Does Mint Oil Actually Repel Mice? Let's Test It Out With Real Mice.

today for mousetrap Monday we're gonna test and see if mint actually works as a natural rodent repellent a lot of YouTube viewers have heard this and they've contacted me wanting to know if it's true if you go online you won't have any problem finding websites that claim mice hate the smell of mint I've read quite a few articles on the subject some say it's as simple as harvesting mint from your garden crushing up the leaves and leaving the paste around the house but by far the most recommended method is to get highly concentrated peppermint oil like this essential oil they say if you place cotton balls around your house and refresh it on a regular basis with peppermint oil you're less likely to have a rodent problem even if it doesn't work at least your pantry drawers and car will smell really good a lot of major brands are now starting to develop products that market mint as a rodent repellent here we have a product made by Victor one of the largest mousetrap companies in the world and they have a product called sent away natural rodent repeller drops this comes in a three pack and it says it provides up to sixty days of coverage even has a nice little scratch and sniff I smelled it earlier it smells like really concentrated mint gum now I'm curious if this works let's go take these out of the package set them up in the barn and do a test to see if mice hate the smell of mint we're out here in the barn and we're ready to test our mint rodent repeller we'll take it out of the package here's our little mint oil capsules it says to pull the foil to activate now the man oil can drip out and it says it can last for up to a month as a sticky pad on back and it also has a hook it smells nice to test it we're gonna open up the lid of our box hang it in the back here the mint oil can now drip into the box we're gonna put some bait around here see if the mice come in or if they really don't like mint I'm gonna add some bait I think I'll add another one just to make sure it's strong enough let's set up the motion cameras and see what happens tonight before filming this video I had no idea if MIT oil actually works as a rodent repellent and truthfully I was a little skeptical but after setting up this experiment and reviewing the motion camera footage I am convinced that mice hate the smell of mint all week long the mice have been coming and eating the bait out of the station every single sunflower seed has been gone but after adding mint oil they didn't touch a single seed they get to the entrance and then turn around they wouldn't enter the box at all so as far as being a mythbuster it's true mint oil works as a natural rodent repellent it's a great tool in keeping rodents out of your house it smells good you just have to replenish it as needed but it definitely works I'm a big fan of the sent away mint rodent repellers made by Victor and I definitely recommend that you put these in your pantry your cupboards in your car any place you don't want mice I'm posting between 4 and 5 rodent traps and repellent videos a week so if you want to see how to deal with mice rats squirrels chipmunks moles folds and Gophers make sure you subscribe and ring that bell to get notifications you

I hated trapping and dealing with the mess, this mint oil seems way better. i do open my hood but i still got em

He also tests the sonic ones but they didnt work at all the mice sat in front of it like a concert while snacking.
