guy is tanking you're looking at your phone in your lap and then ultimately decide to go with five four off suited two players who both have a king yeah I'm learning as I make the video here because I was wondering to myself what is he doing when he bends over and looks intensely at those chips I went back to before the hand and you can see quite clearly Mike is on his phone he puts in his left hand and he scoots under the table now there are a couple of different angles that we keep other players so we don't know what happened to that hand in between I don't want to be accused of crafty editing tricks does whole argument and painting me as some sort of villain starts with his [ __ ] editing but given that his left hand is positioned in a very similar situation it's fair to say that there was a large chance that phone is still in his hand and or lap now when he leans in to look at those chips which by the way is a very unnatural thing to do at the table how often do you go like this to look at your chips I assume he's saying with this look he's looking at his chips no this is what you do to look on the floor look in your lap to look at something that fell that's what you do that for you don't do that to check your chips out he's looking at something under the table and we know his phone's in his left hand and his left hand is still under the table now watch what happens when this player points at him he probably says it's your turn to act or something watch the way that he reacts his reaction is almost like he's gotten called out he all of a sudden stop shuffling his chips he leans way back and then he turns his wrist over in his lap and shows his arms so there's some sleight of hands stuff going on under the table and now he's in an upright position showing his body entirely here's where this gets really interesting at 300 808 in this stream we freeze-frame we can see something it's very slight but it's certainly there something silver in his hand being flipped over what color is his phone well it's also silver all right so what the guy was on his phone during the hand well besides the fact they recently instituted a new phone policy so he's not supposed to be on his phone anyway the point is he's on his phone staring at something before a really insane decision is made let's say you're a winning player with 5-4 offsuit here how do you ever commit your money I also just can't think of a way I mean maybe if you were drunk and trying to gamble but guy spends like a minute and a half making this decision this is a calculated effort in a complex situation because two guys have ace king so we've got some pretty suspicious stuff from apostle here now what are the commentators saying obviously they're saying things like how can this be happening this is obviously weird with a player putting it with five four offsuit for a lot of money for a huge pot maybe the biggest pot of the evening what is happening this is very bad both players have faced King which is kind of strange we need answers but no they decide to go a different route pasal is thinking thoughts with the five four thinks he might be isolating fairly loose pasal is hoping to channel his the power of possible thinking he's like oh yeah you guys got ace king I got 5 4 I think it's very unlikely the comp taters are guilty in any way here because if people like comp tears were in on what what's happening with potential cheating well it probably would have leaked before now but I do have to say I love the old shift of the eyes here when he realizes the direction this hand might be headed thinks he might be isolating fairly loose which is why I had to take the opportunity to go for some wolves with the tweet when you try to explain calling off 4k pre look 5 4 off soon let's move on to another hand this is one that really stuck out to me as you know one of the most ridiculous Hansen this hand is a bomb punch you're not familiar with that basically the way it works is everyone puts in a certain amount of money and then gets a hand and a flop is dealt so all players see the flop and anyone can have any hand so it's a bit different than normal No Limit Hold'em where you put people on ranges of hands that would want to play preflop everyone's got every hand you will you can't knock people out with good ends and you have to play bad ones it's a way to be able to pay the rake and then someone also wins a big pot then the rate comes out of the pot the flop comes ten five three with two clubs really felt like we're busting into a hand at poker hands there but anyway we look at the eight people in this hand we could see a very wide variety of hands to people with flush draws nut flush around second nut flush draw and then everyone else has something quite weak in fact the hand that's actually ahead right now at showdown value is just bottom pair despite there being eight players the thing about bomb tops are that even though most players have very weak holdings everything is possible anyone can have to pair you of course can have ten five offs ten three obviously or five three two officers those hands are all gonna be dealt to you free you can have over pairs we're gonna have good top pairs you can have any of the draws so it's a situation where just because there's so many people in the pot you do have to proceed with caution so the camera pans around to Mike once again and we see Mike in his signature pose right hand on the table left hand wedged between his legs where it stays for the duration of the hand facing a bet between two flush draws that Mike does decide to call with justice conscious and the nuts now in isolation this is fine they have some reasonable socks behind if he hits us to the nuts so nothing too suspicious here decided to call it bet with the nut straight draw interesting to know he does everything with his right hand here while keeping that left hand securely wedged between his legs let's go ahead and take a turn turn comes a jack and mike goes first here now he thinks about it and decides to check and now he does like an awkward like shirt straight to maneuver while he looks in between his legs which is where his left hand was in the same position when he was holding his phone before so we once again in a big spot where Mike does something pretty wild he checks something in his lap before making his decision anyway another bet here on the turn once again mike has the option to call with his gutter this one isn't quite as good overall although he's still getting fairly good odds on now it's less likely he's gonna hit it straight in this hand and additionally he has less money behind to win but at the same time calling near is pretty close now what's really interesting about this hand is what Mike decides to do on the river the board pairs both players brick and Mike decides to jam he jams a situation where either player couldn't have an overpair either player could have two pair or a set either player could have Rivard some kind of trips although it's actually kind of unlikely anyone has a three and that's also why this is so rear so weird what is Mike saying he has many jams here maybe like a week to hear that River in a boat really not many hands he's even saying he had what this Jam more it looks like to me is I think my opponents are weak and the only information he has to make that decision is one of them only called so there's another awesome play from Mike when two players missed and the thing is maybe one of these hands an installation would be fine but there are just so many of them now stones had to deal with a lot of allegations that there was cheating going on because there was probably cheating going on so they instituted a no phones rule that apparently wasn't very serious because people continued to be on their phone it's gonna get kind of repetitive for me to go through all of these hands with crazy plays but here's a little sampling yes another folding to a turn bet with top pair versus the nut straight folding ace king vs. eights on just the flop King 8 3 there's just all kinds of these plays that have happened consistently there's a hand with turned third pair where he raises for value and bets there for value against ace high there's a third of so many of these hands that are honestly just kind of ridiculous so when he's looking he's looking for something specific and I can see it and I'm not gonna say and guys see if you can spot it but do not come in if you do see it keep it to yourself but the most interesting part of all of this is you can't find hands where he made a bad river play at least I haven't you can find hands where he tried to bluff there ever and it failed mainly in spots where people made crazy calls but I don't think I've seen a single hand through this entire sample where he made a really bad river play there was one hand where he got boat over boated and I think he just called when he probably should have been raising her almost certainly ship and raising and that's basically it nothing marginal at all another aspect to this is that sometimes in big situations the RFID picks up the wrong cards and those situations tend to be favorable for Mike now basically it makes his place look like they're more reasonable now rather than break one down I want to show you some parts of Joey breaking this down for you guys himself I like the common errors they get excited I like these guys man they're fun because raised makes it 2 point 4 K yeah the graphics seem to always be wrong right when [ __ ] Mike makes a crazy play huh yeah now mike has it oh how [ __ ] convenient that is huh Oh third door how convenient is that okay [ __ ] this is [ __ ] this is [ __ ] [ __ ] man [Music] there's no way I listen they've been saying they've said this three times four hands the graphics happen to be I don't believe it man you're telling me that this [ __ ] guy gets his graphics Ron's on a consistent basis in spots where he just happened to have a situation that's [ __ ] [ __ ] man I'm getting a little [ __ ] pissed off watching this [ __ ] [ __ ] this man are you [ __ ] serious yeah the graphics are wrong get the [ __ ] out of here man this is [ __ ] [ __ ] if that's what they're trying to say man that is [ __ ] [ __ ] that is [ __ ] [ __ ] again so now I've heard they're wrong three times and this guy had a [ __ ] this is [ __ ] this is [ __ ] [ __ ] now they changed 89 yeah [ __ ] right Yeah right uh-huh I hope he shows eight nine yeah right oh my god what the [ __ ] is going on man dude here's the thing not only just now the graphics are wrong are you guys [ __ ] serious [ __ ] serious it's past the third time with the eights verse tens they were wrong too and with the six nine verse they're wrong - OH the graphics are wrong so this insane Bluff is actually the nuts but it's not gonna get caught Oh the graphics are wrong oh that makes sense yeah that yeah except that's not how RFID works the way RFID works is every card has an individual ID for example an ace maybe r69 32b and whenever the reader sees our 693 TV it knows it's the ace of hearts so if a card is wrong it would be wrong the entire session it wouldn't just randomly happen to be wrong one time now maybe it would not pick up a card because it wasn't putting the right sensor maybe another card got put over the the ID but essentially the point is if you get two cards dealt into the RFID area and one of them is wrong it's going to be wrong for the entire session this is something other people weighed in on for example Berkey tweeted watching some of this is disturbing I owned RFID Tech and let me tell you the graphics almost never mistreat a hand you'd have to miss registered a card meaning it would be consistently wrong so next time you see Matt Berkey making one of his signature plays just know yes those really are his cards I also want to point out a separate issue which is I feel like the commentators and analysts I think it really says a lot that in every one of these streams basically they talked about how possible is gonna win he's gonna backdoor the knots he's gonna make the right move he's gonna have the right read he's gonna win this session in that session listen and and basically it creates this atmosphere of oh yeah Mike just wins every time that's just kind of what whoo Mike is it creates this sort of aura of when he's just winning way too much way too often oh that's just Mike you know I should move Mike is but look like the way the poker works it's not like with some other games where if you're truly amazing you might never lose in poker even ain't no expert amazing players are often wrong and only win something like 52 to 55 percent of their sessions maybe in certain game types up there particularly big favorites more like 55 60 percent of their sessions they don't win every time they don't anyway here's the rub I can't say with 100% certainty is guilty because I wasn't there and I don't have the proof however I can say that there was a series of factors here that are fairly damning and make it in my mind almost certain that the man is cheating these are the reasons the number of winning sessions in a row is absolutely out of control professional players don't win that often they win a much smaller number the run he's on will be something like 0.1% likelihood even if he was very good number two some of these hands are complete and utter soul Reid's just ABS Sol reads that I have never seen before in my life and I've played a lot of Poker in fact the only soul reads I can remember that are similar to this are back when someone hacked my computer and beat me for a ton of buy-ins and I ended up being refined it by PokerStars that's actually the most similar of these hands I can remember anything ever being and I was being cheated during that it's not normal to be able to just raise and value about third payer in huge pots that's not a normal thing in fact good players pot control in those situations quite often to avoid losing too much money I can also say on the river Mike place extremely good in fact he proposed to this proof of him making a bad river call it's a $40 call there's also the RFID issue which is just fabricated there's no way what they're saying is correct unless there's some difference in their tech compared to the other RFID which seems impossible to me I mean we add all of these things together we add the connections to stones himself you know this is this is a lot of evidence towards him cheating right and so it's at a point now where I think it's very very important what we do from here stones needs to issue a full and thorough investigation of the matter right now which is why you'll rest easy knowing that three days ago stones tweeted earlier this year an accusation was made that a player was cheating in our game we conducted a full investigation and found no evidence that any cheating had occurred stones life she remains a secured poker shooting platform the recent allegations are completely fabricated who Wow alright I was worried there but you know this did come out a few days ago so you know it's probably a really thorough investigation I mean even Kevin Martin one of the absolute nicest guys in poker jumps in here and says I really like you guys but you might want to redo that investigation the tapes look bad one arm constantly a jacket holding phone had a rise really bad hand selection placed terrible fundamental poker but magically calls and Bluffs in perfect post-flop spots and this is where we're at we got to get to some conclusions here so I've got a few ideas that we can do as a community to solve the issue first off I think stones should release the the footage of just mic specifically so you know how it goes from Player to Player in the context of a hand well just the footage of Mike and how he operates in all of the hands so we can see where his eyes are and what he's doing I think that would go a long way second off I would love to have an interview with Mike where we discuss a bunch of these things I think that there are a lot of things to address and I would like to do that if that's not an option and then finally I think this is a fun option how about we get Mike to play on a different stream where it's not stones maybe we can have Mike head on down to the bike and see if these same moves go just as well there I have a feeling they won't go as well but it would certainly be easy to see and frankly if the guy manages to go undefeated at live of the bike I mean maybe this guy is just the greatest poker player that's ever lived Mike pasal is a god or he's not you
