Rodent problem solved?

[Music] well it appear that we have a rodent issue going on under here there's footprints everywhere having a little party I haven't seen any chewed wires yet it's just a matter of time so we're gonna install the rat light and find out what it's all about all right well we've got here is the rat light let's give you five years of protection under the hood see if we get it to focus on this card rat light founder Richard Morton is that it and Sunita gonna unbox this thing and find out what it's all about happy to show the back of it here got multiple mounting instructions you pause it right there and read all those instructions if you want total plastic plastic tab with some tape cover the hole add some glitter balls reflect the light shows you where to place them under the hood here's the rat light itself the little tab in the back once you pull that it's activated that's what the tapes for it comes on the package you have some heavy-duty 3m adhesive tape here stuff Towson special all right so that's everything that comes in the package let's go over the truck we're gonna find a location to mount this thing used to shine as much out of the hood as it can so let's go to the truck alright the truck find a good place to mount this somewhere that's not gonna be easily knocked off somewhere that's secure now let's do the one on to the batteries because the batteries should be replaced at any time so room got something permanent on there maybe this fuse box right here try a couple different locations we came out of the fuse box they'll give us a nice angle across the engine compartment I put it here with that limits where it's gonna shine the glitter bowls will help out but we want to catch as much as much as we can just by itself so plugging about it right here on the fuse box which is the recommended spot on most these installs I've seen start off by we're gonna activate this thing right now five years a long time I'll take this little piece of tape that's included with the package now we're activated now we're running lights flashing rats don't like those mice don't like this makes me think they're a disco they like it just go find our position box clean up a little bit brush you some alcohol or something but we just pressure wash it with some pretty good soap so I should stick just fine read part of the same bosses maybe see that's not super sticky find our position we want to only have time to stick I should take take any off-road abuse anything all right back at you we got the instructions here for the glitter balls they used to bounce the light into places that it doesn't shine directly attached to a suitable glue the last time I used superglue not thinking that these were styrofoam and it melted half the glitter ball so I lost half my half my glitter shop so we're gonna use black bolts your black RTV this time we're gonna see how sticks holds everything else together take the first one out here you'll want it to shine from that red light across the engine base so it's gonna shoot this direction so want to find someone really those people until it's closed it's gonna shoot again probably should use some rubbing alcohol on stuff like this but I don't have that at the moment it's gonna take a little bit of black RTV and I stick it on here so far so good has it melted it we're gonna stick that right up here and I'll hold that for a second hopefully it sticks yeah we're just experimenting here not quite not quite sticky enough you know let that tack up for a second once it dries it's gonna hold it on nice I'm sure there's a better glue for this we're gonna let that tack up for a second all right we got that one stuck up there it took about two minutes for the thing to actually stick so hopefully when it dries it's gonna stick like it should be okay put the second one over here the right light shoots over here a little bit gonna come off that one semester you right to the top of this measure the top of this air box should do nicely again until it's dark we don't know where this thing's shooting anyways grab just go ball number three stick that right back here hopefully none of those fall off so we went ahead and we pressure washed everything got rid of all footprints all the droppings all the smell from the mice and squirrels or whatever was under here they're pretty small footprints there's probably mice we didn't have this field across the street from our house so we get all kinds of random animals coming through here so we're gonna install this thing it's all done let everything dry and we're gonna come back in a couple weeks let some dust build up and see how many footprints we have all right so here we're recapping we got the rat light eliminate rodent damage says here five year battery life so this is 2019 which this thing she lasted till 2000 what 24 hopefully a lot lost the truck so we'll find out we'll do an update down the road and see how this thing's working up
